Went on a trip to the Bahamas IRL a week ago. Came back and played a little AC: Black Flag for comparison. Conclusion: They didn't make the beaches nice enough in the game. In reality, the beaches on the Bahams are really almost a pure white, due to all the aragonite in their sand. As a result, the sea is almost an unbelievable turquoise color. In the game, the sand is still too yellow. Looks like the devs didn't dare go all the way. Probably afraid to be accused of overdoing it a little.
And then they made the beaches way too white in AC Odyssey when the real Greek ones are more yellow (I just came back from another vacation at Greece. Malaka!!!).
I went on a beach vacation too in May, what's up with that. LOL
It was Denmark and the sand was very white and felt soooo nice. Last time I was at a beach was 2018 (?) in California. Denmark has them beat especially off season. Barely any people there and the dunes are gorgeous. Granted, the Big Sur cliffs are cooler but in terms of beach quality and peace and quiet, I highly recommend Denmark in May.
Yeah got nothing to say about Assassin's Creed. Just wanted to chime in about beaches, haha.
Ubisoft majority shareholders the Guillemot family are considering teaming up with Tencent for a buyout, according to a Bloomberg report. The news comes amid disappointing sales of last month’s Star Wars Outlaws and the delay of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, in a year where Ubisoft has lost almost half its market value.
Now, Bloomberg reports the Guillemot family is speaking to advisors in a bid to stabilize the company and increase its market value, with the buyout being one potential option. Ubisoft shares have fallen 40 percent this year, with the company now valued at €1.8 billion ($2 billion).
The Guillemot family owns 20.5 percent of Ubisoft and Tencent 9 percent, according to the firm’s latest annual report, with a potential team up allowing the two to take the company private. Since the publication of the Bloomberg report, Ubisoft’s share price has increased dramatically, already rising 30 percent at time of writing.
Microsoft has confirmed that Windows 11 version 24H2 is accidentally killing Ubisoft games such as Star Wars Outlaws, Assassin's Creed Valhalla, and more.
As reported by VGC, Microsoft updated its support website to reveal it has placed a temporary block on Windows 11 for users with those games installed.
"After installing Windows 11, version 24H2, you might encounter issues with some Ubisoft games," Microsoft said. "These games might become unresponsive while starting, loading or during active gameplay.
"In some cases, users might receive a black screen. The affected games are Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Assassin's Creed Origins, Assassin's Creed Odyssey, Star Wars Outlaws, and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora.
"To safeguard your Windows update experience, we have applied a compatibility hold on devices with these games installed. These devices will not be offered to install Windows 11, version 24H2 via the Windows Update release channel."
Ubisoft released an update for these issues in Star Wars Outlaws in its major Title Update 1.4 but Microsoft notes players may still experience issues. No timeline was given for when the issue will be fixed proper, but players of Ubisoft games on PC are advised not to update to version 24H2 if possible.
