Started Witcher 2 but didn't get far. I spent a stupid amount of time replaying the first ballista scene to make sure I got the guy and he didn't duck. Had to YouTube it to see exactly where to aim the somewhat ambiguous crosshairs. How Foltest could see the guy's red feather is beyond me. Geralt should have better eyesight by far but there was no feather, and certainly nothing red visible through the spyglass.
I didn't import a save this time. So far the only difference is Adda being dead instead of un-striga'd. I guess default Geralt didn't forgive her for trying to imprison him. But since I only played through the first flashback I haven't seen much yet. The second flashback involves another ballista (did they have a sale on them or something for this game? they are everywhere!) so I decided to quit the game and continue on later.
This game is certainly prettier than the first one, and Triss no longer sounding like Cora is an improvement. Lips don't seem to move when people talk though, which is a little disconcerting.
I love the start 0f TW2, right up unto the part where Triss drops her shield at Flotsam!!!!! Flotsam is a good concept nut rather ugly. Are you using MODS? That Ballista thing is just ridiculous!!!!!!

Greedfall I feel the devs could have taken a bit more work with the quests. I did one of the mains and went to see the Hikmet gov about something else. All of a sudden, he launched an avalanche of dialogue about very early events after talking about the present quest. *sigh* Bridge rep is still suspicious. At this point, I don't know if I give a freck.

A lot of backwards and forwards and then do it all again with a trip across the map and back again thrown in. I have given up worrying about reputations between the nations but the Natives love me and that's all I care about. I think I progressed the romance with Aphra as I got some "heart" comments and she seemed to agree about being together but she's still only "Friendly".

Yeah, I think I don't give a freck about the Bridge. Not after what I've just completed. They can go f*** themselves. The rep went all the way down. Minus 10. They better not ask Lady De Sadet to do something for them. I didn't check Kurt's status though I did initiate another heart conversation with him.

I started Limbo again today. I like the creepy feeling of that game, but the spider is a bit too much creep. I escaped her three times now and I know, she will be back. So I will continue on anotehr day and calm my nerves with a bit of Kingdom of Amalur - yeah, they have spiders too, but not nearly as creepy as the Limbo spider, who is regulary on 'creepiest creatures in video games'-lists. I have neglected KoA for a while now, don't know, why, but I really want to finish it. Tbh, it does interest me more than Skyrim. I had messed up my SKyrim files with some mod and have to do a new install, but so far, I haven't had the urge to play more. It's a beautiful game too, but somehow I didn't get into the gameplay as I did back in teh days with Morrowind.

Fallout 4 Downloaded a mod that lets Preston ignore if you are the Overboss of the Nuka World raiders. Still banished him to Murkwater Construction site in case it doesn't work. After taking over Kiddie Kingdom, the last place I needed to capture, I started giving the raider factions their own turf. Operators get Galactic Zone and Nuka-Cola bottling plant. The Pack get Safari Adventure and Dry Rock Gulch. The Disciples get Kiddie Kingdom. So you can see which faction will be the odd one out. The Disciples are competition. No one can be more psychotically vicious than my character.

Fallout 4 Guess that Preston mod doesn't work. He's quite hostile after I established Nuka raider settlements in the Commonwealth. Guess I should have downloaded the mod that makes him killable. Whatever. At least he's banished to that methane stinking swampland, Murkwater Construction settlement. Some raider clown called Sinner thought he and his lackeys could encroach on my turf. Threatening me was his last mistake. Then we got word that the Disciples had the audacity to rebel against my rule. I gave them a nice little park and permit them to keep breathing and they do this? Went back to Nuka world and wiped out that entire faction. What were you saying about ripping out my heart and eating it? You put a lot of holes in me, Dixie. Lets see how Southern Belle meat tastes. Alyssa is so amused to be the uncontested Overboss now.

From memory an import will also effect Geralt's starting gear as well as the fates of certain characters from the first game. I'm sure that on the wiki there is a list of what is actually imported.

So I picked up in a sale the remaining Tomb Raider games I don't own. I had only played TR1 and TR2 before the new ones, so thought I'd check them out. A bit of googling recommended Tomb Raider: boobs Legends as a good place to start. So:
Underwater swimming puzzles: Running around in circles trying to find collectables! Some grapnel action! Although god know's why this hint text came up.
Boobs! Quick! Time! Fucking! Events! Boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooobs! Yeah. And that's not even mentioning the god awful motorbike section I did before this. What do you think Lara? Fancy a go at this rather nostalgia rose tinted past people seem to have regarding these games that they can't see how much better the new ones are?
Yeah, don't blame you.

I always love finding out new things even three playthroughs deep of a game. Either that or they have added stuff via patches. But it has opened up my tactical options. First things first though dealt with the love birds in Ituaca. Then off to San Mateo, a region that has given me a lot of trouble in the past but went a lot smoother this time out. Still always have enjoyed it. Actually its funny I really enjoy most of the regions in the game. Its a welcome change. First thing was to do the usual collection of intel. And that is where the first revelation came in. I was never sure if I could take out drone jammers with a .50 BMG before but I was able to confirm it. Unfortunatley this did kick up a bit of a hornets nest of counter activity, including a mortar strike. I took it out with my own grenade launcher and moved on sweeping through to collect the intel. The second and third revelations came when I was raiding the Prison Village. I've had a lot of trouble with this mission before but this time it wasn't anywhere near as bad. Though still frustrating at the end. This time instead of going straight through all Leeroy Jenkins style I decided to stick to the hills above the camp and establish a good sniper position. Inspired by my taking out the drone jammer I shot the genny with my sniper rifle taking it out. This plunged the camp into darkness and gave me the opprotunity to move freely. Also I was able to take out one of the helicopter alarms...but not the other...and the Sniper across the base. I did miss one of my shots though which brought out all hell. Though I was surprised by the fact that this only summoned one wave of reinforcements...which would be such a huge QOL improvement on the game given that the waves of reinforcements were endless. This also forced the camp guards to come up to engage me. I remained in my position and ambushed them with sniper fire and the rest of my squad. Then moving into the base I had another fit of inspiration. Instead of making my way directly in the area I went around to the other side with the sniper tower so I could take out the other helicopter alarm and any of the guards I could get. Doing this two wave attack from the hills I was able to take out most of the guards...even when I was discovered my squad had the high ground and was able to shoot them quite easily. The next mission was the actual prison of the area. I actually found a heli which took me up behind the camp and I had great sight lines down into it. One of my men reminded me that the locks to the rebel prison cages were electronic...and once more I had eyes on the genny. With an evil smile of glee I took it out freeing the rebels and a massive fire fight broke out. I still had the high ground and was able to support the rebels as they engaged with Santa Blanca down in the valley. It was glorious. Though I ran out of ammo so I had to go down to finish off the last few guards. Had a quick but fun encounter with the Death Truck. Was intercepting it via Helicopter and was just trying to dive dive dive down as fast as I could and get it on the ground as fast as possible, alas this bumped me into a truck that was traveling right behind me, destroying my helicopter, santa blanca guards were there and I ran away to avoid them...and dealt with the Death Truck before swinging back. And then there was the base with El Pozilero. This time instead of infiltrating I once more stuck to the cliffs, got into a bit of a fire fight but once more gave us an ambush opprotunity...and I continued to snipe them inspired by my experiences with the Prison Village I ran around the other side to make sure the alarms were silenced. Didn't get all the guards so I was nervous about it...but I got away clean. A true ghost.

I have a few downloaded but I can't tell from the names what they are, nor can I remember what's installed. I'm pretty sure I'm using one for extra health and stamina though. In the same folder I have a ton of mods for W3 saved but I can't remember if I installed any yet. I played W3 first time through with no mods at all.

I have never modded TW1 for some reason.

More Witcher 2
Finished all 3 flashbacks and am now in the present. In prison.
Scripted fights with flashing WASD everywhere are a pita and if that's the way fist-fights work in this game, I'm not doing them ever if not required.
Geralt was kind of a jerk to Roche, not really wanting to cooperate but knowing he needed to if wanted to get out of jail. My plan is to follow Iorveth's path this time since I went with Roche in my first game. I've gotta make myself not like Roche more than I already don't like Iorveth.
Letho's connection to the Scoia'tael makes so much more sense knowing that the squirrels were Nilfgaard patsies in the war. Oh, and with the first mention on Yennefer in a flashback, it's nice actually knowing who she is.

Greedfall I finished the game. I got Kurt as LI. Since rep with the bridge was really bad, I when the game forced me to ask them for help for the last battle. Wasted time as I expected. I killed Constantin. The endings are great for all except for idiot bridge faction. Ha! They deserved it. Some of the dialogues didn't come off well at the end. Especially the event when two factions are attacked by beasts. At first the tone was stern, serious, worried then at the end, it dropped back to pompous and business-like which is funny. But I like that De Sadet has different end offs to each char she meets. *thinks of Shepard "I should go" to end most dialogues* Players can see a mile off where Constantin was going and yet the protag was obtuse BECAUSE she must. Overall, the story and chars are good but need more polishing. I don't expect to do another PT. There's only the one alt path, not much branching so I don't see the point. So back to the old games. I took a look at Gears 5 and it's not worth the trouble. There's no new games on the horizon except next year I should think.

I bought the Council in a Steam sale after hearing Zeke rave about it in the Dropped Frames podcast. He said it was a Telltale game but with genuine choices and consequences, and he immediately wanted to replay to see the other paths. The weird art style put me off at first but I went for it, and I'm really enjoying it. There are small puzzles, clues in the dialogue that you can act on later (but aren't signalled in any way, so I felt genuinely clever for getting it ) and different paths. So far it's giving me what I wanted from TWD or TWAU. At the end of every act it tells you the things you missed, such as a thrilling encounter with a secret person or digging around someone's bedroom. I was kicking myself but no, I won't go back. I'm living with my choices as a nice guy detective, then next run I'll be an occult loving devil.

So back to the old games. I took a look at Gears 5 and it's not worth the trouble. There's no new games on the horizon except next year I should think. I have only Jedi Fallen Order on my radar until the end of the year. Still debating if I would get Outer Worlds from the MS Store. The game needs some great reviews to make me do that. I also took a look at Gears 5, but it's just not Mass Effect I remember a decade ago when friends were trying to lure me into Gears saying "better than ME". Then I tried it and said "what actually is better or even on par?". ME is not about the combat!

I wasn't impressed with the game play sneak peek of Jedi Fallen Order so as usual, I'm going to wait for streamers to start playing the finished product before deciding. Same thing with Outer Worlds. I did have an upcoming adventure game, I forgot what it is, but it's going the way of the epic goon store so all interest dropped. For next year, only one game is a confirmed buy; Cyberpunk. Baldur's Gate 3 by Larian Studios is also almost a definite buy, I enjoyed DOS II and hope they continue their good work. On consideration; Vampires, Age of Empire 4, System Shock 3, Deathloop (devs made the Dishonored series so I'm wondering what they have up their sleeves), Beyond Good and Evil 2.

In Bolivia: Back to being an on again off again sort of situation. Struggled just a bit in Barvechos, especially the first mission.
It was kind of a tough set up though. Had to interrogate an associate of the Cartel in the middle of this sprawling base. Snipers on each one of the smelters and roofs and just a lot of bad guys. First attempt failed when my bullet dropped just barely as it basically landed at his feet. Guy drove away. Second one should've connected...but didn't. The third one connected but it was really close. I was able to sneak around to the sniper tower with the building where the Lt was across from the street. He kept on seeing me so I was pinned, had my squad take out everyone else in the building and well apparently one of the dead bodies got seen...which I wasn't even sure was possible that late...and the guy took off again and got in a car. I was able to pull off a brilliantly lucky shot though stopping his car, he ran back towards me towards what was obviously another car, this gave me time to catch up, shot the car before he could take off, and I got him.
Up next was a little easier and got devious. Had to hijack a cartel truck and deliver it to the offices of Nidia Flores in the middle of the facility without being seen. Usually I go in there and then have to sneak out. Well today I made sure everyone was dead before even going in there, there was actually a sniper tower just outside the small little nook so I was able to clear them out before advancing. And took out the helicopter tower. Nice little mission.
While I hate doing areas twice essentially one of the medals was in Nidia's Hacienda so I went after it. Made my way up a giant tower in one corner of the property and sniped everyone I could see before advancing.
Wrapped up with a clearing out an SB communication station all Captain America style. Basically cleared it out myself including three sicarios on the top level, close, but I got them all.

In Bolivia: that's what I get for not reading thre mission objectives. I was actually doing one of my favorite missions in the game...but I forgot I had to interrogate the bank manager to get the codes first. Also there was a drone jammer which didn't help. Things went wrong...as they do and the alarm was raised. Fortunately I did remember this happening before and I still had good sight lines so I didn't panic. Shot the car the manager was going for and he fled to hunker down in a nearby building as expected. What wasn't expected that a com convoy came racing past me and I decided to go after it. Which resulted in me getting in a cross fire since it was in the opposite direction. But I handled it easy enough. Then moved on the building with the manager...don't know where the squad was at...thought the area was secure, began interogating him reached for some water...then a whole squad of sicarrios including heavy gunners came in. I started to fire, didn't last long, one of my squad got me, but it was funny is there was a heavy gunner right over me looking like he was doing squats. So I shot him my wife was all like 'you should retreat'...good advice but on the other hand the only exit was through a hail of gun fire...but I got them all. The rest of the mission was rather anti climactic, just got frustrated since my squad was kind of useless as I cleared the building with flashbangs (since there was civvies...and makes me wonder about the need for squadmates too). But the last little hoorah was really...quiet.
Anyways my next stage of what I did I actually got some sniper work in. There was a rock formation at the edge of this field with a skill point and good sightlines. Just cleared them out realatively distant.
Final mission was actually a revisit of the base with that one Lt. It was interesting though i was able to work my way onto the smelters and work my way down from there sniping as I went. Got everything but another convoy resulted in a bit of a rolling firefight all the way down the hill, through the base that I had to drop off the truck then through another outpost.
So this brings me to a bit of a video game conundrum. Breakpoint is coming out soon but based on recent information they probably won't have the AI squad available until early next year... and based on the verbiage I agree. I was already waiting a bit anyways until they are ready but my wife suggested i don't get it until they are. Its actually decent advice but A. The squad is kind of useless anyways sometimes (especially with the synch shot drones coming). B. Other Ubi games, mainly Od, show you don't really need a squad. Same thing with GRB based on some of the gameplay I've seen... and to some extent Farcry. C. I wouldn't be sure what else to get this fall.
So...yeah suppose that's what the betas for.

Witcher 2
Roche left Geralt the key to his shackles so he could conveniently escape from prison. Killed Knocked out several guards along the way before running into Aryan La Valette. Left him to torch the palace after he showed Geralt a secret way out. Roche and Triss were waiting with a boat.
During the boat trip upriver, Triss supposedly filled Geralt in on a few things, namely Yennefer and an Unexpected Child. (I still wish we got to actually hear this conversation! Triss got some 'splainin' to do.)
Fresh off the boat and who should appear but a grumpy old elf and eight tiny reindeer numerous archers aiming to kill. Triss put up an arrow shield and promptly passed out. Roche carried her into the town known as Flotsam while Geralt killed knocked out anyone dumb enough to get close.
Oh hey, look - it's Dandelion! On a scaffold. About to be hanged for dumbassery, I mean...debauchery. Managed to save his ass, and Zoltan's too. Met the local strongman, whose name I now forget, then headed straight for the local inn to get shit-faced and catch up with old friends.
Current objective: Find the barber to get rid of Geralt's bouncy ponytail. If I'm not mistaken, the barbershop isn't marked on the map and it's located someplace weird, which is why it took me forever to find it in my first game.

Trying Stardew again. I didn't get very far in the initial attempt. 30 mins. This time I quickly set up a small farming patch and got some plants growing. Cleared out a lot of weeds / bushes, chopped enough wood for one storage box, got the fishing rod. Not mining yet. I've to make money off fishing and farming. Luckily, eating is not essential except to replenish energy. If it were otherwise protag will land in trouble straight off.

Got my paws on Cat Quest. It was a meowsmerising game and I managed to claw my way through the story in pretty much one go. It wasn't purrfect but the story was quite charming and I had a cat-tastic time with it and it left me feline good.
Will have to take a cat-nap before deciding if I want to get more achivos since they are pretty grindy.
Also there were fur too many cat-puns. Ooof. But it was quite fun and I'm happy I gave it a try.

In Bolivia: Played what is quite probably my second least favorite mission of Wildlands. IE escorting Pulpo's cars through the streets of Barvechos in a car and sort of engage in this really chaotic gun fight all the way down to he airport till he can get in a Helo and vacate the airspace. It only took me one time this time, I was able to stay close and completley ran over a pickup truck, used the brakes adequately...and got him there.
Pretty much the only thing worth reporting, picking off some of the intelligence in Mojocoyo and that will be my next region...assuming I don't go back to Vegas after the...
Ghost Recon Breakpoint (beta): This game really has so much potential. I mean just as an example of how much fun I was having after getting the night vision goggles I was all like "Oh my God the Night Vision in this game is so gorgeous." And it is. I mean I can't attest for first person experience but it looks so much better and more realistic then what you typically get in games because it seems games just add a green filter on the screen, this actually makes it a lot harder to see at range in some ways and its just...better.
Had a couple of panic moments early on and still getting used to the UI but I can attest that (so far at least) the bullet sponge is a myth...at least on regular and facing bad guys I think was around my level. First panic moment though was early on when I still had my pistol and it took a clip and a half to bring down a bad guy with body shots. Que slight concern. But it was a dinky ass pistol, silenced, and my gear score was still 1 at that point so not a good indicator of the game. Sure enough I got a Tavor (of all things) and even with it being suppressed on body shots it was 2-3 rounds per target...still pretty basic badguys as far as I know. Bit annoying when I got a G28 though and the DMR still needed a couple of shots to bring the enemies down. Which it seems that the difference between DMR and Snipers in this game is DMRs are just this game's name for Battle Rifles since I had a selector on it, so not too bad there honestly. I went for Sharpshooter as my opening class.
Then I got to Erewhon for the first time and bought my beloved M82 Barret for my SR. But didn't get a chance to use it. This game's biggest flaw probably will be the tiered loot. I have expressed my opinions on inventory management around these parts a couple of times and to go from a game where that wasn't a thing to one that is...is an annoyance. On the other hand item levels and gear score is an interesting way of balancing encounters. But if this is the game's only flaw...
The biggest change between Wildlands and Breakpoint is honestly how it handles leveling and the perks. Basically namely that they have them. As far as I can tell these arent activatable, their passive, and you can equip four at a time. Which is a little annoying because I don't approve of doing that with passives. On the other hand it does give more 'tactical' options which can interact with one another in a number of interesting ways depending on class, playstyle, and mission.
Really haven't got around to transmog or legitimate sniping yet.
