So lets see...actually just played the Show. Four games. 3-1 record. The loss was one of those really frustrating ones 2 runs on eleven hits. Though I did run myself out of a couple of innings so there was that too. First game was fun though. This entire season I had hit no Grand Slams. Against the Angels I hit 2. Making it 10-0 at one point. Unfortunatley I needed every single one of those runs though as it ended up being 10-8 as Chris Sale gave up 7 earned in four and two thirds innings. Which just raised his ERA to 1.75...which its his turn to have a rough patch, last three starts for him L, ND, ND...so yeah that's annoying. My last game I won 7-3 and Price threw a gem (for him anyways) 7 innings, only 3 earned, with eleven Ks. JD Martinez and Steave Pearce hit the Grand Slams.

Yeah, I've been playing NWN2 a bit recently and while it's not bad and I don't really have an issue with isometric rpgs, it's definitely less accessible due to having fewer QoL features and a less refined RP system than most of the modern isometric rpgs I've played. It just shows its age compared to Obsidian's more recent output, DOS2 or the Shadowrun games.

Yeah I tried BG about 12 months ago and it was just too frustrating and I stopped at Candle keep. Yeah it's a bit hard for me to get into isometric RPGs. I'm probably the only one who may play NWN 1 & 2 someday in the future again. Obsidian Gryphon Try to start with the 2nd expansion. That underground crypt is a fun starter. But I'm a bit too nostalgic with the original campaign... one of my first 3 RPGs. As much as anything it's the pace of the game, the travel in particular is so slow and the combat is painful at times.

Designed desalination solution in ONI. With a cooling loop. Then found out I need 1200 W for the cooling machine alone. Decided to use the nearby nat gas vent for energy procurement. While doing that my drecko ranch lost its mealwoods because of overheating farm tiles. I need that cooling.
Further down east I spotted thermal nullifier and I was like: hey, why not cool petroleum with that? Or at least polluted water. Only ever tried with gas cooling. But that is further down the line. For now I actually consider installing electrolyzers first since I dont know how much longer my algae will last.

Kingdom Come Deliverance - I can safely say that Bethesda type RPGs and their clones are not my cup of tea. This game feels better than Skyrim (probably because it's tighter on the story front without so much emphasis on the sandbox), but still doesn't make me want to come back and continue my journey. The side quests (heck, even the main one) are a giant sequence of fetch tasks that send you running all over the map. Just a quick breakdown of a main quest: 1) A village was attacked - go investigate. 2) Find clues around the village - a culprit escaped, find him somewhere on the map among several possible camps. 3) Culprit found, but he points you to another guy in some town. 4) Visit town, nobody saw the new suspect in days. Talk around until given several possible locations to visit and find the suspect. 5) Find suspect, but he dies and gives you a clue to YET ANOTHER M*****F*****G suspect in a farm somewhere. 6) Go to farm and receive YET ANOTHER M*****F*****G detour to another farm. 7) Find suspect and finally receive... a possible location to a bandit camp you need to attack... I am kinda up to this point and trust me, I don't really look forward to continue with this game
And all of this takes a crapload of time running around with the additional need of sleeping, eating, feeding the dog, etc. boring stuff. Side questing ain't better too. Almost every side quest I saw so far past the tutorial phase tries to force you to run around the whole map before completion. Oh, you want to help this sick person? Go to the other side of the map to have a conversation with some random NPC and then come back. But you need to do this for at least three sick people before the quest counts as complete (among other boring stuff you need to do, including BLOODY weeding a garden). Oh, you thought it's easy to chase away a ghost that haunts a fat old lady? Steps included thus far:
1) Talk to the angry woman to be sent to the woods. 2) Talk to herbalist in the woods and be sent back to angry woman. 3) Blabber some meaningless dialogue options. 4) Wait a day (time skip or whatever, but don't forget to eat/sleep/feed dog...not in RL, dufus, but don't forget to do it there too). 5) Get sent to another NPC for more advice. 6) Get sent to a monastery to steal a book... Monastery is locked for me at this point, so I am stuck until it opens up. But why can't I just stand guard in front (or inside) of the haunted house and BEAT THE LIVING CRAP out of the ghost impersonator (my wild guess)?
There are some funny quests, but most of them are just trying to artificially increase your game time with pointless running from NPC to NPC to NPC to NPC to NPC to... you get the idea. By the time you get to the quest end you have probably forgotten what started it in the first place. KOTOR was such a good example with 95% of the quests tightly packed to the same planet and creating a really nice atmosphere while telling all kinds of different stories. I need more of that instead of open world horse simulator.
Meanwhile from a short run in the prologue of Crysis 3 - YOU CAN PIN ENEMIES TO THE WALLS!!! Now I need that shoulder gun with a red triangle reticule and some trees to run on and my Predator dream game is done.

But I'm a bit too nostalgic with the original campaign... one of my first 3 RPGs. Well for me, it's not because NWN is isometric. I enjoyed playing newer isometric games like Pillars of Eternity II, Pathfinder Kingmaker, Divinity Original Sins 2. The problem with NWN is the dated game play. I've grown to like / prefer the newer rpgs that are voice acted because they enhance immersion, the much improved features in inventory, better map transition, clearer and more varied detailed environment elements and versatile combat in which environment can play a key role in victory (DOS II). If the game has an excellent narrator as well, DOS II, then it's even better. I'm not sure when I would try NWN again. I was turned off by the blocky and bland colours of the graphics. The walls of text was also not helpful in kindling the fires of interest. Mind you, the problems I listed were not an issue when I played those old titles back then but they are now, considering the leaps of development and innovation in rpgs over the years.

Stop it yousa people... your 20th playthrough of Skyrim, FO4 or Assassin's Creed Odyssey should end now! There is so many good games out there (mostly old) to do such repetition! Some of the older games can be hard to get into. Recently I tried to play NWN again but found I couldn't continue after 15 minutes. Sometime ago I played Grim Fangango and enjoyed it so there's that odd contrast. I played the old 2D fallout games to death back in the day, same as the Baldur's Gate games, not to mention I was a modder for those games plus I was a beta tester for Beamdog. It will be a long time before I start up a BG game. NWN had fugly graphics the day it was released and even worse now by today's standards. I have a hard time getting into Dragon Age Origins, the graphics are so dated and distracting. That was another game I used to play to death back then.

Been cleaning up downtown Boston of the raider scum. They're like roaches, kill them off and a few days later they're back again. Met a deathclaw up on the roof of a building. How the f**k did it get way up there? Thought about moving along the main quest by going to the Glowing Sea, but nah. My favorite place, Nuka World, is calling me. I may be on fire but I'm going to eat your spleen to replenish my health. Deathclaw, you mean dinner? Your mouth is saying one thing but your eyes are telling me another. Don't trust you. Her sniper rifle since her service in the Resources Wars.

<< My biggest fear in a previous life. The daily reality of our days. A vague nightmare once, now the norm. Worse than what I thought. This...is what means a world without empathy.. >> << And... a world without empathy isn’t worth it.. >>
<< Human beings have failed. Again. And they brought me up into hell with them.... Without my wife. Dead. I hate them for that. My only joy. Removed from me, alone, my soul almost empty. We deserved our fate. However, in the face of so much uncertainty and suffering, I can not sit back and do nothing. I still believe in a world where children can grow up in peace, laugh and see a bright future. Where maybe my son could have grown up. There are still children in America, no matter how much unrecognizable and ruthless. >>
<< Here I am again.. at war… against the whole fucking world. There shall be no other road, there shall be no other alternative. >>
It’s been six months since the nuclear accident… Josh trying all this time to survive in a new post war America, eating, sleeping, killings things, everyday... affected and angry, feeling terribly empty without all that angryness. A sinister and tasteless world, that you’d think almost black and white, the tension of the most vivid among the inhabitants of the Commonwealth. For many years the good mood no longer exists, the bursts of laughter have disappeared. Each face is marked by worry, fear, dismay and sadness. All feel the decadence of the present day, even if they have never known anything else. Mad but strangely very rational since the death of his wife and the disappearance of his son, especially struck by the transformation of the world in which in lives now, Josh in his despair and fury found a new goal, almost unattainable. To bring back peace and justice, to restore order and stability in the Commonwealth. If not possible, he would rather die than seeing what he considers the definite fall of humanity : selfishness ruling the world without any hope to change its effects. Without mercy, determined, full of idealism. Self-proclaimed vigilante, lone wolf with a warrior spirit and inaccessible to doubts, destroyer of chaos, bloodthirsty enemy of established disorder. . Josh chose his camp, almost alone against all, in the face of death and all his followers behind it. Lurking in the shadows, sowing death on his way, leaving pools of blood and smoking bodies behind him. Any raider, any monster, any evil man threatening, was warned... if not... it was the same fate anyway.. There is nothing more dangerous than an armed idealist.

It seems strange to me that we have three FO playthroughs going on right now...at least.
But I'm not here to talk about that, I am here to talk about Ace Combat 7...Strangereal I'm baaaaccckkk.
So as I noted I am starting my official second PT of this game. On Hard. With my preffered F-22 unlocked from the beginning with good weapons and good equipment.
Despite my initia fears of being on Hard and playing with the game's time limits I was a bit nervous that I was going to...well do rather horribly all things considered and end up using a lot of time. I am happy to report that, so far at least, this has not been the case through the first 5 missions. Only took a splattering of double A fire. Though I am having a little trouble remembering the controls and remembering to use them, I still do not remember the button that launches my chaff and flares to spoof missiles.
Also despite some reservation on this point I am pleased to report that Brownie's death still effects me...probably not nearly as much as the first time but I was worried that the emotional impact from Playthrough 1 would be pretty much non exisistent. But so far it does seem like it does.
Nothing really happened till mission 4 but that was a fair few surprises and redos. Apparently I am pretty much immortal in my 5th Gen Stealth Fighter but my allies...are not. First time, got detected by the radar, second time MG 1 got shot down...even though it does no matter what you do for the mission *ahem*... Third time I actually ran out of time (I thought that was supposed to happen)...and fourth time I was not expecting the end cutscene to play but in hindisight firing 8 AA Missiles into a formation with the helicopter the President of your nation is flying...should probably cause said cutscene. So dead President...I got blamed for it...off to the penal unit....and te suddenness and anticipation of the scene ruined the dramatic timing of that particular scene.
Off to Spare Squadron! So deciding which plane I should try to fly which is just the right amount of trashy but also still cool enough to hold its own...going to go with the F-18...at least for the initial mission probably going to switch to F-16 for the ground attack stuff...that's going to be fun. I also forgot to put the right skin on the plane to start with...with the three strikes...so I restarted.
In the Show:
I was on the mound and actually had a fairly great game against the Yankees. One hit (A Home Run to Aaron Judge) was all I gave up. 10+ strikeouts. No walks. On the offenisve side of the ball Devers hit ANOTHER grandslam...which put an exclamation point on a 6 run inning that I batted around in. JD Martinez also contributed as did Dustin Pedroia and Steve Pearce added 3 RBIs for a 10-1 game. Nothing like being able to put in my scrubs AGAINST THE YANKEES.

But so far it does seem like it does. We never see the body or hear the plane exploded without her ejecting so in my mind she is alive and nobody can prove I’m wrong. I flew a two person jet after that one playthrough to headcanon her as the second (poor copilot never getting any acknowledgment). Shooting down Mihaly(I hate that he lives. Biggest gripe about the game.) was so cathartic that playthrough.

And I also had a bit of a headcannon too last night which is why I ended up choosing the F-18 for my RP since that has a RIO too. I figure the Rio wouldn't be an actual prisoner but just a glorified guard to keep an eye on the prisoner pilots...especially the really dangerous ones like me.

I'm playing Venetica. (for the first time) I'll start by saying it doesn't like you Alt Tabbing out. For me at least on Win 10 (which GOG say is supported) it crashes, and if you try to bring up task manager, it comes up behind the frozen game, so you have to do a hard reset. Things went down hill petty fast when assassins attacked the town. i.imgur.com/k08ufbx.jpgThen Bennie took a knife in the back to save me. i.imgur.com/099ZrZL.jpgThe writing got a bit more cringe-worthy i.imgur.com/UL1JPbR.jpgI think my goodie-two-shoes Scarlet is about ready to leave her hometown, I'm liking it so far.

I posted it on the "Gaming News" thread yesterday thinking that it was this one I've been playing Danganronpa, excelent series. Finished the first two game and I'm in the first chapter. The thing is that one certain event really pissed me off and I don't know if I'll resume it. Don't get me wrong, it's an excelent writing and it was a genius idea, but I still got angry. For two whole games I had to deal with boring protagonists, and when I finally get a protagonist that has an actual ultimate talent, they deny me her and kill her.

Started playing Knights And Bikes in co-op. I got to play the law abiding but bossy redhead and the boyfriend is playing the dark haired rule bending emo girl. This couldn't have been a more apt role distribution, lol. The characters are not voiced so we decided to do some voice acting ourselves. My balcony door was open, so now my neighbors probably think I've completely lost my mind. But hey, we had a blast!
It's a super cute game with laugh out loud moments. The gameplay took some getting used to because the screen would follow one girl while the other character often ended up being off screen. But once we got the hang of it, it was great. Running around making funny engine sounds and stealing the bike from the other. We've only played about 2 hours so far but will definitely continue.

Finished Man of Medan today. It's short but brilliant. I managed to save all but one character in my blind PT, only had to redo the last section to get them all safe. Tuens out all my misses and bad mistakes led to the good ending. It's good in that if you do everything "right" you might not get the ending you want.

Van Helsing Final Cut
Finished chapters 2 and 3. That boss at the end of chapter 3 was end boss for original first game, wasn't it (didn't played old games)? Katarina's banter is hilarious, I like her. Oh almost forgot, saved Private Bryan at the start of chapter 4.

I spent a bunch of time over the long weekend restarting Assassin's Creed: Odyssey and definitely enjoyed my time with it more being able to spend a few hours at once instead in small 30min or less chunks. I think I made it further this weekend in about 3 hours then I had previously in more time just in small blocks. For I made it to almost the end of the starting area while completing all the little things along the way.

Fallout 4. Nuka World. Started to clear out the zones by doing Dry Rock Gulch by exterminating the pesky varmints there, yee haw! Collected the Star Cores that were there and also got some from the outlying areas not in the amusement zones. Trying to get as many Star Cores so I don't have to collect as much in the Galactic Zone. And now I'm in Galactic Zone searching for Star Cores so I can disable the defense mod. I try and preserve as many robots as I can. It keeps the place lively. Went to Vault-Tec: Among the Stars and secured the cores from there with the lost of 2 robots. They were blocking my way out so I had no choice. Now I need 6 more cores and RobCo Battlezone is the place to get them. I will have to do that when I get home from work, I have to leave for work soon. Usually not many robots survive in Battlezone, not a big deal. I like to keep as many functioning in Galactic Zone and Nuka-Galaxy.

Free uplay+ month so I might.. I MIGHT get a start on the Assassin's Creed franchise with the AC 1-3 (including internal sequels) games. MIGHT MIGHT. I see it as 3 eras of AC so far and I'd really love to at least catch up on the first. The third (Origins, Odyssey, onward) will have to wait for a better PC.
Oh and I'm playing lots of mobile games, Masquerada: Songs and Shadows, Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition, and WoW Classic (plus Allods Online and Neverwinter whenever I get tired of that).
Partner and I are sharing time playing the Antihero digital board game. And I'm joining a friend to first try Baldur's Gate with several others (was a shitshow) but now we're going to see about Path of Exile.
The mobile games are again, a lot, but: Mobius Final Fantasy, FFXVPE as mentioned, Pokemon Masters, Another Eden, Magikarp Splash, Magia Record, and One Punch Man Road to Whatever I forget this game is forgettable. And daily Wizards Unite walks or jogs.
If I didn't have all these games in my life I'm sure my paladin would be past Redridge or Duskwood right now, but I'm stuck in Westfall - and half the time I'm tinkering with addons.
Glad Elder Scrolls Online is giving away its Imperial City DLC soon but after claiming it I probably won't play it yet. If I sub into or buy a MMO for Oct it might be WoW again, or maybe SWTOR for its expansion release or less likely Archeage for its totally-not-P2W-now-we-swear version.

Witcher 1 extra adventures
I decided to play these in order of how they are listed in the menu.
So, I load up the first one, realize I'm back in the f'ing swamp, and look around for what I'm supposed to do. Find some people to talk to, click on the first one and.....there's no sound. The subtitles were running fine but there was no voice. I shut the game down, Google me some info and learn that, oh, some of these modules are fan-made, not official, so they have no voice acting. Really? Maybe that could be noted somewhere in the game menu so I don't think my damn game is broken?
Anyway, after much fetch-questing and silent reward, I'm beckoned deeper into the swamp by a Lady of the Lake look-alike. Get knocked cold 4 times to summon the same lady again, only for her to direct me to the cave I had passed on the way there. Go kill bad guy, she says. Ok, Geralt replies. Well, as usual in Witcher-land, it wasn't such a clear cut case. Turns out the "bad guy" is an exiled scientist trying to cure some awful disease and his experiments are what is causing the nymph's swamp problems. Needless to say, Geralt didn't kill him but did tell him to get out of the swamp. Overall - kinda lame.
Second one loaded up and, after the intro cutscenes, I get the level up menu to allocate talent points (unfortunately, it's not possible to import/use regular game Geralt so in both modules I started out at lower level). Problem is, I have a mod installed to allow me access to all talents at the start of the game. This doesn't work here though because the screen won't let me exit out of it until I allocate ALL the points (unlike regular game) and there are 2 too many even after everything is leveled up to the max. I had to exit the game and finally the only way I could get rid of the menu and back to the game was to disable the mod. The game still gave me some talent points to level up and once I allocated them all, then I could close that screen.
Anyway, the second module is an official one, with cutscenes and spoken dialogues. Geralt is headed back to Kaer Morhen for the winter (takes place before the war with Nilfgaard) but runs into a camp of mercenaries escorting a noble and one Sabrina Glevissig, who are chasing after the noble's runaway sister (who is also the heir to their local throne since she's older than the guy with Sabrina).
I haven't finished this one yet but, given what I know of Sabrina from the books and games, I'm not keen on agreeing with or helping her in any way. We'll see how far that gets me. Best part of this one so far is getting to pal around with grump Lambert, daddy figure Vesemir, and almost normal guy for a witcher, Eskel.

Finished Man of Medan today. It's short but brilliant. I managed to save all but one character in my blind PT, only had to redo the last section to get them all safe. Tuens out all my misses and bad mistakes led to the good ending. It's good in that if you do everything "right" you might not get the ending you want. I had a feeling that might be the case... So New Vegas: Got some progress finally made in the game. Chasing down all the com officers for the Ranger stations so I can give them the new codes. With that out of the way she was all like... hey listen now I need you to go back out to another set of stations and confirm some weird Intel I've been getting. Talking to the officers in question they were all like "what...we didn't do that?! Whose saying we did". So apparently someone's been manipulating the Intel reports. Track it down to Camp Golf and talked to their com guy...chief Hanlon. Yes it was obvious it was him but I don't believe the quest itself gave me a smoking gun. Still I confronted him and we had a chat in his office about him falsifying reports to scare the NCR and save lives. Naturally I turned him in since even though it might be a fool's errand Caesar's Legion has to be stopped. After that had to investigate who was attacking an NCR settlement. Went into a cave and got insta exploded. Put two .44 rounds in his head for punishment. Turns out the NCR had kicked the great khans out of there... and their women and children got caught in the cross fire. Nice.
