Perhaps because not enough players have them? A friend of mine got the Soned last night, which I have at X and I warned him. He was a bit skeptical but then he saw with his own eyes. Of all the changes only the Sweeper seems OK but nothing has happened to the most crucial weapon lot, the URs, most of which are substandard. Do you think they are just waiting?

I think they're just waiting. They want to spend their energy addressing things that affect the greatest amount of players, so that means commons and uncommons. I'd expect that to change as manifests get larger. I agree with you though that the URs are pretty shitty overall.

BTW, have you ever fought a shark and punched it in the nose?

I`m sorry... but I am more curious about how you already got an Ultra rare weapon to X.

BTW, have you ever fought a shark and punched it in the nose? That Valkyrie buff was pathetic. I haven't exactly punched one in the nose, but I have facepalmed them in the nose to push them away.. several times. I had an 11ft Tiger shark roll up on me during a deco stop and I smashed him in the nose with my spear tip as hard as I could. I put every bit of shoulder strength I had into it.. and my spear just glanced off leaving a small white scrape. It felt like ramming a brick wall. He didn't get agitated.. just swam away slowly. Most of the time I have a .357 powerhead with me, and shoot them in the top of their head.. if they don't leave after I charge them. Usually charging them and displaying aggression makes them leave.. but the stupider, or hungrier ones keep coming back. They get popped.

No.. they only show up in the winter when the water is cold, and I hate diving in cold water. They show up to feed on the Wright Whale pups. I've had a bunch of friends see them.. but I haven't been so 'lucky'. I may have swam with one and not known it. Masks give you significant tunnel vision. Most sea creatures don't want to mess with divers.. as they size up threats and don't mess with things their size or bigger. I'm 6'6 and about 320 (chubby) pounds, so by the time I put on my 3 ft fins and my 5-6ft gun.. if I lay out flat (which is how I swim) I'm 14-15 feet long.. which makes me bigger than most animals in the ocean. They also don't like bubbles, and supposedly metal tanks give off something electric/magnetic/whatever that they don't like. It's actually really safe until you introduce bleeding/struggling fish into the equation.
