Lets just say I'm getting a lot of machine's whiptail in the face because I forget to dodge. I seem to only manage a successful dodge or roll when I'm trying to do something else.

Played some Horizon Forbidden East. I couldn't use the special heavy weapon in the tutorial boss battle, since I couldn't read the "how to use" while being trashed by the boss. I only discovered after the fight how to use it. Also, my dodge key is on a weird button and I always fail to use it because I'm expecting it elsewhere. I'll have to do some key remapping. Game is very pretty. Yea hit is I though tHZD was prett yand this definitel yfeels lik ean upgrade s ofar. Playin gon Stor yas that's my usua lwa yto pla ywit hm ydiasbilit ybut I haven' tfaced anything I couldn' thandle yet. mI a mstil in the firs tlevel though s oI'm no tholdin gm ybreath yet (though Alo ydid earlier given she did a spoo tof swimming getting from one poin tto another.)

Forbidden West
I made it through the introductory mission / prologue and have now begun the "explore everything" part of the game. It felt a little railroady so I'm glad it's done. Still, lots of info dumped on the player right off.
Spoiler - ties into HZD but includes info only speculated on before The prologue location is the remains of the Far Zenith HQ and makes pretty clear, despite not outright saying it, that the Odyssey mission wasn't destroyed. They just wanted Elisabet to think it was. Given that, it seems almost certain the Odyssey mission is the source of both infections. The only question remaining is for what purpose. Aloy and Varl made it to Meridian and she got to say hello to some old friends. One wasn't present but that's because this person is elsewhere and I should be finding them soon.
Some of the new mechanics are giving me fits, in particular the grapple thing. Too many keys to have to press at once.
Two things I am happy about are noted in the tutorials: first, there are enough skill points available in the game to max out all the skills (and there a lot of them to get, in 6 different trees) and while inventory space is limited, there is an overflow stash that is unlimited. My "grab-everything and save it for later" OCD is overjoyed.
Potential spoiler pics from prologue (due to who is there)
This is where I'm at now - no spoiler, just scenery
And this is how I got there (small spoiler due to engineering involved and active quest showing)
Taking a break for dinner, then will get back to it.

WotR: I made it to Drezen and have started the siege. Its a fun mission, though I forgot how buggy the turn based auto camera is in the fortress. Should clear that today but still deciding on going Angel/Aeon.

Forbidden West
I am still in the first settlement but am just about finished. As with the first game, oftentimes when you go back to turn in a quest more pop up so it pays to look around for the ! indicating a new quest is available. One of them landed me a new weapon.
The game also tells you when you can't progress a quest just yet, which I appreciate saving me from banging my head against an impassable wall.
One thing I may not finish is the mini-game called Machine Striker. I did fine with the first tutorial where you are basically guided to a win but the next practice one I had no clue what I was doing. Too many rules and strategies to learn at the same time I'm trying to figure out game controls. Just got a new one thrown at me, Wall Jump, which was way easier in Fallen Order! This one requires 3 keys be pressed in sequence - go, jump, pivot - and my fingers don't move like that very quickly. I was able to do it but between this and the grapple thing, I sense quite a bit of frustration in my future.
So far I'm enjoying it but it feels like an extension of the first game. Maybe once I get to the actual Forbidden West it will feel more like its own thing.
Final pic of the day - spoilered for who's in it - but I got a chuckle out of this line:

Ghost Recon Wildlands
Started off having connection issues abound. Got disconnected twice. First one was rather fun because we were playing the other day for a bit to and she was like 'wonder what happens if I fast travel when I am piloting a helicopter' and well no pilot and I careened to my death with a pathetic kind of Darth Vader sounding 'argh!'. Well this time it was my turn and she was the one who plumetted to her death. Second one was literally in the middle of a mission. Trying to think if I missed the guy or if I killed him and his body was seen but either way started a fairly major fire fight against about 20 sicarios. Then disconnected in the middle of the fire fight which left both of us to fend for ourselves. I did go down fairly quickly as the enemy had suroounded me but the AI team got me back in the fight and I slowly whittled them down until I was able to push out from my cover and win the fight.
Sniping in this game is fun. I think the stuff in Breakpoint is a bit more accurate. At least in terms of 'bullet drop.' Which I guess is a thing IRL but, while I am not expert, from my research it wouldn't drop that much even at the distances that you'd be dealing with in Wildlans/ Breakpoint. So Breakpoint not really having that much bullet drop is certainly pretty realistic. But there is a definite visceral thrill in 'doing the math' and trying to figure it out and then when you hit...the same viseral thrill of a dice roll. Of course getting over confident is also a thing and of course also still trying to maybe force things along to speed things along. Either way though I did miss a sniper shot at about 370 meters which got a base all ornery at us, but then for the life of me I just couldn't hit this one random dude no matter what. Probably should've taken the sniper unsurpressed.
Next up we were doing all of this in Mojocoyo...kind of one of the weirder missions/ maps in the region. Going after stockpiles of cocaine and then the buchon. On the way to the buchon's house though real interesting set piece happened. We were doing pretty well with the sniper and picking off the SB people around...but this Unidad chopper spoiled our fun. So essentially long story short we ended up starting a four way war between us, the rebels, Unidad, and SB. Wifey summoned rebels and shot out a rebel cage. Called in a mortar strike. And in the middle of this when she took a pot shot one of the Unidad soldiers ran up the stairs at us where I shot him. Eventually though we decided, my idea, that...well she wanted to retreat...but I thought that with all of this chaos on the ground as long as we stuck to the perimeter we could avoid the patrols and complete the objective. We did, even losing the Unidad patrol status...all that stood between us was two sicarios in the room which we put down like real spec ops bad asses.
From there captured Antonio. His mission was fun. Took us three times. First he killed himself, then she killed him. But we got him. Probably one of the more brutal Bowman moments both making him snort cocaine and threatening to do so till his brain turned to mush and then the whole thing with Antonio's wife and 'looking both ways before crossing the street'. Cold.

Yes, yes!!!! I finally managed to upgrade the Seamoth depth to 900M and that allowed us to reach the second main Alien facility on the planet which is the disease research center. This place seems that it saw better days and it might have something to do with that Sea Dragon bones as that egg inside might have been hers. We see how fast the sickness has progressed so we decide to work faster to resolve the situation. Why is that corner shining blue?

I played Dragon's Dogma 2 for a bit today. Made by Arisen Karima and her path Archibald -Archie-. We made it to the capital for now, which actually skip quite a bit of the map if you go by cart. So now I have to backtrack to explore a lot of the map I guess. And I now have a big dilemma: play Horizon Forbidden West or Dragon's Dogma 2.

Been playing Oblivion and New Vegas. In Oblivion I completed The Shivering Isles expansion and after finding all of the Madness and Amber Matrix Ore. I will go back to Cyrodiil and do the main quest. Also I am using a very old mod that makes all of the unique items like Dawnfang scale with the player each time they level up. As for New Vegas I am idolized in Goodsprings after repelling an attack by the Powder Gangers. Was accepted by Primm after liberating their town from the aforementioned Powder Gangers, and went to the gangs base which was a prison and wiped out everyone except the inmate that used to be a sheriff. Was able to get the NCR to pardon the former sheriff, and had him installed as Primm's new sheriff. On my way to the Mojave Outpost I met a companion from a mod called Willow after getting back her shotgun and teddy bear she became a full fledged companion. At the Mojave Outpost I also met Cass. I did a quest for Ranger Jackson and a quest for the sniper Ghost. Met a member of Caesar's Legion at Nipton. Went to Novac to get information on the guy who shot me. Did the quest for Boone and got him as a companion. Boone is perfect for my sniper.

Forbidden West
Found more stuff to do in the first settlement area, including the first Hunting Grounds, but eventually finished everything I could and then moved on with the main quest. Cleared the first bandit camp (which aren't called bandit camps but something else that is spoilery) and located the first Tallneck but haven't reached it (plan to head there next). I haven't found a Cauldron yet, but Aloy keeps mentioning it every time I come across a new machine she can't override. Maybe the map reveal will help me locate it.

HFW I took off VSync during fiddling with settings which are all on high. There're slight hesitations in the intro cutscene but nothing much during normal play. First thing after the official intro, I hiked off in the opposite direction instead of the suggested destination. Found a SQ. Swimming isn't bad. I noticed that there is an option to brighten up the underwater depths and prolong underwater duration for players who might feel claustrophobic in such surroundings. The grapple is fun. I'm not having any problems with the controls so far. I put the game on Story difficulty but I think I may kick it up further because I'm finding the fights tame. 🤣 Not sure if I would go ultra hard for this one like I did the last. I only went ultra hard after two PTs of the first, sure of the combat and had accumulated a lot of resources which went alarmingly fast for the UH PT.

there is an option to brighten up the underwater depths and prolong underwater duration for players who might feel claustrophobic in such surroundings I totally turned on that option. Not so much because I'm claustrophobic....I just have unpleasant memories of Geralt and Kassandra getting lost (and sometimes stuck) in underwater caves. I did manage to get Aloy stuck in a rock crevice and had to reload to the previous auto-save to get out. Only other snafu was one of the crate puzzles - the crate landed on its side when I pushed it off a ledge so I couldn't do anything with it.

And I now have a big dilemma: play Horizon Forbidden West or Dragon's Dogma 2. I read that there're issues with DD2; performance; stuttering and crashes. save problems quest problems / bugs Also read that there's a cash shop / MTX in DD2? Also a gamer was banned for 24 hours by Denuvo for trying to fiddle with save files while creating a new character. This is hearsay so no confirmation on the ban. Maybe go for FW and put DD2 on the backburner while Capcom fix it. If they would.

I don't have issues with the performance, it dip in the big city, but nothing that make it unplayable. I know it dip because I have an FPS counter on. No issues with saves, works like it did in Dark Arisen and haven't had any quests issues so far. And the "MTX" thing is way overblown, it's the deluxe edition items with rift crystal, wakestone and ferrystone, which can all be obtained in-game. And nothing something I would spend money on.

But I will use it if I find myself strugglin gtoo much. Managed to find Erend earler jus tnow so met up with him. Takin gdow nmachines lik ea champ wit hhis hammer unti lone of them ambushed him. Luckily for him Aloy was there to finis hthem off like the machine hunter she is.
