Worked hard in Kerbal Space Program today.
I have for a long time planned two big, long expeditions. Two rockets will head for Jool. Two 3-man astronaut teams will stay out for many years and land on two of Jool's moons. (Jool is a sort of gas giant similar to Jupiter). The work I have done is on the rocket. This is a highly demanding challenge. The rocket weighs in at over 8000 tonnes and consists of more than 1000 parts. It is a progressively improved version of a rocket that has already successfully carried three expeditions to Laythe (the most important moon of Jool) and back home again. The problem now is that KSP has changed to Unity 5. And that change has made some small details work differently. I've mainly had problems with my ladder systems of my rockets. So I spent hours fiddling with that today, to make it work. It seems to be okay now. I've also made some other work. Tweaked landing struts and rovers.
Right now I'm mostly unsure of the landing struts. Since Unity 5 they have tended to be slippery and explode a lot. I suppose I have to test tomorrow, though it's a big, awkward and time consuming thing to test. The two rockets will not be exactly identical. Laythe has atmosphere and slightly greater gravity. Vall is marginally smaller and lacks atmosphere. So the landings and return-launches will make different demands. I have only visited Vall with an unmanned probe previously. So it will be my first manned landing there. Laythe, well I've visited it three times before, but now I've discovered an anomaly that I want to examine, and I have made a Rover design I think will work ok on Laythe and Vall (far from the sun so solar panels are not particularly effective, but I've halved the energy consumption).
I have never lost an astronaut, and hopefully I won't this time either. I'm kinda attached to the little green guys and gals. These trips are going to be difficult every step of the way though. The biggest risks are the landings on Vall and Laythe. Those are always precaurious. Laythe is mostly water so some clever tricks are needed to aim the landing. Vall lacks atmosphere so the rocket has to brake solely by rocket engine. In order to not burn too much fuel and become stranded, I have to do something akin to something called 'suicide burn'. Which is pretty difficult.

Well, I did it. I managed to finally come up with a fix to the landing struts that I'm confident will work. I tested it thoroughly and it explodes at landing velocities of 3 m/s and more. But at those low speeds only a few of them breaks (I've 16 of them) and I've installed girder-box buffers underneath that saves the ground clearance. It works. So took the big bite and launched the Laythe expedition. It's both difficult and easy at the same time. Difficult because the rocket is so heavy, fragile and ungainly, that the smallest mistake or straying away only slightly from clean attitude can lead to a disaster - well, decoupling everything I do expect to be able to save the command module and crew - for the rocket. Easy because it has become a good rocket after many, many versions and tweaks, so the only thing I have to do is stay focused, and steer with small inputs and slow movements. Concentrate, stay on top of things and everything will be well. And so it went, the first rocket went into a nice circular orbit at 245 km altitude. I relaxed with a mug of coffee, then I figured WTH and launched the Vall expedition too. It went even better (male pilot ) and went into circular orbit at 249 km altitude. (For the feminists out there, he had an easier job, the Vall rocket is lighter. ) So step one is done. I'll leave them in orbit for now. Next step is to burn for escaping Kerbin and go into a solar orbit. Some other day.

Played Talos Principle. Have no idea what or who I am atm, but have an idea on what the place is. Jammed a bunch of lasers, made some connections, carried a few boxes around, and found a bunch of floaties to help unlock doors to find more floaties. So far there's only one area I'm stuck on but I have a ways to go before I need the piece it holds. Also found a weirdo tower in the frozen north.

Played some more Fallout 4 yesterday installed some armor mods and some other mods as well. There are just so many mods that it's difficult to decide which one is the best. But i have a lot of fun installing some of them finally there are mods for the Xbox one as well. And i build some beds and other furniture and i also did some quests. By the way building stuff is really time consuming.

Dropped into a meta for Dragon's Stand. Sometimes it's a little hard to figure out whether people are organizing it. Sometimes attempts are made but there are not enough players to form the necessary groups for the two to three different events that happen at once and must be completed. I landed in the middle lane and there was no commander to lead the charge. The other two commanders were separately leading the attack on the first and third lane. They kept calling for someone to put up a commander tag; that makes it easier for players to join the squad and make / port their way to where the group is. No one was putting up a tag; commander tags have to be trained up at the main hub. I have one but that was mostly to facilitate easy grouping for my guild and at fun festivities two years ago, not lead a zone meta. Besides I have no idea what event I must tackle for the middle lane, what must be done, since I've done it but once. I finally put mine up after persistent calls; the other two were afraid there wouldn't be enough people to push the middle lane. The entire meta event might fail. And immediately after that, I started calling for someone to take over. More players began to squad up on my tag and arriving. I was starting to get very worried. I was asked to pick one in the squad and transfer the tag over temporarily. I did and then that player suddenly disappeared after 10 mins. I supposed he DCed. It can happen to some when a lot of fighting is going on and there're many players. Either their internet connection or their computer cannot handle the load. I'm fortunate both are stable for me. We're left without a cmdr again and I didn't want to pick it up. Fortunately, five minutes later, a player show up and put up his tag. Relief! The meta event went off successfully.

While waiting for the World Boss to spawn, I spent an amusing five minutes looking through the Hero Finishes. These cutscenes will play only in PvP or WvWvW when you kill another player. Hero finishes can be collected via ranking up in those two play modes or picking up the HF tokens in loot. Since I don't do PvP and I only will do WvW sometimes on guild runs (not since two years ago), I hardly have collected them all. Still, I can preview the ones I don't have.

Okay, I burnt for escaping Kerbin orbit for both space ships today.
Everything went very well. The rockets functioned perfectly. They are now reduced to just a small fraction of their launch weight, having burnt most of their fuel while still close to Kerbin, their journey hardly even begun. They are still very big space ships though.
The crews are very comfortable (I always provide generous living space on long missions. There are sadist who cram in an alone, poor Kerbal in a tiny can and have him spend years there, just to "save weight". I'm not one of those. The challenge is the game.) The crews are also in a very good mood. You could call it euphoric mood. One can't help being impressed with Kerbals' passion for space flight.
Well, we could say step two is done.
Next step is somewhat elaborate. It involves modifying the orbit around the sun, increasing speed, making it more elliptical, so it reaches out and makes an encounter with Jool.

It's funny you mention Overwatch, because I also was in a major gaming funk until I found Overwatch over the weekend. I haven't been this enamored with a multiplayer shooter since Call of Duty 4 came out in 2007.

Yesterday, I finally unlocked the buggiest achievement in the recent Deus Ex games: Foxiest of the Hounds. I met the requirements for that achievement so many times, and finally I got it for Mankind Divided. Today, I am installing ReCore, and the day one patch (5.4GB) is almost as big as the game (6.1GB)!

My delightful warped gang of chaos infested abominations, otherwise known as the Cult of the Possessed, stole a huge load of wyrdstone right from under the noses of a marauding band of Skaven in Mordheim: City of the Damned. After having gotten my leader and my hero mauled in the previous mission - which left them with permanent disabilities - I didn't have much hope for this fight. But my lowly henchmen were good minions and stuffed their pouches with the glowing green stone while the leader and his brethren murdered the skaven hero in a perfectly set up ambush, and those rats that still could ran for the hills. The Shadowlord was pleased.

Finished DX:MD in Ironman mode yesterday, and decided to try it again, this time no reloads at all, complete lethal and using as few Praxis point as possible. After about 4 hours and having the worst part completed, on my way out of TF29 base, -Program stopped responding- hello Windows. Gues what? It doesn't autosave and I didn't save either. /tableflip

I hated the final boss. She kept running / teleporting away and then coming back a few minutes later. I'm assuming this is to give the player time to regain some health but by that point I'd turned on god mode (thanks to mages and vampires and destroyed armor and having to replay the whole previous level due to losing the blue lich key ) so I was just irritated. Needless to say, I would get in a few whacks and off she'd go, then I'd run around looking for her to get in a few more whacks. Took forever but she finally keeled over. I might play the other two classes up to the point they are no longer separate paths but I don't think I'll do the finale again.

Switched to SWTOR yesterday and played my JK. I made a mistake with a recruit decision. And now I got an evil char around the base. ugh. The second recruit I picked up is a cute one. I've a feeling the influence of the four allies might be a factor so I'll have to do some grinding to get them to max. One of a few reasons why I'm very less incline to run through the same thing with the other seven chars I have. The other is that there is no longer any individual stories, it's all streamline into one so there is no point to do the grind times 7.

Well, in Baldur's Gate I got my ass handed to me several times, nothing unsusual.
In DAI I completed the Hassarian quest in the Stormcoast, entered the cave that STILL HAS THE GLITCH FROM DAY 1! Seriously, they didn't fix the bugged out cave and this thing was around since the beginning. Apparently it seems to be an issue with the design of the cave because there's like an invisible wall or something that companions can't get through. Curious, I tried to use the tac camera to MAKE them stay at a certain point but the cursor or whatever didn't pass. Weird. So they stayed all crumpled in a corner trying to get through while my mage had to fight, alone, big ass spiders and mean little animals...it was frustrating. Also, at one point a BEAR !! entered the cave, holy crap. Bye potions.
Can't believe they didn't fix this. LOL.
