Guess what game I am... hints: - The recent discussions in its thread made me reinstall it. - I tried it a few months ago and uninstalled it before finishing the intro. I thought it was because of the kb/mouse controls, but they are fine this time . Could be because they share a tiny bit of DNA with Immortals Fenyx Rising and the last time I was playing something more "simple". - I'm going Strider as starting vocation (not idea later, I remember playing a Magick Archer once and I got bored, I probably should keep to melee/ranged...maybe Assassin later or Ranger). I also installed a 10GB textures mod on my Skyrim. It looks pretty, but I feel I'm going to focus more on pic above.

I've been doing a tour of my Skyrim mods (to see if I need to update them) and I just realized I installed a mage mod that add stuff for shamans and druids that I never tried. Guess what game I am... hints: - The recent discussions in its thread made me reinstall it. - I tried it a few months ago and uninstalled it before finishing the intro. In Star Wars SquadronsSo due to a rather nasty bug I turned down this game's difficulty to story mode. Basically when I left the Star Destroyer after ANY reload...including the story mandated one where you have to go back to the Overseer. Fortunatley this game is very generous with the checkpoints and reloading checkpoint solved it so I was able to at least enjoy the final bit...but basically the entire screen would go entirely black except for the objective markers...and I mean only the objective markers. Still in this state I did make it through. So here we go. Mission 10: Had to be the Imperials and lead an attack on the Starhawk and its facilities with extra special bombs and stuff. It was actually a fair bit of fun blowing huge chunks out of the Starhawk thoug with the Baradium bombs. I was however less then amused by the idea that *I* was going to be responsible for killing Hera Syndulla...at least over in Ace combat 7 me killing Harlan was an accident...and ended up not being me. What a powerful, powerful, powerful scene though...the Harling kill. Anyways back to Squadrons. I was a bit put off because it then switched to a cutscene with Terissa, who was betrayed by Linden, berating him for not being there for his people...for abandoning everyone...when this was always a part of the strategy so he was only not there because of something she did...but then the scene switched and his Frigate jumped right into the path of the missile barrage....very hollywood but still welcome. Mission 11 Another neat set piece utilizing a series of bombs and turning it into a minefield. Which meant the greatest danger to me...was me. Still fun little level though. Mission 12: And then back to the Republic as we were going to a com facility to get it back up and running so we could call into reinforcements.
Linden joined us...I guess? Not sure if he is going off with the reinforcements and we are going to protect the fleet...nah I think that is what is happening. Also had to abandon the Starhawk.

Baldurs Gate 3
I finished my playthrough with Raven, the drow rogue. Was a nice run, rogues are really versatile in that game.
My new playthrough is a Tiefling wizard named Miya Soral (it's the name of one of my pen & paper characters). I will try to romance Astarion with her, because I didn't do that romance. I'm not a fan of him, but he seems to be very popular, so I want to see, what the fuss is about. I'm not sure, if I will be able to romance him, since he is clearly chaotic evil and approves of that stuff and I like to play good mostly.

Well that was...dissapointing. In Star Wars Squadrons. So...I finished the game. Now first of all I find it really ironic that I started Vahalla first, been only playing Squadrons now and then...and I finished it first. Plus it has the same problem with the story that Battlefront did but about ten times worse... that its story was just a giant tutorial for the multiplayer. But I guess that would be better to cover for the spoiler section...also the inevitable question 'should I review' or not. I also discovered a weird little gameplay thing..when you have a mission where you can fly different fighters and the capital ship is available for reload...you can change your fighter...but not your loadout. Yeah that didn't make me happy. Mission 13 So this was one of those missions that really harkened back to the one mission where you were assaulting...I think...no it was an imperial station from the inside in that case. But they wanted us to fly through the Starhawk and up its tractor generator to cause it to explode. Which was a good idea in theory Star Wars loves its trench runs...but it was trash because I suppose it would be trash flying around in the middle of a starship with pipes and generators and stuff.
Also we dueled Lindon and then crashed him into the Starhawk...yey. But we did it.
And then the Imperial Story wrapped up with the Overseer jumping away and then Terissa waxed eloquent about how bad ass they were and how the New Republic was not long for the world...
Yeah its actually really weird playing as the Empire knowing Jakku can't be too much into the future and also just being with a bunch of monodimensional muhahaha people. And then the rest of the series from here too with the First Order and Palpatine and just yikes.
But hey at least we will wrap up the story with an epic duel between squadrons in the next game...right? Mission 14 So Lindon is alive...yey.
So this mission was a rather neat setpiece outrunning an exploding moon through a debris field.
And then just...that was it. We escaped...we dealt the Empire a final blow...but the story just ended. So the set up is...now we follow Vanguard and Titan Squadron...in Multiplayer...that will be where we have the most fun. *groan*

Finished Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. I enjoyed it, I really liked the ability variety. The story was enjoyable enough, though the Cal/BD1 relationship seemed awful familiar to Pilot/Titan relationship in Titanfall 2. Respawn has a type. LOL.

Kingmaker The quests became mixed up. By rights I have to receive a notification that someone was stirring up a lot of trouble in the kingdom, then I would assign advisors to locate the source of the troubles. The notification didn't arrive because after I received a heads up from a certain fey, I went travelling to find the clue she gave. In the course of that travel, the quests that should have been given by the advisors appeared. I ended up doing them, resolved the problem behind the sudden kingdom invasion and returned to the capital. It's only then I got the notification and the advisor missions popped. So in essence, I was doing the particular quest line... backwards! As I've played this game before, I believe one of the companion's quests fail to appear as it's tied to the invasion quest. It's not going to make much of an impact I should think because I inadvertently failed her quest before and nothing untoward occurred. This particular companion's later / last quest is not as imperative as the others. A fail in the chain of the other companions' quests meant their deaths or departure.

Valheim: Freydis have been searching the black forests for crypts. A black forest is indeed a dark, deadly but beautiful place. She is however much better at handling mobs now than before as her skills have increased. Anyway, the second crypt yeilded ONE surtling vore. Which is one more than her first crypt. The she decided to scout a troll cave but the troll sniffed her immediately. Nowhere to kite so she hightailed out of there. . After two nights hunting the forest without returning to base she found another crypt and this one was a jack-pot! NINE surtling cores. So now she had the ten neeeded for a kiln and a smelter. Another troll bit the dust as well. Bronze weapons here I come.

Finished my vanilla run of Fallout 4.
It was different, what with random objects killing me on contact. (Looking at YOU, pickup truck outside Trudy's diner!)
I sided with the Institute and Minutemen.
I had to wipe out the Railroad. Brought X6-88 with me. They opened fire. I walked out.
Went back to Sanctuary, Deacon was there at a Weapons Bench. Almost like he knew. But even the master of disguise was no match for the man who lost everything.
Then I was tasked with removing the Brotherhood of steel. I chose to snipe the garrison so they wouldn't know it was me. Blew up Liberty Prime, that I had helped restore. I wonder if Maxson ever regretted exiling Danse? I suppose the irony of a synth and the "grandfather" of the Institute being the only surviving Paladins will remain with me.
I rebuilt the Minutemen. I disarmed the Gunners. I overthrew the Super Mutants. I liberated Nuka-World. I saved Far Harbor. The Silver Shroud lives. The Mechanist is my ally. Raiders die at my command. Another settlement needs my help.
But war, war never changes.

Kingmaker I'm not a fan of the D&D rules, especially when it comes to defining lawful good, etc, etc. A group of dwarven miners turned up, asking to settle in the kingdom as it is renown for law and order and to open mines and so on. I want to say no and the option to say no is defined as *drum roll* lawful evil. wut??? Excuse me, isn't that a neutral response? How is it evil?

Kingmaker So I'm at the last stage, doing House ABC and there's a mirror quest. To see what has happened to a NPC, the mirrors must be activated / viewed in order. I looked at the wiki which specified three mirrors and nothing happened. I did another search and it turned out there're four mirrors. Stupid wiki. What's worse is that if it's done wrong, then it's gone (bug). It cannot be redone. If I really want to do it, then I have to reload to a save that's about more than an hour ago which I'm not going to do. This quest doesn't do anything except to show what happened to that NPC. His fate is already sealed and over, there is no saving him so I'm not going waste my time with. It's one of those stupid obscure lengthy quests in Kingmaker.

Sims is strange game. Some days your playsession is just filled with regular, every day events. Then next time you play it, you have vampire dying on your balcony because he's allergic to sunlight, random lady dying from cardiac arrest during love festival and your house is overrun by gnomes that'll electrocute you if you give them wrong gift. And you set yourself on fire while making salad.

Finished up Planescape Torment Enhanced. It was pretty good. The main plot was interesting enough, though I thought the side content fell a bit flat. Companions didn't seem all to interesting either. They had a few good talks but then seemed pretty silent throughout the rest of the game.
Moved on to Tower of Time now. So far the story seems pretty interesting and is keeping me going. I also like that the party banters quite often while exploring. It's an odd combat system though that I really haven't encountered before. It has a separate exploration mode, then when you encounter enemies you go into a battle map of sorts that's real time with pause/slow but then it's pretty much like a hoard mode fight.

Finished Rise of the Tomb Raider yesterday. Just like the first reboot, this is a really good game and a fun action adventure romp. I just don't quite get why they chose to tell pretty much the exact same story as the first game had again. I mean, we just came back from an island where some unexplained ancient power created an army of the undead which a shadowy conglomerate of modern military bad guys views as the potential for eternal life and thus sends a big bad merc with an army to get. Meanwhile, there is one character we are supposed to like who is all tangled up in the ancient power thing somehow and at the end, we save the day by destroying it rather than let it fall into enemy hands. The story was generic the first time, it still is, even if now we are on an island of fertile land in the middle of inhospitable Siberia istead of an Island and there are a few more nice natives around but otherwise, not much has changed. Anyway, what the story lacks in originality, it makes up for in presentation. I like the new Lara, who is a little less whiny than in the first reboot but still not the over-the-top heroin from the old games. Camilla Luddingtons excellent voice over helps to sell it, too. The real star of the adventure is the setting though. The environments are just gorgeous and the cahnging ambient light is the cherry on top. Reallu cool. The gameplay didn't really change from the first reboot and still feels like an Uncharted rip-off but again, it's also a really well made rip-pff so this is not a criticism. If had to criticize though, I'd say the game is too easy (at least on normal difficulty). It was fine to blaze through in order to reduce my PoS a little but if I had wanted to play this in earnest (as a release buy or something) I'd this would have been one of the few games, where I'd have had to up the difficulty in order to preserve some sort of challenge. The fights are simply a joke if you explore even a little and marginally upgrade Lara's skills and weapons. The way this went down, the hints of survival gameplay which the devs put in there (with ammo crating and whatnot) didn't even show. And even the environmental puzzles (while sometimes rather cleverly designed) are very easy, especially because Lara has the annoying tendency to just blurt out the solution immediately. Would have been nice if she'd wait at least 5 minutes or something to let the player try on their own first. But well, at least this way the game had a nice flow to it. All in all, it was a very fun ride, so this one gets 8.5/10 byzantine murals.

Kingmaker Finished the game. My decisions on Pitax didn't go so well. I removed the original guard, intending to set up one loyal to the crown but strangely, no such kingdom mission came up. It doesn't make sense. Since I wasn't able to set up the replacement, the place went to h*** in the epilogue slides. The fault cannot be placed on the player, it's the devs' idiotic design. Since the idea is to have the player manage the kingdom, why deliberately not give any mission to replace the guard? I also refused the representative chosen by the four trade houses of the place as governor; he didn't do **** and couldn't unite the four houses during the reign of the despot. I doubt he could do any better as a governor. I wanted someone from my own kingdom. Again, I didn't get a chance to choose, it's all decided by the game and I never knew who was the governor. However, he was a good fella since he died defending someone in the last phase. Still nameless though. There're some stupid design decisions with the game overall although I notice there're some minute improvements. Newcomers who didn't research would know the secret ending is the best one of all. VAs are excellent. Amelia Tyler did great work.
