Starfield
I didn't watch any gameplay but I went quickly through a review and comments.
Game is; choked with loading screens for travel, taking off, landing, going up ladders, opening doors, etc
abysmal dialogues and reactions from NPCs
How's the experience from those who have purchased and playing it. Premium edition? It costs over 144 and 100 at normal. Not paying that much for this game.

Dialogues and characters (look, personality etc) are OK but IMO worse than MEA or MET or DA games. Story so far is OK, the start is a bit poor from a credibility point of view but otherwise has been OK but it is very early on for me even 20hrs in but Iwas more wowed by MEA's beginnings TBH. Lack of Ammo, encumbrance and lack of reward for effort is probably more my main gripes but I am enjoying the game and it will be better when I manage (if ever) to master space flight/combat.

I think it has definitely been over hyped, but it is a good game and I do not mind having paid full price for it at all. All the games I mentioned above that I thought were better for one way or another benefitted from updates and MODS and I am sure Starfield will as well. As I have said in the Starfield thread it is frustrating at times but a lot of that is getting used to a new game but there are definitely things they can improve to make things a bit easier.

it will be better when I manage (if ever) to master space flight/combat. This is going to be my problem when I eventually decide to buy it. Hopefully there will be patches or mods that will either improve it or remove space combat. I like how it's done in the Mass Effect games and KOTOR games, just pick a destination and go there instantly.

Well, you said it's worse than MEA or MET or DA games. Andromeda is the worst of the games Bioware made so if Starfield can't climb the rung over it, obviously there's no point buying it. Moreover the price is too much. $100. I can buy 20+ good meals with that. 😀

Worse was probably a bad word and those games for their times etc. were masterful. Starfield is a degree not as well done in terms of character dialogue and the improvement on MET are good, DA more so but and remember I am only 20 odd hours in the story etc. and the game premise has not been sold well. That said the side quest I am doing right now has been really good, definitley watch some game play and visit the Non-Spoiler Starfield thread and see other peoples opinions. Please do not rely on mine alone to decide not to buy it. I have no regrets having spent $170 AUD on it and it appears to be a game I will probably easily put hundreds of hours into my first PT if not 700 or 800 hours.

I completed SW Republic Commando and it is such a shame we never got a proper follow up or, as of now, a canon trip of Delta Squad through some conflicts and how ||Scorch|| has seemingly ended all alone in The Bad Batch.

*sings* Its been awhile. Fallout New VegasHad a lot of fun. Actually really took a step forward to having a lot more bad ass things going on and really spending time upgrading my gear and finally starting to make some progress on the game overall. So first off miss Rose of Sharon Cassidy figures out that her caravan was ambushed by people who had very powerful weapons. And then tracked down several more. She figures that the Crimson Caravan and the Silver Rush was responsible so she wanted me to go take revenge on them...with me along. So my first brilliant plan was to go after the CEO of the Crimson Caravan. In the middle of her barracks. In the middle of her men. Yeah several things were going on. Figured on sneaking in the middle of the night and killing her in her sleep but none of her men were asleep around her. So I waited with my trust straight razor right by her bed while the guards paced back and forth...and then when it said 'hidden' I struck. And well somehow it worked. Got away scott free. Almost feel like D&D levels of rolling nat 20. The Silver Rush was a much tougher nut to crack. Kind of decided to play an under cover cop doing simple jobs for them to wait for my time to strike, something Raylan has done so it works, and well hoping for more XP. Did simple jobs for them...wonder if I could've let someone with the C-4 through to help take care of things though. Anyways from there they asked me to deliver a package, I was a lot sketchier about that but again...under cover. So now that is floating out there. Obviously things came to a head when they asked me to kill the Rose of Sharon Cassidy. Which was hillarious because she was in the room with me and neither she nor they started a firefight. So that was it and started a fire fight. Didn't work out too well for me the first few times though so wifey came up with a plan to cheese...by essentially taking their weapons off the table and hiding them in the bathroom. This really evened the scales though. Massive fire fight ensued though and I came out on top. With that done I looted everything that wasn't nailed down and took it into a giant sack and plopped it down on the Gun Runners to sell...and then buy all thier stuff that I wanted to. Picked up a Hunting Shotgun, the Anti Material Rifle, and a .44 Magnum...and all the associated ammo. Then from there did a lot of minor errands around Freeside, helping collect debts, prostitutes, and dealing with drug addicts. Last but not least went off to Camp Forelorn hope to check in on the NCR. Solved some medical and supply issues for them but also ended up selling them back some of their ammo... Final Fantasy 7This game's ending, if this is what it is, is rather long. Infiltrated Shinra HQ and the basic first thing it made us...ugh no rewind. Before that we infiltrated SHinra HQ by jumping on top of the truck. The game looked like it was going to get really cliche for a second as the gaurds checked below the truck but not above it. Yet our plan was foiled when Barret accidentally fell off the truck so our plan was rather foiled. Next thing after all of these hijinks the game made us climb like 64 floors of a skyscraper...manually...in real time...no cutscenes. Because Cloud logiced that using the emergency stairs to get to where they wanted to get without being detected. It does make sense...but did the game really have to make us do it the entire way? Me and wife made the same joke the entire way about the whole Shepard/ Vega thing in ME 3 Citadel. From there we found out that Avalanche had men on the inside and the traitor wasn't the man I expected at all...but the Mayor of Midgar...who was being put out because they put him out and basically made him a clerk/ librarian. Bit Huxy of him. Bit arrogant. Speaking of pretty much again the whole Shinra thing has to be the least nuanced collection of bad guys ever. Just they are all so...muhahaha...it makes my teeth ache. Except for Reeve but even then. This is an interesting segue because even to me who've never played these games at all it was confimred that Sephiroth is indeed actually kicking around and alive. The game really did drag out the reveal though because like its him...but we get the short contemptible Shinra balding...whatever he is. Scares him into dropping his tea. But then he reports it to the council, but we are late so the game just plays the pronoun game for awhile like there is no way of knowing exactly who this is. Mind you I wonder how it was like playing it in the day, wonder if anyone was surprised and I almost wonder what Sephiroth is to the rest of the series. Is he just in FF 7? Because he is such a larger then life prescence in the game but he also is being treated rather...weirdly. But the much more interesting thing is that when Cloud finds out about this he goes ape so wonder what the actual relationship between the two is? And then we rescue Aerith and get a lore dump and think are in for a lot more lore dumps to come. But we got information on the masked flying ghost figures...which I was not the least bit correct about and honestly having a lot of trouble remembering. Apparently they are whispers or something? Ah yes protectors of the destiny of the planet and making sure events happen as they are supposed to.

...Now this is awkward.
Final Fantasy 7
Despite how this game continues to go on at least it is giving me more opprotunity to get used to this game's combat which...I'm starting to get used to. I think a lot of my complaints about it still stand but there is a certain bit of elegance and despite it not being turn based anymore it does encourage either switching of combatants or going into the command menu to use spells. Because in part the roles in combat from each one of the party tends to be so defined...though Aerith and Barret are the only two really ranged ones.
The main goal for the day was to get through Hojo's experimental layers 'the drum' and deal with his monstrosities to continue 'up' the Shinra building to escape through the roof. Continuing kind of on the theme the gameplay offers a rather unique spin, something else this game likes to do is do nice spins and set pieces. Switching between Barret/ Cloud and Tifa/ Aerith as we continue to solve puzzles and cut through plenty of enemy abominations and try and deal with Hojo.
In the end we do indeed make it through the chamber of horrors and get to the top level with President SHinra. In short order we find him dangling off the skyscraper. Barret shoves him around for a second and looks like he begins to get through to the guy...but then Barret gives a list of demands and the President is like 'ha ha you unprincipled hacks you think I ahve princples' which reminded me of the bit of a theme with the whole 'when do badguys start monologuing thing'. Sure enough he produces a gun...and then is stabbed by Sephiroth. Who says nothing...then stabs Barret.
Bit of a fakeout though because after a boss fight Barret gets saved by one of the whisperers 'not his time'. While I do not think I did a good job expaning on my thoughts from yesterday...but this explanation does make a lot of sense in context of the rest of the game. It does explain all of their actions, more or less, and how they do not really seem to be on anyone's side but their own and had their own agenda. Mind you it does also raise some questions about what exactly they were trying to do earlier with the whole Jessie thing. Hmm.
FO NV
Didn't get that much done today. Getting a lot of lost and not really continuing on with the 'main story', of course maybe a redundancy in this game.
Went looking for the Brotherhood of Steel and trying to see what they want with ED-E. Basically giving him armor in exchange for his data logs. But spent a rather long time trying to find the inventory supply officer there. Dropped off all the loot me and Veronica had, big pick up was mark 2 combat armor which looks mighty fine...honestly thinking I'm getting a huge leg up on equipment this time. Also trying to continue finick myself around weapons and deciding what would be proper and not.
On that note finished with the assault on Nelson and wiping out the Legion there. Bit dissapointed so far in my AMR...no matter what seems to really have a low chance to hit in VATS despite being a sniper rifle. Like in the teens or below so have to deal with that. So despite having fewer ammo of my Trail Carbine and sharing that ammo between that and the .44 Magnum the carbine is more reliable right now. Which does answer another question I think.

Fallout New Vegas
Stakeouts in the Mojave are fun. After interrogating the Legion Officer they had in custody at McCarron and then talking to Colonel Hsu about finding out leads and then to Captain...what's his face. Eventually figured out and put onto the fact something strange was going on at the NCR control tower.
And from there...well the nice part is it actually involved us staking the place out and it took a few things into account. But the bad thing is it does a pretty bad job of telling you this. Though I suppose if I actually played it like real life and not a video game somehow then it wouldn't have been much of an answer. But the spy does not show up if you are actually in the tower. So you have to watch it outside. But you can't be seen by the spy. And the spy was what's his face...
And we overheard him talking about a bomnb. We disarmed it.

With Starfield's release I got the itch to play a space sim and remembered I had Chorus on my backlog. Of course, Chorus is nothing like Starfield. In fact, it could be argued Chorus is (part of) what Starfield lacks, freely exploring space systems (it's a AA game so keep your expectations in check) in your starfighter and engaging in missions and dogfights. I finished the game after playing 21 hours and, while it did feel a bit punishing at times, man did it feel good to pilot such a cool, nimble and powerful starfighter as Forsa! When combined with your powers (rites), you're pretty much invincible (teleporting behind enemies is very nice, muahahaha!), especially if you customize your ship with upgrades that amplify said rites. The story wasn't the greatest, it was fairly average, and I was disappointed that some of the game's more poignant moments were still delivered via audio transmissions instead of cutscenes, but I was quite entertained by the gameplay loop nonetheless. Sadly, there's no NG+ so there's not much to do after you're done except maybe completing achievements. If you're a fan of space sims, I'd probably recommend it at a discount. Currently, it's 75% off on Steam, probably because of Starfield. Ha, now I'm kinda itching for another similar game!
Here's a more recent trailer for the game explaining everything you need to know:

Ha, now I'm kinda itching for another similar game! Have you played Rebel Galaxy? The space combat in Starfield is reminding me of that game. I had a blast, even played through it twice. Second time I maintained neutrality so I could do business with all the factions. Very fun, imo. I haven't played the pre-sequel yet, Rebel Galaxy Outlaw, but I have it in queue.

Fallout New Vegas
The Fiends have to be the most fun combat encounters that I've been having this playthrough so far. Granted I think I just wiped them all off the face of the Earth so there is that. We'll see. Also some pretty cool set pieces through roughly...South Central Vegas? Lots of ruins and industry. Just wiping out Fiends up one end of the area and the other before getting to Vault 3.
Highlights of course were ED-Es new weapons were plasma ball things just wrecking areas, me forgetting to switch to the proper weapon so I point blanked a Fiend with my AMR. Then when I got into the Vault at a second my wife was all like 'uh oh' because there was a Fiend carrying something big so I put three shotgun blasts into him.
Then I got trapped to death...like a bunch. This did lead me to going through said area with even greater gusto. Finally tracking down the Fiend leader and once more boldly challenged him and he was like 'oh you're going to regret it'. Somehow his first dog died within a second of the cutscene ended, I killed his second dog, then did a little dance around before I put a Flectette round into Motor-Runner's head.

At this rate all future Bioware games will be half done and modders need to rescue it for free.

So now the last few story details roll, it is a wonder how the journey took us and, we passed the exam:

Yeah, that was a bit disappointing. I was actually looking forward to my OWLs, despite not having studied a damn.

Such a mess of gameplay lately. Logging into Genshin Impact and other gachas Last Cloudia, Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent, Another Eden.
Regular play in Honkai Star Rail.
Dabbling into Baldur's Gate III, but all co-op this week. Going to be in Act 1 forever.
But also FFVII: Remake, Chapter 1-5.
But also also the gacha FFVII: Ever Crisis. Because I can't have too much of these. Its okay. Its a very phone game phone game. But I'm here for the aesthetics (music, characters, encounters feeling) and narrative (let's see if they Kingdom Hearts nonsense this subseries even more).

Fallout New Vegas
Bit of an odd night.
Spent around forty minutes on inventory management and learning about more stuff. Seems reloading benches and the like take repair and not science and since I put my repair so high of late that is actually quite a welcome thing. Have no idea why or how it calculates said things but it does add a new wrinkle to things to keep in mind and may want to save at least some ammo because you can get a lot of resources from breaking down said ammo. Also now I am starting to really get to a point where the weapons I have is starting to get heavy...so have to start thinking more about what weapons to actually carry into the field as well. Thinking the most obvious solution is to go down on the whole wild west thing...but then does that mean I get rid of my Missile launcher and AMR. Also bought an Assault Carbine to see how it works and it shows promise and some utility in VATS as a CQB weapon perhaps...but then that is what my hunting shotgun is for.
Afterwards in a bit of a weird place IE I am running low on quests to do which always seems to have in Fallout games so ran into Ambassadro Croeker on my wif's suggestion from a few days ago...and the quest he gave me has to do with the end game quests involving the Boomers. lawl. This quest line is hillarious that you can hijack it.
Finished up with the second battle of Black Mountain. Some weapon testing involved with this. But more Muties had moved in so had to fight my way in. Was hunting down leads for the missing Brotherhood of Steal Soldiers. They ended up being in an irradiated crater surrounded by Centaurs. That was a LOT of fun.
