Hitman 3
Love all the levels, don't really have a favorite, because they're all cool in their own way.
Dubai, UAE Dartmoor, England Berlin, Germany Chongqing, China Mendoza, Argentina Carpathian Mountains, Romania
You start by para-dropping to the tallest building in the world, the Burj Al-Ghazali, looking down upon the sky with a sun-themed art exhibit.
The level in Dartmoor has a legit murder-mystery; by posing as the detective and figuring out whodunit you almost forget you're there to assassinate someone.
The level in Berlin is arguably the most "inverted", in that not only are there a whopping TEN targets as opposed to one or two, but they're hunting YOU.
Disguises don't fool them, and for every one you drop they carry some gadgets.
Nothing like blending in with a pink balaclava and leaving with three lock-picks, two vials of poison, a silenced machine-pistol, two keycard-hackers, a concealed knife, ten earpieces, and a coconut... While disguised as a pizza-delivery guy on a moped. Even better, Florida Man is there, and you can take his "disguise" like in Miami.
Chongqing rocks the cyberpunk feel, with rainy streets and neon signs, plus a top-secret data center underground. Disrupt mad science and throw hammers at thugs. Enter as a noodle-chef, leave as the man without a history.
Mendoza is a swanky vineyard. It's got everything; wine-tasting, a theater, outdoor waltz/tango and enough gauchos, mercenaries, backroom deals and backstabbing to make even the most cancelest culture blush. Mind the crusher.
The Carpathian Mountains are actually ***REDACTED***, and it begs the question of ***REDACTED***.
All in all, one of the best trilogies I've played.

I'm trying to fill in the big lot in my Newcrest world in Sims 4...keyword being trying I'm terrible at building as it is, and making a big mansion seems to be killing me a friend of mine suggested building a vampire manor...but I've no idea how to tackle it, and looking up ideas from other simmers is daunting (mainly because they're so f-cking good) Can you just turn it into a sports field or is that also difficult? I could, but I don't have many sports items so the things I could put down would be rather limited
I've a basketball court and a roller blade/ice skate rink and that's about it...and I already placed both on different lots, the roller blade rink in my park and the basketball court at my gym. at first I figured, maybe I should place my 'graveyard' on the big lot...but my current one is big enough as is as well.
I'll just keep trying, the house I posted was made with trial and error as well

Today in Valheim I decided to level up Thorgrimm the viking! New seed world. Early on he found a nice seaside property and went for an early raft. It turns out the sea was not the sea but a lake. So after preparing for an expedition he sailed over the lake and kept trekking all through the night, a day and the next night until he reached another shore. This must be the sea? Right. He got there during the second night of his expedition and started to prepare the ground for a homestead. When the sun came up he glanced over to the left and there was something big and blue moving among the trees just some hundred meters away. Sure enough a troll. Yeah, no way this base will survive long. After some recon the other direction a new spot was found. It will be called Stenstrand! Odin owns ye all!

Last night I finished the Story Mode of GTA V. I have...mixed feelings. 54-55 hours for a game that cost me NZ$25 is a pretty good return and I had fun throughout, which is the main thing. The only other Rockstar game I've played (other than a handful of minutes of GTA3 years ago) was RDR2, which is one the all-time greats, in my view. So there are similarities between the two, for sure. Things like attention to detail and an absurd amount of "holupaminute"* are front and centre. Easy to learn, hard to master gameplay is also clearly present. The story was good enough and the early pacing was far, far more engaging than RDR2, which starts with the speed of continental drift. GTA V was straight into the action, with a bank robbery and then a shoot-out followed by a car chase. The three main leads - which is cool and something I don't recall experiencing since Quantic Dream's Fahrenheit/Indigo Prophecy - were all fun, although Michael lagged Trevor and Franklin a bit. Driving through Los Santos in a fully modded car was all kinds of fun. Graphically it still holds up, really well. Despite all of that, I found the end to be underwhelming. I mean, the 'good guys' - I guess - won, and got their big pay day, but now, unlike RDR2, the stuff left to do seems largely uninteresting and detached from the world and the story just completed. The Stock Market could be interesting, but I keep blowing up the vehicles of my portfolio's competitors and nothing happens Will try a bit more tonight, but if the world (post story) doesn't grab me soon, I might just head back to D:OS2. Solid 7/10. Will probably play again at some point. *credit to Girlfriend Reviews

*sigh* one whole day of redoing (with a few breaks) and restarting my newest house build in The Sims 4...and this is as far as I've gotten I rather like how it's turning out so far, but I'm struggling with doing the second floor (doesn't really help that most of it still looks like gigantic blocks of meh ) I tried looking up some references for what I'm going for (kinda going for Victorian/Gothic vibe), but I can't make heads or tails from them

Yakuza 4. Toot the horn of Victory! Suffering in spoilers + some pics for the occasion. So third try was the charm. First fight with Saito was a pain as usual, but managed to get out fairly unscathed. Just needed to chow down on one herb and one toughness z. Trio after that needed some more healing item muncing and had a super close call with managing to open the inventory. But made it through. Second fight with Saito went as well as it could go for me. Found that two quick jabs and charged punch were quite helpful in whittling him down. And downing a few tauriners to get some heat action while he was on the ground certainly helped. Rooftop went pretty splendidly. So broke down the first gate then hid behind the wall like a coward so Sniper couldn't get any action in as I beat up the first three reinforcements. Then used their wooden katana to heat action the bomber man to an early grave. Then broke down the second gate and rushed to the next one so the Sniper would be taken out of the equation. Then ran back to the other end of the roof like the coward that I am. That broke up the reinforcements, so I could take them out one by one with my best friend the Steeldrum. Bomber man nr 2 stayed behind, so could take him on, one on one. Aka spammed grab and throw on him and let him feel the pain of stun lock. [Hamazaki is on the left, Saejima on the right and whole lot of guards in the middle.] Showers of doom was a mess, since I tried running up the stairs to see if I could get a steeldrum to use, but they had closed the door. Then there was the grab fest of the century down the narrow staircase. Like Saejima was just passed down the stairs in-between loving grabs of the prison staff. Then finally made it back to the shower room, aka had some space to run and things got better. Field of terror was actually kinda pleasant. So unlike in the other games, they are super shy with shooting their pistols. So like a dude with a gun is pretty much a non combatant, unless his friends have guns and then they get just mean. But this one was just on his lonesome, so just decked his face off and then led the other guys on a little Benny Hill chase scene spiced with a bit of turning around and a beefy fist to the face for the chasers. Then it was just me and my boy Saito on the field. Emptied a handgun clip in his face and then two punch charged him to death, since this fight is in a massive open space so his little wall stunlock has no power here! Sayonara for now Saito. Next chapter is just a friendly spar with Kiryu at the beach. It was nice and Saito free. Then it was back to Kamurocho. Actually did all but two of his quest in the earlier run and one of them wont start until the finale. Other one was a fishing quest. I still don't get how it works, but managed to catch a goby, a prawn and a briefcase and the game decided to let me pass. So that was nice of it. Saejima was around level 15 when I started the final section. Ended up having no problems with the stealth section, even if the game tried to mess with me by changing the camera position when I really didn't need it to. He gained two levels before the final boss, who was as always both a massive treat and such a darn pain. But hey, it's two shirtless dudes fighting to the death in the batting cages, how can you not have fun? So anyways. Started Tanimura's part by playing Mahjong (I think I'm starting to enjoy it...), completing one hostess club quest line and seeing the fruits of the Hostess maker grind in Akiyama's part. Not sure if it was worth it. But probably going to finish up the hostess club stuff before starting the main quest, since there are no thugs in the city to rain on my day for now. Not too worried about loosing to them in battle, but might be tricked into a chase quest and those have a tendency to end in tragedy. So fun times ahead.

Working through Tower of Time. Gotten all the party members at this point and am on the 7th floor. I like the story and characters, they seem interesting but I have gotten a bit tired of the combat. It comes down to essentially just enemy types spawning through portals that you fend off in waves, can have some tactical elements with certain abilities but does get tiring. At this point I'm just running on story mode and am using the fast forward button in combat to get through it faster.

A predator's reactions is a few times faster than a human's because every part of their physical being is forged for stalking and hunting. Destruction. Cass would be smarter to get out of the way of that charge and hope she made it. But enough of this.

But this is a BIG Dragon i don't think his reaction time is as fast as for example a tiger so i still think Cassandra has plenty of time. And hey this is Cassandra we're talking about she's fast as lightning. Okay enough of this now.

some progress on my 'vampire manor' in Sims 4 Still doesn't look as good as I'd like, but it'll do. Added a second and third floor (plus basement with the coffins ) and furnished the first floor, still need to do the second floor and add some more plants in the garden

Yakuza 4 Guess who's back. Back again. Saito's back. Tell a -
Oh no wait he's dead. But like you can't even imagine the satisfaction of just absolutely destroying him. Granted I needed to use a few healing items and may have been decked with some serious armor. But that doesn't matter. Being able to grab that little twit and slam his filthy face into the ground...
So yeah still carrying grudges from my first run.
But yeah, Tanimura's section was before that. It was alright. Had my first crash this run during his big battle of chapter 1. During the final cutscene of that battle. With like maybe 5 minutes until the save option would pup up? So yeah, got a bit salty. Figure it was just because I alt tabbed earlier in the session and the game had been running for longer than usual. Still didn't take any chances the second run and skipped the cutscene I crashed at. Also ended up skipping all of the cutscenes during chapter 4 finales. Since it had boat chase I was certain I needed like 10 tries at. But got it in the second try with a massive stroke of good luck. So really didn't want to risk it. Which is a pity since the cutscenes in chapter 4 are absolute perfection.
But his section was fine. Still stuck in Saejima's fighting mode, so had some trouble combat wise but nothing that bags full of healing items couldn't fix.
Now at Kiryu's substories, which I mostly skipped my first run, so finally some new stuff for me. Think I got like 15 substories I haven't seen yet. And 4 hostesses...yay? Probably.

In Star Wars Battlefront 2It is funny that this game which is not a dog fighting space sim ends up being better then the EA dog fighting space sim game... I do partially kid and this is mostly for my preference third person views of anything...and for some reason even though I think it had a lot of the same controls and control scheme they somehow felt more natural. On the other hand the whole missile lock on and...fire...thing is worse in this game. But yeah both missions were kind of a lot of fun flying around in Versio's TIE fighter. Though there was also annoying death loops involved with both of them. Speaking of third person it was a bit later for this but I did find it weird because I was in first person as Iden but then accidentally flipped a button which moved me to third person. Don't know what caused it and I was not able to flip it back...not that I would want to keep it that way but always kind of practicing for my career to review these games. lol. So based on the Mandalorian and based on other real world things I don't think it really bothers me just how evil the Empire is...that being said Iden's line mocking the Rebellion for believing in hope...its just I mean I cannot express what an utter and complete crap line that is. I was just going to kind of leave it there but you know how damaging that is to her as a character? How much it makes evil her look so monodimensional and probably goes a long way to making the whole heel turn she does to join the Rebellion into an actual heel turn. Because I realized that without theline...I mean I realized in the middle of typing this...that without that line they already had a perfect set up for this whole thing. Her and Meeko were talking about how Rebellions were built on hate and destruction...which makes sense given Imperial upbringing...but then they would see the destruction of Vardos and it would've been like OMG the Empire is also built on hate and destruction...were we lied to? But nope we get a character who as an evil baddy probably kicks puppies on the side and then is suddenly good... hope this makes sense. On the flip side though the Luke Skywalker section of this game is amazing and Luke Skywalker is still one of the bestest most awesomenest characters in all of fiction. Luke: You have a choice. Meeko: *skeptically* The rebellion? Luke: To be better.

Kingmaker In the last part of the game. There was one or two additional new stuff but one of the quests bugged out. This quest is about someone stealing the throne and I resolved it early in the previous PT. The steps for solving is; ask three NPCs questions, thereafter, a kingdom advisor quest will appear or the player can wander around a certain area and discover the the thief in a random event. I asked the questions, wander the area but no discovery came up. This dragged on to the next act because I was hoping a advisor resolution would pop. Nope. So this quest is undoable in this PT. I ran a search and this random event should occur after I was given a clue to a place. Nothing happened. This happened too for other players. My last resort is to force the reveal of the location with a mod. I went there, the thief is there but he doesn't have the throne so I cannot ask him about it. Total quest glitch. This one will be left hanging in the log forever. The MC will have no throne but sit on a stool instead. Oh well, I can pretend she ordered another throne made after the game ends.

Kingmaker I finished the game. I have a better ending for a certain city but I chose the wrong governor; I was right about the chosen leader by the four Houses. I should have appointed another NPC that I managed to keep alive in this PT. The kingdom report card in the epilogue slides are all great except for one rather strange line about some group that persistently try to emulate the MC's effort in claiming the region and to overthrow her. I've no idea what triggered that because I didn't get that epilogue line in the previous PT. The plausible cause I can think of is that I refused a quest for this PT or it could be due to the fact I chose to build a university. I'm thinking the culprit is the university. Because of the DLC, there's a additional quest for the last phase and a few new SQs. I didn't recruit Bart as diplomat and instead chose Linzi (this is the first time I try her out for this role). She's a great choice. Bart met an end befitting him in the last phase. However, I had to switch Linzi over to curator and had Valerie assume the role of diplomat at a certain point. By then, I had already reap the benefits of Linzi's advice and avoided a few bad problems. Tristian did fine as Councilor this time because I chose not to agree to one of his suggestions in the kingdom foundation building so no region broke away. I realised in my PTs of Kingmaker, the party of six I always take out more often than not has only one guy in it. Jubilost. I like him for his acerbic remarks and I always reserve the Top Hat (gear) for him because he looked so cute in it. And oh yes, he's always given the role of the cook whenever the party makes camp. ...haha, now I've no idea what to play.

Thorgrimm is moving up in the world. Slowly. The forest moved into the base and even trashed some of the spikes. But the greydwarves were fended off again. He is getting ready to move from raft to Knarr (or karve in yinglish I guess). Still sailing the lake on the raft home after good ore run is nice as well.
Sailing in this game is just so refreshing, albeit it is NOT fast travel.

So the other day I figured out the problem with the house I was building in Sims 4...it was too symmetrical while in real life houses generally are symmetrical (mine certainly is) it somehow didn't look right with the house I was building. so I tore down the parts I had already build and restarted...again, and ended up with this. I also added some plants and a small mausoleum of the back, which has a basement with several coffins

LadyofNemesis The house looks amazing! It was pretty before but it feels a lot more spookier now, but still kinda fits into the area around it. If you're still adding to it / open to suggestion I'd think a fountain would look lovely in one of the open areas --- Yakuza 4 Finished the Legend run today. Had a pretty decent write up about it and ended up accidentally deleting it. So that's a bummer. So in short terms. Kiryu's final battle was such a pain I think I may have suppressed the memory of it from the first run. His substories were really fun on the other hand. The gang fights were maybe not super exciting but a nice break from the regular thugs. The big final battle went surprisingly well. Only needed one try, and I thank Nair's parry training for that. Because the spear was pretty useless. But extending the parry time so I could actually use it was such a boon. Since it made the grab fest pretty much non existent. And the Fire arm reversal was handy in smacking the boss down when he got uppity. Did skip all the cutscenes just in case though, since while it went well I don't want to do it again. At least not on legend. Maybe someday on normal. Super happy I went through all the substories (except for Amon, go away Amon) because they were pretty interesting and fun. My favorite was the spicy hero and the kappa. Did load up the Permium adventure for a while. Kinda sad that Haruka has stopped beelining to hold Kiryu's hand, but at least she does it if you wait a bit. Pretty amused that they remained her trust meter to a mood meter. It's currently sitting at D, so someone is still pretty moody. Started up Yakuza 5 and so far so good. Boss man is super likeable, so crossing fingers he's not next up on the chopping block. Still getting used to the combat, but surviving so far.

BG3 One bad thing about this game is the dice rolls. You can spend 10 minutes and more, reloading repeatedly, trying to get the dice to roll your way. It's become such a snorefest trying to kick past the dinky rolls. I can visualise hundreds of players "grinding" through dice rolls. It'll be a joke if dice roll replays outweigh the time taken for combat and dialogues.

BG3 Ugh. Well the patch improves graphics, UI and animations but it adds bugs too. Game crashed when transitioning into next zone. Trying to open the bound book in the ruins does nothing now; you're stuck with character staring at the book even though the dice rolls are successful. All you hear is a *ding*! and nothing happens.

So Thorgrimm went on a "circumnavigation", at least of his island. Tried to check out one nearby island. I was looking for the trader but of course Thorgrimm knows nothing about any trader. Down south it became all swamps and plains. He got into real trouble when he tried out the river as shortcut. One fuling almost destroyed the boat. One deathsquito followed out to sea but as the sails filled with wind I sped away to safety. Thorgrimm stopped to repair the boat in a dark forest. It was close. Really close to break down at the plains. When Thorgrimm was almost back at his Stenstrand base the bag turned up on the minimap! The dwarftrader! All in all a succesful trip! 20210304075438_1 by prmjb, on Flickr

Animal Crossing New Horizons
Well I am not sure I should actually admit to playing this game...but it was with my wife...and also I have...thoughts.
Mainly the fact that it seems like all the games that I have tried to play on it...erm no that's not right either...the two first party ninendo games I have tried to play with her on the Switch has very limited functionality for the second player despite being for same screen 'co op. I really could not do anything...not talk to people...not open either emotion wheel or inventory...pretty much nothing. Some interactivity and collecting of stuff only. I suspect this is Nintendo's 'encouragement' to have you buy another Switch.

And with rumors of new Switch coming up, I wouldn't be surprised if they started to push it even more. On different note, I can't wait for you to stop playing for some time and then - once you return to your game - have villagers point out how long you've been gone
