As I wait for Valhalla to get patched up a bit more, I decided to go back to one of my other pastimes. Started playing some Mortal Kombat 11 again, been working on getting gear for Mileena and am pretty satisfied with it. Seems they dropped the ridiculous requirements that used to be there for the character towers to more reasonable numbers. Now it's not nearly as grindy as it used to be.

Sims 4So the other day I made a new family...again consisting of a pair of gay parents and their adopted daughter said daughter has now become a young adult, fell in love with a vampire and moved in with him and his vampiric sister and some vampire guy I created so the sister wouldn't be left out 'course dragging along her dads so now we have a happy 6 family filled house with three mortals and 3 immortals
funny thing is that vampire dude is a detective...so now I'm having him do cases and stuff however, his aspiration consists of him having 5 friends...and I now have five other sims in the house he can be friends with
the bigger problem is the sister...who wishes to turn 5 people into vampires...should be fun
-- So I have to search through 'crime scenes', solve crimes...talks to suspects that kind of thing
atm. he's searching a suspect and first thing he pulls out of her pocket in total Sims fashion...is a giant fish

Nioh. I've completed the main game (and the first mission of the first DLC). By the end, I discovered that soul stones can power up the living weapon (damage buff + hyper armor) and had about 100 of them. Thus, I used this mechanic fully for the final boss and the first DLC boss. The latter still was quite challenging and not in the fun way. But equipping the phoenix guardian spirit helped a lot (it prevented the boss from one-shooting me). I post my review here, because Steam does not allow neutral reviews: The game offered a decent variety of skills and weapons, but the story was completely linear and unengaging, just as the structure of main missions, while side quests provided different types of objectives and victory conditions. The KB&M controls were customizable and generally comfortable, but there were no on-screen prompts for keyboards. The graphics and art style were detailed and consistent, FPS drops were relatively rare. The bosses were numerous and quite diverse, though most would kill the PC in 2 hits. Same for the majority of normal enemies. Loot was randomized and color-coded, like in Diablo, so it seemed very un-Souls-like. Screenshots (including the final boss):

Echoes of the Fey
So elves are called Leshin and I haven't seen any other fantasy race options. I've actually enjoyed the mini board game more than most of the story. At first, I thought they'd wasted a lot of time making an irrelevant mini game for their VN. Only to find out about 2 hours in that the protaganist ends up using it as a sort of quiji board for herself. Neat-o.
Drawbacks: bad choice for female protag voice actor. The art aesthetic seems inconsistent to me. Like...french clothes and steam punk. And could have lightened the religion a bit more for me (Even if, at least, the MC is agnostic)

Not only did I download Outer Worlds and Greedfall, but I also downloaded Just Cause 4, Control and Kingdoms of Amular: Re-Reckoning. Fortunately I bought a 2TB external hard drive a couple of months ago to fit these games. I did start playing Jedi Fallen Order last night. So far it's ok.

Cardinal Cross Nice VN, with three romance options, it took me 6 hours to finish this first playthrough. I liked the main character, i liked the romance with Egon despite some of the drama, managed to get friendship with all the companions and the ending i`ve got was satisfactory. I may try Karel`s romance in the future and try different endings. Overall it was enjoyable, got me interested until the end and i had fun playing Lana.

More running amok in Blood & Wine Decided to avoid the main story and instead do something fun, well, sort of. Met up with Count Beladal and agreed to escort him on a nature hike. Helped him 'capture' a black panther, giant centipedes, and strutting peacocks, then saved him from some more giant centipedes before taking him back to his camp. This is one of my favorite quests here, especially since it actually turns out well. The pictures are pretty cool too.
Then headed to lake something-or-other to investigate a notice about chivalric virtues. In previous games I already had done everything to meet all 5 virtues but this time I went early enough to still be missing one. The hermit told Geralt about the stone carvings that describe each virtue so Geralt went to read those. According to the hermit, the only virtue Geralt has left to demonstrate is valor.
Next stop was the ruins of the prison where Witcher Merten of the Manticore School spent some time. Apparently he served a year sentence for something and while there converted to following the prophet Lebioda. Upon release, he went in search of more of Lebioda's teachings. Before continuing that search, Geralt followed up on a contract he'd taken back in the city to find a certain knight named Francois, who was out supposedly doing something valorous in order to be worthy of marriage. Geralt found him sound asleep in his camp, snoring most valiantly.

Still farming in Story of Seasons: I've tried to bet on horse races (since my horse is still too young) and had to just look at the cook festival, since I haven't cooking tools yet. Still find myself lost from time to time, I'm the living Travolta meme in finding the right road in games. Even small places like Minearal Town.

I like this game. It's solid.
I swallowed my disgust and embraced my inner horn dog to at least see what the culmination scene would be for Nikolai. It was uncomfortable and had at least 2 red flags of blatant racism and a thirst for blood. Pass. Reload.
So that leaves the Priest ( evil grin) or my bestie partner.
Edit add: aw. I didn't play my cards right with anyone else, so he's not he only option. So I tried to finish the game romance free and died. So I guess I'll see if I don't die with a crappy boyfriend at least.

In Madden: 3 games up, basically did a world tour of the AFC West. Chiefs, Raiders, Chargers. And lets see here I did win all 3 of them to. Dominated the Chiefs which was a nice change of pace given that they did beat me the last time. They really could not get much traction going while I was able to get all the traction going. Since I am still, or at least was still, learning the Broncos playbook especially the shotguns I kind of kept the pressure up and well also good thing because I was not doing too good a job running the ball. I think I was able to score 38 points. Next game against the Raiders beat them like 45-26. Felton once more had a perfect qb rating which makes it the third time in recent memory that he has been able to do that. Had like 5 TDs and around 470 yards. Smith also had a fairly good game that game. Actually its funny given how often I use Sharpe on third down it sometimes is hard to justify using him on anything else and thus going to my other receivers. Though I think this was the game I did have several very long third down plays which had to be converted. Also Felton had an amazing run where he rushed up the left and I thought he was going to be tackled almost instantly but either did a move or just rushed right on by and got well into the second level for a huge gain. A couple of good runs overall. So the Chargers, which does usually give me various amounts of fits, including the last time I played them scoring 22 points in the fourth quarter to make the game...interesting. So, with it being like 35-17 in the fourth quarter and with kind of a struggling run game again in the fourth I stayed aggressive and surprisingly it worked, with me being accurate I ended up winning 45-17. Feltdon did not have a perfect game but did have 3 more TDs and a few rushing TDs from my backs.

10 hours in and well... I want to reload and say I'll stick with Gross Man, just to see if that adds stability to the end game slides. I need to try it from the start again to try the two different romances, the bestie and the priest. But apparently the Bestie really doesn't like it if you smooch around and it kinda locks you out of him. Isn't Fenris that way too?
I like that I could play a promiscuous woman who refuses to be shamed about said promiscuities. I didn't love so much that she defaulted to being an alcoholic but I guess I didn't have to live through any forced bad decision making, so what she gets up to off screen is whatever.
It's also really clear that there will be a sequel but not in a "all these questions are left unanswered and my rival will be destroyed by another protaganist" kinda way. I'm looking forward to the next installment
Things that I liked: It's strategic mini game, as simplistic as it was, was satisfying to master (although I dont know so much about going through it again from scratch). I was actually disappointed that it didn't get harder. The singing of one of the Love Interests was game themed and well done. The storyline was absorbing. There was a polyamorous default option if you didn't get with anyone, but maybe this happens no matter what? I think it's only because I committed to no one. I just don't get how I have to agree to work for them to date one of them.
Bad: I don't like the art. And the voice actor of the protaganist. Arkady's VA could have been better as well, very scratchy.
yeah, probably going to sink another 10 hours into it so...worth the money.

Persona 4 Finally found the skip scene button. By accident. When I was trying to press the "Check backlog" button. So you can imagine my joy. Eh actually didn't mind it since I was just at the end of the scene and the skip mechanic is more of a fast forward thing (unless you're in a cutscene, then it's proper skip) and the implementation is really fitting and well done. Also came in super handy later. So notes on the last two sessions. Naoto is the cutest thing ever. Never really used them the first run, since I lacked in stats and so never really got invested. Been using them in the A team this run and oh gosh they and their persona is so cute. The persona upgrade also looks really, really good as well, so that's nice. And listening to them nerd out in party talks is adorable. Trying out new S links is so worth it. Been following a guide since my time management is shite and ticking off which characters I would try and befriend if I go full crazy and do a third run. So many times I've been like "Yeah not you" at the first link and then "Omigosh I love you and need you in my life!" So that's a mood. A good one. Have made it through the first game ends this session and did a couple of bad ones. Did the 1st bad one on my first run and it remains the favorite, since the 2nd kinda lacks the loss of innocence spiel and 3rd is kinda meh. Also did the special ending which I guess is bad? I enjoyed it tremendously but also dude wtf. Did play it like 3 times and was pretty disappointed you can't make him shove the protag into the tv. No delicious rewards for being stupid, but the threats were fun. Doing it proper was hilarious thought. His face and manic cackles were just delightful.
And I dig the dynamic way more than I should. Ended the session setting up for the true ending, which should have a fresh twist on this round, so looking forwards to that.

Oooooo. No wonder everything felt like the middle of a story. I was playing Episode 2 that whole time. Episode 0 was free, and I paid like a dollar for episode 1. Now all this backstory and the name drops will make sense. Next time I play "the Last Sacrament' it'll be more like... Playing Witcher 3 the 2nd time around after actually playing Witcher 2.
Anyway, episode 0 is essentially a quick setup of why your character is so special in spite of her alcoholic sexual adventures and obsession with board games.
It does a time skip, I believe there may be a short story or a video involved to cover this part, and then it's episode 1. I dunno what the story is behind that decision, maybe a money one.
But I'm super liking the Heremon friendship vibe. Now that I get what they've done for each other, I totally ship them.

So Madden: To finish off my learning of the Broncos playbook I played...the Patriots. Sorry Brady and co. And well this game was quite...a game really. . I won 52-31 but for a little while there it became quite terrifying. I was up 31-10 at halftime and feeling quite pleased with myself but at the beginning of the third quarter to the beginning of the fourth it was all Pats. They made it 38-31 by outscoring me 28-7. Well eventually things stabilized, obviously, my defense put it together and my offense did put two more drives in the endzone. With that out of the way started a new franchise. And well I did a last minute audible, was going to resurrect the great Mike Shannhan, former Denver coach to lead my Denver super team but said...nah screw it I will just be my super QB. I did this with Brady back in the day as I think I might have mentioned. And its still weird with the different camera angles and the idea that I am only playing the QB...so all I have to do is throw or hand it off and then just lean back and sip some tea...been watching the Spiffin Brit a lot lately. And well the disadvantage of this is you get no control of the roster. Considering this is probably going to be my only season with this franchise it does not matter but it could be annoying moving on for future seasons as I cannot afford my super players around me as I am probably going to eventually go over the salary cap. So first up was...the Chargers. Oh joys. On MNF. And it was the usual stuff...the usual tight grind with them and I ended up only winning 48-38. Might have technically needed a fourth quarter come back, I seem to remember doing that. But Felton went off at least in the short game. 373 yards, 4 TDs, and 2 INTs including on the last play of the game...De Greene only had 69 yards and 1 TDs for himself. Sharpe went off for 150 + yards, one TD. Smith got hurt which was annoying but it was not that big of a deal ultimately because he will be back in the next game I have against the Cowboys. And well it was just a fun game by and large moving. And despite winning 48-38 with less then 2 minutes left they wouldn't let me win out the clock because they took a timeout when I kneeled which is annoying...and then I got a bit cute and tried a Play action, which was picked off but they didn't score again.

A bit of a semi-retro throwback... Command & Conquer, Red Alert 3For those who don't know, a synopsis: Imagine if someone went back in time and prevented Hitler from being born? Congratulations, instead of the Nazis taking over Germany and then attempting to conquer the world, Russia can do it now! Well, instead of having to defeat fascism, then communism; now the free world has to defeat communism, then communism AGAIN only they have giant zeppelins, tesla coils, crazy snipers, and bears. At least we have time-travel, weaponized light, and Tanya (tank-tops, one-liners, and enough C4 to make a Marine blush). Basically, it's WW2 with the Allies (United States, Great Britain, France, Germany, Korea, etc.) VS the Soviets (Russia, Iraq, Libya, China, etc.) It can vary based on which game/timeline you go with, but that's the gist of it, with a few major differences. Albert Einstein is key to the Allies' technological edge, and gameplay-wise it is a test of quality-VS- quantity; Allies are blue, Soviets are red. Anyway, the third installment (circa 2008-2009), now has the Empire of the Rising Sun, because time-travel shenanigans, AGAIN. Picture giant robots, transforming mecha, ninjas, and psychic schoolgirls. Yeah. So now it's a three-way-war between the Allies, Soviets, and Imperials. So, in brief terms, the three different factions have "their" prime unit type, i.e. the realm of war that they have the edge. Soviets run on land. Imperials dominate at sea. Allies rule the skies. That isn't to say that you can't have a strong air-force playing as the Soviets, or that the Allies can't muster mighty land units, but I digress. ------------- A 4-player skirmish, me and one AI ally VS two AI players, a 2-vs-2. My favorite faction is the Allies (naturally), and I'm facing off against an Imperial team. I'm going for my hybrid-strategy of turtle/strike-team, where I have a nigh-impenetrable base and a crack-squad of high-powered units. Either I use my Chronosphere (lets you teleport units anywhere on the map) to get some Mirage Tanks (cloaking vehicles that utilize the aforementioned weaponized light) or, if I can get to the maximum tech level, Harbinger Gunships (massive, heavily-armored bombers that carry both high-powered chain-guns and "Collider" cannons). I have several Airbases to construct aircraft, and an Armor Facility to construct a team of Mirage Tanks; my Chronosphere is fully-charged, and my Proton Collider (Allies' Ultimate Weapon) is going to be ready in 2 minutes. What I didn't plan for was six Imperial Giga-Fortresses to decimate 85% of my base in 30 seconds. So now I'm down to a single Ore Refinery, two Power Plants, a Multigunner Turret, and an Outpost. I have NO production capability. I cannot build any units, and if I lose these last few structures, I'm defeated. I do have a single Harbinger Gunship with full veterancy, and three Apollo Fighters. Thankfully, the H.G.'s repair naturally, and with full veterancy that repair rate is increased, so I can take some hits... But boy howdy is this suddenly more difficult. My tiny "base" is well-hidden, but as mentioned, I have my few units, and that's it. A tense battle of attrition ensues, with me carefully bombarding the enemy Generators to shut down their production capability. Because I've lost my Construction Yard, I no longer have access to my special abilities; no Cryoblasts or Time Bombs for me. My ally has built several Aircraft Carriers, and is using their EMP Missile liberally, so that does buy me some breathing room to rain down fire from on high, and eventually we take out one Imperial team. At this point, it's just a matter of circumventing their air defenses so I can take out the remaining Imperial Docks. Victory.

I've surrendered to the nintendo sales, and got Story of Seasons: friends of mineral town for Switch. Cute, I like the chibi style more than I thought. I got granpa's old farm, and started working. In a few days, an old man have given me a young horse to raise. The fact that is a remake with older concepts is blatant, expecially after playng trio of town. But for now my only real complain is about the limited customization of our farmer: I would have liked at least choose hair/eye color. I've jus tsurrendered and bought Immortal Fenyx Risin gwas a little worried about the price tag but it looks a fun game. No tsure when I'll get round to playing it but I think I'll enjoy it when I do. I see you got it in the end

I see you got it in the end Y&eah I did It is a bit costly but I thoughtI was likling everything I was seeing about it so thought it was worth the gamble after umming and arring about it all day. Looks like they made it pretty accessible too given the amount of difficulty settings it has which is another thing that's worked in it's favour. I'm looking forward to playing it even if I'm not suer when that'll be yet I know it releases in a couple of days but I know I won' t be playing it at launch as I've already got my hands full finishing m ylatest run of Andromeda atm. Then I was going to play HZD after that the PC version of Halo (by Halo I'm referring to both the Halo Wars games and the MCC which is now complete) and then AC Origins and Oddysey. I may play it after Oddysey but I'm not commiting to it yet as I want to keep things flexible in case I want to change my mind. Eithe rwa ythat's a lot to get through for now.

And that's quite a few games to go through! Personally, I plan to play it on lauch. That's why I haven't restarted Breath of the Wild, even though I've been itching to play it. I hope it'll scratch that itch
