Ugh Madden. 1 game turned into 2 games because I am stubbourn and forgetful and the game sometimes does a really interesting nuance moment every now and then.
But my offense continues to kill it. I have scored at least 50 points in each of my first three games. I have managed to be at least a litttllle balanced which has given White a very heavy workload overall, but not as heavy as I was fearing. Though I am still passing like a madman right now and Brady I think also has like 400 yards in each game at least and has like 18 TDs.
First game was a bit of a coup on my part. Cooks didn't have a good game recieving but everyone else did. Edelman led the way with 10 catches 155 yards and pretty sure just the single TD. Dorsett proved that this team can have some depth afterall, 6 catches, over 100 yards, and a TD. He also executed the most beautiful wide Reciever screen I have ever seen but then Cooks and Edelman also had great blocks but it sprung him for like forty yards and almost got a TD. Yeldon finished off the trifecta of one hundred yard recievers with 7 catches and I think 2 TDs as well as some big fourth down converstions. I am also really pleased with how much I am FINALLY getting Develin involved in the passing attack. I mean I know he isn't a priority for the Pats IRL passing (I mean he's hurt) but I do like distributing the ball as much as possible.
Second game was going fairly smoothly until the game ripped me off on a fourth and goal from the one, Gronk was in the endzone for the score...which it did not give me (I guess this game has never heard of forward progress?) and the Cowboys put up 24 points in the fourth qurter to tie the game with like 3 minutes to go. A quick TD strike and then a turnover which led to another TD put that to bed...Brady had like 7 TDs and over 500 yards that game.

Back to Thronebreaker yesterday.
Made it out of the first main area and to Lyria, at which point Meve was back-stabbed by her dumbass son and hauled off to prison. Now, luckily in the battle vs the Dog Lord of whatever (which makes me think of Ferelden) I didn't end up killing their leader Gascon so guess who came to Meve's rescue? Then a silly battle to get out of the city and now, with a completely new deck of cards to learn how to play, I'm on the way to Aedirn to seek the help of King Demavend. Ran into Black Rayla, about to be hung by a band of Scoia'tael, and added her to the party.
Next time I play I'll have to re-organize my cards since so many units have been swapped for something different. Ugh, I was finally learning how the stupid Lyrian cards worked together and now they're all gone and I have Gascon's rat pack instead.

Started Yakuza Kiwami. The little bit I'd glanced while looking up some other stuff made it look like it would be a quite different game. But it's pretty close to Yakuza 0, which I'm happy about since what I was thinking seemed more dull. So far doing alright combat wise. Bumped the difficulty up to hard for now, since I'm having a pretty easy time. Until bosses come on screen and then it just turns into a long slog. Since I have a truck load of health items, so it's just a matter of whittling them down. But they are aggressively defensive so the whole ordeal takes quite some time. Also didn't get the explanation to the Kiwami heat actions, so they were getting in free heals pretty often. Which is fair but annoying. Also now they can knock the items out of my hands when in beast mode. So it's no longer "I've got a motorcycle in my hands, I win". Again, fair but annoying. Mr.Shakedown is gone and replaced with Majima. Majima everywhere. And I love it so much. Like he was delightful when he was all prim and proper. But since he's let loose. Gosh darn it I love him. Granted he's gradually becoming stronger, so he might become a pain later on, but so far so fun. He's hiding somewhere at the moment, so hoping I'll stumble upon his surprise later on. No idea how far along I'm in the main story, but was at chapter 5 when I ended the session. And so far each chapter has been a treat. Brawling in a club, infiltrating a funeral and saving the cutest of puppies. Good times. Story wise it's been a lot of : How dare you! Damn you. Which is a blast. So, very much enjoying it so far.

Well, seems like everyone is getting their winter sale going now. I finally bought Rebel Galaxy Outlaw for 20% 25% + $10 off. I got more than my money's worth out of Rebel Galaxy so I hope this one is just as fun.

My Astroneer adventure continue. I now visited two planets and a moon to get resources I need to build more advanced stuff and I'm still missing some.
One of the planet was the "hardest" difficulty ones. Almost no light or wind for power which means you have to use small biomass generators (that's the starter ones) or the "end game" generator. And that end game generator required gas only found on that planet to craft. But now I should have enough of it that next time I going there with the proper power source.
Saying that, I need to go back to the frozen planet to get some argon now.
Well I will once I'm back from my trip on the starter planet. I saw a beacon I didn't drop while traveling back. First time I though it was just my base, but nope, it'S a lonely beacon. Probably one some wreck, but I want to find it!!!
Which means I'm totally lost again, lol.
edit: I found the beacon...and turns out I left that one behind hours ago near a mass of graphites to return to it which I totally forgot about. Now to get back to base. Somehow.

I started Layers of Fear. Really creepy and I fear, there is a very sad and slightly murderous story behind the events. It reminds me a bit of P.T.: You are roaming rooms and corridors, that get more creey with every turn. It is really fun to piece the story together from notes, letters and sometimes paintings and you have to finish a painting, that seems to be really creepy and tied to your own situation (at least, I think, that's the case, I have no idea)

In Madden:
Beat the Jets 45-19. Brady had over four hundred yards, 5 TDs, no ints with a QBR of 152...now it is always funny hearing the announcers being surprised that I am continuing to pass the ball but the job of the offense should be to always, always, move the ball to get yards and knock down time, even in games that you are winning. Because White was stuffed a good part of the game. Did get a rushing TD though and carried the ball 26 times.
Harry got 2 first quarter touchdowns on two catches...and then virtually did nothing. Edelman was pretty much the featured hero on offense with 8 catches, over 100 yards, 2 TDs and yeah he did really good. First game of the season where Brady failed to hit 11 different recievers, he only hit tent...Sanu dropped one.

Does anyone get to a point when they are playing a game that's enjoyable, but it isn't one of your 'top picks' so you end up flitting between more than one unfinished game until the 'next big game' releases? 2019 was terrific for me, but I'm sliding into game hiatus until March/April, probably...

For me most of the time, it just takes longer for me to get into the game so with having a short window it never feels like I am really deep into the game. I think Assassin's Creed: Odyssey is like that for me for it takes nearly playing a hour before I really zone into the game and generally by then I have other things I need to do. I purchase so few games most of the time theses days its not that big of a deal for this year I have only bought two games and one of them I had to stop playing because it trigger my motion sickness almost every time I played.

My problem ATM is just finding time to play which has been frustrating because firstly because I normally have plenty of time and because I really want to finish this PT of MEA and start something else which at this stage is a replay of DAO. I also want to play ACOD again but I have trouble not doing everything which chews up lots of hours!!!

I can't do the "flitting" between games thing, if I start a game I like to concentrate on it alone and I NEED to finish it!!! Normally that's me and I prefer it. I'm currently spoiled by Game Pass which allows me to download a bunch of 'free' games (no, I realise they are not free) and because they weren't worthy of buying in their own right I'm perhaps less committed to them.

Yeah I can see how that'd be an issue re the "free" games thing, I don't buy many games for that reason and I tend to stick to what I know. I need to be braver/bolder and move away from just series I know like AC, DA, ME and a few others.

Yeah same her reall ythe onl ygames I kind of leav on the go aer sports games like Fifa and F1 most of my stor ybased games though lik eMass Effect or Dragon Age once I start a playthrough of them I like to finish it. I nth emiddl eof an ME run atm almost through ME3 and moving onto Andromeda when I'm finished befoer I start on the games I'm getting for Christmas. I may be tempted t ostart the mearlier but I plan to try t oresist till I'm finished Andromeda first but I wi l lsay I'm already looking forward to trying m yhand at NFS Heat which is on eof them as it looks like they've done a pretty decen job this time. Whereas the last couple look like they've been a little dissapointing. I've played some of the NFS games though not all of them but the new one looks quite good.

I used to like to juggle around two or three games at a time, but usually one or all would be games I'd played before so I knew the story for the most part and was just enjoying the characters. Or I'd be lukewarm about the story and needed a bit of a taste breaker in between. Been getting more into just focusing on one game, since I'm trying out actually play through my humble monthly purchases and stumbling onto some gems on the way. --- As for WDIDTIAOGOT :Yakuza Kiwami Scam edition. That is that I got 5 sidequests today that involved getting scammed. The game isn't a scam. I promise. Now gimme your yens. But the quests were one for "breaking" something, one "buy a super mythical relic which then does nothing", one "insurance fraud" type, one accusation of perversion and one drink a roofied drink and presumably get my ass kicked. This city is full of thieves :C Only fell for one, except didn't have the cash to fall for it, so was saved by brokeness. So hurrah for being broke! I think Majima may be dead. Well he probably isn't, since he's been through far worse than this, but he did suffer a cutscene injury. And those can be fatal. So I'm still worried for him and hoping he'll be back in the game soon. Also I want to see his surprise and he can't surprise me if he's dead ...Well...he could I guess. Hmmm. Been having a bit of a problem with some of the boss fights, which is annoying but working as intended since the game is on hard so the fights are...hard. But quite better now that I understand the Kiwami stuff. It's just pretty annoying. So need to get gud or something. But the regular mooks are fine on the other hand. Also was sad to learn that the Hostess achievements were for Kiryu having a cabaret session and not running his own. But it was interesting to be on the customers side. There are two girls: Rina and Yui. And they both diss my outfit. Like excuse you my bullet glass is a lifesaver, my key watcher is a must and don't you dare diss my bindings. Also that suit is fabulous Otherwise not a fan of Rina, but Yui is fine. Still keep on meeting up with them both so... Had a good time.

I'm bouncing between two games. KOTOR Party left Taris and landed on Dantooine. Everything's peachy except that combat is pretty sticky. Most of the time the protag is stuck after combat, completely unable to move. I learned that quick save and quick load solves the problem but it does get very troublesome when you're fighting every two minutes and having to save / reload just to get things moving. I finally looked it up and it's a common problem. Solution is to turn V-sync on. I had it off so I'll try that when I play again and see if it works. Blade Runner I had to restart from the beginning. Common sense dictate that when a perp is shot down, you search the body but the protag refuses to do it. He kept saying yuck all the time. I know there's a clue on the body but no matter how I reload that shoot out, he refuses to search the body. I went to look up and realised I've forgotten the other pathway to the shoot out. Unfortunately, because I don't want to have too many save files, I've already rewritten the save before the shoot out so I have no choice but to restart from the beginning. Just as well I did, I picked up more clues I missed out. I went the other pathway and was able to search the body.

I discovered the drill in Astroneer (and the paver). First thing I did was pave a way to (and through) a mountain top with my rover (use the drill to dig + the pave make the path as you move). Second thing I did was dig and pave my way through the planet. Ended up stuck at the core...there is no more gravity there! One of my rover is stuck in mid-air now. Some of the underground biomes are super cool. Unfortunately, I suffocated trying to go back to my base on foot, the trip was too long, but you respawn at the base when you die. I took my buggy (a scout vehicle) and went to get the stuff from my dead corpse's backpack. Now I need to get my rover out of it's suspended status. I should be able to do it with the winch, I think, it's meant to tow big objects. And me that originally felt like I was done after building the "end game" generator. Lol. I even installed another game via Game Pass (Vampyr) but it will probably wait a few days now.

Yakuza Kiwami. Good news everybody, Majima is not dead! He was just hiding in a traffic cone. For like 5 chapters or something. Heh. I knew he was hiding, but I was thinking the alleyway, not my trusty old Cone which was used many a time to knock some sense into thugs. Did not find him on my own though, ended up googling it since I felt terribly lonely without him. But now he's back to entertain me But like seriously finding him was the cheese that repelled the massive whine that this post was going to be. There is still some, but it was a lot bigger. Did play a lot today, including a fair number of the main quests. The boss fights have started to wear on me a bit, or well the ones where there are a lot of mooks and they end up stun locking me like crazy. Not fun at all. Retribution is pleasing but not enough. Then got onto Chapter 9 and the infamous car chase returned! And it wasn't so bad so to speak. Think I got like 3/4 through it before getting stuck, but it was more the feeling of not getting the tempo rather than being stuck. Still couldn't make it past it and eventually decided to shut the game down and take a break. Except there was no autosave before the chase (and not sure if I can save at all) so realizing that took a bit of the wind out of me about retrying after the break. Then had a bit of a dilemma and ended up mulling about it for a while. But the sensible solution felt kinda hollow. So thus looked up if Majima could still be found, found him and he ended up pepping me up in his own mad lad way. So tomorrow is going to be a few more attempts at the car chase. Except this time I got a suitcase full of spicy knives to stabitty stab the boss (which is cheesy, but I'll have a lot of time with him if I ever reach legend mode) , I now know I can use the mouse for the shooting bit (or I hope so) and saw a tip about shooting smarter not faster, which does line up with my experience. So hopefully that will be the key to success.

Back to Blood & Wine
After de-cursing a tree, cleaning up 3 vineyards and helping the architect finish the statue of Lebioda, I decided to finally move the main story along. Met with Regis at his place and then traveled to the vampire dungeon. Sure enough Regis knew the secret password to open the door. Found lots of loot, lots of sigils, and lots of cages. Locked Regis in a cage so he could go all bloodthirsty mad vampire but not hurt anyone, killed a bunch of monsters, got the needed blood, then meditated while Regis went back to normal mode.
Back in the crypt, Geralt drank the special sauce that would let him experience some recent Detlaffe memories. That led them to a scamp of a bootblack who had cleaned Detlaffe's shoes on occasion. I had to do this meeting twice because the first time I didn't have "Delusion" equipped (been trying to get "Puppet" to work but it's problematic) so I reloaded to put the whammy on the kid so I wouldn't have to pay him anything. His info led Geralt and Regis to an abandoned toy shop which Detlaffe apparently uses as his base in the city. Found clues indicating Detlaffe is being blackmailed, believing someone he cares about will be harmed if he didn't do what they wanted. If only.... Geralt's next stop will be to update the duchess on his progress.
A couple pics from side-quests. First, Daphne the tree. I didn't get "help" from the witch this time (who lied to me in my first PT!) and told Daphne the truth about her knight not being faithful.
Next, the finished statue of Lebioda in the distance. Unfortunately, it was dusk at the time.

KOTOR Enabling V-sync worked, no more getting stuck after combat. I used some graphic mods for the game though I downloaded the barest minimum. The others run into big files and according to the author, would have a slower load time even on ssds so I didn't go for those. I also downloaded work overs for male / female protag and the companions so everyone looks good, the graphics also looks good. The party have finished Dantooine and ready to set off. Blade Runner I think I may have inadvertently entered a romance or at least created a good relationship. Um, I still hope to get the partner I want though and that is Crystal Steele. I also killed what I thought was a replicant. Turned out not to be so. Game over. Reload.
