My wallet is still hating me, but I caved and got myself Monster Hunter Stories 2. Loving it. I just got my little Ratha atched, and gone to the cold region were we met old aquitances from the first game. I'm sure Navirou talking have put us in a bad place, tho (another reason to hate the annoying felyne). Spending too much on stuff to keep my Nargacuga warm, but it's ability to became invisible to not be pointed by all the wild monsters is too useful. I only watched a few minutes of gameplay for this title back then and didn't go back to it. Is Monster Hunter hack n slash monsters with minimum story? As in; hey we got monster ABC in region XYZ, go kill it. Player goes and kills it, returns and gets reward. Upgrade etc. Up comes another NPC; hey, there's monster Gooblygook in region Nooknook, go kill it. Repeat and rinse until player gets a clue or whatever that allows progression to higher zone. Repeat slash and hack until big boss monster that resolves problem or mystery. Monster Hunter Stories is a spin off of the original serie. Is more a pokèmon style game, with turn based gameplay, definitely different from the other monster hunter. More cartoon/anime style, much more story based. You play as a Rider, and not a Hunter, like in the main serie. You tame and fight with monsters against other monsters. It's very story based, and it's probably one of the most "feel good" adventures I've played since Dragon Quest Builders 2. Charming story, charming characters, annoying Mascotte who talk in the place of the silent protagonist. I don't know if the pc have a demo, but the Switch does. You can try that, so you can actually see the differences with the main Monster Hunter games. Edit: on the Switch as of now, there are two MH games: Monster Hunter: Rise, the classic hack&slash repetitive hunting monster game, and Monster Hunter Stories 2: wings of ruins, the jrpg monster tamer adventure. I've remembered now that both have a dowloadable demo

Shot some wolves, then capped some human skulls ambushing the O'Douchebag's camp in RDR2.
These early weapons feel like shit, and their reload is weird. Probably about to do something else in some other game out there, because I am not really impressed positively by the prologue of this game.

Been playing bunch of My Time at Portia. Partly because I've never actually finished the main quest so that would be fun. And also maybe partly because I might maybe be avoiding the final confrontation with Jacob in Far Cry 5. It's a possibility.
But Portia. Abigail the builder has made it into the first day of winter, wheras I've previously only made it to the first week of summer. So that's fantastic. Main quest wise she's also the furthest I've gotten, but looking at the main quest list I'm like not even half way through the plot. So that's quite the mood.
Also finally got a horse and man should I have done that sooner. Also got a chicken and a duck, who are cute, but not getting that much use out of them. Now just need to try out the shed for sheep and cows I guess.
Alas the run is kinda dying out, since I made the mistake of checking out some other saves I got going/fiddling with the character creator and now the itch for something new is killing my groove with Abigail. So basically I'll probably never finish the main quest.
Thus decided to finally go back to Far Cry 5 and make some progress. At least managed to put down the dilemma on how I want to proceed, since I looked up if the eulogies change in the order you do them and it doesn't seem like it, so just need to make sure I deal with Jacob first/second. Also realized that the mini grenade launcher is also a featured weapon, so I could just buy it and not hide behind not having it. So that's a mood, both bad because it was a nice excuse but also good because I missed that little boom stick.
Liberated two outposts, did a quest I didn't do in the first run and had way to many instances of being harassed by planes and helicopters during my rock climbing. Rude. Also caught a bull trout, which was sweet. And managed to run over one horned creature for a side quest. Had to bash him 5 times with the quad bike, which felt kinda excessive. And need to do three more, so going to have to get a sturdier car or something.
And now Jacob's creep meter is filled up and he's threatening to play "Only you" for me. But jokes on him. I love that song. Just not when it's played through six boomboxes riling up the local doggies and cultists. So wish me luck?

Didn't play any game. I just watched a flight simulator; Microsoft Flight Simulator. Player was flying a Singapore Airlines 700-200ER out of Amsterdam to Singapore. The plane has the right livery, even onboard announcements. Meanwhile, ATC is busy managing inbound and outbound. I watched in amusement as he ordered catering, baggage load, jetway engage while preparing for flight. Once everything was done, pushback. I learned that all that stuff isn't in the game, has to be downloaded separately. He was taxi to the taxiway. Pretty long wait there. Did that KLM flight landed at runway 24 as the other KLM??!!! Luckily it didn't, the second KLM pull up. Ooops, game, did you sneeze? I saw a flight with an unusual name; IEatPanda######. Then Eightsacrab######. I was ??? before it dawned on me there were other players. It's online? He didn't fly the hours required though and skipped to approaching destination. Realistic simulation.

Some of the locations d oremind me of the first time I played DAI and when that game took my breath away. As the way HZD looks it does the same thing. It was definitely one of the best games I had played in a while when I first played it. Given it's not too hard and I can play i teven wit hm ydisability withou tcheats I'm grateful for it.

Ended up picking up Abigail's save again. Seems like a theme when I think that save is dying. Got some more chickens and ducks, built some busses, did some mining, chill times. Far Cry 5, dealt with Jacob and it went better than expected. His finale is split into three sections and managed to do them all in the first go, unlike last time where I suffered for quite some while. Had some time to spare in the first section so admired the area a little, before punching the final target instead of shooting him like the game wants you. And it was the tiniest of taps, so the whole dramatic scene afterwards got a little bit amusing. But it's fine it was gut wrenching enough the first time. Then as a callback to an earlier mission blasted "Get Free" by the Vines during the next session, instead of listening to "Only you" and Jacob telling me I wasn't a hero and should go jump off a cliff. Rude. Not wrong, but rude. Was really happy as well since not only did it just take one try, but that try fit the songs lenght perfectly. Third section was the only one which went a bit worse than in my first run, since I couldn't sneak up on Jacob this time and ended up just offing him with random pistol shooting. It was...interesting. Then wrapped up the bunker, brutally ran over some wild life (you would think a moose would survive more hits than a deer, but it went down in one hit whereas the freaking deer took 5 hits, stood up and ran away) , blew up a building and stopped some cultists from voting. So good times. Now just debating whether to clear out Faiths region first because it's more tedious, or just go straight to John because his section made me suffer the last time and I don't need it getting any harder, wheras Faith's stuff was not that bad. Also John region has John. Decisions decisions.

Now that my videocard rma issues are all sorted I've been able to get back into some games.
Picked up Plague Tale innocence on sale and really enjoyed it. Nice little stealth game, gets a bit away in the last few acts but overall enjoyed it.
And finally getting back into Valhalla. Enjoying it so far. Though pc still has the wonky textures that pop in like crazy but in other areas it does seem like performance has been improved.

Ok, this was what I was watching the other day. Not this particular PT, another one but I found this on YT. This is hilarious. I don't know if this is a private or public server. I'm thinking private. Btw, when he said rotating, it means aircraft taking off. Depending on the size of the aircraft, the average acceleration for take off is 140 knots. Once that is reached, the monitoring pilot will say; V1. Then "rotate" which means take off now, you're good.

SWTOR
Advanced my jedi knight story. She has met and recruited Lord Scourge, after he helped her escape, and is now on Belsavis.
My sith sorceress has just dealt with her ghosts on Voss (and for extra fun - take Talos Drelik with you, he is so enthusiastic about the whole ritual and stuff).
And I made my very first Nautolan. Bought the race with cartel coins, I still had. My Nautolan lady is a soldier. I only played that story once, since it is my least favorite. But the companions are decent, so I thought, I'll give it another try.

Because of the heat I don't have strength for much gaming, so it's mostly Genshin Impact. New area - Inazuma - was added with 2.0 update and I'm exploring it carefully. Not too fond of the main story of this area so far, but it sure has some pretty places.

My Time at Portia Abigail has been for a year in Portia now. She managed to get the top spot in the builder ranking for the year, due to some meta gaming mostly. But same metagaming kept the run from dying at the beginning like most other tries...so. Dr Xu has nabbed the boyfriend status, by being the only one to show clear initiative in the matter and by being just too freaking adorable. Waiting at the ruin entrance because he was worried, setting up a nice date and his little "I can't wait until we have dinner together next". Super cute stuff. Spoilers are pics this time, to put face to Abigail's name. Abigail and Dr Xu, Papa Bear in the back and Toby having a mood by the tree. Far Cry 5 Decided to do most of Faith's region before hitting John's part. Going to have her finale last though because the threat of being punished is more fun than hearing about Joseph putting his faith in people. Nasty. So Rook had their first kidnapping by Faith today. Which involves being taken to a big statue and having to jump off it. Which is cool. So to return the favor (and because it was close) Rook went back to the statue and blew it up and got Josephs best dad threat "I'm not angry, just disappointed". Also got the best dumb death while blowing up the statue. So got a rocket launcher, shot it at the statue and debris started falling. So just stood there admiring that big boulder on the screen (even took a screenshot) before realizing "Aww shit" but it was too late and Rook went squish. Then did some shenanigans for a while. Recruited Sharky, liberated some outposts, waged war against drugs. Casual stuff. Also did the Guy Marvel quests this time. Those were amusing. And found a note complaining about the Bliss turning the frogs gay. Then after the third resistance point of four we went to visit John. This time made a bee line to Fall's End and got a new cutscene for my problems. Last time they just liberated themselves. Then saved Merle and Boomer the dog, killed some cultist and liberated two outposts then John finally put his foot in the ground. Actually had fun with his capture party this time around. Spent ages hiding and snickering in the grass while sending Sharky and Jess to murder those who escaped my explosives. Then there was a big break between the waves so foolishly left the grass, got spotted and shot with a bliss bullet. Except someone was feeling peeved and shot Rook with a normal one, since she actually died from her wounds. Ooops. Respawned me at the outpost and had round two with the capture party. Except managed to escape into a seaplane and more snickering commenced as Rook flew away. Ended up flying to the big old YES sign in the mountains and proceeded to do some vandalism, except I ran out of explosives so the top half of the Y is still standing. Then wandered around a bit hoping one of the hunters would spawn to sell me bullets, but instead the capture party spawned and forcibly inserted some bliss bullets. But thankfully there were some normal ones and got baptized by John. I loved his facial expression the first time and adore them even more this time. Because they just scream Joseph wtf are you thinking. And the threats feel more personal now. Was also thrilled to realize I get my weapons back. Last time I just had scrounged weapons, so just thought you got handed some random rifle, but now I got custom babies I'm thrilled to get back. Doubled with knowing what the heck is going on (first time was amazing though in a lost/scared sense) things went super smooth this round. So that's nice. Spoiler this round are also screenies. Faith be judging me something fierce. Stupid death. Jess Black died on a ladder and there was no way to revive her. Sorry boo. Can't help yah. Rook and a bunny. Photo mode is lovely but you can't zoom in properly on your character since they just vanish if you get too close :C And in game she's just hands, holding guns, rods or fish. So here she is, pretending to be nice and not planning to murder the poor bunny.

Stomping the Underdark in Baldur's Gate 2. I am the point where each fight is "30 seconds of buffing before an encounter, 10 seconds of fighting". Almost my entire setup is focused around making my pure Fighter (dual wielding flails) a walking juggernaut of destruction, immune to just about everything.
The other group members are almost only cheerleaders, outside their buffing duty. They are no slouches in a fight, but they rarely have to lift a finger. I have Jaheira (cleric crap), Imoen (thief crap/useless summon crap for no real reason), Aerie (buff crap), Neera (debuff crap/secondary buff crap). And Mazzy - because I never take her with me and thought "why not". She is also there to just mostly watch my awesomeness. Hmm, I did end up with an all female team for my male protagonist. Wasn't on purpose!
Mind Flayers? Please. Beholders? Pfffft. Liches? Ok, they still kinda hurt until my mage team can nuke all their layers of magic protections. Dragons? Ok, ok, they still require an effort. But regular grunts? Yeah, I don't even notice them anymore.
But if I end up in a fight without a dozen buffs on me... First, every bloody thing in the Underdark throws an AOE stun, Horror or Charm. My Fighter becomes an absolute puppet and usually ends up slaughtering his own team. And how come he is so easy to Charm for the enemy, but my own mages always fail at using their own Charm on him, grrrr. Second, almost every magic enemy seems to be immune to almost all kinds of crowd control. So when a situation goes south in the first second, there usually isn't much to do to save it. So yeah, Mazzy leads in front, takes the brunt of all the bad luck encounters and dies horribly while the rest of the group frantically buffs up thanks to her sacrifice

GW2 "Return to" Flashpoint completed. Draconis Mon might be a pretty map, but it is annoying in term of traversal and finding things. I even cleared 2 old achievements from when the content released on top of the new ones...and I wasn't even trying for the first one. The second was the dive location, succeed on the first try with a nice tip from chat. Anet also released their "first look" for the next expansion yesterday. They showed a new elite spec for the Mesmer: the Virtuoso...who really like daggers. A mix of bard and assassin. Purple assassin. With butterflies. I can't play Mesmer, never managed to get one to 80, but I love their theme. And I think the Virtuoso might be up my alley. Maybe? So I went and made a little Asura mesmer to try out clothing and stuff. I wasn't the only one, we were 3 mesmers Asura in the tutorial area. They teaser another elite spec: Pistol Necromancer. That doesn't look as fun and someone I suspect Virtuoso is going to be more awesome. I mean, max range AOE attacks. AOEs everywhere. Oh yeah, perfect for solo PVE content and story stuff. The defense side looks trash thought...that might be an issue.

My Nautolan soldier is on Coruscant, tracking down the defected Havoc Squad members. She takes it very personally - and so does her first squadmate Aric Jorgan.
Here is a pic of her - the Havoc Squad colors don't really fit well with her purple skin

I finished my second solo PT of Wasteland 3 . This game has so much replay value! It's like the top down version of New Vegas. This time I decided to go full Patriarch support which of course leads to a pretty bad ending for Colorado. But Arizona got the promised support and all the companions are fine anyway.
Some of the decisions have led to a couple of different sidequests we didn't get before. So that was cool. There are quite a number of ways to approach and resolve situations with the factions. I managed to secure oil without killing the machine commune. In hindsight I should have just gone full fascist and killed all the robots since I was doing the synth hunter quest anyway this time. And one of them was hiding at the commune. Can't say not killing them had any impact...
You can do a number of pretty evil things and support the bad guys in the end. Like the CRAZX bad guys. You can even have the psychopath son join your party. LOL. I didn't do that though. I went Patriarch bootlicker. Which is the slightly less evil path... I doubt I'll do the full evil ending though. Two PTs are enough for me, I think.
On Tourists mode the second PT took maybe 20 hours. That's a nice length for replaying a good RPG. I could have cut it down further by ignoring more sidequests but ended up doing most of them anyway to get faction points.
Really awesome game. I didn't think I'd enjoy it that much. Never played the previous game. I was told not to play it because the third one is so much better, the jump in quality supposedly even greater than Witcher 2 to 3. OK, wow. Guess I'll put it off until I'm out of other games to play. Got it for free on GOG though.
Yesterday I started playing The Council , a kind of Sherlock Holmes game with historic figures like George Washington and Napoleon, lol. Having a good time. So far the dialogue "skills" required to get somebody's trust are easy common sense choices. There are a ton of talents and abilities to aquire. I guess it's a game you can play a dozen different ways and get different information. You're always asked to make a choice between which character to help out missing out on what the other person might have told you. Digging it. The graphics are super creepy uncanny valley character animations. But I can see past that. Voice acting is good. Gonna play some more later on.

Literally played car mechanic simulator...
aka Far Cry 2. Even with the mods it seems game chooses to send the enemies after the player most of the time. Mod dropped it to 1/4 but still. Otherwise the game is well, Far Cry - early one, still plays okayish. Now Max Payne 1...

Playing some Witcher Monster Slayer which involved some traversal of forest undergrowth and making passing cyclists look at me funny. Gotta love AR games.

Of course right after stating that The Council is easy I botched the Napoleon conservation because my history knowledge is fading... Embarrassing moment.
And the puzzles got more challenging too. Took me way too long to get the Bible puzzle done, ugh.
I'm not sure exactly how the checkpoint system works. Something very confusing happened. I think I got a Game Over screen last night out of the blue when my choices led to Louis getting framed for murder! Oops! I ended up on a chapter overview screen. I thought, OK, you can fail the game. That's cool. Just gotta pick up where I left off. I had forgotten what chapter I had been playing so I picked the lastest checkpoint I could pick and ended up with stuff out fo context. I went back to the main menu. Then I picked what seemed like the last step I did. I was expecting to just replay the chapter. Only now the game continued with the murder and I could convince people of Louis' innocence. What the hell???
I'm so confused... On the chapter overview certain steps were white and others grayed out and I have no friggin clue what's going on here. LOL.
In any case, I continued and I'm not sure if I'm almost done already?? Internet says the game is 14-18h long. But I've been playing maybe 5?
If somebody here has played this game, please let me know what's going on, lol! I've never played a game where I don't understand the savegame system. Oh man.
EDIT: Wait, now I get it! The supposed Game Over screen was actually just the end of the first chapter? Omfg... I got the same screen again after completing the second chapter (of 5). What threw me off is that you can start the last chapter. I don't understand why it's unlocked. All the stepson between aren't. Oh well. I'm dumb. Everything is fine!
