Made it onto the leviathan in KotOR. Juhani was very helpful in that regard.
prior to that, I got Bastilla to kiss me. So that was fun.

Still doing my Carthago game in Civ V.
Approaching the end. I think I can get a diplomatic win this time. (I've only ever won by science win, previously.)
It's been very peaceful and very evenly balanced between 6 empires. One reason for all the peace is probably that Sweden and Assyria finished off Djingis Khan and Napoleon rather early.
Another reason is my military dominance. Everybody has denounced me. I have no religion of my own. I'm alone with Freedom ideology. Everybody else is having Order, which they have also now made World ideology. They also tried to embargo me. They'll probably try to embargo City states, because I've moved all my trade to them, in anticipation of everybody allying up and war declaring me. I haven done anything to anybody, yet they hate me.
They don't dare to do anything, though. I spend all my income on maintenance of military units. My bet is that the peace will keep. If I can't afford it, they can't afford to match me. I've only got one City state left to ally, then I've got them all. I'll have the majority of votes.
I didn't get any Uranium though. Not even from my City allies. If they nuke me, I'll fight them with conventional means. I think I have a good chance anyway.

Purchased signal from soma on gog. It looks pretty good for who made it (same people that made sir you are being hunted).
Not sure its worth more then 1 or 2 play through's, but I think you'll get your money out of the time you put into it. The map is huge.
Playing KotOR 2, got myself to Telos. And sided with the Ithorians, because Fuck Czerka Corporation. Slaving, thieving bastards that they are.
I'm actually using a feild survival pistol as my primary weapon. With the mods I'm working on constructing, trying to get its base damage past 6 right now (its between 4 & 9 atm). I would like to find a full blaster I can mod to heck and back. But for now, every blaster pistol I've found isn't modable.
I think I'm going to stick with the blaster pistol, as my primary for most of the game. Giving myself some skills with a light saber for the end of the game. I'm not sure why, but I like the idea of a jedi using a blaster instead of a light saber. Mostly because its such a ridiculous idea. I mean, who would expect a jedi to reach for a tiny blaster instead of a light saber? And then have that itty bitty blaster blow a hole through their armor like it was paper.
It might just be sleep deprivation, but that really tickles me atm.

Just as I predicted, I pulled off a "diplomatic victory" in my Civ V Cartagho game. After +35 hours.
I formed alliances with all 16 City States and elected myself as World Leader with 44 votes.
Thoughts: Again I'm struck by how important the City States are in Civ V. I'm leaning towards that they are the pivot point for success in Civ V. Of course, Culture is extremely important also. And being friendly with City States is rather expensive. Still, it's worth it. It pays off.
I was denounced by everybody for 180 turns. I wouldn't have been able to hold off war if it wasn't for my ridiculous military. I ended up with 60 units, at the maintenance cost of 713 gold/turn. So there are many dimensions to a diplomatic win.

Met Atris in KotOR 2. Those extra scenes that the restoration mod puts back in, are awesome.

I early accessed Everspace. On principle I usually avoid doing that, but this game had such good reception and full release is out next month. Very slick game play and visuals. Runs really good on my PC.

Got back into Firewatch today. I started playing it before MEA came out, and just picking it back up again now. I'm enjoying the dialogue between the characters (for the most part). Some of the protag's dialogue feels like it misses the mark though. I like the art style, the colours, the music. The level design is pretty straightforward, nothing too ingenious. You think the game is going to play one way, then a few mystery elements drop in (the girls at the lake, overhearing a obviously suspicious discussion with Delilah I wasn't supposed to...) and now I'm paying much more attention to what's happening around me and the things I find. I have a feeling I better find a gun before I get too much further in the game...

I actually dug out my PS2 today. Fired up the orignal Mercenaries. That game is fun. I played the hell out of it a while back though. The last save I have in it, is from 2010. Hard to belive the game is that old. But it sure is still fun. Credit where its due.
Stopped playing after a bit, as I had a craving to get back into KotOR2. But that was a serious nostalgia trip, playing that game again.

The one thing about these mystery games that always irks me is when you figure out what's really going on ahead of schedule. But you still have to carry on with the game (for who knows how long) with your protog not having a clue. I'm still enjoying the game, but I'm kinda at my protag now.

The one thing about these mystery games that always irks me is when you figure out what's really going on ahead of schedule. But you still have to carry on with the game (for who knows how long) with your protog not having a clue. I'm still enjoying the game, but I'm kinda at my protag now. Okay, just finished up Firewatch. The ambiance the game creates with its art style, music (wished there was more in the game though), was very well done. Especially in the final stretch with the fire raging all around. The audio cues the game gives you throughout were a nice touch as well (especially at one moment near the end that made me laugh). I also thought the text-based choices start to the game was worked in well. Delilah's dialogue and VA were solid through the entire game. And while I thought the Protag's VA was good, the writing was... a bit hit and miss for me. Mostly it worked though, so I was happy with that. I liked the story with Henry trying to work out his issues with his wife and Delilah simultaneously making things both better and worse. The mystery elements worked well I thought, right up until I figured out what was really going on. Then I felt I had to go through the motions for the remainder of the game, with my protag clueless right through the end of the game. A few spoilers ahead: I felt the ending was a bit abrupt though, and I really wish we could have met Delilah. But, I can get why they went that way though given the style of the game. In the end I chose to go back to Julia and would have even if I didn't know (about halfway through the game) that she was working with Ned to play this game on Henry. Unfortunately, I must have missed some crucial, slam-dunk evidence tying them together, so he goes into hiding leaving some convenient "evidence" for me to find exonerating her. And Delilah goes off to... wherever. So, not the satisfying ending I was hoping for and it all wraps up somewhat bittersweet. But the journey is well worth it, and I can easily recommend this game. At some point I'll dig around on YT and figure out if there some little things I missed along the way.

Played some masters of orion, first time re-installing it since all those new updates.
Created a huge glaxy, with 8 different races. I'm playing the cat people for once, and am enjoying it. But then I always enjoy this early game.
Right now I'm working on grabbing as much territory as I can. Which involves colonizing 1 planet inside a solar system.
Then I play on colonizing worlds inside my controlled solar systems. And then, building up a giant navy to defend myself with.

Played a bit of ground control 1 today. And its pretty good overall. Hard to believe its from 2000, but it is.
And it has Jennifer Hale in it, so that helps it alot. But the actual game mechanics are solid, and the first mission was pretty awesome. Great map design, unit placement, and just supporting game mechanics overall. I wasn't sure what I was expecting from this game, but its above my expectations so far.
If it can keep that up, then so much the better.

Played some Battlefront 2. Not that remake thing they're putting together (which I doubt won't have a season pass, or dlc. It'll just be called something different). So I killed me some clankers in the campaign. Cleared Kasyyyk space and ground.
That game is fun. Very very hectic. But fun. That Kasyyyk ground battle was a close one. I was down to about 20 reinforcements by the time the mission was over. Mostly it was me being stupid. Every time they gave me an objective to hold, I went off and did more. For example, they said to fall back behind the wall. And I thought 'forget that, I'll hop in a sabre tank, and hold the beach while the npc's secure the line behind the wall'. And clones died while I held the beach until I was destroyed. Took about 50 droids with me, but I lost. Then once I re-spawned, I went behind the wall, and only then did the mission advance.
Even still, had a blast. Pretty sure I had a smile on my face the entire time I played.
*sigh* GOG is aptly named (Good Old Games).

I'm playing through Pillars of Eternity again and I think I forgot how long this game is.
I'm currently running around Dyrford to find ruins and avoid a Spider Queen, good thing there's only two in the whole game. After that I'll be going to the Endless Paths, not something I'm really excited for but the completionist in me won't let me skip it.
Then I'll probably get back to hunting Thaos and trying to not go completely insane...

Still playing SOMA (~14 hours so far), though I feel like I'm closing in on the ending. When the game is good, it is very good. Some great dialogue, decent premise, and some good horror moments (though it takes a long time before we get to any genuinely scary moments). But, and I can hardly believe I'm saying this, it's too long. And your tasks are too repetitive. There's a whole section in the middle I wish had either been condensed or offered a wider variety of gameplay. A lot of these stations are starting to blur together now and while the narrative is good, they didn't need to stretch it out this long. Heh, and I feel like BioWare should be getting a cut here as this game pretty shamelessly steals not only their (Reaper) art-style, but some tech names as well (eg. Omni-Tool). EDIT: Finished the game! The last leg was very good and ends on a very strong, bittersweet note. It really sticks the landing here. I'm gonna give this one an 8/10.

I just killed the Adra Dragon! It's never happened before and I just sided with her since she seems impossible to kill. But I finally did it. This is probably one of the best moments in the game for me

Started playing Syberia 3 tonight. Just a couple of hours in, and despite some gameplay, lipsyncing, and naviation quirks, I'm enjoying it. Definitely the right pick to come down from SOMA. Still has that Syberia charm to it, as well as the interesting puzzles and fanciful designs for many of its collectibles. You pick up a "key" early on in this game which looks like, I dunno, a sonic screwdriver exploded and I'm like... what am I even looking at? And even the game's quirks are more funny than annoying. At one point, one of your friends tells you there's "something" in the hospital you're in that'll help you with your current problem. "Something." Thanks bud, that was... really not helpful in the slightest. But thanks for narrowing it down to a "thing" as opposed to, say, an "abstract concept". Or when you send off that complex "key" for repair, by carrier-owl no less, and one 30 second conversation later... it's back. Okay, well... the owl's a Time Lord. I think I know where they're going with this game! The music is once again composed by Inon Zur and is fantastic. Definitely stopped just to listen to the title screen track a couple of times. As for navigation - take the game's advice and use a controller if you plan on playing it. I sometimes use a mouse as well just to scrub locations quickly for interactive areas, but for everything else I use the controller.
