I don’t get the love for Ezio. He’s easily one of my least favorite protagonists in the series.

If you can just be patient with it you'll get the hang of it and beat your brother easily. The stories are quite good in the Ezio games and then there is just Ezio being Ezio which is pretty good as well. The climbing is a lot harder in the old game and yeah falling is bad. And yes Shaun mellows over the games. Yeah, I beat the brother once I realized Ezio needs actual handholds and can't just shimmy up the wall like a spider.

Apparently if Ezio bumps into one of the many people carrying crates around, the crate is destroyed and people get upset But not as upset as they get if he runs anywhere. I just made that mistake. I don’t get the love for Ezio. He’s easily one of my least favorite protagonists in the series. I like him fine so far. I mean, he's still a teenager delivering letters for people, so I guess we'll see how it goes later.

I don’t get the love for Ezio. He’s easily one of my least favorite protagonists in the series. He's my favorite. He's a charming kid with whom we get to experience a lifetime. He's introspective at times, looking back on the crazy life his family's legacy led him to choosing. He lives a hard life with a lot of loss and sacrifice, but doesn't lose himself to bitterness or ennui. The charming kid from Firenze got older, but stayed charming and likeable. I sort of wish they'd again give us a protagonist with whom we could spend several games. We might spend more real world time with the protagonists of these 150+ hours games than we do with Ezio; but we don't experience as much of their lives. (Alexios/Kassandra was pretty expansive, epic and safisfying, as I think about it.) 180 hours of riding around England doesn't feel as meaningful as decades of Ezio's life, fighting the Templars across years and nations.

Ezio is the proud owner of assassin robes and a broken hidden blade. One of those characters that you know from the second they open their mouths that they're slimy, just from the way the voice actor portrays them. I'm not very far in yet, obviously, but so far this is one of those games that makes me hate bedtime because I don't want to quit playing

The top 5 protagonists in the series for me are: 1. Kassandra Agiad 2. Shay Cormac 3. Haytham Kenway 4. Evie Frye 5. Shao Jun As for the other protagonists: Altair was fine, hate Ezio, like Connor, hate Edward, Arno was fine, hate Jacob, Aya and Bayek were okay, and Eivor was okay.

Wat's with these rumors that we are getting a new AC this year? While I am legitimately enjoying Vahalla its such a heavy game I don't know if I can digest another AC game so soon. Also while it may open up some of the same problem as being another huge game to worry about I'd rather a new Ghost Recon.

I'd be up for it, if NG+ doesn't drop soon I'll be done with Valhalla with only the wait for DLC. I am desperately looking forward to the Raid Mode, so hope it's a Co-Op mode with different difficulty levels.

There does seem to be a lot of "take it with a grain of salt" articles about it based on Ubi needing another money maker this year and it could be being made specifically for the next gen consoles. They think it's possible because of the overall similarities in the last 3 games making it easier to build the game faster.

Ezio was oddly calm about the prospect of getting one of his fingers cut off. Numb from the family trauma? At least he didn't have to. Who started that practice? Bayek and Aya?

Wondering if anyone else has heard anything. He doesn't have any sources. He's just speculating. Valhalla's in pretty rough shape. It will need a lot of support to bring it anywhere near Origins' or Odyssey's level. I hope they intend to dramatically improve the game via post-launch support, as they did with Odyssey. That said, I would probably buy another AC game this year if I were convinced that it had spent enough time in the oven. Valhalla has left me leary. I'm giving them some leeway with the impact of Covid-19 upon development; but that's a one-time pass. They now know how to do better, I hope. More importantly, they should choose to take a delay rather than release another raw, unfinished AC. We'll see, I guess. I'm not convinced we'll see another this year, but neither would I be surprised. JorRaptor's educated guesses were right about the timing of past AC games, and wrong about other games.

Calling the game unfinished seems like a massive over generalization. The game basically functions still. Yes, the bugs are frustrating, doubly so since Odyssey is probably the most stable game I have ever played....but then I have still played games that were far far buggier and I consider them 'finished'. Hell Breakpoint was much more buggier then this and it still was a pretty good game and the bonus was throughout its life span with patches and expansions they eventually made it into a better game then the predeseccsor. Though I am not sure they can do that with Vahalla. A lot of its problems I don't think can be patched out. That being said I am still having a great time with it and I put both it and Odyssey high on the tier 2 scale. Edit: I suppose it is worth pointing out for definition purposes that...while I have not played it to mind you...the only game I have run into that I consider unfinished would be KOTOR 2. Maybe throw in Fall Out New Vegas on that list too but that was only because of its problems on consoles.

Maybe throw in Fall Out New Vegas on that list too but that was only because of its problems on consoles. It's unfinished by my standards. There are quests that don't work reliably. The game regularly crashes. Many gamers who promote the game, including JoRaptor, can't even progress the story to the end due to bugs. It's pretty bad. I'm enjoying it well enough to be over halfway through a second playthrough. Still, it wasn't ready for release. It's unfinished. If you think that's "a massive over-generalization", I'd say you are way more forgiving than I; and maybe too forgiving. I'm giving them some slack on this one, since Covid-19 clearly impacted development. Still, they'll lose me quickly if they release another buggy mess like this one. I've bought every single AC at launch, barring the Vita game and those side-scrollers. I'm very invested. I won't pay full-price for unfinished goods repeatedly. They've now burned me once, and hopefully this was an unfortunate exception.

Jor also posited that a studio that worked on DLC for Origins has been working on it since which would give them more time to develop than Vahalla...kind of an eyebrow raising statement by itself. Here's the vid: I've heard conflicting rumors on this. In the past, the Montreal and Quebec studios had been working on AC games at the same time, just staggering their releases. But Ubisoft has now said that Quebec is off the AC franchise (at least for now). So the assumption is that another division in Montreal is working on the next AC game, but won't be out until next year. Likely set in China, and they'll need the extra time to come up with all the new art assets, etc.. Another rumor has a budget AC title (like AC Rogue) coming out in early 2022 set during the Hundred Years' War. Again, they're just rumors right now. Even Jor says he's just speculating. However... Ubi's notoriously poor at keeping secrets, so I'm sure we'll have something solid to go on long before any official announcement.

All I ask is that they don't trip over one another in the same quarter... I would prefer them to give like an entire hemisphere in distance between one another. But a budget title suggests smaller which suggests the two could coexist easier.

Since we are on the subject perhaps one of these weird comments of mine but so far I can safely say take BioWare's storytelling, character writing, and dialogue and choice mechanics, stick em in a blender with Vahalla's combat, inventory, and skill tree...sans the bugs...and that is pretty much my ideal vision of what I want DA 4 to look like right now. Mind you I am A. still not sure BioWare can pull off its level of stealth mechanics with it being so heavily focused on party and B. more emphasis on squad tactics would certainly be nice and take cues from Ghost Recon Breakpoint for that one. Edit: And for clarification I am not sure the stun mechanics are going to be needed or wise for DA either...or given DAs set up might need it a lot more. But other than that this is my current want.
