Yay, we finally found the Primary Containment Facility and it is so great. I wonder what we will inside and man was that journey long and confusing. This facility is also amazing and the 4 portals really open up to amazing places, time to get ready to enter into the pool:

FW Ok. Not fond of the bat or the burrowing tortoise. Both are bad news. Then there's the Loch Ness Monster hanging around at the coast. I've to wonder though. What's the point of hanging upside down for the bat? It's a machine. What stuff does it do upside down? 🤣 I landed a purple piece of armour. I don't like the design. I didn't check the name but I think it's one of the Plainsong armour with a funny half hat. Luckily, there's transmog in the game. I also dye the armour I want. Went for green. Image

A thought has occured to me since I am basically playing two Ubisoft games at the same time its something that I've noticed...Ubisoft really does make a lot of effort to put in some really thick main stories. Its not always easy to notice since there is also a lot of side content in Ubisoft games...and a lot of side content that is more or less...ambient is the wrong word but you have recurring objectives you can do, radiant, that's the word, so the side content in thse games are technically limitless. So hard to notice. Plus a lot of this main content is probably things that are either A. 'side content' quality as in the case of some of the stuff in Farcry or B. just random missions like in Wildlands. Despite all this though its still quite noteworthy and noticable given that with Breakpoint, Vahalla, Wildlands, and Farcry been making more of an effort to focus on the main story for various reasons...though ironically its also becoming annoying that of these four Wildlands side content is the hardest to ignore. Yes, it is enjoyable and notable in how important and fun it is to the game...but that can make it annoying if you just want to focus on the story for various reasons. Far Cry 6Speaking of been kind of pushing it off because again this stuff is annoying but finally got around to doing the quest in FC with the drinking binge with Bicho as he mopes about Maximas Montanzas being on the outs. Not much to talk about...just annoying. From there though did one of my favorite side quests where the YouTube streamer influencer gets blown up in tanks and then his shoes land. Then the mission where Talia freaks out and shoots what's her face... Then the mission where we rescue Paolo and then get poisoned by Dr. Edgar Reyes where we have those really weird hallcinations from a story perspective...I am going through all this because I know I did more of a deep dive about all this last time. But then the thought did occur to me as Talia gunned down...what's her face. Knowing the things I know after the fact about everything that was going on contextually, and gets revealed during the quest, there is a lot of interesting tragedy and nuance which is happening here which manages to create a fascinating story beat which is then stuffed full of delicious irony. Viviro is tobacco which cures cancer, or at least is a cancer treatment. And yet Tobacco and smoking is one of the leading causes of cancer. What's her face mentions it makes her 'skinny and strong'. PG 240 X is a fertilizer which helps the production of Viviro...but also a poison the regime is selling to third parties and also is dangerous to the workers. Its just so, ironic. Because evil regime and the American reporter of the piece does point out that this story does sound like utter Bull crap and given everything its easy to imagine that Castillo is just entirely gaslighting everyone...AND YET there is evidence it actually works, at least for awhile given what happens to Castillo and his backstory. So yeah, this game does have its problems but still manages to have a great badguy and tell a pretty good yarn. Ghost Recon WildlandsKind of early on the theme was running around from Unidad as they are really active down in Espirtu Santo. During a run to get more mission intellgence they showed up and started dueling with us coming into the building we were in. So we did the usual tactics of holding a little pat and sending in rebels to get a four way war going. But the thing was we couldn't just bail out, like the first firefight we got into after killing a Santa Blanca loyal priest, so we had to stay in there. And then just a string of objectives, first the mission intel, then skill points, then a convoy showed up. Well wifey called in a mortar strike on the convoy since it stopped itself and from there we rushed in. Even got the maximum amount of resources from the convoy somehow. Up next one of my favorite set pieces, again handled different, going after the gold cache in the north hidden in the mountain that collapses on you...along with more intel and a Cartel plane. Well usually I just sort of rush in with the squad and bring as much firepower as possible. This time me and her got up on a building on site and did the usual thing where we pretty much were able to systametically snipe our way through the map. Next up after that the mission where we steal Sueno's bible. This time shd had the idea to take them in the rear and this time, as per a lot of these combats, got them going and they started charging us even though we had the high ground. Things got a little bit interesting at times but we were able to contain the forces coming in at us also this time I used the ACR in it instead of the MSR for its higher ROF to suppress the enemy. Off to the other great setpiece in the zone. Dealing with the assasination of her top LTs. Some of our most dopest moments and tactics were used here. First bit we were able to shoot a lot of them via sniping them across the way. But then the last time required some careful timing...so it was a situation where the last two guys were initially hidden from us so I went in...but then so I thought. They kept moving and by the time I got there they were back together and if I advanced they'd see me. She stayed in overwatch though so what we did was I had her call the shot and time it and then at one before she shot went around the corner with the ACR and took out my guy just as she took out hers. Then second bit of the mission again kind of went in and tightened the noose a little...but in the end went into the compound to get to one of the LTs...shot him...but then realized I was about to be blown by two more of the LTs coming in on me. Sure enough. So this forced us to engage them a little early. Wifey was very quick on the draw with another mortar strike while I killed the two targets. But one of the LTs was able to get away in a car. But wifey found her own car and was able to tear off in pursute going right past me. Somehow she caught up to him and managed to knock him off course killing him. Two of the more BA things I have yet seen.

Picked up Halo MCC dirt cheap on spring sale, never played any Halo game. Started with Reach as it was suggested to play games chronologically. Finished few missions and I like it so far. There are some cheap tactics and enemy placements, but nothing rage worthy, at least on Normal difficulty.

I saw in the upgrade menu a button that says "Apply Look" is that Trans Mog if so how do make it work? Equip the armour you want Aloy to wear, then go to the armour with the design you like, click Apply Look. That's it. Go to the Dye Merchant and dye that favourite armour. There's no custom dyes. As in you select the colours you want to mix. The colours for each armour is already predetermined.

Forbidden West
Finished up the Wound in the Sand and the follow-up quest. Had to choose between two people even though I didn't want to, so I picked status quo. I found the Tallneck in the region but there's no way to get up to it yet (thinking maybe I have to use one of the flying mounts later on?). Then I headed off to the nearest main quest location, which turned out to be another Tenakth stronghold. So of course instead of being able to just waltz in and take what I need, I now have to go aallllll the way to the north side of the map to do them a favor. There is a collector of black boxes hanging out there though, so I traded the two I had for some legendary resources. Unfortunately, nothing I needed for a job, but I might need them later on.

FW Ah ha! The final obstacle is removed! Picked up the diving mask. I have to say I was vastly annoyed on the way to LV because I kept running into sites that required the diving mask. That's all in the south btw where there's a lot of lakes. I decided to complete LV although I can simply put the MQ on hold and do other stuff. It's no fun having to hide in seaweed and having no equipment to fight with. I hope they change it in the final installment. LV completed, I decided to back track to all the places where the diving mask is required, then I'll open up the entire map. So the relics Aloy has been picking up from ancient buildings. They're image projectors that can be played at LV.

Farcry 6
Finished off the Maximas Montanzas arc. The one mission where Dani proceeds to get poisoned again by Dr. Reyes pumping more poison into the room she is and and she goes onto halucinate, survive, and kill him. Though this was an interesting if maybe a little overplayed of a set piece sneaking in there and then dealing with a lot of soldiers come rushing in. Oh though for some weird reason it seems the enemies in that region got really tanky. I was trying to sneak in at first but then shot the guy and pretty sure it was a head shot with the draganov...and he did not die...the health bar did not even move for a little bit at all. And then round after round went out and nothing really happening, I was hitting him, but his health bar just wasn't budging. So he ended up breaking for an alarm and I went in switching to my loud AR to try to kill him, figuring the gig was up. By the time I got him the alarm did indeed go off already.
From the next bit though...I might be giving Castillo too much credit here but it is maybe worth noting that he actually seems to believe his own propaganda and his own statement of 'Truth or Lies?' Again huge fan of Giancarlo in general and Castillo is my favorite role of his so its possible I am being blinded by bias but most fascist dictatorships are known for actively lying to their people the whole 'the victories are getting closer to Berlin thing.' But he went on national TV and confirmed the death of Edgar Reyes which would've been a huge blow for the regime and should make people wonder about their stability if they can't even keep a good 'personal friend' safe. Now in the interst of being fair he might've had no choice...but he has actually been consistently portrayed as being brutally honest with the people around him. Giving them the choice, Truth or Lies, and when they say Truth he always gives them the truth...at least as he understands it. Its again a really weird and nuanced thing for a fascist regime to go through because Castillo is arrogant and his regime is horribly repressive. But he will always tell you the truth.
Speaking of onto Esperenza and I was continuing to be curious because the game mentions you being in restricted territory while flying on the wing suit but they don't actually shoot at you. They do in Esperenza. Also very annoyingly since this got me killed as my wife informed me they also do not allow you to parachute within the cities bounds. Grumble. THough the reason they do this is obvious and annoying as I played through it. They want you to go around the maze that is the city and fight through the waves of SF soldiers in one giant block by block set piece. The rule of cool almost justifies it because if you could just fly everywhere with the wing suit, or a helo, that would rmove a lot of the drama of what they were trying to do...but its still super annoying.
Got to the mission where we went through to try and assinate Castillo and run into Diego instead. I remember this mission being a lot harder, much like the up top mission ironically enough, but I still got through it. Hmm maybe I'm thinking of a later mission now that I think about it. Still died a couple of times trying to steal Castillo's ride.

FW Ok, I want to slap the salvage contractors. First one hem and haw and gave out the contracts piece by piece. The second gave a bunch and then said she wanted one more item because she took a walk and was inspired by a group of machines. I seriously doubt their armour is going to be any good.

This week I started playing Chained Echoes. What a nice game so far; feels like a warm blanket and a walk down memory lane. Low pixels game with a great story and lots of team mates to play with. It has a great crafting system and a nice twist on how to farm mats etc to sell and use for upgrading gear. So far I might be 1 third into act one maybe?
An impression:

Headed north to do a thing. Overrode a Bristleback so I wouldn't have to walk there and got there quicker because I didn't stop everywhere along the way. Met up with the contact, went to the meeting and was rudely brushed off. So, time for plan B - when talking doesn't work, blow stuff up.
I thought I took a screenshot of the Bulwark entrance but apparently I did not. Got this pic instead:
Once Aloy got what she wanted, it was time for some side-quests. First up was checking on a hunter off to do his version of the Proving during a snowstorm. She found him finally, and helped him get to the top of the mountain. This photo is not what it appears to be. And, the trip back down the mountain - much faster!
I swear I hit the photo mode capture button, not F12, so I don't know why it is showing the interface.

Ghost Recon Wildlands
Bit of a busy and productive day as we really made a signifant amount of progress in a short amount of time despite us getting off to a bit of a rocky somewhat hard to believe start.
Started off going after La Santera and it was a bit of a bratty mission. Got into a bit of a firefight after rushing through and trying to peg two heavies who were moving, but the thing is if they moved too much more they would've been seen anyways so it really was encouraging us to move. And we missed. Helicopter was called in and all the bad guys started charging in after us. We were holding our own at least somewhat well but then out of nowhere, I swear one of the most bizzare things I have seen, but just random red spawned right in front of me afte rthey called in vehcile reinforcements. Well didn't last too long and then there was a whole crap ton of baddies waiting for me and waiting for her to get to me. So she didn't last long. Second attempt it spawned us way the hell on the other side of the base away from our nice high ground. I did have the rather interesting idea, I thought, since she insisted on going back to where we started well I was going to stay down at what looked like the main entrance and when we were able to snipe the rest of the people I'd start a fight, summon rebel reinforcements, and then draw their fire to me. Well I knew this would be frought with problems and sure enough A. despite her not engaging and her not being seen when I started my action the enemy still went after her and B. the rebels didn't do much. So she went down but I was able to stay in the fight enough to have her respawn and then we swept through the base.
Up next due to the 'time critical nature' of Ramon Feliz's stuff decided to go after him instead and now I know why I keep on confusing him with El Emisario in Ocuro. He too dies. But is killed by the Cartel. Well we track his killer and then track the hardrive to an SB outpost. Kind of a similar deal as to the last one except there was an SB LT in the AO so wifey had the idea of going after him while I stayed in on overwatch. Well as she was doing this I knew it was a risk but I had the bright idea to shoot someone right near other people, so they woke up and the LT rabbited on us but after dealing with the immediete threat I put bullets in both the cars across the way giving him no way out. She went down though just as she got to him so I had to stay in the fight and did so enough clearing a good deal of the base before she respawned, we then got the LT still. Oh forgot almost that we had fun trying to get the killer of Ramon he was actually on the road and I put the helo down right in the way since wife was having a hard time hitting him...he ran me over. But she just managed to put enough bullets into his car to stop him, dragged him back to us, stowed him in the helo before healing me.
Then since we were on the same adventure off to hunting down La Plaga. Another neat little mission for me but was curious how it would go with just the two of us. Went in a little carefully, took a couple of pot shots at some guards, then made our way into a side door in the building on the left. Communication broke down I guess or something because we made a little noise on the way in which woke up everyone on the right side building, and there were people with the building on us. So I mentioned she should watch our rear while I engage the people across the way...well she didn't and someone snuck right up on us and almost killed me. Getting La Plaga was surprsingly easy. I fell a little behind because kept riding into the side of the tunnel and there was clipping issues, so wifey ended up in the lead and ended up dying. But I was right behind and actually held up quite nicely. He was hiding in a building on the left, engaged the immediete surrounding sicarios, threw in a flash bang to stun him, killed him...then neatly went down the row all pop pop pop like three in a row as I cleared the room.
Aside from this though these missions actually give us a lot of skill points and a lot of resources so actually made significant progress in levelling. Like starting to really turn the tide in that aspect. Unlocked the 'ranged elite' skill for weapons that gives you better accuracy at range. The healing drone. And...one of the other ones which now escapes me. But this is really important in a way because at this stage I am resonably sure that now I have got the base line skills I want so I can just start levelling whatever.
Fun anecdote though was watching Seal Team earlier tonight, because it seems its a contractual obligation of mine to watch Seal Team while playing Ghost Recon, and interesting bit came up. While Jason engaged an RPG gunner in the episode the camera switched to 'down his sights' and showed the reticle of his red dot scope thingy. Always thought it looked a little odd but then in Wildlands I have a lot of the same setup as he does right now and I checked and the reticle actually looked largely the same. Kind of fascinating.

FW Completed the third Hunting Ground trials which is Sheerside. The trickier trial for this one is the Shredder Gauntlet which is akin to Jai Alai. Basically, you have to throw four times at the target. Each time you throw, the disc spins back. To catch it, Aloy has to be in its path. She will catch it automatically if she is. Once she catches it, simply throw it again at the target. On the fourth throw, the build up energy on the target will explode. Repeat on another target and the trial is done. The Plasma Blast trial isn't difficult either. The aim is to build up the energy to full on the Rollerback. The little circle will fill. Next, make sure the pink bar next to the circle is filled as well by shooting another couple of bolts. After that, don't bother shooting any more. Just wait for the build up to explode. This will take a few seconds so the rollerblade will be rushing at Aloy. Simply dodge and wait. After that, repeat a second time on the Rollerblade. Both the Shredder Gauntlet and Plasma weapon can be bought from the Sheerside Hunting Ground vendor. I also completed the coastal Cauldron up north. I was mistaken about the metal flower lock but this cauldron definitely needs the diving mask because of the water puzzles. I'm favouring the sharpshooter bow because I like attacking from long distance. I always get on the high ground if it's available and head shot the mobs. The bow I got has a 30 metre range. image

The HUD has to be closed first before taking the image. Maybe you forgot.
For photo mode? That's silly. No other game I've used photo mode in requires that.
Well, I don't know. I always close the HUD. I'm not using the default image capture with the photo mode. I'm using another software image capture after halting cutscenes, etc with photo mode so I always close the HUD because the program will capture the HUD as well.

Mus tadmit Forbidden West is moer spohisticated than I thought these quests sure take quite a while to get through give nthey seem to be multi part as well. I've also noticed Alo yseems to ge taccompanied a lot more on quests in Forbidden West as well compared with Zero Dawn. Only time she seems to be alone is when wondering around in between quests. I'm still enjoying it though

Cyberpunk 2077 has a free trial allowing 5 hours of play time on the ps5. I played for a bit. It was....ok. I might get the game at a much later date. Earlier today, playstation released the Stellar Blade demo. It was good. Will preorder
