I am playing STALKER SOC on the PS4 and I just cleaned out Lab X-18, IE the scariest place imaginable.
I was stuck at the Bar because the game keeps crashing whenever I try leaving it and there's no fast travel but thank god for save scumming.

Still playing MEA, finished all the planetary missions on, Eos, Havarl, Voeld, Kadara, Elaaden and H-047c and yesterday completed The Archon's ship. Did some chores that involved going to Aya and have done everyone's LM's. Few minor things to take care of then to Khi Tisara and the final push. This is the first PT I have not been able to settle on how my Sarah looks. She underwent a new transformation yesterday as she is romancing Cora and I just did not think she looked like the part for romancing Cora. Sara 3.0

Followed up on the trail to Ersa. Found her but she was seriously injured and didn't survive. Learned of the bad guy's plan and foiled it in the nick of time, saving Meridian and Avad both. Then Aloy got back to exploring. She ran into Petra at Free Heap. Helped her by taking out bandits and Scrappers, then using a crazy ass cannon/gun to fight off more bandits as they attacked the village. I missed this area pre-ending last time so it will be nice to see Petra at the finale and actually recognize her.
Another quest I missed first time around was Brin, the Banuk who likes to drink machine blood. Aloy hunted down several different specimens for him and listened to his cryptic visions afterwards. Though, based on how the game plays out, he was pretty spot on in his descriptions. He ran off to hide from the coming Apocashitshorm in the Forbidden West. I am assuming this means we will run into him somewhere in the next game.
Now I'm working on clearing collectibles. The ones left are in places I haven't been to due to main story avoidance. I'm now in the area of Maker's End (got Sylens' greeting for the quest since I wandered too close) but I'm going to explore the southern portion first. Got a date with a Tallneck and some more metal flowers to find first.

Yeah there is a MOD to make her available to romance Sara also one to make Avela available to be romanced by Sara. I also use a MOD that lets you romance everybody, that was a fun PT, the movie nigh couch was a bit over crowded.

Hello, on the video today I decide to explore the two Mushroom Forests that are the source of a lot, and I mean a lot, of useful schematics as well minerals like Lithium which are needed for high yield projects and upgrades (not to mention a potential source of diamonds). The Seamoth allows us to spend a lot more time underwater to continue harvesting the bountiful resources here while keeping an eye to predators and collision objects:

Banishers I'm not sure how far in I am but the story is going well though there are questions that I doubt will be answered. The problem is, they can be answered if I have the MCs move around the village and ask the questions but I doubt the writers / devs bothered to provide them. Players who are not big fans of the DAI game world wouldn't like the Banishers game world; there's a whole lot of nothing! Things is, it's taking place in the New World (America in the 1600s). Of course there's a whole lot of nothings except land, trees and sea. Additionally with the Curse, there are no animals. Anyway, I'm taking the Ascend and Pardon route even though I was very very tempted to Punish a NPC. Still, the outcome is satisfactory. I'm happy and yet sad when the ghost of the NPC who was wronged appeared at the end to see Justice served.

I didn't really play anything the past few days, but a few days/weeks back I was looking at some games to add to my Wishlist on Steam, and ran across this game
It's a gothic/horror styled visual novel called Touchstarved I just think the animation and art style are really neat!
It already has a demo on Steam, so I might give that a go to see if it's a game I'll actually want to play once it's fully released

Ghost Recon WildlandsMy wife's and Is anniversary and instead of watching a moving we decided to jump on and play a video game together. And she settled on Wildlands instead of Breakpoint which in hindsight might've been a mistake. Just it is really ironically difficult to start over with this game again with the basic weapons, equipment, and skills. This is especially notworthy since, despite all the time I have spent in the game, it is kind of hard to remember and well basically I just realized in hindsight that there isn't really a lot of good sniper rifles at least in the game. Maybe two. But there are a lot of weapons in this game, descent DMRs or sniper rifles, that are either DLC, Premium, or...yeah basically just those two. So kind of hard because think, at least in this game, we're having some trouble getting into the flow since the AI squad makes things difficult and things I'd be more tempted to try on my own with the squad is a little bit more difficult carrying along another player...even though player and player should be better eventually. Also its quite hilarious, as if to demonstrate some absurdity. Baseline GRW you start with the 'P416'. Which is just one of those weapon things that game do because they may not have the lisence to use the actual weapon. So the P416 is actually the 416...but looking through the weapons list the 416 is in the game as premium loot crate content. Still gorgeous weapon though. Right now rocking the Dragnov and P416 would love to try and go after the MSR eventually...assuming we continue on with this. Other thing that...well with a squad and the synchshot available kind of easy to do this game stealthy but now having a lot more trouble figuring out how to do it. Of course going after weapons first means we're going into higher difficulty areas as well which probably isn't helping...but background that she is complaining about the one thing that I really dislike about this game, indeed the one reason I ended up preferring Breakpoint more, the constant waves of reinforcements which show up when you get caught. Having one of those things though where having some luck clearing out an area...then getting into trouble...then having like. Just need better equipment will help...and skills. Kind of fun though is she did use a mini gun on one set piece we did and another one...well did a mission in Villa Verde where we framed the death of a Unidad Lt on the local Buchon. Did have some trouble doing it and geting to it since base of Unidad. But kind of funny how we got it in the end. She went around basically and engaged them, got caught, but a lot of the UNidad cleared out of the base which also left me to go in the front door, but other side, to get the LT. Had some trouble getting out but it was tactical. Also fun though we've had a lot of instances of playing the sides off one another. Best example of this was going through the big Buchon base in Villa Verde and just was starting off kind of stealthy...but then a UNidad helo showed up, caught us, and then got a good level one star. After a brief fire fight we retreated to a side base, let Unidad clear out Santablanca...and then waited for them to leave before we completed the objectives. DD 2 CCBit of an interesting back story here since I do not know when/ if I will get this game, going to require a heavy look at gameplay when it comes out considering the first one didn't always jive with me...but I really dig them releasing the CC for the game early because 1. It makes sense to do so, allows you to see it, allows you to create characters if and when you do get the game, and much like with any demo it can draw excitement and hype to your game and make give you some knowledfe on if you want to play it or not. And 2...for my own reasons I have been looking forward to having a free very high competency CC where I can make my own characters...like concept art for my book characters that I have created and what not. More then actually creating characters for the game...although who knows maybe when I get the game these concepts will make it into the game, especially since the protagonist is voiceless *grumble*. Biggest dissapointment in this regard though is there are *only* five slots for your main Arisen you can control which basically means I can only create 4 book characters, or 3, at most...probably won't but you know with infinite character slots might get to them more and more every now and then. In that spirit though got my first two book protagonists created. My main male and female character, though my male guy could use a lot of work since I had like three character concepts in my head all at the same time so it ended up more like one of my characters rather then the one I ended up naming him as so probably will go back and make a few changes. In the end I didn't want to create two archers which was my logic on which character I ended up creating. The female character concept is more or less set I think just might mess with hair style and my wife was like 'well I didn't imagine her being that big when you describe her'. Which is kind of the difficult thread I am trying to balance because since she is an archer that does demand sort of a more muscular build IRL but also didn't want to be too bulky, justify it as her not having quite a heavy bow. But we'll see if I make any more changes on that end to but...well just maybe the hair. Great CC though I love it and its instantly gone amongst my favorite 'tier 1' CCs with ME 2s and MEAs...and quite probably the original. Being able to sculpt a character's body and physicue as well as their face has always been a feature I want to see in Dragon Age but also I do wonder if the technical limitations of having a voiced protag will ever make it possible. Now though the trouble here is that its probably not my favorite CC though since despite it having body controls for a whole variety of features, nice facial controls, values to each one of its sliders so you can recreate them easily enough even if you have to start from scratch...and one of my favorite features when you toggle each thing you are manipulating it highlights what you are manipulating on the person you are creating...it does some really odd things to. The oddest has to be the eye color control is under...makeup. One of the big problems with the male guy is that I didn't notice that at first and just skipped over makeup since I usually don't mess with that in the first place just skipped over...so he has defealt eye color. Though I did actually decide to mess with a little bit of makeup on the female, eyeshadow and lips, to give the latter a leettle color and the former to try an experiment. So in the end very satisfied and pretty satisfied with my first character attempts. Pretty close to what I was picturing in head, oh and hair options. Far Cry 6So more story stuff...hmm. Trying to think if I did Lion's Roar...no yeah I did Lion's Roar where El Tigre and Jonron get offed and its very sad. But also picked up another Bandito leader. Next up story mission front back to back interesting missions where one of them was to hack into McKay's network in order to get stuff going but that requires you going around and sabtaging is jammers...which weren't on the map and didn't have a search zone. Then after doing that I now have to sabotage his pipeline...without knowing where they are, without a real search zone in game, and even without knowing how many I have to take out. I forgot about this annoying habit for the game. On the other hand something I do appreciate and find it fascinating, maybe realistic, but with me putting on canted red dot sights it actually effects things. It is much faster to 'aim' and bring your weapon up to aquire its site picture then with the 'main sight' the ACOG scope. I think this makes some sense since IRL red dots are for much closer targets then any telescopic zoom sights and in gameplay it does actually encourage you to use them. Like I have been using the weapon in both configurations, trying to, either at a distance taking out targets when I want to go in 'quick and messy' or when I am engaged indoors in CQB I switch to the canted sights, or just have to deal with mutiple targets requiring me to have to move the weapon around more. Also something to maybe keep in mind and do research on if I ever move into more military stuff for my writing. Bases have been giving me fits of late but the last one was kind of my fault. Trying to play this morning don't think I was fully awake yet as I was having lapses in judgement and would just start spacing out. In this case though went after the McKay global acid plant...FT to nearest base mid air to do the wing suit travel...not sure if I spaced out because of this or just before but dialogue happened...and before I rengaged my brain I landed right in the middle of the base...right next to a guard and the camera for the place, que massive fire fight. I did kind of retreat for a second but the alarm went off so I went in to clear it out. Did manage first try...kind of sadly...but also didn't get a single one of the base objectives so...oops.

Not sure I'd personally go for full release, since I'm really picky about VNs, but it has cool premise.

You make me want to replay Subnautica.... I love the seamoth. I once let it get trashed by a Reaper to see what would happen. Yeah I didn't have to let it get trashed, it just happened... Seamoth was cute as hell. The weird bus design in Below Zero was awful. I did like the second one quite a bit but the first one was something special. I hope the next one knocks it out of the park again. Nothing can best the first game though when it was all still new and terrifying.

Banishers
A NPC has barely 10 minutes screen time and yet I'm sorry she has to go. As usual, there are many questions I'd love to pop to her but of course, there's no such thing. This damn game could have a deeper enriching lore if the bludy writers could go more in-depth. The books on the occult etc stuff are very interesting to read.
I'm getting annoyed with the dialogues between the MCs. They could have been better written, better interactions and a succinct stance on Antea's part. She's the one who's the veteran, Red is the apprentice. Sometimes when she said to summon a spectre, I ended up using the wrong spell. The right spell was to summon a demon. I figure I'll ignore what she said and look at what's the messy ghoulish stuff on the ground.
I forgot to mention that there are animals roaming the land. Wolves. Hungry vicious wolves.
The aftermath quests are typical / logical. One of them asks for art stuff which is not a frivolous request but a necessary task she has to fulfill. Items a pioneer wouldn't bring with her. The others deal with fall outs and rewards.
The game is not consistent with the automatic markers. In the beginning, if a path is blocked, it's automatically marked on the map. If Antea does not have the ability to break it, it'll say so. I've run into a couple of obstacles now and the map has not noted them. I've to wonder if the auto marking is only for the beginning. There's no manual marking so I have to remember where are the obstacles but I've a feeling I won't because the map is big with a lot of branching paths.

Having lately been watching HALO on Prime.....I've recently had the notion to buy all the HALO games (such as the MC Collection) on Steam myself and play them. I know they've been released for nearly 25 years but I"ve never played them before. Was never interested in them.....until now. Genreally I don't like FPS games, but I'm very inerested in the story of HALO.

It's a gothic/horror styled visual novel called Touchstarved I just think the animation and art style are really neat! It already has a demo on Steam, so I might give that a go to see if it's a game I'll actually want to play once it's fully released Oh, hey. I've played this demo! It was pretty fun. Not sure I'd personally go for full release, since I'm really picky about VNs, but it has cool premise. I'll give it a go to see if I'll purchase it on full release xD
Probably somewhere this weekend...

At this rate all future Bioware games will be half done and modders need to rescue it for free.

Continued my sweep of eastern/northern Carja territory. Met up with the Tallneck, then hit some forts along the coast. I find it amusing these places are staffed by Shadow Carja and for the most part they just let Aloy wander wherever she wants. Took a peek at Sunfall - mystery focus man didn't like that - but nothing bad happened. Traded an elite lens to a healer so he'd help a sick girl. Tried to harvest a Rockbreaker heart but all I got were lenses and mods I don't have room for. Picked up more metal flowers, another Vantage, and another Banuk figure, all while heading closer to Maker's End.

Ghost Recon Wildlands
Well we were able to get our equipment, well at least the weapons, all aquired at this point. Though the SPAS ends up being a little bit of a loss cause at this moment given where it was.
Oh wait actually before that I did almost forget decided to go after the P90 first. Not a weapon I am sure I will use that often given where I am thinking mine and hers squad roles will be but she was like 'what you want to go get one of your favorite guns? *shivers in disgust*' She does not like modern day bullpup type weapons at all. I was ambivalent but then kind of why not. It ended up being at the refugee camp area of La Cruz that the Cartel took over and sort of turned into Cartel central. I think we didn't have a lot of trouble on it, just had to divide up the responsibilities as we swept through some tents, had to get this target...then the com building...then the actual location. Unidad showed up again thogh towards the end which gave some trouble but we both got it and then we both extricated with Unidad and Santa Blanca trading blows. I am kind of liking the RP potential of that basically with us showing up with Unidad basically the idea is that we are a spec ops Unidad team causing issues for the Cartel. If only the game would reflect that kind of RP more.
Then the SPAS 12 was fun. Its not only at a Unidad base but at the Unidad base with the DLC mission involving Sam Fisher. And we got there at night so the mission was active...and then when it got to daylight it failed us so we had to start over. I did remember eventually how when I played this mission with a friend though we infiltrated the base by driving a car right into the fence. So we punched a hole in the enemies defenses and then did the same thing. But pretty much from there. Well two deaths followed and we decided it wasn't worth it...at least not yet.
Next up was the M4 which we had no issues with at all really though the internet disconnected us so we actually got it with the AI squad...
Off to get the MSR in Montyuc...which is located in the same area as the final story misison in a level five security zone however I was more or less sure that the MSR was actually in an easy to get place almost at the beginning of that base.
But first the usual thing that happens when you run into Montyuc and ran into the mission with the Santa Blanca trainers. Decided to go do it and it was going kind of fine at first got the first guy no issue. But then they raised the alarm and had a devil of a time getting the helicopter. Then Unidad showed up and at the end of the day a whole convoy of Unidad vehicles showed up. I swear I am beginning to think Unidad is more aggressive when you are playing on Co Op. The good news though is we stuck with it and no actual full party wipes. And this swas also despite running low on ammo a lot of times. Still a frustrating grind at times but we stuck with it and pulled it out. Then the instructors actually started to try and come after us which honestly helped.
Then the MSR probably ended up being our best set piece of 'slow is smooth and smooth is fast' sort of spec ops professionalism as we went in there. Of course it began with a problem for me as I was lining up a shot on a Sicario and there was an explosive barrel in the way I did not see, this alerted the imediete guards in the vacinity but we went to work. She came up and joined me and we began advancing with coverage. The MSR was down a tunnel off to the left but there were two tunnels intersecting it. I covered down the first one while she came up to cover the second one and then when she established herself was able to rush right towards the MSR and then covered her as she did the same. Then we moved out. I covered the second tunnel as she went by and out the base. On the way she mentioned the word "shoulder tap" which is a thing from SEAL Team where the last man out taps the man covering them to let them know they are clear. I held contact for a few moments since a team of guards came up the tunnel but since they were able to advance only one at a time I was able to get them. Then I said "Collapsing to you". Also I think at one point mentioned the ever popular "Contact Rear". But I do really love getting all up in the military terminiology.
With this up back to Ituaca to get on with the story. I did have the theory since we were going on so many high level areas to get these weapons, and doing some levelling, that while this has been a bit of a grind going back to level 1 Ituaca would be much more of a breeze. I was more or less right as were able to do the convoy interception pretty easily and the intelligence gathering was kind of easy as well. After we swept the buildings with carefully coordinated sniper fire it was time to get to the bottom and start clearing it out. Sicario came out of the building and I shot him...but I did forget that I didn't have my suppressor equipped. Despite that though we were able to hold our own with just almost no problem at all. She covered the road in overwatch and I went into the inner courtyard.
Oh and interestingly enough I discovered that they actually added a version of the ACR as free DLC since the last time I played it so I am rocking that as my AR right now.
Far Cry 6
I do believe my favorite zones goes Monterros, the LEgends, and then Maximas but the last mission against McKay...was quite a windy snake path and was annoying as I got around to dismanting the rest of his operation in a blitz.
On the good news though building on my complaint from yesterday I did discover that the 'yellow lines' in the map were actually the lines of his pipe line that I was supposed to blow up so I just followed it out and it worked out.
Biggest problem with the last mission is A. constant waves of bad guys interfering and B. again not entirely clear what you were supposed to blow up. Again I went in to an area, blew stuff up, thought I was done, moved to leave, and it ended up not be the case so I decided to go back in but then it sort of completed itself. Fun part of this sequence though is for a bit I was in a tank and driving up wiping out enemy vehicles and even some of the smoke stacks. In the end I did not take McKay's deal.
Bases continue to be something I am having issue with as once more I just wandered into one without any thought of the consequences. I was able to recover after killing the first guy though and began to then do it the 'normal' way. But despite that after finally finding the computer it actually didn't give the information i needed. Then I died by falling so I had to start...alll over. Second attempt I missed my opening shot and didn't kill the first guard so I was being hunted as they say in GR...but sometimes that is of a benefit because just a couple of guards came out initially. But in the end a whole line of guards came out led by the officer of the base. So I started picking them off, diving into cover, then I sent in Oluso as sort of a distract orb to get them confused so even if they would look up to me they'd be too busy dealing with the Panther god to truly engage me. And it worked. Only thing that got a little tense for a second was after getting the hostage I also had to protect the hostage...so I went to throw a perception grenade towards the last bit of fog of war on the map. Saw a rifleman just all by himself in cover so I sent Oluso in...but then the search bar started to be triggered. I was confused but thought it could've just been the final guy...I didn't see the sniper so it continued to feel so I just hit the guy at the absolute last minute to get all three objectives.
...And from there I went to go meet Maximas Montanzas.

Banishers
So another gripe about the writing and that two of the Hauntings are the same. I see a third of the same type, I'll give this a F minus for Haunting stories. The American Indian Haunting is predictable. The cousins, smith and cook Hauntings are ok.
Antea was asked a legitimate question because the Banishers were trying to remove a ghost. Instead of explaining, she ignored the question.
Whoever the writers are for this game are churning out half baked pies.

Ghost Recon Wildlands
Main thing here is we cleared out and got through Ituaca and picked up good scopes for our sniper over in Koani.
First misison on the day was the first real fun area you get for good sniping...at least typically and traditionally....as you have to go into a burned out village with Sicarios present in order to rescue an informant for the rebels. Wife actually pointed out a good spot that I don't think I've ever seen, an actual mountain towards the left of the village with pretty good site lines. Bit cocky but informed cocky to engaged and took out a sniper...but then they heard it. Then they called in reinforcements and wifey started giving me a lot of sarcastic grief. But much like in Far Cry one of the benefits of the game is sometimes if you get caught early that actually helps you out in a way because then they come up to you so you can kill them and we had terrific site lines and mega high ground. Had to coordinate as she watched the road and I just did sniping with my MSR as much as possible.
Off to Firebase Amarillo and just et all and just another place with great site lines we somehow found this little hill overlooking the Unidad base. Much more risky but once more we are having the compeitition to see who can shoot the farthest and the highest average distance and do the best. So in the base was about five hundred meters from our pos. Couldn't use the drone so I started using the binoculars. ANd while they could render in the bad guys couldn't actually be tagged at our distance so all I had was a black speck, bad scope, on a tower. Just started taking pot shots which got them a bit ornery but I stuck with it. Most of the bullets kept hitting well down the tower but I kept moving the site up to adjust and just as it hit about the lowest cross hash the bullet landed right next to the guy. And so I knew with just a slight adjustment...and I got him. New record for the playthrough 474 meters. Two more snipers at about 300 meters I got to clear the snipers. Then I was caught and they went on alert because I missed a guy in a pill box. Me and her decided to go around the base. She got caught again so they all came to the back of the base...which pretty much left the front wide open for us to infiltrate to get to our objective, interrogating the officer in charge of the base for information on the lovebirds. On the way in though she was caught again but this time she opened the rebel prison cage on the base...and to our mutual surprise they actually won the fight against the rest of the Unidad forces. And we didn't trip a patrol alert.
After killing Yuri and Polito...
Off to Koani. Two brief firefights here which were noteworthy. Think it was for a skillpoint but we got caught by patrols and more vehicle patrols came in. Well I had the bright idea to use the mortars for the first time in combat for effect...and then I suggested to her that if she laid in sniper fire they would have to stay close to the cars. They did, the mortars came in and wiped the rest of the patrol out. Next off to a pretty significant base and just were trying to be sneaky, maybe a little aggressive, to get to the skill points. But then Unidad came in to ruin our party, of course. But I guess our confidence, skills, and abilities are increasing because we both sort of hold our own and mainly worked against the Santa Blanca as we hit the zone. BUT THEN my screen started to freeze up and any crash in this game could be devestating for us. But the game has had a nice habit of working through its issues. Well while this was happening my wife was staging a one woman assault against Unidad and then had the brilliant idea of hijacking the base helicopter to serve as an exfil platform. My screen unfroze just as this blackhawk touched down right in front of me. It was one of the most bad ass luckiest things I have thus far seen in these games. And she...then we...were taking fire from Unidad the whole way as she landed and during the initial extraction, but we made it.
Final little bit just hunting for more intelligence and decided to more or less beeline to it without more trouble...but the intelligence itself was in a com building with red in there. So knew there had to be badguys in there and then, first time with this playthrough and since I just got it, threw in a flashbang. Which actually stunned them for quite a bit which let me take them both out and clear the room.
