Finished Jedi Knight Jedi Academy. Frustrating level design but excellent light saber fights (mostly) Didnt mod it. I see you haven't played Jedi Outcast then So, male or female Jaden? I like to use a female Zabrak as it somehow fits with Jennifer Hale's performance. This might be my 4th playthrough of all the Jedi Knights so yes, I've played. I forgot how frustrating it was before, all the backtracking and going in tunnels wtf man... but alas, it has the SW world I love Next stop: Fallen Order.

I've been playing Batman: Arkham Knight a fair bit, mostly just seeing if I can track down all the Riddler trophies to get this "special" ending. Managed to accomplish a fair bit tonight, including a quest I'd forgotten about. Arkham Knight doesn't get enough credit, I don't think, for including totally weird stuff like this. I'm really finding the Batmobile to be useful - and enjoyable - this time around, as well. I've got the hang of drifting and handbrake turns. Good times.

I played What Remains Of Edith Finch in one session. Took less than 3 hours. An interesing family story both horrifying and touching. The biggest surprise however was the creative gameplay elements where you relive the last moments of the family members. Many died as children under quite macabre circumstances. You basically make them commit accidental suicide... The interactive comic wa sone of the coolest most creative ideas I've come across.
That game was quite the experience! When the credits rolled I started crying and couldn't stop for half an hour. Which is very unusual for me. Granted, the game triggered a very personal issue. It released something I'd been supressing for years. I guess it was a good thing it all came out. So this game will be remembered as something special to me even if mostly painful. The story itself is beautifully told. I recommend this game! Edith Finch was great, I played it not long ago too. It was really touching and discovering the house and the stories of the family members was really engaging.
I played Unavowed a bit more and had some flashbacks about the time, my character was possessed. I really like the fire mage in your group.

Got the two characters that were missing two levels to max in King's Raid. Now I'll most likely focus on new character I'm going to get for free as beginner bonus. Dunno who I'm going to pick yet. Prolly assassin, since that's the only archetype I'm missing among max level characters. I finished Team RR episode in Pokemon Ultra Sun, cleared last greyed out area and as I was ready to enter Battle Tree, I was faced with hardest choice of the game. Do I want to battle Red or Blue? Seeing my boys was great (my favourite main char/rival duo, right there with Black/White main char and N), but why u not let me battle both before entering Battle Tree? So, being salty me and predicting I'm not going to invest enough time in Battle Tree to actually get to them, I just closed the game before saving. That way I can always load the save and battle the one I choose anytime, right? Speaking of fav main char/rival duos reminded me I really need to get Fire Red and Black/White.Oh, and my Pokemon Sword steelbook came today (actually it arrived at Friday, but I wasn't able to pick it up till today). I really like how it looks, even if I don't have Game Card to keep there.

So with GRB doing server maintneance last night I decided to, instead of XCOM, Madden. In obviously a weird place as I sort of want to continue my franchise and get it 'up to date' but I also obviously want to *kind of* continue on with XCOM.
Anyways whomped on the Dolphins 58-27. Fortunatley my defense continues to be at least kind of strong for the second straight game only giving up 20 of those points. But we did give up 167 yards on the ground.
Brady was picked off twice but otherwise had 6 TDs and over 450 yards passing. Also hitting ten different recievers, Harry I think got his first recieving TD and Slater even got into it for a catch. Edelman went off though. He had 9 catches for 169 yards and 2 TDs. Michel...with everything going on...didn't get too many opprotunities on the ground but he made the best out of them. 20 carries on the dot with like 120 yards, also made three catches. One of the highlights on the ground game is I actually had White RUN to pick up a first down on third. I was almost at mid field so I probably would've went for it on fourth had I not made it, but that wasn't neccessary. Speaking of which went 8-11 on third down.

Btw, if you like Unavowed and you have not played Ken Follett's Pillars of the Earth, you could check it out. It's based on the book but since it's a game, some events can change depending on actions and choices.

Geralt graduated from goat-herding to sheep-herding (pics coming later) in order to bait a "dragon" ie a forktail. Went along with elder in the end in order to get paid....he wants to think it was a dragon, why should I try to enlighten him?
I was only about 40 points away from level 23, and being able to wear my upgraded Cat gear, so before I went after the beastie, I turned in the light house penitent quest, which ended up with Geralt back in jail for killing two idiots. Lugos let him go on account of previously helping his son. Geralt then proceeded to beat the pants off him at gwent, then fast-traveled back to Kaer Trolde to beat Crach and another in the village to complete the Skellige gwent quest.
Currently on Faroe looking for Lambert's buddy. Crach said there was a bounty on the guy too, so once he's dead I'll go back for the reward, then head off to help Hjalmar and Cerys.

Managed to do some Co-Op in Monster Hunter last night. It was fun, but now we are stuck at a big nasty fish, which is not so fun. Only three continues are making things extra annoying as well.
Also started Paradigm which is a point'n'clicker, then finished it today. It's got some nice music and looks pretty great. And the voice acting is really good as well. Love love love how everyone sounds like they know what their characters are about and not just reading lines in a studio. Also liked how there were a bunch of little things that added flavor and stuff. Like that fellow taking a soak in a foot massager. Or that pigeon listening to some bangers. Or those audio tapes you could find which included among other things: Jesus metal and Belly slaps.
Story was fun, really wacky but fun. Was a bit reference heavy at some parts, but still got quite a few chuckles from me.
Would recommend if you want something wacky or just to listen to some neat tunes.

So with GRB doing a patch, time for some Madden: Played two games.
First one against the Bills was a bit frustrating. Brady was picked four times, though he did throw six TDs, over five hundred yards, and I ended up beating the Bills...though it was frustrating. They only put up 27 points on me.
Second game against the Dolphins...I don't think I quite made it to 60 points, it was like 58...to 3. I was a bit mad. And I carved the Dolphins up like a pumpkin. Brady 6 TDs, no interceptions, and Michel added two scores of his own. Ryder on the day before Gronk came back had 8 catches for 180 yards and 2 TDs himself. He is now up to 10.

I haven't finished this quest yet....for some reason the troll turned hostile again after talking to him, so I ran away to avoid a fight. The quest log is still telling me to kill him though.
The elder had a suggestion.....
...but Geralt opted for an old-school approach
I reloaded because the forktail....ahem, dragon.....killed the sheep immediately. Poor little Mia....her sacrifice will be remembered in the coming empire.

I finished Mutant Year Zero in about 20 hours trying to find all scrap and collectibles. Failed to find the last artifact for some reason. Really odd.
The ending twist was very obvious but still nicely presented. Gameplay got a lot easier after a somewhat rough first third. Somewhere between level 20-30 I got my ass kicked. But eventually it was a breeze on Normal. If you do all fights you're about level 70 at the end. You cannot max out all skills though.
I thought I would be able to play the DLC as well but it seems blocked in Family Sharing? Supposedly Steam only blocks DLC if you already own the base game. But it sure as hell is not accessible even though it is installed.
So that's a bit disappointing. I had a ton fo fun and would have liked to play it.

Watched some Fallen Jedi game play over Twitch. Nice graphics. Can't say I'm impressed however. I wasn't sure how long the streamer was into the game but he was exploring. Given the protag is a padawan and since he looks to be into late teens, I'd expect he would have gotten his basics but apparently he can't do force jump, force pull or push. He can slow things down. He just run around and swipes at obstacles with his lightsaber. Perhaps force jumps, push, pull or whatever would appear later as the player get more xps. I get the impression perhaps there're no manual saves but save checkpoints because when I logged in, the streamer died to a froggy-like monster. He lost all xps gained in exploring and killing minor mobs up to the point when he encountered the monster. He respawned but didn't go back to the monster, he went exploring elsewhere. From the chat comments; Star Wars Dark Soulsy, I think I have an idea what this game is like. I'm no fan of Dark Souls; fixed checkpoints and repeating boss / monster fights over and over, even minor mob fights until the player got the pattern of the moves. If this game is like Dark Souls game play and combat, it is not for me. Now the streamer has gained wall run ability. Reminds me of Titan Fall 2. P.S. So he fought one of the bigger froggy-monsters. He tried four times. At one point when the monster's tongue was outstretched, the lighersaber was out and swinging in the path of the tongue. Was it cut off? Nope.

Been playing co-op campaign on Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2. Its really quite enjoyable and far more co-op friendly than I was expecting. I can help manage the fleets during battles of course, but during the over-map sections I can go and upgrade system infrastructure or maneuver the myriad fleets under our joint command all while my buddy is retrofitting said fleets, or hiring new admirals.
We're about turn 47 on the Imperium campaign playing on easy and its actually surprisingly challenging to manage everything; even with two players. Really gets me into the WH40K mood with my Adeptus Mechanicus fleets raining down Nova Cannon shots on unsuspecting xenos filth while my Adeptus Astartes commander leads the charge with boarding actions and bomber attacks.

What happens if Lara Croft (Tomb Raider) and Galen Marek (Force Unleashed) have a baby, but Lara ends up raising the child alone? Well - Cal Kestis (Jedi Fallen Order).
There is so much Tomb Raider feel in this game, sometimes downright to tomb exploring and artifact collection, not to mention the platforming. I can even feel the Titanfall 2 art design. Speaking of which - the game is very pretty and the SW feel is right there. Great atmosphere from the first minutes to about 6 hours in so far. The droids, the aliens, the trashed tech, the Empire and, oh, the lightsaber - all feel very authentic, if you get what I mean.
For full map exploring you have to backtrack and open new areas after you get new abilities, which means planet hopping (never been a fan of this, but what can you do). With that said - there is a ton to explore. Some planets are smaller, but some are huge! I thought I explored a planet thoroughly, then upon exiting stumbled on a new path, went down to find two large new areas, thought I found most of it by this point, then after I checked the map - only 48% explored...wtf I have to find more than what I already saw? By this point I have ditched the story in favor of exploring (pretty game, cool area design and I get a kick every time I use the saber as a flashlight), but you get the abilities to unlock paths by doing the story, so back I went. Time to save the wookies...again. They never get a break it seems, no matter the SW era. Which makes me wonder, if I was a wookie and for over 4000+ years my race has been enslaved on a regular basis, I would take the moments of peace and fortify the crap out of the already hostile planet, militarize the population and blow any intruder out of the sky without even asking first. I'm no fan of Dark Souls; fixed checkpoints and repeating boss / monster fights over and over, even minor mob fights until the player got the pattern of the moves. If this game is like Dark Souls game play and combat, it is not for me. Then the streamer was pretty much at the start of the game and on the first real planet that is also a bit of tutorial. You get more powers as you progress through the story (you probably missed the plot point why Cal doesn't use them yet). Never played Souls like games, but this one is not tough in the combat department, even for me on the normal difficulty. Yeah, I get hit a lot, but probably because I am trying to play with a controller and I suck at it. Might try M/KB tonight to see if I improve. So far I haven't died in combat at all and I am on planet 4 (not counting the starting area).
The repeating mob fights are a bit of annoying (they respawn if you rest at a checkpoint), but you can avoid most of it by raising the number of your healing stims (by finding map secrets) and your Health, so you don't need to rest much. There are plenty of shortcuts in the maps, so you can avoid most fights after you explored enough. Which reminds me - the map hologram is surprisingly good and helpful.
I haven't lost any XP by dying, but again - I die by falls and such and not in combat. The game respawns you right at the spot where you screwed up a jump, so it's never a chore to fail those.
As I said - never played Dark Souls, but this game is definitely Tomb Raider gameplay for me. Just with a bit more combat and enemy variety. And as you get more Force powers, the combat becomes much more manageable and downright easy (mass Force Push off cliffs, done).

Too many good games. A good problem to have, and with single-player games, nothing is lost by playing one, then the other (except holding my nerve).

Oh noes. Like that eh? Lost everything right at the beginning. I detest respawned mobs every time you reset due to death / fall. So there're shortcuts that can be taken to avoid repeating the fights. Isn't that a lose of xps? They wouldn't have put shortcuts without taking xps into account but definitely the question has to be asked. Doesn't this impact level progression? The jury is still out on this one. I'll check YT for game play footage too and I'm pretty sure someone will splice up the complete story cutscenes in another day or two. If I do get this, it's going to be on Steam and a sale. P.S. Nvm, I already know the whole story by reading wiki.

Mobs give little XP. You get far more XP by finding secrets, items, lore stuff, etc. I didn't keep a close eye on the XP bar, but a big and tough enemy gave about 10% or less XP compared to interacting with a nearby random lore object. You can farm mobs if you like, of course, and there are some spots where you can do it pretty easily, but I guess that would make sense only if you enjoy the combat or try to practice your moves. For XP alone it seems rather unnecessary. I just explore, avoid respawns and already have all the skills I need with a few points in reserve for when the skill tree unlocks more options.
I don't think mobs respawn upon death by a fall - believe me, I would have noticed It happens only after a rest and is under your control in a sense.

It's also in Jedi Knight I but Katarn's leap from blaster to lightersaber is a bit unorthodox. But the live action was fun to watch, especially when you chose to go Dark Side. Fallen Jedi has a linear story which takes some fun out. *shrug* Dang, miss Lucas Arts games. Those good old days.

Right, surely if you've just sent someone to kill four champions who you are too scared to face, and they come back having killed them, threatening them with death is just a tad stupid? NARRATORS VOICE: "He didn't"

Pokemon Sword/Shield's out and after 6 hours... I barely made it out of first open location In all honesty, I have a feeling this might be the most enjoyable Pokemon game since Generation 5 (this is Generation 8 and there was 5 games between them). I love addition of big open zones where you can just wander around, try to catch anything that moves and actually bump into other people. Plus Max Raid Battles with Dynamax Pokemon (new mechanic for Sword/Shield), while absolutely riddiculous, are hella fun. Just look at this dumb-faced baby-turned-giant. I'll be honest, I thought I'd avoid these battles when I learned about them, but the fact that I've spend ~4 hours hunting Max Raid Battles is proof that I was sooooo wrong. And! Actually decent-sized buildings! I'm shocked! And you also get perfect view on Leon's ridiculous cape. I love it.

Got back into Cultist Simulator with Felicia. She ended up leaving her bloody cult with her dearest Renira and now Gregory is dealing with this whole mess. Played a bit yesterday and ended the session livid, since I found a level 12 Grail artifact (which was a bloody rag, so very amused) and then it disappeared! I know I got it and I know I didn't give it to anyone (It's my precious) and I've moved all the cards and can't find it anywhere.
Grrr.
Granted in hindsight it might have been used up in an initiation process....BAH.
Then loaded up the game again and still couldn't find it. Did find a level 8 artifact though, but >:C
Also found Renira and made her a Cryptoid or what ever the big disciple rank is called. (Okay it's not called Cryptoid it's Cyprian. Don't understand either term). Also found the other Grail dude and did the same to him.
Ended up looking up the endings, since I didn't want to spend hours trying to figure out a major victory if it was not available, which it wasn't. So glanced at the prerequisites for the endings I could get and decided to go for one of the romance endings, since I'm not ready for apostle mode and I need to redo the grail run for that when the time comes.
So picked Renira, since she sounded lovely and I felt a bit guilty over her dying with Diamanda. But I still needed to qualify for ascending so spent ages trying to find another level 12 artifact, until I stumbled onto something better. Level 15 knowledge. Yessssss. Had to use some cheaty ways to keep it until the time came, but no regrets. Other grail dude helped with the ritual, used the knowledge and my maxed out mantra and bada bing, bada boom Felicity was ready to ascend.
Well until Renira made her think again and she chose her instead.
So now Gregory has stated getting visions in his dreams and will probably try and aim for a new principle cult for him to start.
And speaking of dream visions, looks like it's going to be another night shuffling dream cards for me. So far the only thing I really don't like about this game. Heh.
