So here is another problem I had with the damn stupid EA App. I decided to download DA2 and briefly glanced at the default download location but after installing the game I could not find it where it should have been. Checked the short cut target location and it had installed it inside the Mass Effect Andromeda folder!!!!!! So of course had to uninstall it and reinstall it and ot again wanted to install it in the MEA folder: How can it get something so simple so damn wrong, it does my head in and why of all places did it choose to put it inside the MEA folder?????? The only thing I can think of is one of the settings in the EA App was set to use your Andromeda folder as your default installation folder for the EA App. The other possibility is if you clicked to pick a folder and had the Andromeda folder highlighted. You were correct although I do not ever remember setting the default location (I didn't even know that was a thing I thought games determined that themselves) and it didn't install DAO there when I not that long ago installed it.

On Hogwarts, you folks know you can do some of Merlin's trials and the ancient magic nodes on broomstick, right?
I accidentally discover this when I kept falling on one Merlin trial; I failed to notice the slabs were in a domino pattern so I should start from the top than the bottom. Annoyed, I hop on the broomstick to get to the starting slab, brushed against the top and noticed the slab accepted it as my stepping on it.

The Witcher 3So egg on face time here a bit but think I ruined my chance of getting Aerondight. Stupid messenger beggar kids. How was I supposed to know refusing someone who already got paid for their work would screw me out of the best weapon sin the game? Though of course I could've probably remembered this. Wifey was also pawing through the jewel case for the Witcher and apparently I have a map and the sound track? Either I fotgot or didn't know which is further odd because I do remember the stickers... Onto the bit of crafting and thank you melbella, taking your advice I did actually not only start gathering funds but a lot of these areas have the crafting materials that I need for all that armor. Combined with some Knight Errant quests and the gear I sold gave me nearly 9000 gold..well over. Which then dropped to 700 or so when I got all the crafting done. But got the Chest, trousers, and gauntlets done. Then did another round of coin conversion plus paper chase...actually wait stil haven't gotten paper chase done yet. But yeah in spite things I do enjoy it, still wish the monetary reward was... a lot better. From there research reminded me that the quest with the spotted wight was actually part of the main quest line for Blood and Wine. Solved it easily enough. I do love the connection to Gaunter. Onto helping out Regis and the amount of monsters was a little underwhelming from what I remembered still a tough fight though. What he put himself through. More exploration from there slight. Though fell to my death twice. The highlight of this was did my first Hanse of the DLC. Impressive little set piece as I was able to clear it out. Got a couple of extended whirls going as I was knocking my way and punching my way through the center of my line and then worked my way through and then twisting around. The boss fight at the end was a little...pathetic. Though on the other side to I found it fascinating that I ran into even more information on Moreu. A journal was in the basement of the area detailing more with Witcher Jerome. Also got my money up even higher since I sold all that gear to the armorer that was there.

I agree on the Hufflepuff common room, too bad you don't actually spend all that much time in them, aside from a few instances when changing seasons and maybe a quest or two My Puff didn't spare Sebastian, because as much as she cared about the guy she agreed with Ominis that everything has limits
That said, I aim to make my Ravenclaw a bit more...morally gray, still no unforgivable curses but more forgiving of Seb
I can't wait to see the Ravenclaw common room I kind of wish the game was more school centric storywise. You spend way more time outside of the school than in it, despite having more studies than everyone else to get up to speed. Same, I mean it's called Hogwarts Legacy for a reason, that would make one think you'd spend a fair amount of time inside the school studying...instead of roaming the castle trying to get every field guide thing, getting lost a thousand times and helping students with everything but studying I love Ominis, he's such a sweetheart...Poppy too, Natsai...50/50 and Seb is...well, being Seb an idiot of a boy who thought he knew best even when everyone around him got the giant sign from Aveline that says DON'T ( Varric: you could hit people with it!) though I do plan on not turning him in next time around...kinda wanna tell him about Rookwood myself this time around it was so satisfying to kill that son of a b-tch after learning the truth about what happened with Anne, I killed him with ancient magic, turned him into millions of teensy little pieces *laughs manically* Just have to decide on a new name for the new character (my biggest nemesis in games, naming characters...right up there with designing them and giving them a background) Ominis is the best. I love Poppy too and like Natty. But my best buddy is Deek, I mean, I face acromantulas for that little guy. I also like the teachers, Sirona and of course Logbok. And I wished, Amit had a bigger role. I agree on Amit, I love that kid...really wish he had some astronomy centered quest line, maybe have him tag along as you uncover all those astronomy tables And Sirona, such a sweetheart...I loved her the moment she stood up for the MC in the Three Broomsticks when Rookwood and Harlow came knocking. Sirona: *glaring daggers* I said, my friend is busy
And Lodgok ...poor thing I was so sad when he died, truly my last few hours of the game were very turbulent First I did the quest where Lodgok died, then the Sebastian one where he kills his uncle and made Ominis turn him in...and then the final quest where Fig died (Though the part where all those teachers showed up to help us was pretty epic, I was like yasss!! (also the Ranrok fight was pretty cool) people on Reddit do say that if you cast Lumos near the windows in the Slytherin common room you attract fish...no idea if it's true (At least Ominis gets a good laugh out of it by telling first years that mermaids frequent the common room windows Fish are indeed drawn to the Lumos. And there are mermaids! Keep watching! There are a bunch of interesting Lumos details - it changes paintings with werewolves for example. And when you cast it, any follower casts it too... except Ominis. yeah I know, I found that a really neat detail...

I saw a review earlier for it IGN gave it a 5 I think IGN were a bit mean. Much depends on what you like and what else is on your plate. It's not a 'must play', but it may be a 'nice to play'.

Yeah I watched another Gaming Bolt andthe ygav it an 8 so looked on Steam and noticed it was only £30 so I decided to give it a chance as i tdoesn't look a bad game to me perhaps not the best graphically but I've seen worse. I don't know when I'll gettime to play it but I have decided to pick it up and give it a shot as it does look interesting. Besides I'm not one for judging things basede on reviews anymore. MEA taught me that lesson all t owell. I judge b ywha tI see in a game now not what any reviewer is telling me. I'm a little concerned by the difficulty given the Darksouls comparison sth ereviwes were makin gbu tthat's all but I think if I'm smart enough with my tactics hopefully I can get throug hit.

Hogwarts Legacy
I continued my Hufflepuff playthrough. It's so muc heasier, when you know, what you are doing
I'm already at the Jackdaw quest and really liked the Hufflepuff specific quest , leading you there. Really heartbreaking.
I have some screen, but they are of course spoilery, if you don't play a Puff
I'm doing the main quests quicker this time - and every quest, that gives me spells (still not learning the Unforgivables, I mean, I'm a Hufflepuff, I use my flesheating chomping cabbages )

I'm not that adept at pointing my controller at 'weak points' in super-quick time, so I've already got hung up with 3 enemies (and in the end succeeded with 2) I'll try again tomorrow. But one review said that the difficulty curve eases over time with skills, so the hardest bit may well be the start.

Finished FH5 now so will start the process of installing Hogwart sand Forspoken tomorrow I won't play them yet as I'm going t oprobabl yd oa season o r2 of Fifa while I wait but my first character on Hogwarts isn't far from being ready to start her magical adventure. I'll probabl ydo Hpogwarts firs tand install Forspoken latre given bot hare big games space wise with Hogwarts being 70 GB and Forspoken being 130. So both are games tha tcould take the better part of the day to install s owil lprobabl yinstall on seperate days and maybe throw an Xcom installation in between them given those games are smaller and threefore install faster given I'm thinking I may play those too among m ycomfort games as I was planing on puttin thos on my HDD.

Battletech
I'm still playing Hardspace Shipbreaker but I decided I need to take a break from ship dismantling.
Battletech has an interesting intro montage of its lore. Easy to understand and catch up. I wish though that the beginning monologue didn't immediately give the ending; that Kamea Arano took back the throne.
With that, it boils down to how did the MC help Kamea to accomplish it. I'm not sure choosing any of the backgrounds or any of the dialogue choices affect anything.
In any case, I chose the MC's background; coming from a noble house, as the eldest she is the heir, she chose to leave and strike out on her own because she had enough of the enclosed pampered environment. She went freelance and eventually ended up with the Aranos.
Combat is turn base. There are four to a mech squad. After Kamea Arano was presumed killed from her uncle's treachery / betrayal, the MC ended up with a mercenary unit. Three years later, she's commander of the mercenary company and they're struggling to clear their debts.
The mechs are okay to handle on the field but what's hard is trying to make heads and tails of the different mechs and the loadouts. I've zero idea what I'm doing 🤣 but figured I cannot do much to improve anything at the moment because the company has not much funds. What's important now is to get contracts, earn $$ and get some salvage.

The Witcher 3So lets see here, lots of stuff to do here. Started off with Warble of a Smitten Knight, at least in terms of, yeah this was pretty much the start. A couple of funny notes with the timing of it all, I was going into it in the middle of the night so I meditated a bit to make it easier to see stuff. But then I was wondering if the sun would then interfere with things. Well...the knight that did not die...was all like 'hey the sun might cause you issues why don't we trade? So I did, beat him at Gwent. Don't think I have ever done that before. Second thing later on it is revealed the Vivi changes her form after dark. Well I was like 'I wonder if it will acknowledge the after dark elements ever oh well maybe next playthrough'. Well part of the mission does take place during the night and she keeps her form, so...for the end of the quest though to I think I have now actually explored all the alternatives for this quest. Bit counter intuitive maybe but think first time I screwed up and then other time I did the Oriole Egg thing and now I did the reflection thing. I must say the endings mysteriously get better and better, just realized it shouldn't be a surprise but its funny, just trust Geralt. Just play Geralt as this super smart Witcher...you'll be fine. Then the main thrust of things was did the first two legs of Wine Wars and later on got through Paperchase and a few more grinding for question marks. Actually I do really like how this DLC makes the question marks matter for quests though I do wish the gameplay trope had been established at this point that you could buy maps/ rumors of what was in them. Then did Mutual of Beuclaire's wild kingdom. Ugh this quest has quite the name to it which is attractive and I always rmember this quest as interesting...but then I play it and its like 'oh its this one.' Not that its a bad quest by any means per se buuuut it does have one of the most unfair and interesting moral quandries you run into in the game. Typically I don't like genocide even of animals or what not, the value of life should be respected...but on the flip side humans I view as being just a bit higher. And if the guy had been able to isolate Iocaste entirely away from people to where this doesen't happen then we'd be talking. But this has happened. A lot. And well long story short to from the most cruelest of cruel calculus, she was the last of her kind apparently, no mate out there...the species was literally doomed at that point anyways. To the quest's credit though I do remember Geralt kind of gloating over the corpse, maybe this is something they changed but this time Geralt showed the proper deference. Didn't want to do this...certainly didn't want to revel in it...but kind of had to be done. Anyways cleared out my second Hanse. Have such a love hate relationship with them but man the combat with them is fun. Didn't quite get as much of a whirl wind going as I have in the past one.

Marvel Midnight Suns
Been doing a bunch of side missions with Venom. Is it me or does Eddie Brock kind of look like a young Brock Lesnar? Back when Lesnar was all jacked up. Anyway been building Venom's card deck before I tackle his second story mission. I haven't explored the abbey in some time. I wonder if there is anything new to discover. I still haven't found all journal entries by Lilith, Caretaker, Agatha, and Shaw.

Battletech I'm getting the hang of the mechs and how to outfit them. Unlike the assumption that each arm would have a weapon, the torso would have this and that, the legs would have something else, the mechs in this game are different. Each mech comes with hardpoints that will accept some weaponry and utilities. So some heavy mechs would end up having only one weaponry on one arm and nothing on the other because there is no weaponry hardpoint. I think this is kind of stupid. The hardpoints are fixed on specific type of mech, there is no subtracting or adding. I'm enjoying the story so far. There is no cutscene. Instead there is drawn art which is akin to the style of the Homeworld series; a series of artwork and short animations with voice overs. There is some voice acting at certain parts, specifically for Kamea Arano. I don't know who's the VA but she's good. I'm puzzled with Kamea's monologue at the beginning. She said she did not know the motivations of the PC in helping her regain her throne; was it for money, etc, giving the impression she does not know the PC very well. Yet she contradicts herself in the dialogues in the reunion by saying she knows the PC well and the responses I was given are those of a friend or acquaintance rather than a total stranger. The writers can't make up their minds or something?

Still playing Guardians Of The Galaxy, and still flarking loving it! This game is next on my shopping list. I've heard great things about it. Yeah it is good not as good as Midnight Suns though as the boss fights in Guardians can be a pain. That's where I tend to struggle with it tbh.

I'm doing the main quests quicker this time - and every quest, that gives me spells (still not learning the Unforgivables, I mean, I'm a Hufflepuff, I use my flesheating chomping cabbages ) Most games are after you've beaten them once. Looking forward to starting my Ravenclaw soon. Afte rI've installed Hogwarts of course which I plan t odo today as I plan to start the download for that in a few moments bu tbusy checking my messages atm. I know the download will take a few hours on m yinternet but we'll see how long it takes.
