ACV
Sometimes you are in the zone and sometimes you aren't.
Today was one of the days when I was in the zone. More or less anyways. Basically got through Wincestre and chasing the Quill and actually used the sleep mist thing which knocked her out, then assassinated her. But did a little slide while doing it which is pretty sick. Then when the sister for the Priest guy sicked her guards on me, shot the first guy, bashed the second guy, swung around and shot the third guy.
Overall this arc is one of the weaker ones. Had this thing going on where it makes a big deal about...cannot remember names...but the guy is dead we defeated him but the game and the Order menu never had him as defeated. And the game also mentioned how the Quill was a woman but then that one girl was like 'you didn't guess the Quill was a woman nananana boo boo'. Sure little kid but there was no chance for a mystery at all there, thanks game.
On the brighter side though just I do find this a bit interesting because well, knowing Aelfred is the head honcho and yet a lot of the Order is trying to get him and bring him down and really disliking his Christianity. Which of course Aelfred is also trying to destroy the Order as we find out and reform it from the beginning. Which then begs the question a little bit did Aelfred essentially put the hit out on himself? Inquiring minds want to know.

Posted this in the Skyrim thread but I don't think many people are still reading it, so reposting here for more visibility. I want to do another Skyrim run over the summer to shorten the time till Starfield comes out. I last played it in earnest when it released in 2011 so I have never played any of the DLCs. For this reason, my little project over the last week was to mod the game visually but maintaining an overall vanilla experience. I mainly used this modding guide, which I found extremely well written and easy to follow. I also added some extra stuff (mainly some lore friendly extra weapons and armor to increase variety and some small QoL improvements). So now, counting updates and everything, I am at over 500 mods for this build. Haven't really started my playthrough yet, just did some performance testing but so far so good. The game runs consistently with 60 FPS and I think it looks rather nice now. Some screenshots from my performance tests below: Riften - One of the most FPS demanding areas in the game and therefore a must for testing - and it looks nice. Whitrun streets - Note the dude talking to the smith, wearing an imperial cloak thanks to "Cloaks of Skyrim". Interior lighting check at the Companion's hall. The standard FPS testing view over the tundra outside of Whiterun. Whiterun, view over the city Stormy weather in the tundra. From my short test, i can already tell that the atmosphere with the lightning and thunder is fantastic. A sunny day in the northern mountains. Time to go adventuring! 500 MODS It looks very pretty, did the MODS come in bundles and I can't even remember is there an installer that loads and puts them in the right order? How long has it taken to get everything set up? My problem with the last three maybe four Skyrim starts is that I finally get everything set up and get to the first town after escaping and lose interest. But I really do want to do another PT it was the first game after DAO that I really obsessed over, like 1,300+ hours and multiple PT's without stopping to play another game. Just not sure after I go to all the trouble with MODS and some cheating via the console I will make myself play through it all. Took me about 15-20 hours (distributed over about a week) to set everything up from scratch. I think the "Time Commitment" estimates in the beginning of the linked list are pretty accurate. This is not bundled or anything. You have to get the mods individually and then set them up (and also modify quite a few individually, removing some files, so they become compatible with others on the list). The good news is though, if you set it up with MO2 (which is what they show you), almost all of the mods are not set up in the Skyrim game directory but a separate folder structure which you can move or duplicate to your hearts content. I think the only two things that need to go into the game directory itself are the script extender and the ENB framework. It's a really neat setup. In other news, I did finally start a new game. Despite havin the alternative starting mod, I did choose to go with the vanilla opening (as I said, it's been ages since I last played the game). The dragon attack on Helgen looked very cool but unfortunately, the screenshots I took never showed up (must have hit the wrong button or something ). Nevertheless, here are a few more screens: Atmospheric dungeon is atmospheric. Riverwood The entrance to Bleakfalls Burrow. The deeper you go, the darker it gets. Riverwood in the shadow of the southern mountains (in the morning). Made it to Whiterun. Visited the Jarl. The characters still don't look great. I don't think there is much you can do about it, given the limits of the creation engine. At least there is some cool looking armor now. A ray of sunshine through the window illuminates the temple of Arkay in Whiterun.

Oh right, thanks. I tried that quest when it was first released, and it was bugged. She was invisible or something I think, I haven't tried it again since. Out of 5 PT's it has bugged out twice for me but I think it has something to do with the quest order. You can do one of the sub quests accidentally beforehand (Syrens one) and if you don't pick up the object you need to get there I don't think it is available later on and that can cause the quest to bug out. So it's: Syrens Cyclops Witch Then the one to find Leda becomes available. She's in the "Entrance to The Underworld" in Attika. I specifically did not go in there when I found it earlier on this time so I don't know if that helped it not to bug out.

ACV
Finally got around to dealing with Regan so that is two of the daughters down. Man even at like 60 levels higher then her she still hits like a bag full of jack hammers. Still despite that only had to use up two rations and mostly as a just in case thing though it was a juuusttt in case thing to. Yeah she hit hard. But Eivor hit harder. Just a single harpoon drag thing probably nuked 40% of her health...then a single arrow.
So time to start the end game apparently, well at least of the main story. Visited Stynborn which is about as good an idea as expected...
Then visited Vahalla and well, fun on that to. Lots more revelations on the true identities of certain characters. But kind of fun on the whole infinite battle thing. Just with the one shot one kill everywhere on everything. I think I noticed this time that it is just a general free for all which is a real and genuine mess. But I did get into quite the arrow thrust and groove just knocking them out one after another as I went.
Finished off dealing with Oden and...hard to tell...but probably got the good ending again? And as bonus points so far Sigurd remains blisfully unware of his relationship so that's cool. Think I might like this Eivor more then the female one, though second character, but more flawed...also the voice acting is better.

Halo: ReachI finished the first campaign of the Master Chief collection. That game start a bit boring, but the last few missions are more interesting. Saying that, wheeled ground vehicles controls are terrible. Even worst when you let your AI teammates drive. Next the oldest Halo game, the first one but the CE anniversary version. And is it bad that I think Mass Effect is a better shooter?

Legend of Heroes Trails from Zero Binging that one now. Having a blast for the most part. Don't have auto advance on the dialog so kinda skipping through the voice lines, but have been catching a few gems. There is a wolf character who is voiced by a human but their dialog is mostly growls and stuff and the voice acting is killing me. In a good way. It's not bad but I just can't help but imagine the voice actor in the booth making those sounds. Also really enjoyed when Lloyd shouted Randy, because the desperation was so on point.
And been enjoying the dialogs. We have a phrase called "Lifa sig inn í eitthvað" which is "Living oneself into something" basically immersing yourself into something, been doing that a lot. Which feels really nice. Am enjoying how the story threads have been scattered into the story before the game started pulling on them. And am enjoying how little side things are being brought up later. Granted they might be brought up regardless, but the nods are nice when you've done the stuff. Only bad thing is all the time spent roaming around talking to side characters in attempts not to miss those little nods.
Have made it a fair bit into chapter 2, currently semi stuck on a boss. They've got a deathblow move, which means there is a chance of them insta killing the character when using that move. And they can multiply and toss a couple of them in a row, which is just awesome and not cheap at all. Granted there are items that nullify the move, I have two of them in inventory (4 characters in the team) and there is more in the city, but then I'd have to backtrack all the way down the bloody tower and all the way back into the bloody town. And like it would probably take me 10 mins max but I'm tired and cranky and not having it today. So figure I'll bash my head against it few times next session and then go get the items because a couple of enemies have the ability and loosing progress because of it sucks.
Otherwise been doing fine at combat. Would crank it up to hard if it was an option, but alas and I'm not replaying those 20 hours only to get stuck at a boss later on. But am tempted to do a second run in the future on higher difficulty. There is also supposedly some NG+ carry over stuff which is also kinda tempting. So am having fun.
Also there is both fishing and poker. Now I only need Mahjong and karaoke and I'm set!

Abou tthe onl yground vehicle I lik eis the Scorpon and that's mainly because of it being a tank and the ability to blow up anything foolis henough to come up against it. I still need to go back in and try to get through the Infinite campaign but I'm saving that for later atm.

So ended up doing a few more quest on Keos, an idiot tried to double cross Kass but found herself ending up as Shark food. Then back to Athens, things were pretty bad and got worse Spoilers BIG TIME melbella for everything under spoiler tags from here down Kass agreed to take Aspasia out of Athens to Naxos to meet with Phoenix Athena didn't mind getting bloody in a ship battle Decided to do some quests for some Orichalcum as my stocks have been run down, remembered why I hated doing the daily and weekly quests. Spent time setting up a Staff Poison build without hopefully having to reset my abilities as the weekly revolves around killing Athenians with Staffs and or Poison. So equipped a + 40 Poison Staff, added an engraving for weapon damage is Poison damage and changed to the Fanged Bow where all arrows do poison damage. Not sure if a simultaneous hit with the staff with its damage being poison damage will count as a poison damage death??? Headed to Paros where there are Athenians galore!!!!

DAI I did all the available maps before making a choice between mages and templars. I also skipped a couple of SQs at Redcliffe as I don't see the point of getting a lower grade sword and chasing a demonic ram. 😄 For this human PT, I went for the Templars. I also chose to ally than conscript. This led to great disapproval from Solas and Viviene, I think. I forgot who approve and so on. The meeting back at Havens was blistering. Cassandra was spitting mad that all the Templar leaders were corrupted, Leliana was not happy with the decision, Cullen was okay with it and Josephine was diplomatic. Next up is to close the hole in the sky. Barris for one, was happy to be offered an alliance.

ACVFought with Basim. A bit of an interesting boss fight which seems to be based around getting stun finishers on some...well no bars for health or the stun stuff so...yeah. But interesting seeing another Assassin in his prime fighting against us. Though, not as dead. Then off to play as Layla at the end, well beginning of the end, well AN end. I still like her sacrifice of a means, though it does beg the question given that she was basically irradiated verrryyy quickly and then Basim has been there a lot longer. I get that he wouldn't die instantly I guess but...like why didn't he he just die? Was it only because he just happened to fall on the staff? And more Basim weirdness. Why do the modern Assassins trust him? They saw Eivor's memories and saw what he did, know what he is, and he is making reference to being an Isu gestault consiousness as well. (Boy is that a kaldiscope of suck) So they are just like 'welcome to the new age ole boy?' And well also don't trust him when it comes to Layla to! So they trust him...but don't trust him. And I guess as I write this the justification still works because the thought process is 'well William Miles will make the decision on what to do with him'...but on the flip side putting him to meet William Miles is a bit of a stretch. And it had to happen at last. I finally have gotten to a point where I am underleveled for the next arc and also for the last sister of...Daughter of Leirion. So here I am and again sticking like ninety percent of the main story so far, well more or less, and gear, and other stuff. I think I am about 8 levels too short for the recommended beginning of the last arc. Trouble is especially this close to the 'end game' (though weird that this game's ending is handled this way) I am not exactly sure where to go back and do. Should I do DLC? Should I collect random wealth? Should I just do world events even though I don't know really where any of the good ones were?
