So I hit level cap in Enshrouded before I even finished exploring the map. It's 25. So I guess this means you have to pick a class and stick with it. I could almost max out two trees from the same general dexterity type tree. Couldn't get all of Survivalist. You can redo your skills though. So eventually I might try out other builds, like mage seems OP. No doubt will the level cap and enemy levels be raised in the final version of the game. They still have about 2/3 of the map to fill. Mind boggling now big the map will turn out of they fill it all out! It's already a 60-80h deal to unlock all locations, I'd say.
I haven't finished all the crafting stuff yet. Still missing some high tier stuff for the best armors. Not that it currently matters. Combat is not difficult. Hoping to unlock a few base items still. I think there's a beehive. That will be cool.
I'm scouting locations for a proper base build. I'll probably start in the desert biome with a smaller build. Want to build a kind of oasis. There's no water in the game currently but you can use luminescent blue blocks as fake magical water. Not sure how that'll turn out... Most people upload bases in the grassy and forest areas. So that would be something different.

Took some time off from playing anything my mind literally overloaded due to playing BG3, KOTOR 2, DAI, and Oblivion. I'm back now and will just focus on two KOTOR 2 and DAI.
Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords
Finally got of Telos at least the Citadel and the Restoration Zone. Got shot down by HK50's when traveling to Telos' ice polar region. Killed the droids and found some shelter. Inside there were an unusual set of women dressed in white who asked the group to lower there weapons. We were taken into custody. Kreia, Atton, and Bao Dur were all placed in holding cells. The Exile went to speak to the leader of the facility. The leader was someone from The Exile's past a Jedi Master who was on the council that exiled her. Her name was Atris. Atris and the Exile spoke on what has been happening since The Exile was exiled. After some back and forth The Exile agreed to help Atris with the Sith who have successfully killed almost all of the Jedi. Spoke to one of the Handmaidens found out that Atris was trying to rebuild the Jedi Order, and the Handmaidens (who are all sisters by the way) were tasked to watch over the students. The problem is there are no students and the Handmaidens are not trained Jedi. The only Jedi living there is Atris. Met the Last of the Handmaidens and spoke at length about Atris, and what Atris had said about everything that had transpired with The Exile, Revan, and Malak since The Mandalorian Wars 10 years ago.

A bit more than a week before Horizon Forbidden West and Dragon's Dogma 2 get released. Not enough time for me to wrap my latest restart of BG3, I can finished Act 1 before they release thought and advance into Act 2. I might try to alternate or something. The problem is that BG3 is so much " just a bit more and I'll stop". Not enough time to do stuff in SWTOR/GW2 either...especially not with me opening the DD2 character creator all the time despite already having made my Arisen and pawn. That's basically the 2nd game I'm playing beside BG3 since it released a few days ago. I'm more hyped for DD2, but I'm starting with HFW since it's going to be the shorter game between the two.

HZD
First stop was a bandit camp since a cup/vessel was hiding there and who should I find while scanning but my good friend Nil! After clearing the camp went back to talk to him and got his backstory of being imprisoned for 2 years. Now I can finish the escapee quest and maybe get some more info about him from Janeva.
Found the last Vantage, which is actually the first. There's 1 more cup in this area, then I have only 1 flower and 1 figure left to collect. Both of those are in the east, before heading to the Frozen Wilds.
I cleared the corruption zone next to Maker's End and that's where I left off. I figured getting through the place would take a while so didn't want to start it without having a couple hours to play at least.

Life Is StrangeAm on Chapter/Episode 3. Playing the game for the first time having failed to talk Kate Marsh out of suicide, and I think I like what her death does for the tone of the story better than the 'Max is a real everyday hero!' stuff. Am playing Max as crushing on Chloe while stringing Warren along for attention and self-validation, and because she actually shares his retro-nerdy interests(Ape Out!) rather than having any interest in him. As well as being on-and-off with how sensitive and attentive she was with Kate while getting sucked into Chloe's whirlwind, it makes her feel like enough of a dumb teen to counterbalance how ethical she insists on being with her power this time around, and how badly she wants to do the right thing. Also plays into some nice 'choices have real consequences' and 'you can't have everything, and if you try to you'll have nothing' themes. On another note, first episode I was rooting around the girl's dorm for clues, and when I came to room number 217 there was no name attached to the door, the board next to it read "RedRum", there was a heart next to it half-hidden under a poster of a guy, and the nerdy prude main character's inner monologue went "Ugh. No way am I ever going into Room 17." And naturally I thought 'Aha! Room 17 must be the fuck room!' Which of course makes total sense in a dorm where everyone already has individual rooms and I just saw a guy sneaking out the queen bee's door at the break of dawn. And I felt very mature and astute over having "deduced" something that flew right over 2013-me's head. Only now it reads as 'Stella's Room', 'Room 217' and 'Redrum' turn out to be references to The Shining, and a "Red Room" means something completely different that has nothing to do with sex. So now I just feel like a dum-dum, a bad Stephen King fan and a dirty-minded old man instead. Also played some Jak 3, after finishing the second game last week. The nostalgia is ridiculous. Hunting insects and dinosaur metalheads in the Wastelands also definitely helped get me in the mood for Nausicaa and Horizon: Zero Dawn. This series is like a distillation of early-to-mid 00s games. And unlike back then, I speak English now! So nice to finally get the story details after loving the action cutscenes and character designs as a kid. Just hope my save for Jak X survived the jump from PS4 to PS5, because I'm not looking forward to grinding all those early racing tracks again. HZD

Was bored and ended up finally watching Nausicaa of the Valley of the Winds on Netflix earlier today, after remembering the trailers on my old Spirited Away dvd from way back when. Took me less than twenty minutes to realize that the movie totally inspired HZD, which interviews seem to bear out. Am definitely jumping back into it soon.

Ghost Recon Wildlands
Didn't really get too much done today weirdly enough. One of my favorite things about this game, typically it seems, that it can take someone an hour to an hour and a half to really clear out most of the meaningful content in a zone. Kind of blew that theory out of the water as I am pretty sure I only was able to get done...ahem *we* were only able to get done with one story mission.
On Pucura we were to and it was to get to and investigate DJ Perico's house. Got up on a descent bit of overwatch...but on the flip side it was also not really big enough for the both of us. So I fell down...twice. Also had some confusion going after the snipers in the AO and on the second one she missed which caused all sorts of chaos to break out of course around the house. But again can be a benefit to us as they came out of hiding and started trying to get us so the both of us went to work. Again few good semi auto 'sniper rifles' in this game to an extent but this whole encoutner did prove the benefit of wifey having the Draganov as she was able to really get a lot of bullets going for my bolt action MSR. Still I killed a few but the big thing there was a SB LT in the zone and we kept on shooting at the vehicles he went for...again she just pop...pop...pop. Eventually I decided just to kill him since he was becoming a distraction. Then I went down into the house to get to the intelligence while she stayed on high in overwatch.
From here some more or less rapid fire. Did our first SB Sicario boss thingy rebel ops mission. GUy walked away from the rest of his cover so I rushed in and dragged him away while wifey covered me. Then went around the right of the building clearing as she went left. Did the first SB radio disruption mission for the vehicle drop off. I went down pretty quickly but she got me then went up the stairs and took out the two guys on the second level before hacking the computer. And picked up the TARS for my sniper. Which fun story here that the TARS is my personal favorite scope in Breakpoint but in Wildans its the T5XI.
One of the minor problems with this game's open world while it can provide a lot of fun I do hate how you can accidentally wonder into other zones...which then triggers the intel video/ Bowman briefing for each zone that has them...and you pretty much *have to watch them* before moving on. Well in this case we got into Malca so sure enough got the video on El Chido....and when we got out of it we discovered we had a one star Unidad rating, taking a lot of fire, and our truck was smoking.
Last up also got our first optional convoy interdiction. But it took us two times to get it. First time just had next to no time to set up an ambush so it just drove right through us but I persistently poured fire in and fortunatley it stopped. But these things tend to bring out my mad panic instincts so I charged in, got taken down...then long story short while wife tried to deal with the other forces she got run over by a car wiping us. Next crack at it not much more time to set up, didn't really get a good ambush going but we did get it done. I kind of thought providence was smiling down on us because rebels in a pickup were driving by just as we were getting it. And they started to fight the convoy with us...but we both died for the party wipe so the rebels were back to sucking. But forutnatley I tagged the supplies just before this happened so it was messy but it counts.

Yay, everybody set sails on this magnificent ship that we just unlocked. It took a few resources and such but, we are here. I really hope that the other things we do here to acquire the Prawn are worth it but, as for the Cyclops, I see it as too big for being manageable:

Mucked around a bit in HZD yesterday just to get a feel for the controls and the game again. I have the keys custom mapped so had one death where I hit the wrong button to jump on to a zip line. My bow shooting was ordinary, the bow seems really different to other games I have played with a bow, not sure what it is. Experimented with arrows on the Buffalo/Bull things using stealth. Went through all my armours trying to remember what was set up as what in terms of damage resistance and stealth. After about an hour of just mucking around I lost interest TBH, not a good sign for HZD:FW but it just may be that I am not invested in this game. Had done more than I remembered at least in clearing the map: The game is definitely pretty, need to remember to use Photo Mode when I play some more next week.

I played like 4-6 hours of HZD and just left it there. I remember the story and I didn't feel like grinding monsters so interest vanned fast. Still waiting for the sequel release, but I'm much more interested in Dragon's Dogma 2 which release basically at the same time. And I'm not quite ready to abandon my little Halfling Bard Mira in BG3 in one week.

I think I am finally getting over that and ready to buy it. Re HZD:FW I am sure once I start playing I'll get invested, the current PT I was mucking around in I just lost interest for the same reasons as you, had played three times previously and the 4th was probably too many times. I might try and find a recap video of the first game when I am back next week and watch it to make sure I have not forgotten anything major.

Yesterday I did Maker's End (remembered to grab the power cell at the tippy top of the tower; died several times trying to get back down ) then fast-traveled close to where the 3rd escapee was, the annoying bomb guy. Did that today but when I went back to Sunstone Fort I didn't get the option to ask Janeva about Nil. I guess you have to do that mid-quest. I then fast-traveled back to Meridian to turn in some collectibles, and then eastward to an area with a couple of campfires I hadn't activated yet. Finally to the far east to near the last bandit camp. Cleared that, and Nil appeared again, sad that all the bandits were gone. Asked Aloy to meet him near Meridian, but first she had to head north to claim the last metal flower and Banuk figure, and pay a visit to a weird Banuk village where the machines apparently play nice. Will do that tomorrow, then head north either to the Grave Hoard or Frozen Wilds territory. Haven't decided yet.

I thought I have another 10 to 15 hours of play yet but I'm mistaken because another big map opened in the north. I'm also right about the two main branching quests. Both have to be done but it's better to do the southern main quest first as getting this ability helps in unblocking paths.
Have to 🤣 when Red asked a NPC if she wasn't afraid of infections. Awareness of germs and infections happened in the last decades of the 19th century, not the 17th century in which this game story took place, 1695. The writers did not do their homework and that is research!

HZD Picked the Compassionate response for Aloy when she was hassled by the local prepubescent jerk jock and his playmates, catching his stone out of the air and dropping it with an epic sadface to get them to stop. Was pretty adorable. I'm going to try to channel Aloy's inner Elizabet Sobeck this time around, emphasizing a fundamentally compassionate and responsible nature under all the awesome baddassery which I've sometimes felt have been missing from my earlier runs. Was rather inspired by Nausicaa, and while Aloy is clearly a mix-and-match combination of her, Princess Mononoke and Ellen Ripley, she doesn't really live up to the examples of the former two as cultural leaders. Never seems to form a proper connection or sense of duty to the rest of humanity or even any of the tribes. Which could lend itself to an 'everyone everywhere is Aloy's tribe, she stands for all of humanity!' character theme, but I'm missing her expressing pretty much any admiration or appreciation for any aspect of the human cultures, or humanity as a whole, for that. Just any indication whatsoever that she finds humanity worth fighting for for its visible merits, rather than on general principle and because Elisabet Sobeck did. Played through the introduction sequence and did some messing around, practicing my dodging and reticule-less archery on Watcher eyeballs to get back into the feel of things. Even though I favor Heavy Spear Attack + Critical Strike nowadays to quickly take down small machines. Works from Stealth, too, and evidently nets you much more EXP than Silent Strike. Also harvested a couple of Strider herds that way and bought my Tripcaster, Ropecaster - which will be super useful for setting up Tutorial Quest completions on a bunch of Scrappers next session while helping open-minded people around the Embrace - and my trusty War Bow which I'm thinking will see a lot more use this playthrough. Also, can I just say that I love the Nora vernacular? 'Braves' is a such a beautiful and poetic term for a tribe's warriors and defenders, even though it's a little anachronistic to see it used where the connection to post-Colonial cultural language has otherwise been explicitly severed. And place names like 'Mother's Cradle', 'Mother's Embrace' and 'All-Mother's Mountain' are so evocative both of a fertile and secure area for Aloy to grow strong in, and as somewhere sacred and precious that needs guarding from outside forces. Then there's how it plays off the tribe's mythology, and the way that symbolically plays into their actual origins, which is the kind of thing I find super interesting in real life as well... And then there's the fact that they're a super badass hunter-gatherer culture with a gorgeous and vibrant aesthetic that incorporates what's unique to the setting's ecosystem into their everyday dress and tools. And that their valley is one of the most striking and beautiful video game environments ever designed. And that like Mass Effect, it's one of the few examples in gaming and modern fiction in general where true racial diversity both makes perfect sense and is used properly to tell you something meaningful about the history. Oh, yeah, and the story taking place, with Aloy working insanely hard for years to win her rite of passage and the chance to question the injustice that's been done to her since birth, and Rost's utter devotion and suppressed grief while preparing her to leave him and enter society, is really powerful and heartfelt. There's that, too. I always feel so damn spoiled, working the Embrace at the start of this game.

Far Cry 6
Bit of a frustrating one today.
Trying to think back because I do remember having issues with boom or bust before but yeah...had trouble here. Took me about twenty minutes just to find Boom Boom because no quest for it I guess and no real indication you are even in the right spot or nearing it. I think this would be absurdly easy to miss unless you were using guides for it.
And then did the Operation where I met up with Talia to free prisoners and download data on the regimes...reducation camps. Fun bit though guess you can complete this quest without saving everyone because I only got 4 out of the 7. ALso had fun with helicopters. First one the usual EMP and the guy borded it again and started tangoing with me...shot it down with something like six more explosive arrows. Then second one same thing, got it down via EMP..only for it to take right back off almost instantaneously...seems these EMP arrows are becoming less effective? But as it reached altitude put one explosive arrow into it which just made it fall right back to earth. And well funny to because in the defense of the computer to I shot at a flame thrower expecting it to explode because when flames appear out of someone's butt that is an indication they are going to explode. So I moved on...then got an alert that they were hacking the computer I needed to defend...went charging in there...and it was the flame guy!

I have to wait till May 16th to play what I've been watching: Ghost of Tsushima. But, like the rest of you, I'm sure Forbidden West will keep me busy till May 16th. And given that the Specs for Forbidden West were released 2 weeks before Launch I gather that it will be the same for Ghost of Tsushima. So....look out for News on or about the 1st of May

Yes, right after getting the Cyclops we now have the Prawn Suit and it is amazing. It seems to be able to dive very deep as it is but, I want to first take my time upgrading it as I just know I will need a drill arm as well a grapling hook alongside some good thrusters to get around. Let me take a few more resource harvests and then we shall see what we can do:

Alright, we now start adding the actual hybrids (at the time of recording) to the research park as well making it a place to make big $$$$ from the employees and visiting staff. Next video and we shall be seeing the new animals in the place:

Banishers
I'm nearing the end, I think. Coming to 50+ hours.
I give this game a F for four of the Haunting stories. Another F for some theme aspects. The ghostly stuff / lore and combat are fine however. The main characters are ok. I'll give the writing about their relationship a B.
I'll think again on purchase when it comes to games from Dont Nod. Again, this is due to the writing. Gamers who love RPGs will find the dialogue choices / questions limiting.
Sometimes the ball is dropped altogether; NPCs respond too late. Imagine knocking someone off the ledge and the yell of horror comes 10 seconds long after the body hits the ground. That kind of reaction. Or they display knowledge that the MCs did not give them in any dialogue.
I have no ranking to give the main story since I have not finished the game yet.

Completed the various little side-quests around the Embrace. This time I didn't pick the 'Yeeeeah, he seems dangerous to have around people and should probably leave if he thinks it's right' option with Brom and Olara, and conditioned by modern game writing I was surprised to find that the alternative wasn't 'He should totally come back to the village! Disability shouldn't mean exile! I'm sure he'll get better if we just start treating him right!' but more 'He needs company and help and attention, but let's take it one step at a time'. Funny how you can play a game about once a year for seven years and still underestimate it.
Don't think I've properly appreciated how much Aloy's proficiency with the Focus is a part of her early character development, and how earned it actually is that she can track like crazy and "see the unseen" to everyone else. Compared to Sylens I've tended to think of her as a kid who found a magical toy and exploited it to instantly become special, kind of like how the Hogwarts Legacy protagonist just happens to turn out to be attuned or whatever to Ancient Magic. But fact is that she found it herself and spent ten years experimenting and developing her understanding of it, as well as how to apply it along with her practical abilities, just like she developed her hunting and crafting skills.
When we later meet other people with Focuses they've clearly been shown how to use them as communication tools, but seems like the story would have gone completely differently if any of them had gone as far as her in learning to apply it for hunting and detective work. That tendency of hers to pick things up and put work into figuring out everything they can be useful for, instead of just being satisfied with them being what they are, goes right through the story to make her the force she is. From taking the innocuous little thing off a skeleton to see if it's something she can use at six to learning to override machines with the Corrupter component to using the Cultists's advanced weapons against them. As well as making exotic ammunition from various foreign machine parts and picking up ancient power cells all over the map just to open a lock with something potentially useful behind it.
(Which I get is pretty standard gamer behavior, and human behavior to an extent. But in a primal setting that kind of daring curiosity is far more likely to waste precious time, energy and resources or get you and everyone you care about into trouble than to get you anything useful, so cultures naturally developed to curb those tendencies and encourage more cautious and conservative ways of progressing. There'd be nothing but large scorch marks where the first human civilizations arose if everyone was both inclined and encouraged to try to invent fire. And the fact that Aloy independently finds the value of and adopts a scientific approach while surrounded by the exact opposite influence says so much about her.)
Life is Strange
Almost finished episode 4, Max and Chloe just arrived at the Vortex party. This time I've played Max as being particularly timid about guns and angering drug dealers, so I could end up in a good place with Frank. After his pretty badass role in Before the Storm it doesn't sit right with me for him to be an obstacle to solving the mystery of his girlfriend's disappearance. And seeing the evidence of his relationship with Rachel again, I'm actually inclined to replay the prequel with her leading Chloe on a bit, without any real romance. (No kissing!)

Ghost Recon Wildlands
I guess we probably had a little rust to knock off tonight after just one day away from it. Bad set up, bad communication and just kind of a missed shot. Think we were going to go after a skill point or something first off. I had the bright idea of trying to flank around the place to try and get a better angle on something. Wifey asked me if she could hit a sniper way at the other end of the base. I thought it was possible but risky, especially with a Draganov and I had the MSR....but before I could really get it out she shot, missed, and that got the rest of the people all uppity. Oh yeah we were going after a body guard to interrogate him about the dear old DJ. So had to rush in in a hurry into the area, she managed to get to an overwatch position, and I just swarmed in pegging targets as we went. I almost pulled it off too but like the last guy between me and he got me.
Our main drive was to get the DJ though and wrap up Pucara and we pretty much did it from there and we were able to get much more into the flow of things. Well more or less. Next notable mission was running into the Masoleum to get the DJ himself and threaten him. Got a little bit cute the first time and both died. I was flanked by a Sicaro and he then started pouring fire on wife, she was then swamped by two more heavies and another bad guy jumped on the minigun. Next time we had to start from the bottom of the mountain but kind of I guess that ended up being to our benefit as we were back in the zone and worked our way up with some pretty good and precise sniping along the way. Including taking out my first helicopter. Yes we got caught but at least we were able to keep control of the situation. Though we did also discover that we could take out Mortars with our own as the wife called in an strike on one of them.
One of the more notable set pieces in the game, the one with the mission where you have to rescue the hacker dude in order to have him hack the SB radio network. Mission had a few oddities but again nothing too noteworthy in the combat section. A shot missed at first which meant they heard us coming, alarm went up, got into a firefight. I called in rebel support and they spawned the gun fighters on the top of the gun tower we had to pass to get into the base...completley useless. But at least freeing some rebels on the site let us finish the fight with little issue. And from there I got into the helo to warm up it up while she escorted the VIP out of dodge. Well she got there but wanted him to get into the passenger seat next to me rather then hanging out in the breaze for sort of RP reasons....well when he did he started backing up. And just kept going. Despite her telling him to stop. And despite me switching off with her. He just kept backing up. All the way to where he had been held by the SB sicarios, he assumed the position of being pointed at by their guns...but then he fixed himself. Buggy as hell. Got him out of there after that with no issues.
Last up to take out El Sueno's special convoy I actually had the idea of doing an air assault. Crazy bad luck happened though as she was scanning the area with her drone...and just as I was explaining my plan to her...i ran into the drone causing us to crash. Oi.

Today is a short video (very short compared to the other videos) of a very important base upgrade to keep the batteries full so our expeditions last longer and we don't produce so much waste:
