Picked up the game Bright memory: Infinite. Good game. Short game. Before I started, I could choose one of many skins for the character. I went with default. I died many times, but most of them was from jumping. I prefer jumping and crouching in 3rd person not 1st person. Collected many trophies. It's on sale for about $11 on the ps5.

Halo 2
It has pretty cinematic and you can dual wield some guns, but otherwise same old, same old. I'm kinda getting bored.
GW2
I finished the Tower of Nightmare episode. Yes! I totally hate that place. Next episode is the last of Living Season 1. Living Season 2 is more fun, less busy-work to do.
The new expac release on August 22nd, it's probably going in my backlog because BG3 is on August 3rd and Starfield is on September 6th.

Marvel's Midnight Suns
I took Scarlet Witch out on her first mission (Deadpool's last DLC mission) now that she's been recruited. I am super excited to have her in the roster now. I expect I will finish the DLC missions, as it seems like good story placement with Blaze in the wind. I have had some good conversations with Wanda, and we just held the last EMO Kids meeting. Wanda is hiding out in her room most of the time so far though. I think she will probably become more sociable after I start doing the main story missions again (some sort of gating, I suspect).
I did have to change my build slightly. It turns out the Heightened Senses passive from the Demonchylde suit is bugged. It does provide the critical chance, but Charlie doesn't receive the Resist stacks. So, I have decided to use the passive temporarily, and have now replaced it with Ancestor's Guidance from the Ancestral suit (which is my favorite after Borderline aesthetically). I recoup the critical chance by using Wrath in my deck, alongside Call to Arms to help fuel Scarlet Witch's fun Heroics and bring Charlie out. I like how Wrath can modify Hero Combo cards, and the suit passive allows me to keep said cards in my deck.

Saw some of my wishlisted games on discount at Steam for the summer sale - uh oh!
I couldn't log in to play more Diablo so gave ACO a spin and yay, no critical temps! Highest reading logged was 85C. Next session I'll try going back to optimal settings and see how that goes.
As for what I did - followed the Hippocrates trail to the Asklepios temple, did all the priest errands (didn't kill the snakes even though I wanted to) and managed to only knock out, not kill, guards at the fort where I had to retrieve H's notes. Next time I'll be off to give Chrysis a good look at the pointy end of a couple of daggers. Or maybe an axe.

I couldn't log in to play more Diablo so gave ACO a spin and yay, no critical temps! Highest reading logged was 85C. That's a good max temperature for your CPU. Mine is a bit older, undervolted, but in a toasty silent case. So it also reaches a max temp of 85 on occasion, but those are just short peaks for a second or two. Generally the temperature under load is sticking at 75C.

Saw some of my wishlisted games on discount at Steam for the summer sale - uh oh! I had the same reaction when I got notification about sale And since most games that are discounted from my wishlist are games my dad wants (he recently said he'd like to return to gaming and had a few old titles that he's interested in), I'll most likely end up buying them for him.

So I'm discovering a couple of new abilities for the two handed weapon warrior. It's not that I've not played the THW warrior before but I tend to use the offensive skills and ignore the defensive. The only defensive I'd use is the roll ability.
For this PT, I decided to use the block and slash ability, enabling the sub ability; spinning defense to whirl the greatsword once a mob struck. I found this helpful as mobs often made a beeline for the Inq and there's always a bunch around her. The spinning defense inflicted dmg on the mobs around her.
I also chose to have the grappling chain yanked in three mobs at once then use mighty blow to knock all of them down. Before, I always go for the yank in one mob and kick.
For specialization, I went for Reaver. I always used ring of pain due to the limitation of active skills slots. This time I chose to use Rampage. This ability speeds up and increases the dmg by 30% for tier three. What I wasn't expecting was the Inq would do a "I have the Power!" kind of animation when the ability is used. ... actually it reminds me of the old Star Wars posters; Luke Skywalker holding aloft his lightsaber with two hands and standing with legs apart. It's the exact pose. The sword even flash! I 🤣 my head off when she did that the first time.
I finished the Deep Roads. This DLC is always enjoyable because of the music. It drums up the blood when action is going on and raises the emotion at the end when the Inq and party return to the surface. I always let the music play out because it's the end of an epic adventure. 👍
Next up, Frostback Basin.

I did it! I cheesed the final Drengr of the game, of all of 370 power level next to my lowly 336. Though it did take me two times to do it because he knocked me down twice with his shields. But he was up high, and the kick of tyr was able to penetrate shields, so kept on pushing him towards the edge and it took me 2 or 3 kicks and then he went right off the side...I wonder what his final thoughts were.
Back home to turn in all the stuff and witness the wedding of Gunnar and Bridgid. Also got a nice little cap stone to the Randvi romance as she did mention that Sigurd had ambitions larger then just any one woman could hold. Which is also kind of a curious thing considering that Sigurd seems to have been sort of brought to a more even keel after the events in Norway however this does suggest that he still is sort of wanting to achieve his aims of Vahalla and godhood. Curious. Also mentions that she thinks that Sigurd is happy for them which does track given the ending but it is curious because given the 'bad ending' that I know this is one thing that Sigurd does not like and holds over Eivor. Hmm.
Onto the last Daughter and well that was...quite a fight. But I got her after the first time, despite her also hitting like a ton of rocks and not being that easy to get. But I stayed at a distance and kicks of tyrs, the harpoon impalement, and focus of Nornir really helped. And that was it.
THough from there...I FORGOT TO GO BACK TO THE ESTATE TO GET THE REST OF THE ARMOR...which then would lead to Thor's hammer. Instead I went off to the Isle of Skye. *sigh*. Hopefully I will remember that after I get back from hanging out with Kassandra.

I kind of take that as she's still shook up over what happened with her and th efac tshe didn't wantt og oanywhere nea rCaretaker after wha thappened wit hAgatha given sh ewas the one who killed her even if it was an accident. It's one of the main reasons why I try t obe nice t oher at least early on after picking her up t oconvince her that it wasn't really hre doing wha tshe did and it was Lillith mindcontrolling her. In terms of the game she can be a bit of a glass cannon in tha tsh ewil go down fast if you're not carefu;l with her but her AOE abilities are extremel ypowerful as well. The ycom ein extremely handy. Especially on the take out as many enemies as you can type missions so she's still very much worth having on the team.

Finished Frostback Basin.
I find the mobs for the two DLCs more sturdy and takes a longer time to go down. The Deep Roads particularly.
Nothing outstanding for this DLC except for Ameridan, Hakkon and the Bear. 😁
Western Approach next and it's story time till the end.

I finished Lost in Random. Amazing little game, satisfying even if predictable ending. Took me around 20h, I guess if you die less you can do it in 15h. The two final boss fights where super easy somehow compared to some of the town boss fights that took me several tries. Maybe I just finally got the hang of it with a good card deck. The combat really grew on me, was a lot of fun in the end.
Then I briefly debated whether or not to start building yet another FO4 settlement before BG3 comes out. Decided against it. Instead I started Miasma Chronicles which I bought on sale. I was told combat is super difficult and I should just play on story difficulty. Was too proud for that and instead picked easy and, well, I have already died twice in 3h of mostly walking around. I think I had 4 encounters with the frog people. I read the mixed reviews are all about the combat being a puzzle game of figuring out where to position your characters on the board more than anything. So I'm not sure if lowering the difficulty changes that at all. You definitely die fast if you pick the wrong spot to initiate combat...
I was also told the main character is a whiney annoying kid and that Mutant Year Zero is much better. And yeah, he is definitely taking some time getting used to... Voice acting for him is trying a bit too hard too. Other characters sound fine. Game looks gorgeous at least. Little shocked though that I only get 40-58 frames on ultra settings. I know my 1080Ti is old but it's the first indie game where my card is struggling so I DEFINITELY need to new card for BG3...

Hawke my adventures BandCamp Boyfriend Tom's RouteI decided to look at a route guide and it suggested Tom (then realized I read the suggested route order wrong. He was supposed to be second to last. I think it worked better though). Tom is the childhood best friend (I mean, they're 16, so we're talking from middle school.) I feel like Tom makes the best sense for Cadence just because of them knowing each other for years ( middle school), which she does not have with the others. Me, the real person, not into Tom really. Hook noses and his form of goofy isn't my thing. But Cadence and him suited each other is how I felt by the end of it. Clark (a tightwad rule follower) and Doug (himbo) really get some moments to shine on this route playing here. That made me interested in trying their routes, and I honestly did not think that could be possible as of the first playthrough. I also realized that Poptart's route is comparatively isolated, so this route (my second) is the first time I really got to hang out with the whole team. I don't know if Peter does this on other routes but on Tom's route, peter breaks up with Felicity (obnoxious hot girl), pines after Cadence for a few days, and then when he sees Cadence is going after Tom, hooks up with Sabrina for the rest of the route. If Peter does that a bit faster in his own route, I think I'm cool with dating him. They're teenagers and no one is engaged and everybody is getting together and breaking up a million times in high school. I'm into the intense pining look, I'll admit that. But initially I was grossed out by his flirting as he was then already in a relationship. But Felicity is flirting with everyone else too so like... I dunno if they're toxically 'open' or what. On Tom's route, Garth the Color Guard Captain is all like "I have to tell you. It's so important!" And then he tells about Band being cut due to budget and I'm like... I just escaped a murderer. You've just been released from the murder's closet, trapped for a week. I do not give a fudge and neither should you. He could have brought it up when the police arrive but he made it sound life or death need to stop and listen to this! Right in the middle of escaping. I dislike that Mr. Wiley gets a happy ending (sort of). He gets to see the band survive even if he does go to jail, but probably to a mental facility. I suppose I should pity him, but he stops taking his meds on purpose in Poptart's route. There is an email you get to read says there is a money bags lady willing to cover band costs if they do well, and they never show up again after the email. Ugh, what Mr. Wiley did on Tom's route felt so much worse than on Poptart's route. There was a point where we were on this really tall motorized stand and he kept his hand just there, implying he would yeet her over the edge. I was so anxious. I find it hard to believe that half the band doesn't quit after the trauma of band camp and Mr. Wiley holding them all hostage. I couldn't help but thinking at the end of Tom's route that Cadence should want nothing to do with band anymore Cadence is definitely a standard 16 year old girl. It's so difficult to be powerless in the face of violence when I usually play power fantasies where I can kick ass one way or the other. But she's just a Drum Major and sheltered, compared to Olive the Police kid with claws and pepper spray. She's no Lucette from Cinderella Phenomenon with magic power or sword training or at the least, an LI with either to protect her. They're all kids. And that probably adds to the fear factor. This game is such a psych thriller/horror novel. I don't have much strength for horror. You'd think knowing about Mr. Wiley being off his meds and going nuts with a gun in Poptart's route already would have prepared me, made me more stoic, but it absolutely did not. The Radiants: Demo College age lady who gets Harry Potter'd into a magical world. And then doesn't give a damn at all that she'll never finish her regular college, see any of her friends, her part time job. Just absolutely no grief at being picked up and dropped with Oracle Powers at MAgic College. A semi stat raiser, I of course failed many skill checks which just make me want to strategize more. I will succeed at all the things because I am an all powerful..uh,, human Oracle who can't see the future for shit right now. I liked, for the most part, the moving sprites. But some of them move way too much in a weird awkward way that isn't totally natural. I do like my smooch options, Kuudere and Playboy. Emo and Lesbian look more like friend material to me. Released at the end of the month. Glass Heart: DemoSome demos of VNs just share the common route. Some like to do this weird "side story" thing where they make up a temporary character that randomly meets all the love interests. Glass Heart did this. the protagonist was a sweet dying girl that 6 different men were half already in love with. And they were all glaringly over kind to the stranger on this demo. I was pretty underwhelmed, immersion broken. The art is also like 2000s anime level of quality. So in spite of positive reviews, I'm going to pass. I can't read everything I guess. Otome Jm 2023 finished and I came up with another list of visual novels I want to read from the new releases. - Intertwine
- Duskbound
- Burning Red
- Milcham
- A Romantic Murder
- Daughter of a scoundrel
- V3nus
- Rolling for Romance
- EverNight
- Silhouette (I'm digging Isekai lately)
- Bright oak
- Dual Chroma
- Talents
- Potion Panik
- Belladonna's Flight
- Villainess Idolized By Everyone: Closed Hearts Explore Compassion & Kindness- (Isekai again!)
- Nutz
- Long Since The Eschaton
- How Not to Become a Queen
- Soulbound To You
- From Crescent Hill
- The Villainess Just Wants to Eat!!
- Pearlglow Cafe: Sweet Crumb Kisses
- No Way in Hell
- DATA BR<3ACH
Updated my google docs for "read" and "unread" visual novel lists. I'm at 122 read (which does include games I got 30-90 minutes into, decided I hated them, and never came back) Time for sleep, Insomnia self

I almost bought it today just not sold on the turn based stuff, need to watch some gameplay videos. Buy it when it's on sale. As for the gameplay I grew up with turn based rpg's like the old Final Fantasy games. But it's really addictive and the main character carries his own weight among the heroes. The card system lets you customize your characters. You can also choose to be light or dark or in between alignment wise. You can change your looks. I picked male next playthrough female because I am better at making good looking female characters in games, than trying to make a tough male character.

At this rate all future Bioware games will be half done and modders need to rescue it for free.

ACVSo Kass met Eivor, Eivor met Kass. Quite a meeting of the minds here and personalities. I guess that is a good starting point though because it is a joy actually seeing Kass's animations and fighting styles being utilized, like with her holding one hand behind her back to fight with the...well spear of Leonidas shard apparently...which is also I just realized confirms that she still has it at this point in time. But that is also part of the thing because a lot of stories has commented on just how...grinding...imortality can be on life. And while Kass comments on how lonely her time is...but yet she still has her sense of humor and all of her memories. Though I guess on the flip side it was a little bit...forced feeling just how much Kass and Eivor was at odds at first and throughout this. Granted maybe on Eivor's end that's the artifact talking but Kassandra is acting a little weird. Looked up the solution to the standing stone puzzle very early... And well the oddness basically occured and well I did not finish this all in one sitting. Which is a bit odd not so much in that I didn't get it done, though that didn't help...but given that Eivor has to go hunt off a bunch of shards throughout the lands and then Kassandra just leaves you to it, despite it being her sworn mission to deal with these artifiacts, so doe snot help you nor goes off to collect them for herself. Bit odd. Though my favorite does have to be the old lady with the sweet voice..."please could you walk into the fairy pool...so I can sacrfice you. "

Marvel Midnight Suns
I bought this game today with the current Steam summer sale, and so far I'm having a lot of fun with it And...have a screenshot of my Hunter I am glad more people are trying the game. The game is a lot of fun. It's a shame it went under the radar and most XCom fans dismissed the game. Yeah I thought it would grab peoples attention here when I first saw it whic hwas why I se tup the thread. It's one of those that fliess under the radar a bit but it's a great super hero game. Most superhero games are straightforward beat em ups that just happe nt ohave a suprehero in it where you get to use their powersLike th eArekham games andthe Insomnoiac Spiderman games. This game at least tried to dosomethin gdifferen tby turning those powers int otactical moves and despite the graphics mayb looking a little cartoony the fact it does look like tha tdoesn't maske it look out of place as these characters aer comic/cartoon charactres anyway for the most part. Fo rexample I grew up watchin gSpiderman cartoons on TV .So havin gour friendly neighbourhood webslinger in this was good as he definitely has some cool moves. Once I'm done wit hFifa maybe I'll be back playin tha tdark Hunter and NG+ Hunter I have planned. Also for a tactical game it has apretty cool story that's surprisingly well told as each of the charactres feel like their comic/movie counterparts even Iron man does. The DLC characters were ewl done as well as you can pretty muc halmost forget they're add ons as they almost kind of slip into the game as if they've always been there from the start because they even have comments as to what's going on around you as you play as well just as the main cast do. The only thing different abou tth eDLC characters is their stories pla yout seperaltel yfrom the main one but it's not that bad as the vampyre story spread across hte DLC was still very good. Also given i tgives yo ua new enemy with diffrent abiliities to have to deal with which is never a bad thing.

I am glad more people are trying the game. The game is a lot of fun. It's a shame it went under the radar and most XCom fans dismissed the game. I almost bought it today just not sold on the turn based stuff, need to watch some gameplay videos. Take a look at my thread. That'l lshow some as I put a lot of gamepla yvids in there. It is easier than say Xcom as it doesn't have things like permadeath and such like that. You can still get character imnjuries an dsuch like tha tbut in those cases you just won't b eable to use them in the next couple of missions or whateve ror a tleast i fyou d ouse them they'll b ehampered as in the ywon't be able t omov efor the firs t2 turns or something lik ethat. Thankfull ythough if you ge tthe DLC you'll have 17 on your roster once you recruit everyone so I think if you have the right approach yo ushould b eable to cover for any losses until they'er bac kon their feet. But again i tdepends on wha tdifficult yyou pla yon. Thankfull ythe game does have 8 different dfifficult ysettings and yes that includes a story mode difficulty as well. So you can always start at the bottom and work your wa yup once you're comfortable. Here's my thread bsn.boards.net/thread/19757/marvels-midnight-sunsHere's a vid of some gameplay of Magik Hunter and Spiderman teaming up against the first bos really in Venom who if you get the DLC can later become a companion. Also the game does have tutorials that explain everyhting to you as you play through it for ht efirs ttime much like DAI doesfo rexampl ewhen workin gthrough the prologue.

I haven't played it ye tbut I had heard of th egame I had heard i tw asshort an dlooked quiet fas tpaced which was my onl yconcen due t ono tbein gtha tquick on buttons. But with the discount price I thought it was worth at least giving it a chance. It is fast paced. I would suggest starting on easy to get the feel of the game.

Completed my revenge difficulty playthrough of Bright Memory: Infinite. Below is the screen for the player to choose their outfit and color of their weapons. In my playthrough I chose Cheongsam Blue Flowers outfit using colors for the weapons to match the outfit. I was also able to use 3rd person. It made a difference. I also found out, through youtube, to complete the more difficult playthroughs, the player can use chapter select choosing the last chapter to get the trophy/achievement instead of doing a complete playthrough. I will do that for my Hell difficulty playthrough. I might download Bright Memory, the first game, for the computer since it's not available for the ps5. On steam it's about $4. Had a fight on the wing of a burning plane. The first guy was a pain Collected more trophies
