Been hovering for weeks now, first time posting! I've had the game since launch, but set is aside following negative reviews in favor of finishing Witcher DLC's. Now that I've finished, and the improvements to the game have been made, I'm thinking about jumping back into it but have a few questions before I ultimately decide. I'm not one to replay games shortly after finishing. In fact, once I complete Andromeda I won't be picking it up again for probably a year or so later, if at all. I'm just not the type who can handle repetitiveness easily, and my first playthrough always consists of a 100% completion. So that being said, I intend to romance Gil or Reyes (prob Gil) seeing as I'm a homosexual and all, but have heard backlash about how they (specifically Gil) are represented and more so their lack of content. This was another, albeit small reason why I set Andromeda aside despite buying it on launch. Now people are talking about a patch that will supposedly improve these romances and/ or add more options in "two months." The thing I want to avoid most is playing the game now then finding out later they added things I'm never going to experience because I already played the game and have no intention of reliving scenes and dialogue (romance wise) with the same character just to witness what I missed the first time around. So my questions is this; Will Gil/ Reyes content be added or altered, and should I wait until it has? Thanks in advance!

I can't say for sure, but the pessimist that I am, I think they are going to alter content, instead of add it. Maybe some slight, tiny things added, but yeah. The game isn't going anywhere, so I totally think you should wait nevertheless, even if it's just altering content rather than adding it.

They said over the course of two months they will be improving Scott's male romance content. If you can wait that long, and if it's up to your standards, play then. If not, and you want to play now, go for Reyes. Gil's romance arc is handled terribly, with him asking to have a baby with you despite now knowing you long and Jill's unholy precense in his arc. Reyes, while off ship, is better paces, and his voice...

I've heard about Gil's romance, but haven't fully spoiled myself, as with everything about the game. Gil's reception seems to be mixed, and while I agree that from what I've heard, the baby thing sounds a bit ridiculous, I also heard you can steer the relationship away from becoming fathers. Depending on how natural I feel the relationship develops, I may or may not agree to the baby thing.
If I ever do decide to play a second time, I will be aiming for Reyes, or Jaal in the unlikely event they make him bi.
It looks like I'm leaning toward waiting... Which sucks, given I've already been waiting five freaking years lol.
You disappoint me, Bioware.

If you are planning on multiple runs, you may as well go for it now. As for who you should romance, just play the game and see for yourself. I was planning to romance Gil from the very beginning (I thought that if he's a crew member, he would have more content, silly me), but then Reyes winked at my Ryder and "things" happened.

As I've said, I definitely don't plan on multiple runs, arguably even a second. If I do, it won't be for a very, very long time, hence why I'm so unsure if I should wait or not.
If only Bioware was more detailed in telling us what they intend to do.

I am waiting to run a male character, not just because they might add a bit more to his romantic relationships, but because I hope that male cc will provide more hairstyle, and maybe alternative complexions bar for some of the heads. I can easily see two PTs though, right-sided and left-sided character, so I am doing the female PT first (right-sided, hero, biotic) leaving the left sided, rogue, tech or warrior to the male, so I am not suffering the withdrawals... so hard to advise for someone who have not tried the game yet.

You can still get it and make saves in between each romance arc without needing a 2nd playthrough. You can really time out both romance arcs to be close to each other so you can just finish one and reload a save before it to pick the other one. So in the event they get more content you just reload a save. That's how I did it anyways. Now if you rather wait for a possible Jaal that's another story.

Not really, the romance stuff is a 5% of the game anyway.
If you want to play it just play it, if you're not sure you could always wait for more patches, DLCs, sales or maybe even a complete edition.

Yep, I doubt they will make significant changes like... adding more options, or creating Cora-level sex scene. I think maybe just fixes in the animation or probably more emails will be more realistic expectation.

I found the whole Gil romance super awkward and a little creepy. Jill issues aside, my ultimate concern is it's what two dates before he asks you to father with him. Yeah nah mate, I'll stick to my storage crate romance with Reyes thanks!
Perhaps it's part of neither romance having enough time devoted to it. Hopefully that'll change with updates, might be worth waiting but it could be a month or more before an update.

I recall seeing a picture posted somewhere here on the forums with an updated version of Gil and Scott following the most recent patch. It showed the entirety of Gil's backside and Scott beneath him, looking like he was/ about to spread his legs... I try hard af to avoid spoilers, but kind of glad I caught that one after hearing the previous sex scene complaints.
I've heard mostly good (in the Gil forum) and some bad about Gil, the negative seeming to stem from the Jill and baby thing. Hopefully waiting will have been worth it for me, because I am itching to play, but will make it easier on myself tomorrow when I buy the new pokemon game lol... Should settle my gaming thirst for a few weeks, at least.
I won't know if I'll enjoy Gil's romance or if I'll feel like you and some others, and find it creepy and awkward until the improvements have been announced... And maybe by then, if we're lucky, it'll no longer be considered creepy or awkward by anyone.
I googled Kadara's placement in the game and it seems like you don't get there and meet Reyes until near the end. My plan was to casually build up a relationship with both Gil and Reyes and ultimately choose who to becomes "locked" with when I had to. Seeing as Reyes is so late in the game I don't know if I want to RP someone who strings Gil along for so long just to set sights on someone else, hence why I'm more or less aiming for his romance alone.
Also, PSSST! I never post in forums... New to it and all. Could anyone tell me how I include people's name and date info within quotes?

Chances that either Gil or Reyes will get major changes and big scenes andedd in the "2-months patch plan" are small. Realistic for big paid DLCs as we saw with ME3 though.
If you're only planning 1 run, I say wait at least 2 months for all patches from "2-months plan" to come out. Even if they dont significantly improve m/m romances, at least the whole game will be better and fixed in many areas. This is a 80+ hours game, often u won't even remember about romances, they're tiny compared to whole thing

Kadara comes in the middle, at least it feels that way for me, because I explored all planets but the last one before proceeding with the main story. The problem with Reyes is not the waiting, it is that as far as I know you cannot visit with him after you are done with Kadar's main story and he does not have dialogues after two major plot points (which moved the party romance forward). I assume that Gil does. I still chose to wait until there is something specific from Bio in respect to what exactly they mean before a run with a male lead.

If only I had listened to myself and not bought the game until several months after its release. If... Only ><
Didn't learn a harsh enough lesson from DA Inquisition, apparently.
I'm embarrassed for myself.

I don't like it that BioWare is holding back on saying what is going happen with M/M romances, but the game is playable, and worth a run with one female, one male, doing the opposite choices on quests and dialogues. There are certainly no choices to female options.

I've finished the game with Sara, I'm holding off on Scott till I see what they add. Doesn't seem worth it to go through the playthrough twice just for some probably sparse content.

Same, though I am thinking I might give a shot to a straight male lead if I finish F!Ryder too soon, and MP is not enough. If by the time I am on Kadara there is still no info, I will decide then if I am finishing or waiting again. I'd really would like Reyes to be my canon male lead romance. But well, Cora or Vetra can be interpreted as plot important as well, though Reyes is better imo, because he is from the new Galaxy set up, not your crew.

Guys got me considering it.... But I never play or RP female characters. If the wait proves too long and I've nothing else to play, I'll just give up and romance Cora with a Scott playthrough. I agree it's just a small portion of the content, so probably not worth waiting over.

It's different, and I find I make choices that make very different chars then females. Might be very artificial or unrealistic, but it's my videogame, and I don't invite others to watch, lol.

If your inclined to play this type of game, I'd say just buy it.
Waiting is pointless in my opinion, since they almost certainly aren't going to create any new content in the m/m romances, just alter the existing content. All I'd say is go in with low expectations from the romances. Bear in mind that's coming from someone who dislikes Gil and Reyes to the point I'd rather have no romance than do theirs.

Don't expect new animations; they would have to shoot new voice work lines and spend money on animators. All you can hope is they received enough hit to not shit on M/M options again in the sequel.

I've played both and a little disappointed. It's not the amount of people you can romance, but that actual content. I know a lot some people consider romance just a side thing.
I wrote fanfic so for me it's important. There are a few scenes, emails and a little bit of flirting for both Gil and Reyes.
The Gil one from where they start to finish is a whirlwind. I love the idea, but is completely rushed.
The Reyes really only happens around Kadara, some of the conversations with your team are funny especially with Vetra and I think Jaal and attracted to badboys. With everything you go through Reyes attitude at the end is a little let down.
I know they have to get so much in, but a couple more conversations, visit chats or even emails would be nice.
I also hate these games as they give me fanfic ideas and I have enough to write as is lol.
