Forbidden West
I've finally made to the titular area. No spoilers but just want to say that Plainsong and Riverhymn, the whole Utaru aesthetic, is absolutely gorgeous.
I had a bit of a glitch with the armor dying setup but it got over its stupid and finally allowed me to dye some armor. This was the screen, and despite having everything required, the 'buy' button was inactive and the game told me I didn't have enough resources.
But I fiddled with a bit and it finally decided I did have what I needed after all. This is the Frozen Wilds dye. Not sure if it was a pre-order bonus or regular option. Got to climb one of these things and, unlike with Shepard, it didn't collapse on me when I was done.
I am mostly just wandering, seeing what's out there. I did get to the Tallneck and now know where to find the first cauldron. Won't get there for a while though since it's in the direction of the main quest that I am avoiding. Next I plan to hit another bandit site but who knows what I might find before I get there. I am hoping to run into you-know-who at one of them.
Because there is unlimited room in the stash I set the game to auto-loot when possible. Last look I had about 150 rocks in there.

I think go to dye merchant at major settlement, make / buy dyes wit the plants harvested and then use the dye potion on the armour. I have not done this yet so I'm guessing the later part.

HFW So I tried to get Aloy to walk and ended up rolling her into traps. 🤣 After that, I tried to get her to do it in safer places but she never does it so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. So I tried the melee pit but it's a bit too early since Aloy does not have the build up blast whatever it is Have to wait another couple of levels. Have not gone to the hunting grounds yet. Oh yes, apparently there is a bug for the melee pit when I was doing a search regards the melee pits. The quest will continue to show even though it's completed. I did climb up two of the watch towers and picked up the lenses. One cannot be accessed because of a missing ability. Found a deep pool that needs underwater breathing apparatus so Aloy can't get through it yet. Also found some reddish flower stuff on walls that is again a missing ability. I'm hitting them so they'll show up on the map. Image

Ghost Recon Wildlands
Wrapping up Mojocoyo and getting in a few convoys and resource side missions.
The final mission in Mojocoyo is always an interesting one since its one of the few that does not involve getting the Buchon but following up on information that you get through interrogating the Buhcon in question. Which tracked us down to...well for lack of a better word...drug fortress. Over twenty of them, mulitple sniper watch towers. And we started working around things and started sniping the snipers and what we could get our hands on...but we did our job perhaps a little too well because they were in this little compound with walls and we were outside. So essentially we had to figure out how to get them to charge us and come up with a plan on how to set up an ambush. Eventually what we decided was there was a rock formation off the road which provided me some cover and then the main watch tower where wifey was. She called in rebel support and then a mortar strike on the enemy mortar which...thanks to video game logic...resulted in them coming out to play in probably squad strength. Bit annoying because we forgot to deal with some of the snipers do dealing with them and then when I focussed back on the near field there was a lot of sicarios engaging us. Fired pretty randomly but we started to take them down, yet somehow they managed to flank us taking me down briefly. Still after wifey got me back in the fight we dealt with the few stragglers in the region but even then they did not all come out to get us...so we had to go in...but by this time it really helped even the odds so we swept in.
Next up off to PN Agua Verde with the artel resort. Just a lot of intel gathering so far but the one mission we did was the mission with us ruining the Cartel casino by blowing up all their slot machines and gambling stuff. Fun though since as we were going up found some high ground with the helo I was flying with but there was sicarios up there with us so we had to get into a bit of an extended fire fight as they just came up again and again and again after us. Number 2 Nomad made a fun comment as we were coming up on the casno he was like 'ok we don't have to drop bodies here just wreck their stuff'...after we just spent like five minutes dropping bodies including sniping people within the bounds of the casino.

Wow, what an amazing tree that I just found. This section is so beautiful and full of resources. I see that it keeps going down so, I made a plan to do a risky proposition. Come here with the Prawn Suit and work towards mining some minerals that are in that deep and hot place:

And I now have a big dilemma: play Horizon Forbidden West or Dragon's Dogma 2. I read that there're issues with DD2; performance; stuttering and crashes. save problems quest problems / bugs Also read that there's a cash shop / MTX in DD2? Also a gamer was banned for 24 hours by Denuvo for trying to fiddle with save files while creating a new character. This is hearsay so no confirmation on the ban. Maybe go for FW and put DD2 on the backburner while Capcom fix it. If they would. Yea hI think sticking with Forbidden West is the smart thing atm as they'er already patching this up asnd right now it's running even nicer than it did at launc hs othe yma yhave already fixed thos ecutscen eissues I am looking forward to trying and plasying DD2 as it does look nice. But I'll wait until that stuff dies down firs tand I've played the first though I've probabl ygo tht espac et odownload it as Steam has it listed as only taking up 60GB so maybe once I've finished what I've started on my other games. I'll give them a go.

Where do you access the dying option?
It's only available at certain merchants, called Dyers. The one I found is in Plainsong. If you have unlocked the dye designs and have enough dye plants in your inventory, then you can dye various armors. I put the Frozen Wilds color on the armor I'm wearing and then dyed a couple other sets different colors too. You can see in the picture I posted that I had 4 options available for that armor.

So, I have run into a weird bug. Normally on PC you have to hold the 'select' option to choose new skills. I like that because just clicking on them will bring up what they are and you can review them before deciding whether to pick it or not. But now, after I did some key remapping for the Silent Glider trial (which is more a trial of key mashing than actual skill ) I can no longer preview skills. As soon as I click on one that is available, it's selected. I don't know wtf happened. I only remapped Grapple Jump and Glide activation. Resetting the controls to default didn't fix the issue so I'm not sure what to do now.
Figured it out....I apparently changed one of the 'hold' options to 'toggle' in the menu (I don't remember doing that). I put it back and now this is fixed. Phew!

Far Cry 6 Fucking soldadosCastillo’s forces ambushed the meeting of the three freedom fighter factions. There were…losses.
A new PoS has emerged. A businessman, and Dani was asked to help hack in to his Yaran operations to expose him around the world. He had signal jammers blocking the attempt, so taking them out would help. It was actually more fun than I thought it would be. The first few were pretty basic, but then it became low (and then mid) level parkour and finally wingsuiting or parachuting on to the jammers control platform. Good times. Nearing the end game, I think. UPlay is saying I’m 90% complete, which must surely be the main story only, since I haven’t done anywhere close to half the side stuff.

Forbidden West
I cleared the next bandit camp (sadly, no you-know-who ) then headed for the cauldron. It was a bit longer than I would have liked but it was ok. Planted some traps and blew up the end boss before I knew it. Was so excited I ran into one of my traps that hadn't gone off.
Finally did the next main quest, which I really didn't enjoy. Along with Sylens being Sylens, the mechanics of it are just awful. Too much platforming and button mashing manuevers in a dark, maze-like environment, and then a big wut da fuq at the end.
Afterwards, with the tool unlocked to remove the red flower crystal things, I went back to all the ones I'd located and gave them a good burning.
Also ran into another old friend (seriously, did no one stay home after the end of game one?) and helped her with some hunting and tracking. That quest is on hold until later though.
Pics!

HFW I miss the whistle-to-attract-enemies. I'm not a fan of throwing stones. Picked up the first scavenger contract and got the first Tallneck. Every time I kill an animal, I apologise even though they're not real animals. Oooo, Aloy can glide now. Sure beats climbing down after all that climbing up. Mobs with shields are cheaters. Rather than use smoke bombs, I electrified them with traps. I've a mind to open up the entire map without doing a single main mission but I think I'll do one every time a large zone is opened to get the missing abilities. Image I rather like this armour though I'm going to change the colour. I've seen one pic that gave me the impression like she's wearing bananas. Ick to me. I've say though. Her hair design is so uniquely beautiful but will be a chore to put it all back again after a wash.

Far Cry 6
I really have to stop shooting people in the middle of finishing a quest. Finished Big Papi in Little Yara which finished up getting Big Papi after having to defend him...and his package vital to the future of Libertand ended up being...'candies' if you know what I mean. And this was a little annoying between him and Juan so I shot him. Went back to Camp Maximas in order to complete the bandidos mission and noticed he was not on the list. So I had to go back because it did not compete...and I had to listen to his entire speech all over again. *sigh*.

Ok, so we decided to let go of the fear and went through with our planning and, we got the needed crystals in the volcanic area but, one of those blasted Warpers caused is the death and we now have to travel towards the area to recover not only the supplies we dropped, but the Prawn Suit itself and I had to drive my Seamoth towards the point of the volcano and start a daring plan:

Far Cry 6 Dani is totally going to die of cancer from all the PG240 that she has been soaked in. We're definitely near the end.
Secrets from the revolution of '67 are being revealed. Heroes were villains. Other heroes murdered the villains. Dani is being warned about becoming a villain.
Basically - insert Dark Knight meme here.
Multiple factory's have been destroyed and my EMP rifle is my new best friend. This game really is light on a GPU. I know a 4090 shouldn't struggle (and it isn't), but everything is maxed out, 4K res, no DLSR or FSR and 60 fps is rock solid with GPU utilisation hovering around the 50-55% range. The fans aren't even turning on.

Yeah i tfel tso much moer tactica lluring a machin eoivre t ome in the bushes and then sticking m yovreride in i tforcin g itt othen do my bidding in Zero Dawn. That's on ething I'm missin gplawyin gForbidden West .Means I hav eto b eextra sneaky if I want oovreride something now. Th emethod for ovreriding is no different thank god just how to ge taroun dt ousin git on a machine. As yo uhav eto be clever and moe rcreativ ein terms o fgetting itto you. Other than a couple o fchargers I haven't overridden any yet but I did earlier learn the location o fm yfirst cauldron. So i'm expecting to b eable to start overriding some soon

Forbidden West
A played this a bit today. I saved some miners, got a nice meal and climbed some towers. Oh and bashed machines too. Always.
Dragon's Dogma 2
I played this a lot. Unlocked a new vocation which I thought would be my main vocation, but it doesn't really fit. So I decided to go back to one I didn't like after understanding how it actually works. And now I love it. Warrior for Life!!! Super sturdy, hit like a truck (can charge like a truck too!).
I went back to remove the fog of war around area I already travelled around. Ended up doing escort quests, saved some people, might have killed none-bandits people too (oops, not sure what happened there). Found the "thief guild village" and killed a lots of monsters. Golems, ogre, cyclops, harpies, gobos. Dragon's Dogma is still the best D&D LARPing simulator out there!
Made some discoveries too, there is some nice vista in this game and lots of hidden things.

Forbidden West
I cleared another bandit camp, then decided to forge ahead with the next main quest, mostly because I was hoping yet another tool might unlock. Alas, it was not to be but I did get MAJOR STORY SPOILERS a cool new base of operations to hang out in after rebooting GAIA and merging MINERVA into her. Finally something went right! I find it ironic that the whole first game, Aloy is looking for her mother, and now she finally finds her and nothing about it is mentioned. But, they had much more pressing things to discuss. Varl and a new character named Zo tagged along on the pre-base mission, which was the second cauldron. I was amused at all the falls and spills Aloy took in front of an audience. Good for them to know she fails sometimes, but still keeps going. This was taken on the way in: i.imgur.com/qn6vmdj.jpgView from the other side This main mission spawned 3 more, which I promptly ignored. Instead headed off in search of adventure and found a Tenakth settlement, Arrow-something. Helped out a guy with some hunting, and ran into an interesting group of oddballs who pass the time machine racing. They wouldn't talk unless Aloy beat them in a race so, of course she did. I have a sneaky suspicion who their masked leader might be but I probably won't find out if I'm right for a good long while. I liked the view when I paused the game so just took a screenshot. After winning the race I headed back east to Plainsong. A couple sidequests had popped up as a result of finishing the previous main quest so picked those up and took care of the first one. This landed me a new bow that uses adhesive - will have to try it out sometime.
I think I know what I need to get all those metal flowers to open and I'm hoping I'm wrong, because if I'm right it's going to be a long, long time until I can open them up.
