CK3 I started two custom PTs. One was in Ireland. Laws are gender equal, inheritance equal, despite the religion being catholic. I'll call him Jon. I was planning to have Jon play around but then he met one of his knights. He befriended her, romanced her then seduced her. I decided to have him marry there and then since he wasn't married. He was certainly happy about it since he could now bed her legally. Their first child was a girl (I'll call her Julie) who became the heir, then came a boy. The boy automatically became the heir. I thought; nope, Julie's the eldest, she should inherit. There're a couple of ways about this. I decided to go with absolute crown authority which would take quite some time to achieve. Well hopefully, Jon would live long enough. As the years passed, when Julie was ten years old, Jon heard some rumours that his wife had played around and Julie wasn't his kid. So he could either believe the rumours or trust his wife. I decided not to look at Julie's stats. If she wasn't Jon's kid, it'll be stated. I went with Jon believed his wife wasn't playing around before he married her. Jon lived long enough to ensure Julie became the heir before he passed. However, some of his vassals believed the rumours and there were a couple of movements to dethrone Julie. Second custom PT. I chose Brittany to start and made a guy I called Pete. Same laws as above, religion is catholic. He married a nice girl. The eldest child was a girl, the second, a son, the third, another girl. I ensured the kids have good tutors. By the by, the eldest reached 16. Marriageable age. I decided to wait till she's 20. She married and became pregnant. Then Pete's son-in-law stormed into his chambers and declared the child his wife was carrying wasn't his. What?!! She gained the trait adulterer. Girl, what were you doing??? 🤣 Who's the daddy??? Turned out to be a good friend of Pete's, in his 40s. You traitor! I sent him to prison. She gave birth to a son and Pete chose to legitimize the bastard grandson. The eldest daughter set a bad example because her younger sister followed suit after she turned 16. But she wasn't married so she gained the trait fornicator. Who's the daddy? It was a greedy sod of a courtier in Pete's court, age 45. Pete dismissed him from his court and sent him wandering. Again, Pete married off the daughter once the child was born, a boy. He legitimized the boy and later, promised him to the clergy. The boy was willing so there wasn't any fight about it. However, when Pete tried to get the eldest bastard grandson to follow suit, the boy wasn't having any of it. He was meant for great things, he declared. Well no, boy. Pete forced him to become a knight so that some day, some battle would see him dead. Although the bastard eldest grandson was the first born, once Pete died, his mom chose his sister to become heir. Pete kept watch on his third and youngest daughter when she reached 16. Thankfully, she didn't follow her elder sisters and Pete found a nice guy for her to marry when she turned 20. 😄

So a successful day in Ghost Recon yesterday, much achieved and after a crashed landing of a plane early had a successful one later on. In GR the Drone is your eyes much like the Eagle/Raven in AC games except it has the added bonus of Synchronize tagging 3 enemies. The squad will move to an appropriate position and when they all have line of sight you can then just press and hold "Q" and they'll shoot all three or you can shoot a fourth guy and they will take that as a command to shoot the other three. Done taking into account where other guards are so they don't see and watching their paths to make sure they don't see the bodies you can wipe out large forts etc. without being detected and avoid conflict totally, This is a good thing because enemies can call for back up and some of them are never ending, that is also why taking out signal towers and generators is important. Why am I telling you this? I was doing a mission and the first part I blew up a gold mine and you have yo beat a timer to get out, I beat the timer the squad, all of them got trapped and didn't respawn and the damn Drone would not spawn when asked. So I thought no worries just do this slowly crawling around and use the binoculars and scope to mark enemies and do it all stealth mode. EXCEPT my Binoculars would not work either, so that just left the scope and the heat map that shows where enemies are but not how many or exactly where they are. I didn't want to abandon the mission and start again so I persevered and took all of the approximately 20 to 25 enemies out without once getting into a fire fight. Collected all the info. and supplies, weapon parts and a medal and jumped into a supply plane and took off and then crash landed it. Even that didn't dampen my mood. Did lots of other stuff but much the same and opened a few new areas to collect skill points. Unfortunately no pic's for some reason my screenshot key changed in Ubisoft Connect.

Polished off chapter 2 in The Witcher 2. Picked Roche's path this time around because I'm tired of feeling awkward when Geralt comes to him begging for help in Wild Hunt after running off with the elf terrorist, and because I like that he gets to know Sile and Radovid a bit better, and gets to play with the other Viper witchers(Auckles and something or other) since they're kind of integral to the plot and Iorveth's path feels a bit like he just dumps that whole plotline to play rebel instead.
Actually forgot that it would also come at the cost of meeting Philippa properly though, and that chafes a bit. Not because I like her, of course, but because it feels like Geralt won't understand just how hateworthy she truly is by Wild Hunt if he goes with Roche.
Relying on Signs in TW2 turns out to be a lot of fun in the early game on Dark difficulty, when it's all about using all the different Signs strategically and using the sword for raw damage and finishing opponents. But when you progress enough and start piling on the Sign Damage/Intensity and upgrade Igni to an AOE it starts becoming a waste of Vigor bars to use anything else, which is a shame. Hoping Wild Hunt handles it better overall. Always liked that Igni has much more tactical uses in that one.

Remember, kids, PC is a dead platform. Which is exactly why we're getting Halo (Xbox exclusive until somewhat recently) and many PlayStation exclusives.
I might have to look into God of War later. It was nice to watch on YouTube back when it first released - perhaps it will be even better when played. Watched a vid earlier about a Sony fanboy saying that GOW performs better on PS than on PC idiotic if you ask me. Everyone knows it's down to what hardware you hav in your system. I haven't got the game as it doesn't interest me only upcoming one tha that is tempting me is the Uncharted one that's supposedly coming soon as I am tempted by that. TBH Uncharted and Forspoken aer the only games in th short term that are on my radar atm.
Honestly, it depends on how well they optimized the game for PC, but unless they screwed up really badly... PS5 (five!) has a "custom" Zen 2 processor. Zen 2 is the generation on which the 3000 series Ryzens are built on, and it released two weeks apart from the 5800X series Ryzen 7's, which are built on a superior architecture. Not to mention the fact that according to my research, the PS5's processing unit could be equivalent to anything between a Ryzen 3 to a Ryzen 7.
PC will always have greater potential performance than consoles - or, at least, for the foreseeable future. Performance is NOT one of the advantages of a console, that would be accessibility and price. You can get a PS5 for about the third of a price of a high-end (R7 5800, RTX3070) gaming computer. And the GPU on the PS5... I don't know, I don't think it can match a 3070 in performance, but it will not be a slouch, either.

Madden 22
Another game with a fairly well executed gameplan for my part and kind of a nice dove tail from the Cardinals game.
Finally gave Godwin a bit of a 'rest.' He only had 4 catches for 57 yards even with the 2 TDs. But from there well I wanted to get people more involved.. and I did. Gronk had 8 catches for 150 yards...no scores though...and well a fumble. Evans had 8 catches for 118 yards and 2 TDs. Cooks had 5 catches for 105 yards and a TD. Brate had an eighteen yard TD catch. Fornette ran for a TD and had like 120 ish yards on 28 carries. And White I think had 6 catches for 38 yards.
Big plays of the day. For shits and giggles I ran the smae play from the other day with Cooks but once again the intention was to go to Evans to get out of bounds and stop the clock within two minutes. Well he was covered, checked deep, Cooks was open, fired it. This time it ended up being a TD and I think Brady had better pocket presence which may have led to a better throw. Then of course Godwin came down with another toe tapper on a bit of a scramble drill. Then White, it was about 4th and eleven, still being aggressive but tossed it short to White and well it looked like he was passed the line but a defender knocked him back across and he rebounded, bounced around, circled, and then was able to squeeze through for a conversion. Then Gronk another forth down, this time I fired to him and guess I got a little greedy and for some reason wanted Gronk to get tackled...well her fumbled the ball and turned it over. It was obvious.
Fary Cry 6
Didn't get much done but for Chorizo...well needed to get him Croc meet...went hunting for them...they found me in the end. Had to beat two of them off with my bare hands. Heh, I just realized this game does not do the animal attacks like four. Also I am rather fond of how this game handles some of its intelligence collections. Discovered you can get info for new quests from the random passer byes, hopes DA does something like that.

I'd imasgine the series Xand PS 5use something similar t owhat I have in m ysystem as I use an RTX 2070 so I assume it's probabl ysomething like a 2070/2080. Obviousl yno tcalled that but something similar But yeah it depends on your optimisation asnd specs of you rmachine but I d ofind in general games tha tI've bought on console and PC ctha tthe PC versoins definitely outperform the console ones

SWTOR
I dusted off my baby trooper, FIrna Noryl - she was stuck on Taris for nearly half a year. So today, she finished Taris, stopped Needles (and his sick experiments) and recruited Elara Dorne. Now she is on Nar Shaddaa to stop a rampaging droid - it seems, that Tavus, the deflected former commander of Havoc Squad, is behind it.
Firna is working with a SIS agent on that.

I got the aid for Bruma and then put the main quest on hold for a while. I haven't joined any guilds yet. I'm level 22 and just became a Knight Errant. So me and Mazoga, we're pals right. i.imgur.com/URu1l44.png i.imgur.com/4OSa5AN.pngMy armorer skill is coming along a lot faster now I have the thornblade, to wreck opponents armor. It takes 20 levels before money gets a bit easier to come by.

Rune Factory 4. So decided to move on with the plot at long last. Gave my fav some pancakes and a potatoes before their big nap and have been offering potatoes to their sleeping form out of respect. And have too many potatoes but let's ignore that.
Finally got Porcoline to pipe up during the dungeons. There is a section where your character runs to a cliff, then yeets themselves off it. As you do. And it seems like every companion (humanoid that is not testing with the monsters) will pipe up at that section, calling out the characters name. First with mild concern, then with much concern. It's kinda neat. Forte and Vishnal had some extra unique dialog at the bottom. The others took it with stride.
Also found a very big flaw in my testing. Since it seems some characters dialogs override the others. So for proper testing I should've been just dragging one of them through the dungeons at a time. Add to the fact that there are appearing more dialog choices, the current boss has 4 sections which you can pick between two options and the npc might comment on just one or both. Thankfully I'm pretty sure the combo does not matter. But that's two fights with the boss and I currently have 18 npcs I can take with me. So 36 fights with a fairly long dialog section, in which I might just be sitting through mandatory dialog because they don't have any comment on current events. Which is a no thanks for me.
Figure I'll still be doing my less detailed testing, because I do enjoy the bits and pieces I see. And crossing fingers that the more unique stuff doesn't override each other. Like how Margaret and Forte both panic the same in the manor when they are together or separate. But the realization was a mood.
But in better news, finally getting access to honey. So I can bulk up on pancakes and hope that will entice my fav to wake up sooner. Also more crafting should be opening up since I'm getting a bunch of new material from monsters. Also got access to a healing spell, finally. No more eating dirt on the ground for my companions.
So all in all had a grand time.

But in better news, finally getting access to honey. Well don't be afraid to stockpile it. I only found out recently that honey is the only foodstuff that never goes off. 3000 plus year old honey found in the tomb of Tutankhamun was apparently still edible. Though I'm not sure who they got to test that.

AC Valhalla Continued with the River Raids. Landed the first two of Vaugh's armour. Increasing the capacity of the longship meant I could raid longer. I've also transmog Eivor's armour to the Raven Clan armour since it doesn't make Eibor bulky. I'm still no fan of the silly cloaks. Cloaks are cloaks, they do not have odd pauldron parts and pieces of supposed armour sewn on them. The weird thing is, I remember upgrading this set of armour to gold back in 2020 in the first PT. Now, for some reason, it went back to its default state.

Then realized you were talking about real life. So pocket milk is still good. But that's a neat fact. Figure the storing methods also helped quite a bit. As for testing, I'd probably give it a go if it passed the smell and look test. Slap that sucker on toast and watch the mummy apocalypse as thousand of outraged mummies and honey connoisseurs would swarm the area. But figure it was more of a sciency method to figuring it out.

Pathfinder: Kingmaker:
As expected, found a place where I died a bunch. Specifically, the Temple of the Elk. The toughest enemy there is only really vulnerable to arcane spellcasting, and I didn't have a proper caster yet. Thanks to Grease spells from Linzi the bard, I was able to drop the thing eventually. (It would have been much easier if Owlcat hadn't patched the bug that used to let Hideous Laughter affect anything.)
Of course, I could have had an arcane caster, except I was doing the Temple before the Technic League Encampment. Sometimes I get the feeling that this game is balanced around metagaming.
So, Octavia's on board now. A bisexual Imoen expy whom the PC can bang? Probably the most inevitable character in the history of CRPGs.
Obviously a character who starts R1/W1 is supposed to go Arcane Trickster. Thanks to the Accomplished Sneak Attacker feat you only ever need R1, and most people seem to go full caster with her. But taking R2 at some point, which comes with a bonus combat feat and Evasion, seems really compelling to me, particularly for a character with 8 CON(?!?)). Are there just not very many AoE attacks in this game?

Finally won my first Civ VI game after restarting several times. Won with China on Prince difficulty, tiny map, inland sea. 2 enemies randomly set to Rome and Norway. Rome started on my doorstep, but we made decent neighbours. Poor Norway were the Viking terrors of the small inland sea that no one had cities around. All my cities for quite a while never even got close to the ocean. I’d laugh when a unit moved by a coastal tile and would see two or three longboats waiting for something to do. They were however, on the other side of the map completely alone beyond a couple city-states. They still did terribly and sunk their chances with two poor strategies for that map. Their navy, and religion. We were too spread apart for their missionaries to do much damage. If Norway had been a more expansion-oriented nation things might’ve gone quite differently. Rome did great and was beating me in culture for quite a while. At one point they had five legions, a unit of archers, and two Great Generals camped on the border of my capital, but they wouldn’t commit. My overall strength was higher most of the time. I allied with them instead, they marched home and tried to pick a fight with Norway. I got there first and rolled Norway with tanks while they came at me with berserkers and knights. I considered leaving one city behind to keep Rome occupied but I wanted to see how the AI would behave. Sure enough our alliance ends and shortly after Rome denounces me as a warmonger which, ironically, is the first step in them starting a war with me. The problem is there’s warmongering penalties in this game, so if either of us go to war with the other, our people will be pissed about it. Which I personally think is a great mechanic that’s done reasonably well. We were allies and trade partners for a couple thousand years. The mechanic does need some tweaking and balancing though. Regardless, I could’ve rolled Rome (who I’ll say again, is on my doorstep) and won the game via Domination a 150 turns earlier but I went for the Science victory. Rome never did attack me and didn’t even seem to position troops on my border at the end. They were occupied with barbarians well into the late game but I figured my advancing through Victory conditions would start a war. The barbarians are a bit harsh in the game. They seem to advance eras when you do, and going for a science victory meant they advanced fast. Science caps out, but goes towards a Score victory once you research the last repeatable tech. Weirdly, you need a shit-tonne of industry to complete your Science victory. It involves the space race and then colonizing Mars. I was just a bit irked that all my science was basically going to waste at the end for quite a while. Luckily I recruited Carl Sagan and he knocked about 10 turns off the final launch as his special ability.

So played a fair bit of Ghost Recon Wildlands yesterday but didn't push the story much, focused on going back to earlier areas and cleaning up collectibles and resources to get them to 100% complete and pushing into other areas to grab skill points, medals and resources. Day started badly, went to a big Unidad base where if you make a mistake and get detected it turns into insanity with enemies continually arriving and up to 4 helicopters at a time being in the sky. Anyway I got inside the base but had to kill a few guards and sure enough someone found a body. So it turned into a complete pile on by Unidad but I impressed myself stayed focused and got the files, Intel, a medal and some gun parts all the while racing around shooting enemies and staying in cover from the helicopters or also shooting them down. I called in Mortar support, Rebel troops and used Frag Grenades galore as I went on my rampage. Died once and was revived by a squad mate. The tally I reckon was that I killed well over 30 Unidad troops, shot down at least 6 helicopters, blew up SAM Missile Launchers, Alarms and Generators and then stole a helicopter from a hangar (no mean feat) and flew out unscathed. Unicephalon 40-D it felt a lot like MEA MP. Anyway after that the day went more to script with a lot of good stealth stuff and picking the right moments after doing stealth stuff to go Rambo on clusters of enemies in buildings. Precision chopper landing on a tiny ledge on a cliff Always feel bad killing guys sleeping in games. First Physic's glitch I have had in the game Scenery ah yes...her. Seriously I feel so bad that I have entirely forgotten all these people's names. Borderlands 2Well kind of went on auto pilot and kind of let my wife lead. Was sort of wanting to go on and do something else but it also occured to me, as she told me, that this quest line gets blocked off so she wanted to do it and I did to. And I must say that Lilith actually makes for a even keeled, if funny, goddess. Of course seems the whole 'start worshipping' the Vault Hunter never went anywhere. I must say trying to find the right balance of weapons has a lot of real practice to it. Also hardly worth the time when it sometimes seems that you get a new one before getting used to the old one. But so far starting to gravitate Marwilin weapons. Sniper rifles go arrrggghhhh!*sizzle sizzle*. Far Cry 6 It was the best of times it was the most frustrating times. I swear I think this games issues comes down to two things. 1. You are a make shift guerilla against an actual army. Sounds fun and they balance the scales a little but when you are a single person going up against a tank....and two....well RPG style health bars where it can take a few shots to bring people down with anything other then head shots. Given the lack of good optics and real stealth...can make things hard...especially when you couple that with this game's typical FC every rock a pitched battle thing. So naturally though I had the best base take down of the game so far. Actually it was a situation where my game situation was sandwiched between two fairly good base take downs with a lot of BS in between...but then I should not be mentioning that because of some of the BS. So first base was almost pitch perfect. Was able to get to high ground within the base easily enough and was able to snipe with my silenced weapon and well was able to sneak back and then pick people off as they came up. Base 2 though started fine the first attempt but then for some weird reason helicopter reinforcementss just parachueted in...I was holding my own quite awhile but got surrounded. Then attempt 2 I completed the primary objective easily enough but then a whole lot of forces showed up and I had to go duck in and out of sewer ducts to get my health up before popping up. Chorizo went down and since I didn't feel like recharging him and wanted the cover I was like 'hold on buddy!' but then a friggin TANK of all things showed up right over his mangled body and I was like 'no sorry you're on your own!' Eventually I disentangled myself from the fight but I realized that the AA gun was left behind so wanted to go back since those could be vital...and well my supremo did not kill it off so had to take cover with enemies closing in...well the plan was that I would kill them and get the supremo up (also so far this game has a real lack of explosives) so yeah, but when I was discovered they chucked a grenade at me...I had to bolt but it blew up the AA gun! Base 3 was the most frustrating. First discovered that vehicles can run you over. Second any time you would engage a area a tank was just roll up out of literal nowhere to ruin your day. Was like on attempt 5 and of course wife took it like a champ. Base 4 was back to fairly easy. First attempt though I went for a construction arm and that ended up being too exposed and well I feel off the thing. Second attempt though i was busy sneaking and picking people off, trying to get to a helicopter pad in the back, I was exposed before I hit it so I made a bee line for it under fire and established my high ground. Bonus points since I denied them the use of a helo. Though there was a tank and discovered blowing up the gas can in the back immbobilizes it...but it can still shoot. Took a full tank round and survived, but picked people off...and then discovered the back is weak enough where you can still shoot it to blow up tank. So discoveries. Chorizo's gameplay I was skeptical and well I still am but I must admit while it may not be ideal it seems stealthy and also some thought went into it. I tried it out on the first guard in like the second base and he took off tearing off to the other end of the map and I thought it was a glitch...but he came back the other way like a reciever running a curl route and got the guard to kneel down to chat with him. May lack offensive fire power but I might prefer him over the gator which does not scream stealth too me. Also was messing around with more of the camp features and well seems there is two modes...Special Operations which remind me a lot of Hitman honestly and seems more geered for Multiplayer...raids maybe? Ubisoft you aren't making this game entirely Open World? Color my surprised. But yeah not sure if I wanted to do it now... And then banditos operations which are muti staged war table stuff that you send operatives on. Well, these are in objective stages and each one you can choose how to handle it and get rewards all the way for successes. I like. Blood Ties
So everything is not OK in the Montero household. The little brother apparently is the one who is working with Napaleon and well developping his posion and helping out with the Viviro. He did make something pointed about Espada stabbing him, which I would have shot him in the head if I were Dani and been like 'what? he's not my brother'.

I got Martin to the Temple of the One, became the Champion of Cyrodil, and got a statue in Bruma. Now becoming an apprentice mage doesn't sound so enticing, so I might start again as a Breton. i.imgur.com/5CFleWn.png

AC Valhalla
I've maxed out the longship hold capacity and am now on champions regards River Raids. I really want to experience the Valhalla story again. 😐 Oh well. I don't suppose Valhalla NG+ would pop next year.
There're two more champions to go and I suppose the RR quests will end. The last on the quest list is Challenge of the Gods but I read it's buggy so I'll probably not to do yet.

Still Genshin Impact, regular dose of mobile gaming and a bit of soft-resetting Pokemon Platinum for shiny starter. I also watched YT video called "Death of the game: Maple Story 2", which in turn made me re-install Maple Story. At this point I shouldn't be surprised, I do fall into Maple Story-shaped hole every couple of years ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I now have access to a bow. 10/10 best game ever game of the millenium. Would buy again. *ahem*. My wife also started to play it and seems she is a lot more patient with things and noticing things about the game which has then encouraged me to start exploring and paying more attention to things and continue to dive (deeper) into the game's mechanics and things. Namely this time exploring the black market and gun modifications more and hence getting a recurve bow...and a .308 sniper. Ostensibly it says you get better equipment the more you level up so hopefully I can get better weapons still. Have my eye on a AKM to replace the FAL but getting a bow and a new sniper was of more importance. Also discovered that some of the weapons come with like another level of mods which can give you things like health on hit and stuff. Might be worth looking into. The bow itself seems a little...inaccurate and inconsistent. More experimentation is needed but aim right on target pretty close, arrow goes elsewhere. One arrow did half damage at point blank range so you think holding it down would kill it off again and no... Also I oficially love the bandito operations. They aren't quite how I envisioned improvements to DAIs war table system, I would like more actual story integration instead of it being over there, but there is a lot of promise and if BioWare copies the system verbatum I would be in love. See these operations are actually involved and there is a lot to think about and a lot of legit rewards and risks. Instead of pretty much getting to choose one war table leader and then get some random reward which usually was quite worthless this is a whole process of stuff you need to think about it. 1. Have to chose your leader which has perks which can help you out. Then there is layers of operations each provides you with three operations. 2. Each has a success rate similar to Andromeda's. 2. Each has a success percentage. 3. Each has a reward attached to it that based on what I now know can be quite beneficial depending on what you are trying to do. 4. Each has a risk of loosing your banditos which would probably fail and risk screwing you over if you push it. And 4. Some of them also requires resources to use up so you have to decide if the risk of that is worth it. So far that has not been for me but this is a lot to think about. I love it. Only real story worth sharing is the first story mission I did was at a school which has been converted into a prison. Not quite used to the Ps5 load times I guess so I was out there and well not paying attention and then when I spawned in spotted. MASSIVE fire fight followed. Literally triggered my first special forces hunt, helicopters, and rocket troops showed up. But somehow i tanked it all. Second SonMiguel is giving me mega 'I am pissed about being left behind so I flipped' vibes. I mean hell everyone else at the prison was dead and he was alive, sus sus sus. Also seems to have the hots for Espada if the llooks are any indication. Packing HeatAh Ubisoft you and your penchent for weird names yet funny ones.
Philly wanted me to hijack a military shipment with guns and stuff. But what he was excited about? The Packing Penuts. 'White Gold' he called them.
Packing Heat.
Get it.

God of War
Ever since HZD I am skeptical on overhyped Sony exclusives. Not that HZD was a bad game. It was just good and not quite the masterpiece everyone was gushing about. So I didn't have big expectations on GoW.
After nearly 15 hours I think it's better than HZD. While I think the HZD combat is more appealing due to the robots/weak points/tools, GoW is more entertaining as a whole. The father/son dynamic fills the void while running around and there aren't all those silent stretches that HZD has in between quest givers. Also the game is fairly linear, which helps build up the story at a nice pace and throw more dialogue at appropriate times. And say what you will, but we play Teal'c. Almost the same attitude.
The puzzles are not a boring copy-pasted repeat so far (AC Valhalla, I am looking at you), but I swear it's better to play with M/KB for the axe throwing ones alone. I wasted like 10 minutes trying to hit 3 bells as fast as I could with a controller. Then just grabbed the mouse and bam, done in the first try. And now I play exclusively with M/KB instead.
I only watched a recap of the previous games, but it seems the theme is painting the gods in the worst possible light. Not that it's not true if we recall specific myths. Damn, Odin and Thor are quite the jackasses if you pay attention to the Codex and what some characters say.
The gearing system could use a touch, but it's serviceable and you don't have to look at it too often anyway.
