Hogwarts Legacy
I did a few sidequests, like helping a goblin to free his mooncalf Biscuit from poachers, finding some letters for Siona, protecting a hamlet from goblins. After that I moved on with the main quest and helped Nattie to find evidence that Rockwood and his poachers are working with Rangnok. On the way we freed the hippogriffs Highwing and Caligo, who are now living in my second Vivarium, save and sound.
After that, the dreaded arachnophobia quest 'The Plight of the House Elf' popped up, the one, where Deek asks you to look after his friend Tobbs, who has a cruel master, that sends him into a spider cave to collect leech juice for potions. That cave is not for the faint at heart, but luckily, I have the anti spider mod installed, they are still there and attack me, but they look like wooden boxes. I can deal with that. I still flailed around very undignified when it came to the acromantula at the end - the knowledge alone, of what I'm fighting here, was enough.
The end of the quest is a bit heartbreaking.
I needed the anti spider mod, because I did want to help Deek, who I consider a friend of my character. He helps you a lot in setting up the Room of Requirements - the least you can do, is look for his old friend. But I'm slightly arachnophobic and the spiders in this game are just plain scary. And since I try to get a working relationship with spiders in real life, I don't want them be the bad guys in every f...ing video game.
After that, I needed some time in the Vivariums with my animals (apart from the 4 puffskeins, 4 mooncalfs and two bird creatures, I have two more puffskeins of a rarer variety, a niffler lady and the two hippogriffs)
Aaah. Acromantula at the end. Of course. I mean, someone already said.
So it's a boss? I can't just fuck off and call it quits? I have to kill the damn thing?
Yup. And that boss spawn more spiders too (I did it today as well). I suggest bringing lots of cabbages.

Perhaps if you come across a skipping spider, you could stop, say hello and observe them for a while. 🙂 Even if it's from far away. Skipping spiders are small but intelligent. I come across one, I'll stop and watch what they're doing. Most of the time, they're roaming / hunting. I love teasing them for a while to get their reactions. 😁 When I was mopping the floor the other day, I didn't notice Skippy and it was caught in the mop. I saw it when the mop swopped in but was too late to stop the action. I jerked the mop a few times to get the spider off. When the spider fell on the floor, it didn't run away. Instead it looked up as though to say; What was that??? What happened? I shoo it away and finish cleaning.

I'm afraid yes, if you wanna finish the quest, you have to kill it. And there is no way back from a certain point on. Use the arachnophobia mod, it works like a charm.

I rather deal with her, than the ones on the screen.

Finished the game! Got Ciri the Empress ending, though it wasn't at all what I was expecting. I appreciated the cameos by Yen, Zoltan, and Dandelion though, and finally getting to try the old bomb the fish tactic. I played the epilogue twice because the first time I got a failed quest because I didn't run after the horse that bucks as soon as you exit the inn.
I figured out my F12 issue (I think it wasn't working because I had disabled the overlay) so went back to Geralt arriving for the final fight so I could snapshot him and Yen planning their future.
Pics!
Plans
Battle End of the world, or not Epilogue
At the inn
With Ciri
I've got the rest of HoS and B&W to do but I think I'll hold off. I just finished my last game's B&W before starting this game so I'm not in a rush to play it again, and I don't like the main quest of HoS all that much to begin with.
It's time for something new!

So, something new is: Stray!
I had my eye on this as soon as it came out but held off buying until it was on sale in December. I lost my kitty to illness a few days after the game was released so I didn't really want to play it then anyway.
I'm about 3 hours in. There is only auto-save, no manual save, but if you hit Escape to the menu it tells you how long it's been since the last checkpoint. I've managed to get temporarily stuck a couple times but managed to figure out how to progress. I miss having a map for reference as the city is pretty much a maze, and it's vertical as well ( dazk you would probably get vertigo from all the jumping and high wire act stuff going on).
I've found the robot companion, B-12, and a slum village of friendly robots. It's weird playing as a cat but the perspective is pretty cool. Got a good look a fuzzy cat butt a couple of times when transitioning to a new area. Also, I find the movement very realistic at least in my experience with cats. They will jump wherever they want to, and if stuff is in their way, well, it just gets moved out of the way, usually to the floor. I've managed to accidentally and intentionally push all kinds of stuff every which way, which in some cases you need to do to find a quest item.
Pics:
Falling to the city below - this kinda reminded me of Shepard falling through the fish tank in Citadel. Meeting B-12

Hogwarts Legacy
I've explored all of the regions. I found that I need to use Revelio as I flew along to show the locations unlike the north, south and west regions.
Doing more of the Merlin trials after gaining the maximum amount no longer give xps.
After completing some quests, the next time Arissa pops into Hogsmead, I see Christmas trees. 😀 She's level 34. Right now, I'm selling all the green, blue and purple outfits and keeping legendaries that are useful. Once a better legendary comes along, I sell the old one. I tend to prevent the scarf from showing because her braided hair clips through it. It clips a bit though the hat too, at the back. It's too bad because it's winter now and wearing a scarf makes sense.
I'm left with finding two more flying keys. I'm not very keen in running all over the castle to locate them.
I think I've also cleared all the bandit and poacher camps. The only ones I'm not bothering much with is the treasure vaults. The loot are all outfits and they're just merchandise, nothing usable for Arissa.
For star gazing. This reminds me of DAI; linking up the starry dots. For HL, it's the same as AC Origins; match the dots to the stars. I've gotten most of them except for two. I can't find the locations for them. They'll either be revealed during story quests or I'm plain missing them because I didn't go over every inch of the south eastern regions. There're still a few small places not revealed.

I'm afraid yes, if you wanna finish the quest, you have to kill it. And there is no way back from a certain point on. Use the arachnophobia mod, it works like a charm.
Oh, that goes without saying.
Maybe I could instead find the one guy because of whom the whole situation happened, and string him up by the unmentionables until he agrees to go into the cave on my behalf?

That would be a neat outcome, especially since that guy seems to be an awful person and deserves to become spider snack.

The Witcher 3
That was a very weird quest. Got to the end of it, Without a Trace, and it lived up to its name. Probably one of those quests otherwise there is a lot of...yeah I just looked it up on Wiki and the feckers are Canibals. I god damn knew it but for some reason I just can't get it through my head how this game operates when you end the conversation is actually a legitimate choice. *throws a small tantrum at how stupid he is for not doing the one thing*. I mean thought it was just so weird just 'return to the herbalist' but would've thought that I would've been able to investigate...guess I had to end the conversation and then start poking around even more. Ugh. Or just alternatively just poke around apparently.
Anyways from there started the quest with the heist and Vimme Vivaldi is quite the character. He is quite charming after his own way but really laying on the money grubbing aspect. He did get quiet when confronted from Brosodi but to his credit he also did get a little...huh...circumspect and guilty looking about it. No hard feelings Vivaldi. Also beat up the thugs who wanted to beat me up. And found it amusing that every time you interrogated the guy on what he wanted to do he was like ...are you in or out?
Tried to look up the White Gull recipe and went back to White Orchard for a bit. And she didn't have it. Which is most...annoying. Anyone know where else I might get one?
Ghost Recon Breakpoint
Basically took out two bases today.
First one was the massive liberty airport. And we did it pretty much all stealth. Wifey took on the opprotunity of overwatch and hit a 350 meter shot...which is about where bullet drop was occuring for her weapon with a sniper rifle. From there though sort of divided and went hunting for some bad guys throughout. She was griping on the synch shot drones.
Then onto the Auroa intranet control. SHe wanted the SNR extended magazine which was indeed here. With this beign her show I insisted on doing overwatch at least to start and started taking pot shots. Eventually though decided to go down and they discovered some of our bodies that we were leaving. Messed up a bit had night vision on and rounded the corner on two guards, thought I had lined up the shot perfectly but the night vision made me lose eyes on my reticle and laser so I wiffed. Surprisingly brief firefight followed.

Hogwarts Legacy Hit level 36. Arissa was 35 previously, made a mistake. 😄 I finished the third trial. There's a fun sequence to do before the trial. 😄 I chose all the disagreeable responses. Being too nice will be out of character. I was expecting the Thrid Trial to be the same as the first two but it's completely different. There're still mobs to kill at the end of course. It's not fighting statues but trolls and the smaller mobs. There're no spiders btw. 😁 I think there're two or three rounds to go through (I didn't keep count, I was busy whacking them up and dodging). The smaller mobs will keep spawning until the trolls are killed. My list of suspicious people has increased. When people keep lamenting the authorities are not doing anything, the inevitable question is; why? Given the number of enemy camps spread all over, the largesse and freedom that they could do so is suspect. The revelation at the Third Trial has thrown up questions. I doubt the power Isadora took, used and stored away is pure. I spent some time looking for the last ancient magic spot and opened up a lot more enemy camps and Merlin trials. ugh, I don't think I want to do them at all. There're too many. I did find the last ancient magic spot and acquired the fourth bar. The key to those spots is that they always appear at ruins. For the starry challenge. The last still eludes me. I'm hoping I'll pick up a quest that will send me to an area and reveal it. The flying key is down to one. Geeez, just one more.

Lavinia did 'In the Shadow of the Study' with Ominis and Sebastian today. I must say, I really like Ominis as a character, he has to be the most developed of them all. Sebastian on the other hand starts to creep me out. He seems to be too possessed with the Dark Arts.
After that Lavinia saved a salesman from goblins and helped a guy getting back a Venomenous Tentacula, his businesspartner has supposedly stolen.
And then she took a tour around Hogwarts with Highwing:
I must say, that I like the idling animations when you are in the starting screen with your character
Here with a niffler
And here Highwing is photobombing

Hogwarts Legacy
Lavinia finished her second trial and learned to breed beasts. Apart from that she did some smaller quests, like helping Nattie investigating the dark wizards helping Rangrok and freeing a child along the way, finding some more beasts to learn teh Bombarda spell (love it), finding treasure in teh castle - the usual.
Lavinia with her mentor Professor Fig (he is so nice, I bet, he betrays us in teh end - and no, that's not a spoiler just a gut feeling)

I don't know what's the requirement for the auto transmutation of a mob into a chicken. Chickens is all I've seen so far, I've no idea if they change to other animals. At other times, it's a killing blow like a lightning strike or complete vaporization.
Thus far, any enemy I transmute turn into a red explosive barrel which I'll sometimes grab and throw at the rest.
I've yet to flip a troll's club or the dugbog by its tongue.

I've yet to flip a troll's club or the dugbog by its tongue. The troll think I don't know, but for the dugbog when they start their ranged attack (that's their tongue attack) use levioso on them to counter. You need to be fast and it's hard to pull off when there are multiple enemies around.

Hogwarts Legacy I found the last astronomy table. It's at the school. 🤣 It wasn't until I was looking at the general description of each wing of the castle that I saw; Astronomy table - 0. The last flying key is found. It's near the Hospital Wing. That's two Challenges completed. 😁 I've also finished the flying courses and bought the final upgrade for the broom. There's one last challenge that's blanked out and I've no idea what it is. Completion is at 78%. I'm also down for the Fourth Trial. Before that however, I've to do Sebastian's quest and it involves a fight that makes little sense because it's a fight between him and Solomon. However, the game wants me to use the MC to fight Solomon which is stupid really. The devs should have changed the model to Sebastian. I doubt there's much difference in the spells Sebastian and Arissa know since they're both Fifth year students. The exception is he knows all four Curses. Arissa has learned three. I didn't ask him for the final; Avada Kedavra. As it is, it's really dumb using Arissa to fight Solomon because in the cutscene after, it's clearly obvious Sebastian was fighting Solomon while she was standing aside, watching. On the fight I cannot condone what Sebastian did. I doubt his sister will accept anything he offers. I doubt Ominis will accept what he did either. He has done the unthinkable. The sad thing is, he cannot see it. He's so obsessed with his goal that he doesn't realise it's no longer about his sister. It's about himself. There're no other quests so Fourth Trial is up next while waiting for the outcome of the Sebastian incident.

Hogwarts Legacy I picked up the third beat to ride. The Graphorn. 😁 It's part of the Fourth Trial which is much simpler than the other three. It can't fly but its galloping speed is good. Its attack is to charge down the targets. Sebastian's incident has come to a decision point. Anne wants to turn him in but is conflicted because he's her brother. Ominis wants to turn him in too but is conflicted as well because he's his close friend. I told Ominis to turn him in. Sebastian is on the same footing as Isadora. It doesn't matter they think what they're doing is helpful and right but the moment lives are taken / destroyed, an action that can be avoided, then what they're doing is wrong. There's no justifying it. Edit. Ah ha! A showdown with one of the baddies. He's gone for good. 😁 I doubt the MC will hit the level cap which is 40 since I think I'm close to story end. She's still 36. Jumped on the broom in front of a NPC and he said; what style! 🤣

I've yet to flip a troll's club or the dugbog by its tongue. The troll think I don't know, but for the dugbog when they start their ranged attack (that's their tongue attack) use levioso on them to counter. You need to be fast and it's hard to pull off when there are multiple enemies around. The troll one is done by using the Ancient Magic prompt when you have enough mana on the blue meter.

Hogwarts Legacy There's one last challenge that's blanked out and I've no idea what it is. Completion is at 78%. It's a "Secret of Hogwarts" thing. You need to find a key and unlock a door. If you got to the third trial, you already have an easy access to one of the secrets. It's literally in the same area.
I am around the same story point as you and am almost level 39. I didn't grind the Arenas. Just did all quests and most challenges.

At this rate all future Bioware games will be half done and modders need to rescue it for free.

No idea what it is. I can look it up though.
