Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores Finished! I was a little hesitant about triggering the final quest, because Aloy was underlevelled, but it turned out not that bad. A couple of deaths against the Horus and maybe half a dozen against the man himself (in both cases while I was figuring out exactly what was required) and then it was the wrap up. Nice expansion, and glad I persisted with it. *begins eyeing Star Wars Outlaws* When's the first patch out, then? Man from me that first PT of the boss fight in Burning Shores induced a lot of rage and swearing!!!!! The part on the ground trying to find and hit the heat sinks almost had me quitting. As you said a lot of it was figuring out WTF I was supposed to do whilst getting constantly electrocuted and being attacked with Bath Bubbles from hell. Did you choose "love" with Seyka? I got all enthused for SW Outlaws the other day to the point of buying it then had second thoughts AGAIN. Yeah it's cool finas lmission but challenging t opul l off. I struggled a ttimes wi thit too even on Stor ymode don't know when I'll pla yagain but I ma yd osomewher in betwwen m yrun sof ME and DA sa I'll be going prett ydark once Veilguard is out as I'll jus tb ebus ygaming. So finished MEA yesterday, as always the end run from the return trip to Khi Tisara then to Meridian is pretty great. Had no real dramas as usual Cora and Drack kicked Kett butt and compared to the fight against The Archon's Sword it was a far easier. It is a shame that you cannot concentrate on all the banter by allies and also the Kett supremo dictating orders. I keep meaning to record it just so I can listen toit all but forget till I am in the fight. Pic's Aced the Movie Night acting Cora Cares Poor Scott and the poor Hyperion Dead Archon or is he a ghost in the machine? Yay we win and a kiss from the beautiful girl

At last, throughout many long hours we finally managed to achieve one of the game three endings. I was going to utilize the trIck to download the data from the PSN Cloud but, I am running a new playthrough and I think I will do just that there:

Ok, now we run into two very special bosses after the many horrors of the main game and the expansion. The first boss after getting out of that initial dungeon, the one who gave us trouble way back then. This time it I given it trouble. Then we visit a special map and get to the second set of Finger ruins in the expansion (the one below the church doesn't count):

Dragon Age Exodus
Finished The Last Straw on my alternate run. My canon executes Anders, so it was interesting to see the fallout with 100% Friendship Sebastian when silly mage Hawke spares her 100% Rivalry live-in Anders. Hawke doesn't approve of terrorism, and she was able to persuade Anders to atone by helping her put down the budding mage rebellion. According to Varric's tale, after Hawke was made Viscount, all of her companions moved on. Oh well. Hawke is now guaranteed safe from the Templars.

Dragon Age Inquisition
I got into the Hinterlands, started ploughing into these vast open spaces, and encountered the zoomed-out conversations, and found myself a little disinterested. The difference is so stark coming off of immediately finishing Exodus.
As my alternate, I was already planning on skipping Emerald Graves, Exalted Plains, Forbidden Oasis, and Emprise du Lion (not a big fan of the open-world design), though I added my canon-skipped Hissing Wastes and Jaws of Hakkon to the quest list. Now, I've also decided to skip some of the investigate NPC dialogue (not skipping companions, of course), and swapped from melee rogue to bow to cut down on some of the running around.
Admittedly, my interest has heightened again with the encounter at Val Royeaux, and I just recruited Sera, Vivienne, and Blackwall in short order. My Lavellan has just arrived at the Storm Coast to recruit The Iron Bull, and we'll see how things go from here.

Trails into ReverieSo started the game and am already at the start of Act 3. Figure the game is somewhat shorter than the others, but have also been just binging it. It's so good. So far there has been a buffet of returning characters, which is so neat. The new people are also amazing. There is a new feature called unity attacks, which uses the assault bar from Cold Steel 3/4 to pull off an attack/heal and gives you some battle points for Brave Orders and I'm just loving the feature. Kept hoarding the points if there might be a big guy around the corner but now I'm actually using them since the benefit is just fantastic. Am bouncing between doing pretty fine at combat and then regretting my life choices. But it's fun so far. Haven't gotten a ride along Mona yet but there is a new Minigame which features them heavily and I'm liking it so far. Some spoilers. For C route and the main dungeon stuff. Nadia's looks really reminds me of Hilda from Three Houses specially the post timeskip outfit. Personality is way different but found it neat none the same. And I freaking love Lapis whole look. Find the heterochromia a bit freaky, but looks super cool when she does the "The Doll's eye sees all" move. And the dress is so cute. Am feeling very proud of myself for realizing who C was pretty much right away. Decided to actually use the DLC outfits I got and it timed really nicely with the unlocking of costume items from the Reverie Corridor. So the crew is looking pretty fly. Want to post screenies but keep getting mesmerized by Altina's cool new glasses so keep forgetting about it.

Borderlands 3This came up in the PS Plus list a little while ago so I knew I was going to play it eventually. But then the wifey reminded me, and then I proved to myself a couple of times over, that this game actualyl has split screen co op. So the game shot up on the play list since well I figure it will be good, I like running through games with the wife even though I don't always like what she suggests but its fun times to do things together. Also with Veilguard running up she has made jokes about it consuming my soul and time or something so its also convenient timing. Of course I plan on keep on keeping on and playing PS Plus games even as I play Veilguard and especially this one but it might make a fun little time before Veilguard starts consuming more of my game time and well if I do multiple playthroughs of the game back to back (which I plan on doing since I spent a lot of money on it, unless I don't like it) another further apology. And I did enjoy Borderlands 2 and playing it before her mood took her away but now going back into it I am back in the 'what the heck am I doing...' mode and just blindly following the wife. It also is worth noting to that with the split screen, which I think the last time I played a split screen game was before Inquisition, it actually makes the scenery quite small and hard to read so my glasses will be needed for future play sessions. That and the Looter shooter element of the game is also a mega grind of constant inventory management. Still its fun. Gone for Kane first and am really enjoying his drone play and trying to remember and figure out his powers and what to use. Wife has gone for Moze. Gunplay is fun the haptics makes it fun as well. Also noticed that the map has a galaxy map which I also confirmed later we are going to other planets off of Pandora eventually which she was quite surprised and happy about and I remember hearing, and I believe a first for the series. Which is nice considering this is a space sci fi settign on another planet...what about other planets? And Lilith, not of the Gweneth Paltrow variety, is helping us out which is also fun because posters for the movie are all over the loading screens. MLB 24 the showThe other PS Plus game to play if the wife is not in the mood to play Borderlands and if i want to dip into it instead of catching up on Dragon Age. Its been awhile since I have been into Baseball. It used to be my favorite Professional Sport and loved the MLB. But recently there has just been one odd rule change after another which has really spoiled the game for me. Even explaining it to the wife, as best I could, and she thought it was stupid. But a free game is a 'free' game and I do want to check these rules out. And the pitch clock is actually a thing because I did this thing where I checked the phone in the middle of a pitch and got a ball for it. Alas though it kind of already is having the Hockey effect. Probably won't keep up with this game passed Veilguard but we'll see. Anyways though started with the usual buttons and UI caliberations and how I want to play. Once more had the decision of 'which difficulty do you want to play on' and Veteran being for 'players experienced with the game'. Now its been awhile but I have played the Show before so I kind of thought 'well lets give it a try. Relevant to this part to last time I played the Show I could barely hit a home run in the game to save my life...so all of this came to a head first game that I played between the Red Sox and the defending champs (I believe?...see how much I lost touch ) it surprised me after years of not playing I whooped them 6-1 and also hit three home runs in the game. So off to a good start. Although I just realized I have to make sure 'dynamic difficulty is off' if I play the game tonight and now I probably will. Next thing I did is I decided to create myself as #11 and a pitcher. My last name isn't in the database so borrowing the wife's for the announcer barks. Really tried to do fast and dirty since I don't know how much I will be sticking with this and may even delate said save but had to give it a peak. Also keeping Veilguard's CC in mind and some of the stuff we've seen in pictures...the triangles had their own values even here...and some of the beard options had different lengths to them. Next up though gave myself stats and seemed this game has some of the same problems as the last one in terms of pitching velocity. Felt like dragging it all the way to max because even then it said my pitch velocity is 93 MPH. In the game going around its 99-101. Oi. Doom on this game I guess. Sad thing is though seems I am not as good as I was in previous games...though maybe going down to Rookie will solve that. I mean I didn't max out all my stats just a lot of them. And yeah I stink it seems. Played games against the Rockies and the...Brewers. First off the rule changes, one of them, the NL now also has the DH. Kind of udnerstandable but also kind of sad because it made Baseball unique. Makes batting stats superfilious. But yes against the Rockies went 7 strong innings but had a 3 run sixth inning which gave me issues. Think I might have made a couple of home runs in it though and won 7-3. Next game though was rough. Rafi Devers hit a home run second batter of the game and started off confident...but who knew that would be my last run...for awhile. Plus I didn't even make it through 6 innings. They really drove my pitch count up through the roof with a lot of walks, high pitch strikeouts, and just long at bats with fouls. This had me like 110 + pitches going into the sixth...then they hit a three run home run off me. 3-1. A couple more hits and I...toook myself out of the game. Got through the rest of the inning but then the next inning they put up a 4 spot on the reliever and...well this game has weird fielding and really weird base running controls. Some stuff to either think about changing or getting used to. Worse case in point that led to a couple of runs, granted might have been getting tired to, but they shot a ball through the middle of the infield...I sometimes do this thing where I accidentally place the joystick in the wrong directing. Well the second basemen was initially under control and he still went towards the ball and quite sure I got it done in time...but then out of nowhere the Center fielder went away from the ball...in center...so it rolled away and think a couple runs scored. Got a late run in the 8th but still lost 7-2 so I have like...a 2-2 record so far? Similar to the real Sox. Quite tempted if I do continue with this to make my super team. Other then that I do of course enjoy the haptics of this game. The crack of the bat feels weird but its also very...cracky. And pulse pitching is a neat idea but still working on the timing. Might be a reason why I 'suck.' One of them.

"Rise, Son of Guilliman!"
Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2
What an all around epic game. I played through the campaign on veteran difficulty because the selection said it was the experience intended by the developers. It felt like being dropped into an actual planetary siege by Tyranids. Hundreds and hundreds of them swarming the battlefield, climbing over each other to form a living ramp to get over barricades, the larger monsters walking between them.
A magazine called it "a playable love letter to the Warhammer universe" and that's what it really feels like. It respects the franchise and the first Space Marine game (2011) by Relic Entertainment. There is an incredible sense of scale, from the massive launch bay of the Battle Barge to the towering hive city of Avarax.
Combat is visceral and bloody (as is proper for the franchise) with over 50 finishing moves (there's an achievement for it). The cutscenes are polished and deliver quite a few "oh, WOW!" moments, right until the campaign's very satisfying finale and ending.
I read all the end credits in silent amazement.

MLB the Show 24
So did go through and do my thing where I checked the settings and it seems...I am not on dynamic difficulty. So that is a good thing. Granted I did not see the dynamic difficulty setting at all so a bit worried.
It did seem to all work out well though as another win for me and probably the most complete start I had overall. Though ran into problems once more of giving up pitches and having deep counts and had multiple batters just fouling off pitches on two strikes driving the pitch count up. Had a couple of trouble innings as I had to go dance through the pressure. Namely in the sixth with the pitch count balooning but decided to push it to the 7th and had a quick seventh. Bullpen came in and instantly gave up a run, and then the next weird MLB rule that I forgot about came in. I guess you can't change pitchers till they have gotten an out...which kind of makes some sense in the end but it does lead to issues where if the pitcher is starting to suck then you have no choice but to let them pitch. So should just be a batter. All worked out though. Curtis Martin finished it off.
On the offensive front did quite well. Fourth inning I believe got off to three straight hits the coup being the three run homer by Tyler O'Neill. The next one had a homer from the catcher Wong...who later drove in a run. Kind of figured out how to do the base running thing, you can use the analog stick...which did lead to one of my runs. 5-1 Red Sox.
Borderlands 3
Continued on and with glasses things are a lot better. The wife said "I can tell you are really enjoying this game"...which sure I guess. Some interesting improvements from the first one. Though the looter-shooter element of it makes it a bit grindy.
But cool guns. Found a steam punky sniper rifle and a big arse AR which can also fire grenades for its alt fire. Oh a previous sniper rifle also had a bipod attachment. So that was neat. But the AR the grenades going to have to continue to play with it but its a really interesting concept, not sure if the grenades will be worth it though.
On the story front I did remember a review of this game mentioned being...really weirded out about all the modern references. And our first mission against the big bads were running around them as they were live streaming, doing Lets Plays, and also trying to do stream deals and stuff. Also they had speakers around the base which would emmit giant sounds that could hurt you. This came up for the boss fight where we were facing off against their 'mouth piece' and he had the arena lined with those speakers which would just knock us down. Wife discovered too late that the center of the room was a safe zone...which would have brought us right smack dab against him...BUT it didn't matter as we prevailed, despite some really close calls.

At this rate all future Bioware games will be half done and modders need to rescue it for free.

Dragon Age Inquisition
Just fought through the thrilling confrontation at Haven, and Lavellan survived a blizzard, a song, and an official empowering. It has been a while since I played through, and even though my Lavellan is a firm believer in the Creators and denies being the Herald, I, as the player, was brought to tears by the "The Dawn will Come" sequence.
I am also impressed by the difference in some of the Dalish dialogue. Admittedly, I am still glad I didn't go with a Lavellan as canon, as the dialogue choices are a minefield of immersion issues. Still, I really liked the sequence where Solas is talking to Lavellan about the orb, future race relations, and hints about Skyhold.
There were a few dry spells in the early game, but I am now fully committed and excited to continue. Lavellan just finished speaking with Hawke about Wardens and Anders, and will now strike out on his first mission from Skyhold.

Ok, today we head to do some side bosses and acquire a very special sword made out of stone. You just need to awaken a flame golem to pass to the place it is guarding adding a second one of those enemies in the same area:

MLB 24 the show The other PS Plus game to play if the wife is not in the mood to play Borderlands and if i want to dip into it instead of catching up on Dragon Age.
