Decided to try out the free to play version of Dead or Alive 5: Last Round on Steam(where you pay for only the characters you want to play as) and received my first online victory(in incidentally my first match in it) as my DOA main and waifu, Christie. puu.sh/rJulY/c8040b0423.jpgEven got a perfect round on the scrub I fought against here and yeah, as Christie herself says, the dude was awful. I have chosen to not do that anymore, due to problems with thumbs and blood pressure, but I used to play a lot of Tekken, DOA and SoulCalibur. They were basically the only reason I purchased four consoles. I miss it .

I started a new game in Civ V. Got Darius this time. Not my favorite historical figure, I'd preferred Cyrus. Anyway, I've come to an interesting mid-game after some debilitating misfortunes in the early game. I recovered and catched up mainly due to very good neighbors. Now, unfortunately, a nasty aggressor, Harald/Denmark has started to stir the pot. He killed off (conquered) my most important City-state ally and thus plunged me into "happiness" problems and stumped growth. I tried to help, but was unable to get enough military units to the front - I didn't have many - and only managed to lose two of my four units - which now belong to Denmark.
Now I'm struggling to 'martialize' my country, while Denmark has gone on to declare war on one of my friendly neighbors, Korea. Korea is pretty weak, so this will not end well. And so is my Persia and Portugal, but I'm still thinking I should maybe try to get Portugal with me and go to war against Denmark? We should maybe try to stop Denmark before it's too late?
It's a risk, since I don't have the forces. I'll have to abandon my cities and use the city guard units. But I'm thinking it maybe has to be done.

Well, I lept into the fray. I immediately sent my only four units towards the Korean capital, abandoning my own cities. Portugal refused to join the war, but I figured I'd add my weight to Seul's and see how far it would last. It went good. I lost two of my units but the other two were kinda last men standing after a massacre. So I went on and liberated my former City-state ally too.
Fabulous success. I'm now pretty sure I'm one of the greatest powers, maybe no 1.

Sadly, they all require steam. You can start Portal without having steam open by doing the following: . find the directory where Portal is installed. . create a shortcut to hl2.exe (right click hl2.exe, select create shortcut) . modify the shortcut and append " -game portal" to the target field (not including the quote) et voila, drm free

my head off at the conclusion for Vampire Masquerade Bloodlines. One of them as there're a few endings, for the Malkavian protag. OMG, I never saw that ending before. It's so hilarious. *wipe tears of laughter away* Truly a gem. All the endings are satisfying; whether good or bad. The graphics for this game should be upgraded. It deserves a revamp.

...Civ V... Figured I'd broken the back of that game with Darius, that the rest would just be coasting through the end game to victory, even figured I should quit and start a new one. Then I realized I have never won a game on that difficulty level. So I continued.
And I don't know what the others did, but I was in the lead - I'm sure - but a couple of them moved ahead while I was threading water it seemed. Anyway, still struggling along, but it doesn't look so bad, I can do this.

Started a new empire in Stellaris, after the big update. Its actually pretty fun, but my neighbors on my Galatic arm, are worrying. They are so much bigger then me, and their navy is 'Overwhelming' (as stated in their empire stats) when compared to mine. Both in strength and numbers.
Plus, they war decced me in a past save and just mopped up my empire like it wasn't even there. I reloaded, and just started building up my fleet. I've also started making nice with one of my neighbors. I'm hoping they might join in my fight if I get war decceced again. They don't have much of a navy, but I might be able to delay my enemies by way of hitting their fist with my forehead long enough for my allies to get in on the fight.
Not much of a plan, but it is a plan.
I've also started sending science ships on long range missions throughout the rest of the galaxy, looking for freinds to either colonize near to (in case my primary stars fall), or to get into the fight (if I'm war decced again). Their roles will largely depend on their relative distance to me and the afore mentioned neighbors.

My progress in other games has been seriously screwed by steam. Last weekend Steam decided to uninstall all games I have through it. I am a bit depressed to go through hours of download again.

My progress in other games has been seriously screwed by steam. Last weekend Steam decided to uninstall all games I have through it. I am a bit depressed to go through hours of download again. Thats one of the problems if using digital distribution systems. When they work, they are incredibly convenient. When they don't, they can take over most of your gaming experience. Thats mostly why I've been gravitating towards GOG. You buy it, its yours attitude, and not having the requirement of a mandatory client. I still use galaxy, and I do like it so far. But if I wanted to remove the program tomorrow, I could do it and not loose a dang thing. Edit: Oh and that neighbor just steam rolled right over me. I had 2 fleets, maxed out the fleet cap for number of ships, and they came right in with a fleet double the size and firepower of my entire military. I threw everything I had at them, and it didn't even slow them down. I just walked away from that save before they blew through my remaining defenses and started another one. Surprisingly that second was has been going a bit better. I say a bit because, before I looked at the time and realized I had to go to bed for work, my mutual defense partner waited till I was dealing with a pirate fleet and lost half of my ships, then sent me an ultimatum saying I had to become their vassals or else they'd go to war with me. So I withdrew from that fight, and started building up my navy again. They are ahead of me technologically, but they don't have a bigger fleet this time around! Only real problem now is that I don't have a ftl drive capable of reaching into their space. So until that research is done, all I can do is put out fires. Once that's done though, I can go into their space and take them the frack over. Though I'd only do so, if they decided to attack me first. Man this game is a blast. I only wish they had it on GOG.

Didn't play (I don't have the game anyway) but was watching BF1 and laughing at the gameplay. The streamer wasn't pleased at how any Tom and Jerry could take out an aeroplane easily. AA guns? No problem, they shoot across the map. Sniper? Don't worry, that sniper rifle is OP and is the terror of planes. Simple grunt? Don't worry, the rifle will take down the plane. He made all sorts of amusing intonations to vent his frustration.
So much for aeroplanes being the masters of the sky and the terror of ground forces in the world wars.

Civ 6.
I'm not sure what to think of it so far, it's kind of a chore to play, but I'm only 109 turns in as Japan. I picked Japan for the district bonuses since that is one of the big new features, and the ui makes planning and understanding the districts a hassle. The ui as a whole though is really bad, but I've been using the modded civ 5 ui for years now, so I might be a bit spoiled.
edit: Turn 154: It's getting a little easier to understand now (I still can't figure out how to show district yields in the city screen without mousing over them one at a time), but basically districts are specialists that you can upgrade and spend hammers on to boost (projects). Holding down alt seems to fix the wonky scrolling too. It seems like the best strategy is to go as clustered as possible with your cities and having a zillion 4-7 pop cities spamming districts since Civ 6 does not have a science/culture penalty for city spamming. I still have no idea how to build my religious buildings I have Pagados and my religion is in all my cities and I have holy districts, but I can't figure out how to build them lol. I took Jesuit Eduction too and it isn't letting me buy campus upgrades with it either. The vibrant colors are killing my eyes too. I can't wait for a mod to tone the color down a bit.
I'll probably finish this game up in an hour or two (looks like a science win I'm double the next civ in beakers (Cleopatra)). I wanna try Rome with the roads civ power and make a ton of cities. China looks fun too with the Great Wall improvement and their civ music is always top tier.

TW3, first playthrough Geralt finally found Ciri last night, and the cutscene that followed made the whole journey so worth it. I will battle the Wild Hunt tonight if I can get off this forum and get my work done first. I hope those dwarves get away ok in the boat they stole from Geralt. You know, I used to think my Inquisitors had an over-leveling problem, but they've got nothing on Geralt. I've over-leveled to the point that, on some quests I've done in the last couple of days, I've been awarded only a single XP for completing the quest. I've left so much un-explored in Act 2 and haven't bothered with most of the witcher contracts because I was getting to be over-leveled for the actual main quests there too. How do people avoid completely over-leveling in this game? Harder difficulty levels? Or are you supposed to just pick and choose a few side quests to do?
