I swear I hit the photo mode capture button, not F12, so I don't know why it is showing the interface. The HUD has to be closed first before taking the image. Maybe you forgot. If you are talking about Forbidden West, there is a button you can press to "hide the interface" (I think it's the Spacebar by default)

Yes, I know. I've just never seen a game before where you have to hide it so it doesn't show on photo mode pics. I understand it showing on screenshots but photo mode is supposed to ignore it.

Dragon's Dogma 2, but there is no "take picture" button in photo mode, you use Steam/console screenshot button after setting things and disabling the photo mode UI.

FW Have you seen such cute monkeys? They jabbered, they gibbered, they throw fire balls. I was getting a Tallneck in an abandoned village and two monkeys were camped at the top. Ha, the sharpshot bow took care of them without Aloy anywhere in range of their fireballs. Caught several salmon in a lake. They were kind of trapped and bunched up in a small area.

FW Have you seen such cute monkeys? They jabbered, they gibbered, they throw fire balls. I find the Burrowers awful cute too, until they gang up on me and start spitting acid/fire/bombs/what-have-you.
Toughest machines I've run across are the Fire Clawstrikers (though using the tearblast arrow equivalent worked pretty well to get the health down) and the Fireclaws. They are both just raging, jumping infernos that are hard to slow down. The adhesive bombs help but don't last long. Maybe I need to tie them up with a Ropecaster? I got to use my Plasma Boltthrower thingie today - worked great on machines weak to plasma but reloading it is tricky.
As for what I did today, after getting frustrated with the Seek and Strike melee test at the Bulwark, I did another of the side quests there then started back to the chief's place. Took a couple detours before getting back on the Bristleback and riding the rest of the way. Of course things didn't go exactly as planned but it all worked out and Aloy was able to pick up subordinate module number 2 and gain another ally for the fight. Doing so cleared up some holo projections around the stronghold so she was able to hear what they really said. Of course picked up some new side quests after the main event was completed. Working on the first one now, which is looking like it might have a not so happy ending.

FW You know they say. There's always a bigger monster. I found the Slaughterspine right next to a drone along with five Leaplasher in a canyon. Fortunately, I approached from the heights in the north. Shooting from the mountain top, took out two kangeroos. Then I nitpick the monster until the hp went down to half whereupon it went to hide at the other side of the canyon where it couldn't be shot at. Think again, Slaughterspine. I went to the nearby platform where the drone stops at and kept shooting the monster. It didn't like it one bit and advanced to attack. Nope, no go. It couldn't hit Aloy because I kept moving her away from the edge whenever it attacked. It went down along with the rest of the kangeroos. I went to the other lower platform to the right after an attempt from where Aloy attacked the Slaughterspine to catch the drone. The fall wasn't pleasant.

Now we finally did it, while it had its function the number of casualties from this cannon were too high. I am saddened of how much suffering was unable to be avoided but, we are here shutting this thing down:

Finished the last Hunting Ground Raintrance. Scored three stripes at all HGs. The machines at Raintrance are Tremortusk and three Clawstriders.
First trial; shock the Tremortusk and remove its tusks. It's better to get the shock bow because it comes with the purgewater arrows for the Tremortusk take down. Its resistance has to be taken down with purgewater, then shock arrows before the switch over to bow with the tearblast.
The shock bow from the Daunt is too low. The shock bow that will do it because it can shoot Purgewater arrows is the reward given in the Side Quest; Need To Know.
Second Trial is to override one of the Clawstriders, mount it and kill two other machines. The mount must be used to deliver the killing blow.
Third Trial is to blast off the cannon from the Tremortusk and use it to kill the Clawstriders.

Far Cry 6
Main trhust did the mission where Dani gets captured slumming for Juan going after Viviro to get to the CIA for weapons and support and it just snow balls from there. And well this is the mission where Dani also is captured by the regime and we get more of a face to face meeting with Castillo. Honestly kind of one of the more cold blooded scenes in the entire game he was just going to slit her throat right then and there...until Diego shoots him in the head to free him, Castillo throws in a grenade after the fact and Dani has a chance to escape.
Other main bit to was getting to the end and have been thinking I might've missed that really interesting quest with the painting of the statues or what not. Well I got to it and its part of the arc to get Zenia annnnnnnddd its one of those things where it does not tell you where those statues are so all the memories got flooding back in of just how much of a brat this particular quest is. So I won't be recruiting Zenia this time.
From there I got the 'you are about to hit the end point of the game are you sure you want to continue' warning and sure enough I decided to put it to bed given just how persnickity the final mission is and think the save system for the preultimate mission is a little wonky if memory serves so pretty much should get it in one run as much as possible.
Couple more interesting things here in the conversation of the 'truth or lies' camp. Castillo throws a grenade into the room after promising Diego to give Dani a chance...and well in a way he actually did fulfill that obligation since it wasn't an insta death so it still kind of works barely. And then Diego lied to him about the events of Hotel Pariso and that Dani was there, Castillo reacted quite intently to it being a lie. But then most interesting bit here is think we get backstory here on just why it bothers him so much and why he has his little deal with the Truth. He notes that when the revolutionaries at the time captured his father they cut out his tongue so he wouldn't tell the 'lies to Yara'. The way he said it to. In the other plot development of the situation...heh I just realized this might explain it. I think I commented on the incredulatty of the situation last time but Clara calls Dani and asks her not to talk to Juan then Dani talks to Juan and asks her not to talk to Clara about her having her molars ripped out and what not. See the thing is I've had my teeth ripped out and its not fun. Sure I guess Dani could be that much of a bad ass...but then wouldn't Clara notice? What makes this worse though is that Clara somehow finds out anyways and there is not really much indication of how, she just mentions that Dani got spared by Castillo and made it out alive without any explanation as to how.
Still, Clara is actually a decent character. Don't think she got the development Castillo did but on the other hand she really does wonder about the one basic fact of revolutions and how to avoid them, that blood tends to call out for more blood. So...how do you avoid that?

It seems like most machines have to be hit with whatever they are weak too, otherwise you may as well be throwing nerf darts at them for all the damage you do.

Sharpshooter Bow with the Ranged (I think that's what it's called) Valor Surge does heaps of damage regardless of elemental weaknesses and hitting the main weak spot will 1 shot most of the weak to mid machines. The Shell Snapper still gives me the most grief of any of the damn machines, how does that thing manage to jump so far!!!!!

I'm playing on STORY, but I still love my Charged Spear.....One-hit kills on Acid Bristlebacks all day long.
Edit: Oh! I forgot to add my favourite part- something I totally wasn't expecting! I was charged by one of the bull-looking things that can mount (I'm terrible with machine names)....I was going to use my Charged Spear- and I thought I was too late- I was totally expecting to be thrown like a ragdoll and flung several meters away....But instead I saw Aloy do the most amazing thing ever! (the animation of) Aloy lowered her left shoulder and leaned into the charger nearly stopping it in its tracks and then leaped into the air and WHAMO! One-shot kill. I was not expecting to see Aloy lower her shoulder like she was stopping a freight train and be able to absorb the impact from the Charger. That must be a new animation added to Forbidden West, and I must have timed it just right because normally I get flattened. I just thought that was so cool!

That must be a new animation added to Forbidden West, and I must have timed it just right because normally I get flattened. I just thought that was so cool! She does killer moves on the mobs too. It's not often I move her up close for melee but occasionally, there'll be groups of rebels trying to take down machines or having it out with the locals. Ran into one such encounter; rebels against the Tenakth. I shot from a distance then thought it's cleared so I went to the bonfire for a quick save. Up came a screaming surviving rebel. She'd done better to keep quiet while attacking but she was shrieking like a banshee (I gather Tenakth are not big on stealth. They like to shout out their presence because it's the honourable thing to do) at Aloy, shouting all kinds of implications for her blood. Hit her three times then the finishing move came up. I thought Aloy was just going to ram in the spear but nope, she did some kind of somersault (sideways?), grabbed the rebel's head, brought her down to the ground and snapped her neck. At least I thought that's what she did. It went so fast that's the impression I got.

I prefer using the spear too, it was the same in the first game. But then I have always been a melee player in pretty much everything. I like bashing things I guess.

Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords
Came back last night and picked up where I left off. I finally finished the Sublevel of the Jedi Ruins. I had to rely on Kreia and her powers like Insanity to get by. This is the first time in 20 years that i had trouble with this section. I've played at least twice a year every year since 2004, and this time I chose the female Exile. The only problem I can think off is that as a female I can't recruit Handmaiden who is a beast of a fighter and she also gives the male Exile a bonus to both Wisdom and defense. Anyway recruited the Disciple for the first time. A lot of people don't like him but since I am a history buff I understand his passion for Jedi history. Oh and Atton had a problem with me recruiting him.

I have run int oGlinthawks but no Stormbirds yet The Stormbird is up north. The mountain ridge of the Slaughterspine canyon. I thought I had to deal with it as well when I saw it flying at the edge of the canyon but fortunately no. Yea hI knew Stormbirds are in th egame I jus thaven' tencountred i tmyself yet asI haven' t ventuerd into their territory but then I've only reall ycovered maybe half the map so far. As I only did the Kulrut quest earlier though I' m stil l t oreturn t othe base with Aether bu tmostly because I allowed myself t oge tdistracted by side quests after completing it. My plan for tomorrow is drop that off take out a couple of the rebel camps i f I can and start working towards picking up Poseidon on the southern end of the map. I may try and do a couple of other sid equests bu twe'll see. Depends on ho wquick I can work through some of it.

FW Finished all Scavenger contracts and got the final reward which is a legendary armor. Not impressed with design. Has a lot of buffs and two big debuffs (-40) which are frost and plasma. Nah, not going to bother with it. I've also finished exploring the land mass. What's to the far west side of the map has to be left for later as it involves crossing a strip of ocean and I think it's part of a main quest. I also left off exploring a southern bit because I think it's part of the main quest too. I've also finished all Cauldrons. The last was annoying because a monkey stole a part and of course Aloy had to go after it. There's one unfinished cauldron but it's part of the main quest and will not open at present. Now I'm going after the green exclamation marks and listening to rumours.

At this rate all future Bioware games will be half done and modders need to rescue it for free.
