Strange Journey. So made it to the final boss where I hit a rock hard stopper in two ways. First she did a full party wipe in two turns, which was a mood and second was that my interest had started to wane. But kept at it, grinded a lot, got new mooks, made it further in the Womb of Grief, googled useful items and realized that I could not be bothered to grind for them and other fun stuff.
Then todays attempt I got her down to half her health. Of her first phase. And used most of my healing items to do so. So that was a mood. Was planning to go all "Woe is me" but got a better idea and turned the difficulty from standard to casual and steamrolled though the encounter. Like damn the difference in difficulty was insane, was dealing 100% more damage, taking waaay less hits it was just amazing. And not really satisfying, but the way it was shaping my other option was massive frustration, so like, I don't mind.
Since I didn't finish the Womb of Grief, I got the old Law ending, which was a bit anticlimactic but also kinda terrifying if you value free will and all. But at least we're all singing Kumbaya and not ripping out arms out of our sockets. So. It could be worse. Only got two levels of the Womb of Grief left (I think), so the idea is, if I can be bothered, to finish that up and then give the final boss another attempt on Standard and see the Redux Law ending.
But not today and not tomorrow. Because I spent so much time grinding for the last few days I think I might have gone loopy. I did like the game though. Had quite a lot of fun and am kinda itching to climb down the rabbit hole of the games in the series that are on the ds.

I went through all 59 pages of the BLM itch.io bundle I bought, and selected from that vast list about 27 I would like to play. maybe 7 of them aren't romance related. and 7 of them may actually be some sort of weird comic book, those and some books seem to have been included, but then it's referred to as a game by ichi.io. I dunno, maybe it's cuz I'm poly and not dating anyone new right now, especially cuz the pandemic is keeping me indoors, but I am in the mood for LURVE and talking about which love interests are the bestest. Maybe it's me pining for DA4.
So my efforts to continue getting used to the game grows apace. 1st I finally figured out how time advances in this game (and that it advances in the first place) and 2nd that I figured out how to prompt the tactical menu to pop up (checking to see how much ammo I have) without actually hitting the D pad button. And well I also now know that if you fail a dialogue option...you don't get a second chance at it later on. And there does not seem to be anyway to buff that stuff with armor or gear or potion.
The combat in this game is surprisingly and quickly growing on me. There is something immensely satisfying about dancing around and blocking with a few strikes just to whip out my pistol and with a mighty bang just finsishing it off. Its a bit weird that such a thing would be something you'd assign and not get its own permenant binding, but it is again remarkably cool.
And then as far as my A team is concerned...now this part of it may be a little long wheely but yeah A teams are those companions that I tend to take with me on main story quests and other important missions with one alternate. Basically one permanent companion, then another slot which can be alternated in the case of Greedfall. Right now leaning towards Siora (most likely to romance) and then Jurt...which makes sense because in universe Kurt and De Sardet has known each other for a very long time so they *should* trust each other. Just that the whole A team thing is a little weird from an in universe perspective because they are supposed to evolve naturally over time...just with repeat PTs with the same character I know it so I make them the A team member from the beginning. Complicating matter I get the feeling...and with the LP I did watch on Greedfall awhile ago...that it will be very important to bring certain characters on certain missions or maybe not bring them on.
I didn't actually...do that much of note? Looked into the death of Kurt's recruit and starting to unravel the mystery of the shadow company and then looked into the man with the silver coin. Good side quests so far.

If I remember correctly, there are capes which give 1+ to charisma. And then there is one companion who boosts it with his friendship bonus.
When the game came out you could max the skill and add a cape to get 1 over the max skill and thus have a 100% success rate on all dialog checks. But I think they changed it so that you can only have 3 points in charisma, so there are some checks you can only ever have 75% chance, even if you maxed your charisma. Which makes sense in one way but I don't like it.
Tell Me Why. An adventure game. Gorgeous graphics and customizable controls (not really important for an adventure game, but it is great that the devs cared enough to add it), dyslexia-friendly fonts. Also the game portrays trans experience realistically. The puzzles make sense and are relatively easy, but as there's no journal or dialogue log, it requires some attention.
I bought, tried the game and returned it because it froze after 10 mins of play. For me, that's a bad sign for a game that's a lot less complicated in the graphic department than HZD or ACOD.
Anyway, I was confused right the beginning because I was thinking identical twins. But it wasn't adding up in the cutscenes and the info drop. Then I thought it's fraternal twins before game crashed. I then went on to watch gameplay of the first ep and realised I was right in the first guess and where the game was going. It's an interesting idea; twins having a special ability but it's nothing new. Twins having unique bonds / abilities is documented. I was kind of disappointed.
I have encountered 1 bug*, but I started playing only recently (there might have been patches).
*The game tries to connect to something, hits the firewall, but does not stop, so I can't get to the main menu. Switching Steam to the Offline mode fixes it.
Though, I can't understand, why a single-player adventure game needs anything online. Like, there are leaderboards showing how much time or attempts I've spent on each puzzle?
10 minutes into it, I realize I haven't made a single choice. And that it's kinda just silliness for the sake of silliness. A literal angel is a fangirl of a demon she summoned, decides to become her stalker, stalks her to Hell and I was like So I look it up and it clearly says there are no choices, so that's on me. I'm out.
Highway Blossoms
Nice artwork. Acceptable voice work. As the story progressess, I get a feeling.... This is a Kinetic novel *googles definition* it is another visual novel with no choices. *sighs* I don't mind cheesy romance visual novels between any genders but I need to have choices in it.
Control - heard good things (and some not quite as good, but I need a break from massive open worlds).
It really rewards exploration and reading everything. My favourite recent game so far, I'm just working through the DLC which is also great.
A lot of the critiscms I have read seem to be from PS4 / XB users, as it doesn't work well on them as they are not really powerful enough.
Filthy peasants!
The full ray tracing experience is kind of remarkable, though. They play it up a bit - but you have to expect that - but the results are undeniable.
"Kneel before the Lord Dragon, or you will be knelt." 21 Feb 2019 at 6:59am - It has not been forgotten. It will not be forgiven. We've now met seven times... Revenge is ice cream - Serza, April 2020 Also known as Mike, David, Scott or Bruce
Uh. Well. If you're up for some haunting sadness about a lesbian couple with really good audio... Here you go. a play through essentially takes about 10 minutes (I played about 3 times). And it's very obviously making callouts on the current coronavirus crisis.
I don't think I can say I liked or disliked this. It had an effect.
This is the first visual novel I've run into where I didn't hate the mini game on the spot. however, even the demo made my hand a bit tired. Also, the demo gave me no taste of what possible romance lay in store either *shrug* Unless it's one of the two gay men and/or my kooky supervisor. If true-- pass.
edit add:
Animal Lover
Slow start. Almost lost interest. Glad I stayed on. So far I'm sweet on Edmund the ex-hamster. yep.
I suppose it had to happen eventually...despite figuring out how to do it...I still hit down on the d pad consuming a greater swiftness potion to check on my ammo reserves.
In keeping with my theme from yesterday sort of I did realize about half way through the battle of the spears that it is a big deal to me to try and recruit as many of the companions as fast as I can to get that out of the way. I also kind of assumed that...Aphra? Was there but then it does make sense she is off with the Bridge Alliance...since she is a remember. But yeah that is pretty much my next task to hunt down Deep Voice and Aphra.
On the less then bright side the dialogue system in this game continues to give me fits. With the battle of Red Spears over I had a fifty percent chance to try and convince Siora's sister to give up her vengeance...when I failed she turned on me saying that I was just interested in protecting my allies forcing me to kill one of the natives and netting me negative 2 approval...though I did pick up three later.
The game also ended off on a annoying note as for some reason I am having a difficult time leaving the area? Couldn't descend anywhere and or travel from the campsite? *exasperated sigh*...I can already tell my time might be short with this game tonight.

Yeah ray tracing looks really good on DAI in particular around Skyhold but I think it depends on the game. The F1 games definitely look better from it as well. There are some games that don't seem to benefit from it as much as others. ME Andromeda for example doesn' t look noticably diferent. It does run smoother on my newer PC but graphics wise there's not much of a difference. At least I didn't notice one. Whilst I haven't played the game itself yet on my nwe PC when benchmark testing Shadow of the Tomb Raider that looked really impressive so as I said I think it depends on the game. It has made m ewanto jump in and pla ythe TR games again that's for sure. I'm holding off for now though so I can finish games I have on the go. The only game I will be contemplating starting will be Fifa 21 as I can come in and out of the Fifa's fairly quickly. So games like my sports games such as Fifa/F1 are likely giong to be the only ones I contemplatoing starting anew if I finish any stuff on them.

I'm also sweet on Kyle, the ex ferret. Even though he smokes and he's an anarchist and pro stealing and just... I dunno. He's super sharp and intelligent. I dunno how the game decides who I've chosen or if I get to choose I just also get to make bad choices and have a fail state.

Edit Add: Well, I am definitely doing a 2nd playthrough for Kyle the Ferret. The protaganist isn't very Anti Government punk rocker-ess so even though maybe I liked Kyle more personally, it probably made better sense for her to be with the ex hamster, Edmund. Plus he hit on her first before Kyle got a chance to, and so I may have accidently locked in. (Blackwall on the ramparts all over again )
anyway. yes. a 2nd time. For Kyle. But not tonight. That was a well written little VN.
Tried No Man's Sky but it turned out to be No Sound Sky and not in the mood to find out how to fix it.
As for Shin Megami Tensei journeys. Tried out Soul Hackers but just not vibing with it. Don't find it bad per-se, just not bonding with it at all and it's got a bunch of minor things that add up into making me not want to play it. Like having to rearrange the party if you get attacked from behind and not being able to save everywhere (and I know it becomes an option somewhere in the level where I'm at, but just ugh). Also not really feeling the story. As in the way they deliver it, because like the idea is pretty cool. But not done with the game yet, just putting it in the later pile. Because there is charm there, just need to dig it out kicking and screaming.
In the meantime started up SMT Devil Survivor Overclocked and the vibe is much better there. Not instant adoration like Strange Journey, but my interest is peaked at the moment.
Gotta survive in demon infested Tokyo for 7 days and am currently at the start of day 2. Combat wise I'm doing alright. Not pulling off any fancy moves but don't feel like I'm being destroyed. Yet. Story wise I've got no idea. So far the team is still breathing but there looks to be a big screwy moment on the horizon. Since we can change our fates to live another day, we can probably also ruin ourselves as well. So that's a mood. But so far so good.
So I went over to Steam and found Animal lover in a bundle with another game by the same developer. I just wanted to support them a bit more, since I didn't entirely pay full price for the level of entertainment I received, considering I'd donated $100 for the BLM bundle and they probably didn't see a dime of that.
Another thing unrelated to romance I liked about this game is kinda like, exploring evil. what if someone who is bitter in one area just happens to have magical powers to "punish" people who aren't nice to them? But the bad guy is nice in every other way. There isn't this giant back story of violence and tragedy that drives them. They're practically a boring every day person. Its unique to me, I guess, so it stands out.
The only thing I didn't love is maybe also something unique about it, as it does explore the line between feminism and misandry a bit. But sometimes I was a bit put off by how much of a Politically Correct police lady the PC can opt to be. And I felt bad for Frankie- I did reload exactly one line, which I hardly ever do on a fist play through. Because I had said Frankie could so something for PC because I wanted to say I believed in him. Instead it was a "oh no, I'm so scared, please do this for me" and I was like AH! NO. Which meant I had to tell him No, you can't do this thing. and he was very sad face about it.
I laughed several times from this game and it got me to cry at one bit. I didn't swoon a lot with Edmund, but that's what I get with going with the safe prince hamster type. Still looking forward to getting with Kyle.My heart doesn't have to be torn anymore, I can go after Mr Ferret.

Forgot to mention tha tI to othought iewas just a gimmicky thing at first until I experienced it firs thand when I started using my nwe PC but boy it really does make games look good or at least games that take advantaghe of it. Haven't tried all my games but certainly the games in m ylibrary that I play most I've tried now.
