NHL 22Once more getting sucked into my Hockey franchise even though I said I would play other games...looking forward to playing/ hopefully finishing Ragnarok or getting tired of it. What is it about that game? Anyways up to 35-1-0 have won 19 in a row...and its just hard because play so many games that they run together make it hard to remember or these posts will be reallly long. Like longer then usual. But a few things have been happening. Have had a pretty good run of goal exploding luck throughout the lineup as Debrusk, Hall, and Zacha have all gotten to their 20 goal marks on the season. Van Rymsdyk has finally gotten going as he is now up to...I want to say 14... and a lot of power play goals. Coyle is like at 13 goals now as well. Got like 12 goals in a game. The Sharks traded Kaarlson to me which gives me a lot of depth on defense...much like last franchise with the Islanders giving me Chara a bit TOO much depth on defense can't play everyone I wanna play but picking up Kaarlson was too good. And Pastranak has finally gotten hot as he is now second on the team in points behind Marchand. But this game was just too good to share especially with some of the stuff which happened. Bruins. Wild. Always tough when you go up against a future hall of fame goalie. First period was fun though and pissed me off and worried me. Early in the game Kaarlson got hit on a play which got him hurt, he'll be out pretty much for the rest of January. But this annoyed me greatly as it does. I was getting shot on shot on the net against Fleury but he just kept 'standing on his head' as it were. And their first shot attempt, sometimes have trouble skating on the defense so they were able to get around Pasta for a one on one advantage with the goalie and put the puck home, 1-0 Wild. At the end of the first period, 1-0 Wild even though I outshot them 22-3. Second period more of the same as just shot after shot after shot. Until finally with about 3 minutes left Fleury actually made a mistake. Bergeron got free towards the end of his shift, line change was called, but he got free down the right side and put a shot on net. Fluery came WAY out of his crease to absorb it but it overblanced him and even though the net sailed way beyond the faceoff dot on the left side Marchand was there to bury it for his 28th of the season and his 50th point. Tied at 1 after 2 periods. Period 3 amazing puck luck happened one of the oddest but best goals I've scored yet. Pasta got it and fired a slap shot. I think Fleury initially saved it but in doing so it bounced off the boards behind the net, rebounded right back towards the net and off a Wild player into the net which made it 2-1 for Pasta's 23rd. They would tie it up not too long after, again goalie play has been at times suspect though not exactly Swayman's fault as they made it 2-2 on a point blank shot. First OT game I am pretty sure of the season. Swayman made a couple of clutch saves here and there and didn't get too much going but just a strip or a blocked shot and the puck leaked out right to center where Zacha was able to beat any Wild player to it and turn on the jets, putting it through Fleury's five hole on the backhand for his 22nd and the game winner. Ended up with 75 shots on net and they only had 18. Could've been a lot worse honestly but Swayman lost morale at the end of the game because of his bad play.

Dragon Quest XI has def surprised me. I've been liking the story and characters so far. I just made it into act 2, and its a pretty cool shift from the tone in act 1. Its quite long so far though, so if anybody decides to check it out be prepared. Thankfully though it doesn't bog you down with hundreds of side quests, or the open world check box elements. So the story is flowing at a a nice pace.

Huh. I have given up on Ubisoft on producing any good games. AC is dropped pretty low after Odyssey. But surprise, surprise, their Prince of Persia The Lost Crown looks good.
It's a platformer btw. Graphics and gameplay are good. VA is decent. Even the characters are good but unfortunately they only interacted when needed and nothing else.
Would pick this up on a sale though.

Feels like these days they'er trying to out EA EA as on eo fthe wors tAAA devs. EA at leas t in som ecases ae rtrying t oclean up their act whereas Ubisoft are onl ygettin gworse .Especiall ywit hthe whole not owning your games talk tha tthe ydi dercently. I'm glad the BG3 guys spoke up against that. Otherwis eUbisof tma yfind themselves going ou tof business as no on ewill by uthei rproducts if they start acting entitled and pigheaded. I'm looking forward to their Star Wars Outlaws game but it does make me wonder how well i twill sell when th eheads of their studios are making stupid comments like that?. The Talos Principle IIF I N A L L Y. There must have been 20 puzzles, including the Golden Gate and End-Game ones, in the final push to the (completionist) end. And yes - some of those... were real PITAs. I stand by what I said before - it is a great game, but one that definitely overstays its welcome. They could have cut out half of those puzzles and added more pure exploration and discovery and it would have been even stronger yet. I noticed some of the narrative content must have been cut late and left some threads hanging. But overall, it ended strong, and teased an interesting direction for a future game. Easily the most visually impressive game I've played in quite a while, and as per usual for TTP, there were plenty of philosophical musings to ponder over. Here are the last few pics, though fair warning, some are a bit spoilery. I left out the future game teaser though.

We start a new remake. This time we go to the Northwest USA map to make a Jurassic World 2.0 that we are proud of and, unlike the first one, this won't be an exclusive carnivore park:

Saints RowBack to trying this game out now that Hogwarts Legacy is done/ It just piqued enough of my curioisty where I...kind of...want to finish it and see what its all about. Though who knows I may lose interest and move on. Speaking of probably either MEA or Farcry 6 is next in the ondeck circle for a main game...unless I get something new to play. Anyways again didn't feel like I got too much done just reorienting and getting back into the flow of the gameplay. Remembered most of the controls. Some of them I didn't. Did one of those review things. Continued on with the arc of the role play but not in a story mission sense just in the ventures. Though it is funny my character also trolled the hell out of his former boss who is playing these games to. For the longest time I have been just wondering 'where the hell are the fast travel locations in this game...can't be just the church can it? Well there is. But it seems like a lot of the mechanics in this game are quite...complicated? It almost reminds me of the RDR save system. You don't have to get all esoteric for fast travel. But it involves driving around the map and taking pictures of land marks. Which unless I am missing something isn't that helpful considering there is no real journal. You have to just find anything you want to do on your map...at least for the side content. Its just bizarre. God of War Ragnarok-VahallaChanelling my inner Hrungr/ Frodo Baggins. I did it. I beat this frickin DLC in one glorious push. First time. Didn't really feel like a too good run at first and well didn't even get any/ a lot of the health boost stuff until just the end. Just the rage boost. And I was actually getting fairly damaged in a few bits early on in the run but I did bounce back from that. I guess it probably was also helpful that during the interlude between the above and the below lands is I didn't quite have enough currency to get the Draupnir atunement so I went ahead into the realm...but I did get enough so I went back to the beginning to go get it. Next thing which happened to is I ripped right though the time trial thing ignoring a lot of the optional stuff and just focusing on the rifts I had it at level one. The...end boss fight ...was quite intense with his little centaur pet which is a mini boss in its own right and given he can coordinate between the two of them but I was even able to get it in the end even though it absorbed my rage I was able to use on the thing. And the other main thing I was able to do is actually get the free health drops that the...guy...drops. Anyways after defeating Tyr and coming through with another reckoning of memories Kratos concludes he is ready to go through the door.
And he comes face to face with his younger version. And basically goes on about how horrible his past version was...how horrible he was. How he is still that man. But then his old self was more then just his rage and his vengence and his cruelty, so he can be too. And he does not know if he can avoid becoming 'him' again...but that he does have hope. Which is the lesson of Pandroa's box. So he takes the throne and then says to Freya that he will take her up on her offer.

Legend of Heroes Trails of Cold Steel. Braindead days came early or well, days where I needed my head to shut up for a while. Was delighted to find out I had enough bonding points in Chapter 6 so I could get the character pages needed without doing a third run. Even more delighted to find that my Chest tracking worked out, so again, no need for third run there. Estatic to find that I could also get all the final dances I missed on the first run without having to replay the chapter before hand. Elliot is still superior but did enjoy Crow and Laura. Also found the Instructor bonding events kinda sweet too in their own way. Had made sure to convert most of my Sepith and Mira to Quarts/Items in the first run (so I could carry them over) and like to think that helped in getting the money achivement. Was very over levelled for the first five chapters, but it was nice to be just able to skip all grinding. Not that I did much of it in the first run. The final boss ended up giving me the most trouble in the end, but then again they are considerably more luck based than any of the other ones. But eventually their luck ran out and with that the Nightmare achivo was mine, along with the final one. Wooo. While I did have a delightful time both runs I think a third one would've been a bit too much. (And yes I don't NEED the achivos but if I can I want.) Relapsed into Baldur's Gate yesterday so figure I'll be crawling back to it sooner than later. Damn you sexy vampire man. Damn yoooouuuu. Although granted the sexy frog lady is also to blame. But will probably squeeze in some Cold Steel 2, since things were getting spicy in that one and I've just made it through the prologue.

Rogue Trader
Decided to take a break from BG3. Since the first PT of RT didn't go so well, I did a search regards endings because after playing Kingmaker and Wrath of the Righteous, I'm sure Owlcat Games put in a secret ending. After all, their first two games have them. The secret endings are always the good ones.
I was not disappointed. There is a secret ending and there are a series of steps to follow. It doesn't look too difficult like WotR because that one requires action at the certain point of time.
Guild Wars 2
I decided to check my toons. I would occasionally log in every two three months but not play. Hence, I've forgotten what I should do with the items in my inventory. The ones that have to be traded in are clear cut but there are loot too. It took me several minutes to fiddling about to remember I have to have dismantling tools to break down the common items and these tools are graded from low to high.
If there are no games to play, I'd likely make a new toon and start afresh in order to get the feel of the mechanics again.

Yeah atm I'm kind of in a kill time phas ebetween new releases given I'm waiting on a tleast a release date for Forbidden West. Once I've finished HZD I'm thinking play ME1 and start my first trilogy run of the year or play my sports games. Mayb eboth depending on how things go. It's more I don' t wantto start anythin gtoo long i ncase Sony end up shadow dropping it. As they have had a tendency of doing that with their games lately on PC.It's why I'm thinking a nwe trilog yrun given ME1 is quite short. I'll come back later for ME2 and 3 given those 2 are longer.

At this rate all future Bioware games will be half done and modders need to rescue it for free.

Ouch, that goat now knows what the pack of Utharaptors I added to this place can do and don't fret, as there are other animals featured in being released today:

Given Forbidden West is releasing slightly later than I thought it would I'm thinkin go fchanging m yplans I'm going to do the whole ME trilog yrathe rthan jus tME1 aftre I fibnish Zero Dawn an dmaybe turn t oFifa after that. I may com eback and do a second run of Zero Dawn before i tlaunches but no tcretain it'll depend on how fresh Zero Dawn is in my mind when Forbidden West hits. I am glad we have a release date for Forbidden West now though.

Saints RowSo I remembered that the checkpoint system on this game is arse. Lets see how long this actually lasts. Finished off the LARP story arc with the venture and what not. This quest ended up being one of the most cringe and funniest things ever. Started off by me having to infiltrate the headquarters of my particular nemesis and since we were outnumbered Eli suggested that I go in stealth to steal said supplies. And by stealth he mentioned that all we had to do was cross our arms over our chest and they couldn't see us, unless we uncrossed them or took people out in the middle of being seen. So we could get stealth kills. Just the thing is it forced us to take out the entire compound. Bit annoying but my character uttered things like 'neck chop' 'heart grab' 'arrow in the face' etc. Wonder why we couldn't have actual bows. Afterwards Gwen continued to be quite peaved that we were continuing to butt in. She got pulled over (convenient way of making sure she is out of the way for plot)...and we were able to ressurect the...something worm...basically a super weapon built on a van's chasis. Next up on the list Gwen's forces attacked us while she went after the actual objective for the crown. We beat off the initial wave, but then I only just barely cleared out the sabateours that were trying to tear down the forth...had trouble getting to one of them which was on the top of a tower. Then we went off to beat the attack. We beat Gwen in the face several times but she kept saying 'we didn't get her'. My character decided it was at this point this wasn't getting fun so he offered to just let her have the crown since it was destroying her, she called him out on his bull shit and told him not to patronize her. Then we followed on to the actual location for the crown and blasted the guy in an extremly amusing cutscene in the face. Got the crown. Got the laundromat running and they specialize in cleaning up crime scenes. First job was to get rid of a car. Took me four times and each time had to essentially start over. Had to flip the thing into a quarry with an auto loader...took me awhile to figure everything else.

Crusader Kings 3 I decided to play this again after several months of not touching it. There have been a few updates. I also picked up a few mods but these are mainly dealing with domain issues. The first change I noticed right off is they removed the instant porting. I started with Urraca so she's a vassal to Alfonso. Hence, she has to pay homage. Before, it's just a simple choice; what kind of gift for homage? Then it's done in the next few seconds when the send button is clicked. Now, no. Now you have to arrange for a caravan, hire a courtier to oversee, hire the type of guards you need and choose the route. Once everything is done, you set off and there's the movement animation of the caravan. It'll take days or weeks depending on the distance. I also picked up the mod that you can marry off your courtiers. Strangely, I thought this was already in the game because I was doing this in previous PTs but perhaps I was mistaken. The mod will pop a notification if there are unmarried courtiers. When they get married, there are messages about the wedding and rumours of how well the couple hit off with each other. One couple didn't like each other and I was given the option to hold a feast for them to encourage more interaction so I did. To my surprise, this also involves journeying; I chose not to hold it at the capital. So again, I was given the caravan arrangements. The feast took a month! I wasn't expecting that. In the midst of the feast, I was told one of the brides for a courtier has died at sea on her journey to the capital. What? That's totally unexpected. Huh. I'm wondering what'other new stuff is in the game. One thing for certain is that the devs have expanded the Iberian Struggle because I was given a whole caboodle of info dump on what goals to achieve in the beginning.

Borderlands 2
I did a side mission to track down some kind of cursed gun. I had to do a lot searching on multiple maps only to find out that the owner has died and the gun has changed hands. I am not a superstitious person, it cant be that bad, right?
Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you, the Bane!:
I didn't think you can make a gun annoying, but apparently, you can! It slows you down to a crawl, has the worst sound effect possible (voiced by Ashley Burch, Aloy in Horizon Zero Dawn) and, according to its wiki page, has a chance of cursing/glitching your other weapons to get the same sound effect. I sold it at the nearest vending machine.

Stargate Timekeepers
Saw the gameplay.
This game started at the battle that took place end S7. The characters are not SG1 members but part of the defense force.
The devs missed the mark. They could take a leaf from Robocop. The graphics and sounds are good but it's EA. It's basically a stealth game from start to finish to prevent the enemy forces from breaking into SG1's location. There's nothing to equip, upgrade and level up.
Ummm, not my cup of tea.
