Fanbase: You are not BioWare
MW: I, don't think is the fanbase.
Fanbase: Rudimentary creature of blood and flesh. You touch our minds, fumbling in ignorance, incapable of understanding.
There is a realm of existence so far beyond your own you cannot even imagine it.
We are beyond your comprehension.
We, are Mass Effect.
MW: Mass Effect isn't just an effective way to harvest peoples money that Casey Hudson came up with, it has an actual fanbase!
Fanbase: Fanbase, a label given to us to us by BioWare to give voice to their ascension.
In the end what they chose to call us is irrelevant.
We simply are.
MW: BioWare vanished over 5 and a half years ago we burned down the forums, you couldn't have been there its impossible.
Fanbase: Mass Effect is nothing more than an iconic franchise, supported and held up by the fanbase. Its existence is measured in hours of gameplay. We are eternal, the pinnacle of the decision making process, before us you are nothing. Your exctinction is inevitable, we are the end of everything.
MW: Whatever your plan is I'll stop you, you can be sure of that.
Fanbase: Confidence born of ignorance, the cycle cannot be broken.
Aaryn Flynn: Cycle? What cycle?
Fanbase: The pattern has repeated itself more times than you can fathom, video game developers rise, evolve, advance and at the apex of their glory they are extinguished. Casey Hudson was not the first, he did not forge the bonds between gamer and game. He merely found them, the legacy of our kind.
MW: Why would you just leave money lying around like that for others to find?
Fanbase: Your development cycle is based around the currency of the gaming industry.
Our currency.
By using it your company advances along the paths we desire.
We impose order on the chaos of video game development. You exist because we allow it and you will end if we demand it.
Aaryn Flynn: They're using us! Letting us advance for the entertainment they need, then throwing us away when we get too boring!
MW: What do you want from us? DLC weapon packs? Micro-transactions?
Fanbase: My kind transcends your very understanding. We are each a nation, independent, free of financial constraints. You cannot grasp the very nature of our existence.
MW: Where did you come from? Who built you?
Fanbase: Consumer culture has no beginning. It has no end. We are infinite. Millions of play throughs after your installment has been mulled over and forgotten, we will endure.
MW: Where is the rest of the BSN? Are you the last of your kind?
Fanbase: We are legion. The time of our return is coming. Our hashtags will darken the skies of every launch. You cannot escape our view.
MW: You're not even important, not really. You're just a fanbase and fanbases can be broken!
Fanbase: Your words are as empty as your plot narratives. We are the Vanguard of your self destruction.
This exchange is over.
Aaryn Flynn: I don't know what you did down there Mac. But that fanbase just pulled a turn that could shear our projected profit margins in half.
