The Valentine's Day event started today in FFXIV and it gave me a good laugh I haven't had in a while. I love the dead inside look on my character's face that just screams "why did I agree to this please someone stop me next time".

FFVII Remake - Chapter 14 side stuff, aiming to complete the game in the next week or two, but Hard Mode (or even a NG+ run through on Normal to level things up) is calling me.
Going to spoil myself on Rebirth a lot... its fine. And I'll play it on PC within the next year or so, I guess! (If my 2021 laptop runs it)
Honkai Star Rail - 2.0 is out with its new dream planet, so I started the story but only started.
Genshin Impact - just some content here and there, but I'm completing a new character quest before starting this year's Lantern Rite event.
Sword of Convallaria demo - FFTactics-like, F2P gacha too, but it runs two connected modes, one related to the gacha and the other much less and with its own leveling and most progression. FFT composer.

SWTOR
Almost done with Corellia. The occupation was has been terminated and the planet liberated. But my JK needs to deal with some pesky Imps (lead by a fallen Jedi) in their ships above the planet.
Also, almost level 80 too. Wouhou!
HZD
Aloy made it to Meridian and then left Meridian to continue her investigation and was added another murder investigation to tackle by her only acquaintance in the city (can't exactly say no, especially when said acquaintance is the only reason why you can enter the city).

Call of the SeaCh.6 - Finale One final location, and one last twist in the storyline, before you're presented with the one and only choice in the game (which I won't spoil). This area was centered around a multi-part constellation puzzle/trial which touched on the last of the lore and other dimensions. And few final Easter Eggs... The ending(s) felt... appropriate for the storyline. And despite the uneven tone of the game, overall I thought it was a good game, and it didn't overstay its welcome. I liked the Firewatch-esque artstyle, the puzzles were largely interesting (a few repeating ones in Ch.5 aside), and the storyline kept me on the hook throughout. My only real issue is that the tone is too light (esp. in the later chapters) for a Lovecraft game. although the tone does shift again a bit at the very end. Now I just need to figure out what I want to play next...

Saints RowSo I finished the game. At least the main story. Which there is some temptation to check out the remaining ventures and it unlocked a new mission to build 'Saints tower' but I am unsure I will go in that direction. So as I spoiled myself the Nuhalli ended up betraying us. Which wife also predicted so there is that and I suppose that is a thing. He stabs us and then buries us in an open grave which then leads us to having a weird dream sequence where my character confronts all their demons and failures and grows as a person. Been a long day. I'm tired. This mostly did work. I do find the Neuhali's motivations to be a bit weird though. He is essnetially doing this because he wants to become us. He wants to become us and run the Saints and have our friends. After stabbign us and running roughshod over the church he decides to kidnap the rest of the Saints board of trustees and does this whole Truman show like thing with them. Like has them on a set and wants them to act the part of being his friend. Its kind of weird because I do not think this was mentioned anywhere else. But this leads us to a series of ever increasing and impossible gunfights. Basically we just have to have our pistol as we cut through legions of bad guys. First section reminded me annoyingly of the ending to Ghost Recon Wildlands. Just had to drive to a destination with infinitley respawning vehcicles. Second section the Neuhali said that he would be at the same location where we first met him at the start of the game. Just a legion of his soldiers as we had to kill more and more of them, eventually got a turret. But he wasn't there. We eventually got his location. Third section we hijacked a Marshall VTOL and went to his location clearing out all the people and multiple helicopters around. There was a fun moment where four helicopters like all crashed into one another, dign't stop them, but it was funny to look at. Fourth section led a ground assault on the casino and rescued our friends. And then they rescued us and Snickerdoodle the cat even participated by gouging his eyes out...or at least scratching him. After getting our friends out we led a four man assault on him and the rest of his forces eventually splitting up. He showed up in a helicopter, we shot down the helicopter, and then we killed him in a duel against the backdrop of a setting sun just like the old west. Always that tension of who shot who. Though my character did recover from the earlier knife wound and buriel pretty dramatically. So yeah Saints Row. I think I made my feelings on this game quite well known by now but I did feel a slight obligation to finish it. That and I was actually having at least a somewhat good time with the game given the humor was, generally, right up my street, and the gameplay did grow on me. The story was descent and a pretty good ending. Granted most of the story was just a series of awesome action set pieces where the story logic probably does not hold up if you blow on it too hard...but some video games that is all you need. Biggest issue of this game...I suspect...is its Live service itis. Now as I have mentioned ad naseum I am a fan of the idea of Live service but so few companies can do it right. And that kind of game play loop is all over this game complete with the severe encoragement to keep playing the game with more ventures to complete which, I am quite sure is very hard to complete either just before the end game or just after...and a mission which does not seem to add any story to the game but more encouragement to finish this stuff. Obviously I have not yet looked into it but this is a pattern which fits nearly every failed or have to severely retool themselves live service game I have played, (Anthem, Avengers, and while it pains me to say this in a way and I personally think this is a good example of what Live service can do right with post launch content it still sort of coutns...Breakpoint). And this is complicated by the fact that it just seems to me that the side content in this game is kind of ass. Sure some of the Ventures were fun and worth doing but even then very few of those missions added any actual story to the game just was a series of reptetitive tasks to do. SOme of them very reptitive. So in the end quitisential Tier 3, at least a version. The highs of this game were very high, but the lows were just as low. NHL 22Up to game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals and having existential dread of what happens if I don't manage to win the cup this year. Especially since I will probably end up fielding mostly the same Bruins team for next year, one way or another, so I'd feel honor bound though to try another season since this is the whole point of this excercise is to enjoy the fantasy, again, of getting my team the cup. But series recap to this point. Some BS ensued but lost the first game in OT 3-2, first loss of the playoffs. Oh playing against the Winnipeg Jets which also means I am playing against their freak of nature goalie COnnor Hellybuck and his zone ability has it where the more shots he faces the better he gets. So annoying. Second game though we rallied and won 7-3. Of course pretty sure it was like 4-3 into the third period and then 5-3 all the way up till the final minute when I got an empty netter and then a quick regular goal. So today chomping at the bit of maybe wearing him down and the Jets as a whole and getting more of an offensive display like I'm used to. Didn't really happen. Outshot them 16-3 in the first period but the game was tied at zero. Second period it went to I think probably 36 shots to 11 but they struck first to make it 1-0 Winnipeg going into the third. Continued to have a lot of offense going as just shot after shot and close chance after close chance, they got some momentum going on a power play but I very conservatively killed it and even got a few shots of my own. With about 5 minutes left in the game did an aggresive pass from Ulmark, to Pasta, up the boards with Lindholm...my stay out home defensemen, who still managed to skate up into the Winipeg zone and fire point blank for his first goal of the post season, what a time to have it. So off to OT again and of course this is where tense things could happen given I really didn't want to go down 2 games to 1 but they never even got a shot off. Think I outshot them 13-0 in OT and of course again Hellybuck made save after save after save and just some very impressive cross crease robberies as well. But every time they'd get the puck my D would hold firm and get it going the other way. Finally Bergeron got the puck down the right boards with a Jet defender pressuring him the whole way from behind, more out of desperation and to get the shot away before it was taken away from him I fired it, just this weak shot. And the 66th shot of the game, with him just robbing point blank chance after point blank chance, standing on his head as it were, he even managed to stop most of this shot, but somehow the puck just trickled through and Bergeron got the OT game winner. 2-1 Boston. Que victory screech.

SWTOR
Corellia is now fully liberated! And my JK reached level 80 so I geared her as much as my currency allowed. Only one thing left to do for the JK core story: kill the Emperor.
For the first time. I'm going to do that like 3 more times if I reach the end of the story in the game. He's a cockroach.

Been playing the Dead Space remake. Enjoying it so far, I like that they gave Issac dialogue in this one now. My only real issue is the damn heartbeat sound that plays ALL the damn time lol. Its so loud too, and no toggle besides turning the general sound effects down. Like look game im not scared, stop trying to fake raise the tension with that.

I liked the Firewatch-esque artstyle, the puzzles were largely interesting (a few repeating ones in Ch.5 aside), and the storyline kept me on the hook throughout. How intriguing is the narrative compared to Firewatch? I liked the paranoid turn of things and how it all played out in the end. I'm still kinda meh on this game after your descriptions. I have like 40 adventure puzzle games on my watchlist, lol. Some have been for ten years. I like them in theory but find them too draining for after work. And I'm not smart enough to breeze through puzzles so I end up looking stuff up a lot to save time. Point and click are especially annoying. I buy them because of the art style most of the time. And then the actual gameplay is frustrating, even if the storytelling is decent enough and it's objectively a well made game. Well, I'll be busy with replaying Witcher 3 for a few weeks I think. Didn't want to do all sidequests and contracts and yet I do it again...

Didn't want to do all sidequests and contracts and yet I do it again... Firewatch certainly has the stronger narrative of the two. Especially if you figure out what's really going in the game. But... Call of the Sea was free and still a decent game. Compared to, say.... The Talos Principle, the puzzles are easier on the whole. Some just involve completing several smaller puzzles across the map first before you have everything you need to solve the main ones. When it's good, it's good, and the ending was appropriate for the game... but tone shifts are a bit meh. If you can pick it up on another Epic Store sale, it would be worth giving a shot.

SWTORMy JK finished her base story and she's now a Jedi Master. I wanted to take a picture during the cool final battle sequences cutscene, but it didn't work. You will have to believe me when I say that I looked badass. Now I need to do a bunch of none-story things to unlock the implant vendors so I don't have to send my implants to another character to increase their level rating. Booo. I might go into BG3 instead, well once I'm done with my FC Ranger Starfield PT I think.

NHL 22Two games up. More things to do in the playoffs. First game they managed to tie up the series 2-2 after a 3-2 loss for me. Trying to do the math and everything else and Ulmark has now lost both the games he started in this...Pretty sure I guess? Maybe he is like 1-2. Hard to tell without a box score EA! Vansrymdyk had the first goal of the game for me with what is becoming pretty much the only effective way to beat Hellybuck, breakaway down the right and then score to Hellybuck's right as well. Really the second goal I cannot for the life of me remember. Second game had Swayman back in net and only real concern is he did the whole gains and loses morale at the same time so...yipes. Other then that went up and beat them 6-3 to go up 3-2 on the series so I am pretty confident...but gonna start Ulmark next game most likely so we'll see. Bergeron got the scoring started in the first period. Similar to the OT game winner from the other day but this one was point blank range as it still was able to leak on through. Foligno would then get a game misconduct but I was able to kill off the penalty, I was able to kill off the ensuing penelty though. But they would get two goals of their own in the second period so either 2-1, at the end of the second. Charlie McAvoy would get his second goal of the playoffs to make it 2-2 and give me the lead. Shot, rebound, and then twisted around to put another shot on the goalie which put me up. Zacha would make it 3-2 on a breakway. Good little puck luck happened on Coyle's seventh of the season to make it 4-2. They would rally to make it four to three....then finished off with 2 empty netters. Taylor Hall would pick up pretty much his league leading 13th playoff goal, Debrusk would get his second of the game and eigth of the playoff by shooting, initial shot missed, but then I skated around the net to put it in from the other side.

Dragon Age: Inquisition
With rpg's like these where we get to choose what race and gender I always have trouble deciding. After some messing around with the character creator for each race and gender I chose to stay with my Qunari male. I just had to see the other races options first. So I haven't done much been busy the last two days, but I did get to talk to everyone before we left to the Hinterlands. We met Mother Giselle and she gave us our tasks. That was all I did yesterday. Tonight I will have plenty of time so I will explore the Hinterlands.

Far Cry 6
I wanna say that this is the first time I have replayed a game in the PS5 generation. At least unless you count Vahalla which has a sort of asterisk to it. And well this game has new game + which is pretty nice. Actually does seem to include everything that I unlocked from the first game in terms of gear and weapons...plus I think I got new things unlocked from tie ins with Vahalla which I am now rocking. This does highlight I am pretty sure that I didn't actually upgrade everything from the first playthrough though, seemed grindy I think, so I actually just focussed on the ones I wanted. New playthrough means more potential to unlock things..and this being an FPS it is a little bit 'odd' again that there is some gear customization since you rarely see it.
Other thing forgot kind of some of the implications of this even though I did give the game the benefit of the doubt specifically for this lack of feature...but no manual saves might have an interesting drawback in that it might make it difficult to do the alternative ending. Now half as a joke I was halfway intending to go about and do the secret ending and call it a day. Well I am actually thinking about playing the game...but wanted to do the secret ending still. And yet if it locks me out of being able to actually play the game I might have to watch it on YouTube...again.
The beginning of this game is quite...interesting. In its own way. After playing through it once already and watching wifey play it, even years ago, already getting a few things and also a few things were foreshadowed or at least set up and established. Anton's introduction was a little...uncanny valley and thus weird...but he did deliver his classic 'truth or lies' and a pretty strong introduction of his basic character traits. As he did betray the boat dwellers...for some reason...and sent them to the bottom of the sea.
Also wifey wanted to relay part of her gameplay and admittedly it was interesting to watch. She was clearing out a base and accidentally shot a shot which got the entire base's attention. They didn't see her but they all poured out after her in just one giant lines of soldiers, leaving no one in the actual base itself to deal with her so she swung back in. And was able to kill them all.

Still have been away from Gaming (mostly because of my Meniere's attacks) but also because I seem to not have any time lately where I can sit down by myself.

Thank you for waiting, we are still adding animals to the place and that includes the Iguanodon as well the Kentrosaurus: I've been wondering, are there incidents where the dinos escape and start to eat visitors like in the movies? Or it's all just building a happy zoo with prehistoric critters?

It's taken a bit longer than expect4ed but I'm hopeful I ca nfinish ME1 today given I only have Virmire and Ilos left. Looking forward to getting to ME2 hopefull ybfeoer theend o fthe da ydepending on how quickly I navigate the rest of ME1 I di ddie a couple of timesthis playthrough which is probably why things have taken a little longer this time.
Anywa yon the EA App you can practically stea lthe Legendar yEdition atm as it's bein gsolf fo rless than £10 as it's £8 and change for the 3 fantastic games that make up the trilogy and al ltheir DLC anyone who doesn' thave it yet on PC get it now before EA realises they're being robbed.

It's kind of surprisin gho wsimilar bot hHorizon and he ME trilogy are in tha tthey're both about stopping machine led apocalyses an th efac tthey'er both 3rd person actoin RPG's. Not tha tthere' sanything wron git jus tsurprising ho wwsimilar they are and in how their mechanics work. Makes me wonder whether Guerilla took their inspiration as muc hfrom Mass Effect as they did from Tomb Raider .As Horizon kin of feels like what if Shepard andLara Croft had a baby

Yakuza: Like a Dragon (First one, super cheap on steam at moment).
Picked this up last night. Bit of a slow start with a fairly seriously gangster story and not very challenging fights with limited options.
Now on chapter 4 and things have gone more than a little bit bonkers-
Ichiban has embraced his desire to be a Dragon Quest style hero and started letting his imagination run wild; met the Sujimon Sensei, who wants me to collect data for my Sujidex on all the Super Jittery Men (ie the perverts and degenerates around town); tried to stay awake through a bad vintage film by swatting away phantom ram headed figures; helped a guy who was being mugged for baby formula which turned out… interesting.
And quite a lot of prostitution related story. I know it’s all about about the shady and sleazy underworld, but this game does seem to love it’s prostitution, maybe a bit too much.
Wasn’t entirely sure about it at first, but after a few hours, it has suddenly got very entertaining.

Dragon Age: Inquisition
Explored the Hinterlands basically been seeking the rest stops to expand the Inquisition's influence. Shut down two rift's. Found a third deep in Witchwood and got destroyed by the high level enemies there. Got a horse from Master Dennet. Found three spots that are perfect for watchtowers around master Dennet's ranch. So far I am enjoying the game more than I did many years ago. I've just been doing the side quests that interest me and are not just filler (like the shards). Graphically the game still looks good my only gripe is the lighting in some spots. The music is great as always. BioWare always know how to pick there composers. I have read that leveling is slow in Inquisition but I've leveled up pretty quick to level 5 is there a level cap?
