Ghost Recon WildlandsI guess convoy fun was the rule of the day here. Though in some way it started to do its best Far Cry imitation. Continuing on working through San Mateo and working on the capture of El Pozelero. First mission was going after the prison camp which had the loads of rebels in it including the one we needed to talk to about El Pozelero. Kind of weird because all the time we have done this mission I do not remember doing it quite this way though could also be misremembering but there was sort of a sub base checkpoint at the mouth of the main prison complex which we had to deal with first. It got a little hectic though...honestly not sure which one of us messed up but probably me (also a bit of a theme on the night ) and an alarm did go off. But no real issue. Eventually though we started to clear the sub base doing our own seperate thing, I thought it would be hard to get into the base itself but eventually, somehow, I guess it was a lot easier and we got briefly seperated, communication area. But with this in mind I went down prone in the middle of the street and tried to hold the line as best I could with my MSR. And I pretty much was able to until she rejoined me then we swept through the remaining defenders. I think this is where we got the first part of our convoy fun in rapid order at least. Wife has been a bit reticient about doing them since they can indeed be a bit diffiult at times but I know that it is really helpful and they can be really helpful. 'how do you stop them?' 'shoot them till they stop moving'. And well that was basically the first time. Think it took me three bulelts on the first truck and had to really hit it at a bit of range to do so but it worked. Then we swept through slowly and surely instead of rushing in. Second convoy almost completley came in right on the heals of the first one and then overwhelemed us. THen a third one came in and we were able to get it. Next mission involved going back to work with the rebels to free a journalist that was doing a story on all the dissapearances. A combined rebel assault with us in support. At least that was the plan. Because I had the bright idea to shoot at the lock of the cage inside the prison...on the bright side this was starting to become a really cool tactic for me now that I know it can be done. On the other hadn my sniping was really on point for bits and pieces of the play time tonight. But the journlist was also in thre (which I knew) but she was then killed by SB in the middle of the base so we had to restart. And well had to start over...then twice as we failed it again. Third time was the charm though as this time she engaged with the enemy leaving me to catch up since she found a great sight line above by a cross. I didn't think it would be good so it took me awhile to get back up to her when I realized it actually gave her great vision. More convoy stuff for the next story mission. Or at least a single Cartel 'garbage trucks'. It was funny though that we were up in our helo away from the target trying to get there then 'target killed mission failed' flashed on the screen. We think the guy killed himself somehow. Second time I was trying to put a shot into his engine block then I ended up hitting him. Third time...not sure how we did it exactly but we did it...oh yeah we hit him from behind. Final mission to go after El Pozelero himself. Wife had a dim view of the guy because of his actions but I was waiting for her reaction to find out he was a bit simple. The final base was actually quite the sprawling complex. Even doing it before I kind of underestimated it but then maybe that was also because of the reinforcements that came in. Much like before we found a zone that I do not think I've ever have done before with overwatch behind it. This might've been the base where I was going to confidently go after a sniper...and missed. It was annoying. Which then caused the reinforcements and also more stuff on top of that. But since we had pretty good sightlines we were able to hold our position and pump .338 and 7.62 rounds into the enemy as they had to flank around a building which gave us a zone which to funnel them. Even then though the base was still huge so plenty of stuff to kill as we worked through it. Eventually though we got him out of there and well think wifey had a different reaction to him then I expected it. However it does raise the question, granted not a medical expert so I can't imagine how it works exactly but El Pozelero despite having the mind of a child was able to speak pretty good English as well as Spanish. I know children are when you want to teach different languages since they can learn faster and retain that knowledge...but he still seemed pretty weird that he needed to speak English and that we were Americans and all the rest. Hmm. Maybe this is more of a self own. Off to Ocuro! Fun times sabotaging factories... And drug boats. I forgot this mission was here but again one of the neater snipers playgrounds in the game. Namely very little in the way of high ground...but in this case it has a lot of snipers to shoot. And I started to go to work and was able to get a lot of them as well. Before blowing the boat. Far Cry 6Continuing on with Maxima Montazas. Clearing Paulo's debt and working with the local smuggler Bembe. Who is a jerk. First off wanted me to go off and get a key for him then second wanted me to open a safe for him which third lead to me smuggling some people, though he kept a couple behind, out of Yara. All the way doing some more sniping. This did beg a question though because during the middle of this operation Dani didn't show a lot of genre awareness because she complained that everwhere Bembe was sending her was filled with FND troops. Now this is my third region. So Dani has been dealing with the FND this entire game...and they are a big fascist government with troops everywhere because they love controlling as much of the country as possible and specifically want to keep people from escaping like fascists do. I don't see what the problem is.

Would appreciate it though if the posts were spoilered if posted here since there might be some interested in the game but don't own the console and lacking free time to dive into it when it releases. Or heck have a PS but not having the interest in playing but then get swayed by the incoming hype and ending up wanting to give it a go. Or at least mark the top of the post clearly so that one might advert their eyes from the Forbidden knowledge of the West. Noted. Will try to remember spoiler tags! Or look closer to see if Nil is in the game. For reasons. Think I will just post in the HZD:FW thread will be easier.

Think I will just post in the HZD:FW thread will be easier. Such a party-pooper.
As for me in HZD....
Crashed the focus network - I swear I've died more times in this game from falls and missed jumps than anything else. Should really not be a thing on story mode. But, I did make the rappel jump at the end on the first try this time.
Pic of Hades from my first game
Afterwards headed to Sunfall but rather than dive headfirst into another of Sylens' hair-brained schemes, I took Vanasha up on her offer to help Uthid and then get Itamen and his mom out of the city. First time around I did those quests after the main quest at Sunfall and it felt weird. Plus RP-wise I thought it fitting that Aloy wouldn't be very eager to follow Sylens' instructions again right after he almost got her caught by Hades. This little side venture gave her time to think. Of course, now that they are safe, it's back to Sunfall for another date with the past.

Just finished STALKER SOC and got the true ending. Holy hell, that last enemy gauntlet is pure misery on vanilla; I even had it on novice difficulty too. To those unfamiliar, STALKER SOC's lowest difficulty level would be considered Hard and its highest would be considered Crushing. The gameplay gist is you are a glass cannon while enemies (especially Mutants) are bullet sponges especially in the early areas. This gets better of course with better armor as well as weaponry and pretty soon; you're enjoying yourself immensely (minus the fact that you can't repair your weapons nor armor and there's no repairmen). However, toward the end game, the difficulty spike is cranked all the way. The bullet-sponge enemies all wear exoskeletons, use expert level weapons and you fight them more in close quarters where they can end you in two seconds. Also, you have to deal with constant environmental shaking which ruins your aim, first aid kits are rare now (I took 100 kits for the final assault and ran out), helicopters keep strafing you and only you the second they detect you and enemies now gain teleportation. But all nonsense aside, it was worth it...kind of... On to Clear Sky, the worst in the trilogy according to fans.
Also, funny story: Toward the end game, there is a little skirmish between Duty (Military) and Freedom (Anarchists). I had friendly relations with Duty but was neutral with Freedom, so I ended up just sitting in the middle watching both sides kill each other while running back and forth healing wounded fighters. While I was sitting down on the sidelines, a Monolith guy (Cultist) walked right behind me and blew my head off. Talk about Karma.

I installed Oblivion with some mods that modernize it a couple of days ago. Been playing The Shivering Isles dlc before doing the Oblivion main quest. This playthrough is inspired by a book I read in Skyrim about Sheogorath challenging other Daedric Princes such as Hircine. So in current game once I become the new Sheogorath I will challenge Mehrunes Dagon. But currently I am fully exploring the Shivering Isles. I am also using some mods that enhance the Mad God experience.
I also installed Fallout: New Vegas with mods that modernize the game.

CK III
Decided to drop back to Crusader Kings. Sadly, something went wrong. I lost all the saves from the previous PT. Nooooo, Eva! My cheerful beautiful queen.
I suspect the devs' patches have once more muck things up. The launcher failed to start. I had to spend an hour searching for solutions and implementing them.
The one that kick start the launcher was to delete every CK3 bootstrapper and launcher folders so the game will reinstall them.

Yay, after some digging online and random exploration I discovered one of the entrances to the Lost River. The river itself seems to be an acid that is heavier than the water here therefore making it a very hostile place, on top of that we have a new type of Leviathan to deal with:

Been playing my first 15 hours of Outcast: A New Beginning. Very fun so far, if you are ok with AA games. The best news about this game is that they kept the general vibe and the appeal of the story and characters very close to the original. The dialogues still have that same quirkiness to them, which is fun. I guess it comes across as a little oldschool these days but I like it nonetheless. Graphics are pretty decent for AA but what really makes this game shine is the world design. You really get the sense that you are moving through a lush alien environment. And moving through it is pretty fun, thanks to the jetpack, which lets you multijump, hover, zip above the ground and also adds a wingsuit to glide with. It can be a little frustrating at the very beginning when you haven't upgraded anything yet because only one or two charges is not really enough to get you anywhere but I recommend just upgrading battery power for it as soon as possibel. Once you have 4 (or all 5) of the charges, you are very mobile and movement is a lot of fun.
Speaking of upgrades, this is my biggest criticism for now: Unlike the original Outcast, this one has a lot of Ubisoft formula added on top of the story. There are heaps of quest markers for a bunch of repeating side activities (conquering enemy bases, two types of parkour trials, etc.) and each of them gives you resources for upgrades of your skills and equipment (there are like 10 different menus for all this). IMO it's a bit much but hey, at least the world looks good and is fun to move around in, so to me, it's fine. Just be aware, if you don't like this kind of map marker work in other games, this might get on your nerves.
Quick word on the UI, I already mentioned all the upgrade menus but visually, they are ok. What I don't like is there very weird idea of a quest log, which is completely integrated into the map. You click on one of the settlements, then you see the quests for that settlement and can go into different subquests. It's a bit convoluted IMO. On the positive side, one really nice thing is their glossary. The world of Adelpha has quite a large native vocabulary (just like it did in the first game). Now, when people talk to you, you can press shift and it will automatically show you the explanations of all the native terms the guy you are talking to uses in this sentence. Very convenient. Speaking of dialogue, voice over is pretty decent in english, animations are AA (so there are repeating gestures, etc) but I think it's good enuogh for immersion. Special shoutout to the music, which feels like an updated version of the very nice score form the first game (I think it was the same composer).
Performance is pretty good. My PC is not the latest model but it runs this fine. There seems to be a bit of a memory leak though. After a couple of hours of playing, performance will go down. Restarting the game helps. There are a lot of cutscenes which are all in 30FPS and once that memory leak kicks in they can stutter a bit. I also had 2 crashes in 16 hours. Hopefully, they'll patch it. I have seen worse games on release day for sure though.
All in all, it's a fun ride so far. Particularly if you liked the first one (or it's 2017 remake) you'll have fun here, too.

Dragon Age Exodus
I am running an alt world state, and visiting about once a week to lead up to Dreadwolf (I plan on fine-tuning my Dreadwolf canon, but "investigating" using my alt world state). I am using characters that gain me that most unseen content compared against my canon. I just finished Legacy in the mid-second act for the first time, which allowed Hawke to discuss the adventure and discoveries with her living mother. I checked-in with some of the other companions before heading out to do more questing, and thought I encountered a bug. Hawke visited Varric for the Friendly Concern dialogue quest, and Varric just trailed off and the cutscene abruptly ended. I have discovered that this is a well-documented variation. The game files didn't know what to make of my "lots of love" purple Hawke that slept with Isabela then Anders then Fenris then Merrill without committing to anyone. Hawke is still flirting with Isabela and Sebastian, keeping her membership current with the Blooming Rose, and I intend for her to have fun with Zevran and kiss Tallis in the next act. I know Sebastian is supposed to be programmed to refuse a partner with this kind of behavior, but I have heard there may be some wiggle room if the last "romance" was with a female companion. I'll get there eventually, but I can't say for sure whether this Hawke will have a tile for Sebastian or no-romance for the Keep.
Divinity Original Sin
My party defeated Balberith in the Phantom Forest. I had to do some more questing in the area after being soundly trounced when I first encountered him. My party was one level below he and his mob's level, which can be a big deal in this game. It still took a while, and I think the encounter may have bugged in my favor, but it was fun. My party is not super powerful, so the combat encounters can be challenging sometimes, even though I am only on Classic mode. My wand rogue (who is a Glass Cannon, and a Ranger with animal "companions," but otherwise no magic) was one-shotted by the demon, but she fell on the other side of the room from my other members. My axe and shield rogue (who has no magic, apart from some grenades) worked on the soul batteries, while Jahan (who has all five magic schools to level 3) buffed Madora (who has no magic) so she could tank the mob spawns. Jahan turned himself invisible to work his way into range to resurrect my wand rogue. Thankfully, the forest spirit's cage didn't count as an obstruction, and Jahan revived and ported the rogue over to him. After three of my party members were invisible, Balberith spent most of his turns gloating, casting mass fear, and taking an occasional swipe at Madora or a summon. But once the team was back together, the encounter resolved itself more smoothly.

Horizon Forbidden West pre-load started...with Starfield and Stardew Valley big updates queued. And I got DD2 pre-load coming tomorrow as well Why are so many things releasing at the same time???? I might have to uninstall some stuff to make some disk space on my 1TB by the end of today and I don't have that many things installed. But 4 games at 100+ gb might be too much. And speaking for 100+ GB game, I advanced SWTOR Shadow of Reven storyline a little bit. Started a pirate feud on Rishi with my JK. I also played GW2 a bit, moved to Living Season 4 and I'm half way the first episode.

I had swapped my 1TB to a 2 TB drive which was great could keep my favourite games installed all the time. When my PC died the guys who were fixing it decided to use the 1TB drive as the C:\ I had specifically asked them to call me when they found the problem as I'd probably upgrade the 1TB drive to a 2 TB drive and get a better brand. Yeah when and if I choose t oupgrade my PC next I'll likel ygiv eit a bigger SSD. I' mkin do ftempted to swap m y4TB hard drive fo ra 4 TB SSD because the files I have there aren' ttakin gtha tmuc hspac eup an dI could use more spac efo rm ymore advanced games.

Even GW2 has an update today! I removed Starfield, won't have to download the patch and I wasn't planning to check it out and I suspect most of my mods needs to be updated after patching. And unfortunately Starfield is not like Stardew Valley where updating mods after an update takes 5 minutes (only had to do 3 and everything was already available to download the day of the update). So I advanced my GW2 story a bit on my Lady Guardian, but not in the mood. I'm now in " I want to play my new release mode", but they don't release until the 21st.

Ghost Recon Wildlands
After finishing up with Ocurro decided to go after Barachevos. Which is again another zone I like and my general thought was that we were going to do one of the branches for Santa Blanca first before really moving on from there. Though we've ended up doing two security...and kind of curious I was thinking influence was the last one but we did actually hit Perrico first...which leaves Smuggling as the last one. Theme of the day, Co Op fun leading to new and unique tactical scenarios.
But first, since I almost forgot, I forgot...and probably not for the first time...what the El Emasario mission is. Keep on mixing him up with the blogger...for some reason. But his was the mission where he hung himself in his...mansion?...but was surrounded by both Unidad and SB troopers. This is one of my favorite set ups because I was like to wife 'oh watch this we can get them to fight each other'. And thus we did. Shot a Unidad gut and the SB and Unidad both opened fire. SB ended up winning which is certainly the prefference since that wouldn't risk a patrol. But love some of the set pieces in this game.
Off to Barachevos and another one of my favorite missions...this time at one of the mines as we were having to go off and interrogate the guy there to find out the location of his manager so we can interrogate him and then save him from Nidia's forces. Tough mission but love the sniping on this. First attempt we did pretty well clearing out the snipers and the alarms...but she missed a shot so the guy rabbited and we couldn't form a blockade at all in time so he got out. Next attempt though she had the bright idea of forming a blockade in the road to stop him. She discovered a truck and execavator which she put in the middle of the road to block his path. From there it was kind of one of those things where we didn't know how to proceed before going in there because should that have been the primary option or a backup? Think we decided, me half reluctantly, to go forth on the stealth approach...but I didn't mind at all being caught before hand. ANd we were. I missed a shot. The plan got a little complicated though because while we were caught we rapidly came to the conclusion that we had to get close enough to the objective to trigger the next objective before he would actually rabbit. That and we were far enough away where it was bringing in the vehicle reinforcements where we lobbed in grenades on them...which I was a little worried would blow up our little trap. So eventually I broke contact and rushed in under some fire, triggering the objective. Two vehicles showed up, more reinforcements...but long story short it stopped him.
But then of course forgot that the next stage of the mission was to make it to an area in time to not be shot by Nidia's people. SO no real time for prep work as we decided to rush in there with a pickup. Which also some crazy driving for wife but she got us there in one piece. Where we then swept through and got him free in one attempt.
Had fun with the bank vault mission of course...
I guess finally though to from what I remember the frustration started to build over the final two missions in Barachevos. At least a little. That and had to dust off my memory. But first mission in this way was the one where we had to hijack a money truck and park it in Nidia's garage to get shit started...or El Pulpo's. My memory told me that all you had to do was get it in the garage undected but you didn't have to sneak out undetected on the way. This was inaccurate though that is pretty realistic honestly. But we got caught when they saw a dead body. I had the bright idea though on our next attempt to get out of the truck and assume overwatch across the way. Yes, still had to be careful which required some coordination but this did give me the option to shoot the guards in the outer ring clearing the way while she got the ones behind the building.
Then to get El Pulpo out of dodge. Some communication breakdown as we couldn't decide on the car we had to go for at first and ended up getting in different cars at first...so he got away. But second attempt we managed to get it where I was able to get in the gunner seat of the hummer in order to pave his way.
Farcry 6
Actually made good headway in Valle de Oro with Maximas Montanzas and company. Just focussing on story missions today.
And went to one of the 'indoctrination' centers to rescue that doctor that Talia wanted me to go to. Which was kind of a fun mission as it did involve going after waves of enemies and what not.
Then the minister of propaganda and needing to go and deface all of her pictures. Which I know where this goes obviously and honestly Maria kind of has a point...it is juvenile. But it took me a while since it was a little bit of an obstacle course. When I went to the top of the crane helicopter showed up so I had to go zap him with my supremo but was a bit worried for like half a second that it would hit the top of it and get me but it didn't.
Then afterwards having to actually get Bicho's little communication towers set up through the back country in order for him to start being able to broadcast 'radio libertad'.

At this rate all future Bioware games will be half done and modders need to rescue it for free.

Hello, I took the time to collect me some very useful upgrades but, I didn't quite took good measures to prevent damage to myself from the acid River. The Propulsion Cannon is mighty useful in this part (something I found later) so don't discount it as you are seeking high level upgrades like a rocket booster + for the Prawn Suit:
