Hades In an alternative world I'm beaming over being on the right side of the tie between me and the final boss. Alas. As always though, good news, I met my boy Patroclus, alas before the room where I lost my retry but still. Mah boy.
Coming close to 50 tries and if I reach 100 it's god mode time.
Icewind Dale 2. While struggling in BG EE I kept thinking, I never did finish that game. Think I made it past a big snake lady and a blimp crash and then gave up.
So gave it a try and was faced with my first obstacle. Character Creation. Did make a drow ranger which I was really digging, but found one of the characters in the npc mod I'm using just plain wont speak to them. And supposedly rangers are not good in this game? But then again, that's what's easy mode is for. So tried making an elf and just. Meh. Not bonding with them at all.
So putting it on ice for now I guess.

So I went back to Horizon Forbidden West, made it to Barren Light finally! Also, reached level 10. And I still don't really feel the game. Presentation is excellent, but I don't like the combat and a few other features (I have to hold down way too many buttons) and I also think the game didn't know if it wanted to be a puzzle solver or an action-RPG. Anyway. I'll try to finish it since I bought it.

The combat grew on me after initially struggling with it and yeah there are some things I didn't like with the controls especially the hook thing where you need to use three keys. I am glad someone else raised the issue of the game and puzzle solving. It's not that there are a lot of puzzles just that the game wants a lot of regular gameplay to involve solving situations almost like completing puzzles. For example trying to get the drone in the drones in some places. Those actual relic ruins puzzles were exactly what I don't like in games, I am just not good at them so they take me forever.

Speaking of Forbidden West - I finished CP2077 Phantom Liberty last night (it was fine, raised up by the ending) and went back to Aloy.
She'd been left accompanying Varl and...the Utaru lady whose name escapes me at the moment - to the Sacred Cave where MINERVA is supposed to be.
The common keybinds all do quite different things between the two games, so it took dying a few times to get my head back in the Horizon game, but made it to the TAU Cauldron and have progressed through.

So gave it a try and was faced with my first obstacle. Character Creation. First time I finished it, after quite a few aborted attempts, was with a duo. A human sorcerer and a half-orc Fighter/Thief. Abused the everliving fuck out of invis and imp. invis + half-orc strength backstabs. Made for a very fun tactical game albeit the end boss with just a duo was... rough. *** I finished CP2077 Phantom Liberty last night You thought I forgot, but I did not.
***
I have been contemplating an industrial hivemind run of Master of Orion, got the itch to swarm the enemy with endless hordes of frigates.
But, instead I played a few rounds of ME3MP and am watching a Let's Play of Star Trek: Resurgence, which is surprisingly really good. But not at all the type of game I want to play.

First time I finished it, after quite a few aborted attempts, was with a duo. A human sorcerer and a half-orc Fighter/Thief. Abused the everliving fuck out of invis and imp. invis + half-orc strength backstabs. Made for a very fun tactical game albeit the end boss with just a duo was... rough. Figure a smaller party would be the smarter way to go, but I'm mostly playing for the NPC mod so probably going to have a full roster. But the xp in a smaller group sounds very, very tempting. --- Icewind Dale 2.Made a sorceress elf that I ended up enjoying. Rest of the party is a druid, bard, fighter, barbarian and a wizard. And some random summons too, because if the enemy is hitting them, they aint hitting me. Finished the interior of Targos, then went to the Wilderness and was reminded why I quit last time. Save scumming because Resurrection is expensive and elves can't even be raised by Raise Dead, so even more expensive. Ended up giving it a few more tries and something clicked. Had fun watching the silly orcs place their explosive barrels at their feet and blowing themselves up. Do like the little comments when you get XP. Chivalry is not dead and stuff like that. The bridge was a pain, since it's kinda timed if you want the extra xp. Ended up loosing out on 500 xp anyways since I attacked the Ogres with an AOE spell so the character who's supposed to delay you ended up aggroing instead. But finished the encounter with the whole team breathing so eh, I'll take it. Did manage to get the xp in an earlier try but two characters died and no I'm not spending the whole quest reward just to revive you two. Then the Goblin fortress. Again, reminded why I quit. And again, more tries something clicked. Which is a big reason why I came back in the first place. There is this sort of charm to it. Currently in the Warrens about to enter the fortress proper. Crossing fingers the Wardstone I need (but forgot to pick up) hasn't despawned since thought the icon for it was one of the dead spiders from my pack and I had just dropped it. Why I have dead spiders (and a dead cat) in my pack is my business. I have a save before I entered the area but...just no. No thank you. Figure I was mixing up games and the Malarith is in the first game. Which I am very much fine with, since while she is a beauty she's also a massive pain I won't mind skipping. But it was fun for the most part. Watching a minor change just melt through an encounter is glorious. Also I got Fireball now and can you ask for more?

So, who would have thought that beneath where the Dancing Lion Beast was we would find a dungeon where they make the Jar enemies and, some of these innards didn't get the memo to wait until the process was done to work. We also manage to take down a very interesting boss:

So I gave in and bought Crusader Kings III and I am overwhelmed. There are so many mechanics to the game. I thought the game was going to be a light Total War ripoff but with some more kingdom management systems. But I never thought I would have a say in every aspect like choosing a Council. I remember many many years ago when I first played the original Rome: Total War I really enjoyed the basic family system and wanted more of that. CK3 has that but on steroids. I was going to download the Princes of Darkness mod that is based on the World of Darkness setting. But I said let me try the vanilla game. I am currently playing the Iberian campaign as King Alfonse. Oh yeah the tutorial is one of the longest I have ever seen explaining every aspect of kingdom management. Due to I no longer having a good attention span I quit the tutorial around the mid half. I'm just winging it for now. Also there is a basic notice system where I receive updates on my Kingdom. Despite all that I am enjoying the game you might say I am addicted.

Enshrouded I found out there are 32 types of building blocks in total so I went about acquiring most of them. I think I have all except the lime block. I fooled around with the floor blocks and found the red marble is fussy. It would take without any extra protrusions for one square and flatly refuse to cooperate for the other so I ended up using bronze blocks. There aren't any curvy shapes available unless I use wooden roof tiles to shape. I might try it on the pillars. For luminescent, there's the blue, white and green. The latter which I didn't use for the floor. For the story, there's bit and pieces / clues left behind in writings on what happened after the Shroud began taking over and what the monarchs and the people did, trying to survive. Sometimes the NPCs would speak of friends and colleagues as if they're still around. For them, they went to sleep and knew nothing so their yesterday, their last week, their last month was recent. I've no idea how long they have slept though. Give or take, maybe 40 years and more.

Though with the updates, I think you wouldn't get any particular message. Keep an eye on her kids if she married and didn't die early in the campaign. I play with mods because I want better control over the marriage choices of the immediate family, when they marry and the education of the kids. Default version, the player cannot control whom they marry nor ransom any relative in other kingdoms.

Talking about Game of Thrones I saw there's a beta of a mod based in that world. Tempted to try it. But I will continue my Iberian campaign.

I'd be playing late at night and think - "I'll just give it a few more minutes to make sure this decision pans out and then I'll go to bed." *few more minutes later* "Well, that worked out well, time for b...is that the sun?" I had to uninstall it. Hope you enjoy yourself!

They'll do what they do. I played the Iberian campaign a few times with Urraca because I wanted to see if I could pull her away. Nope. The only thing I could do was get her a suitable husband and hoped she'll be busy with him. Nevertheless, there'll be a kid or two who shouldn't be and they're mostly born with defects. The only one to get away hale in one PT was a son who's sterile. The last PT I did wasn't Iberian but I noticed that the father of a child born out of wedlock is not longer named. Imagine my annoyance when two daughters bore kids before they're married and I couldn't figure out who the daddies were.

NHL 24So this is the new PS Plus game of the month so obviously wanted to give it a try especially with the Free Agency starting IRL so the Bruins have new players and lost some players so roster adjustment and dreams will begin. Though I am going to miss Bergeron and Krecji obviously so who knows may even go back to the previous game, especially if I lose access to Plus. I will admit though if I get around to it, because this could be a temporary thing, at least for now (where have we heard that one before?), but am curious to see if the Franchise mode actually properly keeps track of stats across the seasons and across these players careers...at least in a menu that I can find. Early results do seem at least somewhat impressive. Menus look better at least, animations on the players look better, and the goalies and players look far more dynamic as well. Though the hits don't quite feel as right as they once did or look right. On the other hand though I am actually confirming that this game with its more dynamic stuff has more hockey stuff that I am able to do. Deflection goals and have set up one timers. Of course doesen't happen all the time but I do believe I got off at least three of them that I can confirm by the game acknowledging it intentionally and probably a couple of them sneaking in on their own. Though the goalies have pretty much gotten all of the saves on them, except Morgan Geekie might've pulled off one when Coyle made a shot and the puck came right to him as he fired it through. Other thing that I have to reckon with is some difficulty. Started my first game on Pro which is what I left off on the last game with as well...but lost 1-0 against the Maple Leafs on a Auston Mathews goal. Annoying. And couldn't stand. Granted the asterisk is, potentially, I forgot to set the time periods the way I wanted to so I only had three minute periods to contend with which probably didn't help. So after turning the difficulty down a peg and setting the time right next games, 7-3 against the Panthers, 5-1 against the Kings, and 12-1 against the Red Wings most damingly. So one of those difficulty spike sort of things...though it is just the Red Wings...who aren't that horrible. We'll see where this goes if I continue on with it. Big player notes, dun dun dun, despite all this scoring think Pasta only had like 3 points. Elias Lindholm, one of the new Bruins, had three straight games scoring and like...five goals. Marchand had a PP goal. Geekie had a two goal game. Coyle had like 3 goals. And Debrusk had like four of his own, including the game against the Red Wings he had five points with a hat trick and 2 assists. And they actually animate hats coming down to the rink in this game. So that's nice.

Anyway. I'll try to finish it since I bought it. are you using a Keyboard and Mouse set-up? (if you are) My recommendation is to switch to a PC Compatible Xbox One Controller.....Trust me, this is coming from a guy who was a diehard KBM Gamer...But ever since I bought Jedi Survivor and switched to a Controller, my l(gaming) life has been much easier and far more enjoyable. Now, with few exceptions (such as MASS EFFECT) I don't think I would ever go back to a KB/M set-up.

I just finished the campaigns for Songs of Conquest, an indie spiritual successor to Heroes of Might and Magic that came out this year. It's a lot of fun, it's got lovely pixel art, and the factions are more creative than what you get in most fantasy strategy games. Oh, and after each campaign mission you get a bit of a song narrating what just happened, hence the title. It's neat. Apparently, the devs' plan is to regularly update with new campaigns, which is awesome.

Icewind Dale 2 Fantastic news the item did not despawn and the party could move on. Took some reloading and resting but eventually we cleared the Fortress then when back and murdered the few non hostiles in the Warrens below. Didn't really gain anything from it but figure making sure the potential invading force was dead sounds like a good idea.
Went back to Targos and tried looking up what I really needed to grab before moving on. Ended up buying a fancy belt and some protective jewellery.
Then onto the next chapter and again I remembered why I quit last time, since you are bombarded by Boring beetles and spiders and giants and even if you take out the last two the beetles keep spawning until you find and destroy their spawn point. Except this time the Beetles weren't kicking my butt as much as last time. So spent some time murdering them for sport before deactivating the spawn point.
Figure I'll have some fights to pick next session since there is a shady merchant and prickly druids about. Alas the Merchant has a very nice sounding horn so will probably have to see if I can scrounge up the money for it first.

At this rate all future Bioware games will be half done and modders need to rescue it for free.

It is just so arrghh!!!! I was fighting agaisnt an undead dragon and winning so, what does the game do when it loses the internet connection? It sends you back to the main screen and you then see the fight has to be restarted:
