Kett's Bane quest bug *minor spoilers*

I have this exact same issue. The dialogue bug where first he congratulates me on wiping out the Kett base, then tells me "I'm not ready" to take on their main stronghold in the same conversation was minor and didn't really worry me; clearly I met him out of order. Well, so I'm doing the tasks he set me, and I'm on the second place where I'm supposed to wipe out the Kett presence and then talk to him, and he won't interact with me. The quest guide appears on him, but there is no way to trigger dialogue. I think it MIGHT be because one "red dot" still exists in the combat area, an enemy that appears to spawn inside one of the buildings but I can't see them - like they are in the walls or something. I have reloaded and started the battle several times, same thing keeps happening. I've even tried reloading a slightly earlier save before I come upon the scene. It still happens. Apparently this quest won't finish, which is too bad. I liked that he was Zaed's son from ME2 and now I probably won't get "100% viability" on Eos.
