To shake off some of my slight disappointment having finished this and all I went back to replay some DA2. Weird, I know, but the thing that struck me as I was continuing my latest playthrough is that it has a lot of banter just like any other BioWare game and it works just like in Inquisition and this game as you're running from place to place but unlike DA:I or Andromeda it doesn't feel as if this is the high point of squad interaction - that happens through the story and specific scenes. It feels like to me BioWare has cut down on the amount of story-integration for almost everything and then as part of an excuse for making it more open-world-y they thought having a lot of banter (which is really not a huge amount) spread out over the game as you free-roam was a way to sell us on the game and to tie "STORY TM" into the open-world stuff. I hate this. No, I really do and it doesn't mean I hate squad banter. I was pretty relieved to hear it when it got patched in in 1.05 so it doesn't bug out for everyone, but as I'm doing a few side-quests and it triggers banter-check by banter-check when you drive the Nomad it starts to grate on me. It's not the banter itself, it's just the feeling that I'm driving and whenever they start talking I kinda wanna stop and listen or I'll keep driving but I'm not sure if I should focus on looking at things in the distance or look at the subtitles while I listen and it really doesn't feel like this whole banter thing fits in as a feature IMO. Why? BECAUSE, it's supposed to feel like a bonus and it was always like that. Banter is not the primary resource for character development. It's an icing-on-the-top to solidify and add detail to the sense that you're in the adventure together. It really strikes me as some sort of glorified excuse since DA:I that BioWare has doubled down on "banter" as if that's what people really love. I'm sure they read on the old BSN "Oh I loved when Morrigan and Alistair said this and that" and "I LOVED when Tali and Garrus talked about elevators in ME2! That was the best moment!!" and they over-concentrated on it, because that's what they do. "Oh, that can decrease our workload and people will love it more? Nice, they'll love this!" Link"Guess"Ski out.

its not just that, but also banter in Andromeda does not feel anywhere near interesting or funny or whatnot. It is very dry and sometimes feels like characters talk about things that are more than obvious, so one has to wonder why do they even talk about that. For example: start of dialogue Liam - hey cora, so you served in the army. Did you ever disobeyed orders? Cora - ooooh, in army you must follow orders, thats how it work Liam - even those you not agree with? end of dialogue Seriously? I understand that BW wanted to show characters with Liam being somewhat of a hotshot while Cora more professional by the book type, but that dialogue?... Not only this is absolutely crappy and unimaginative writing beyond any redemption but also most likely worse that most teenage fan-fics written during the breaks between classes. They sound like kids: "do you ever disobeyed your parents?"... And I found that majority of banter is on that level. Drack has some ok lines but otherwise, banter is terribad. Replaying DA:O right now and literally any character banter there can give Andromeda 100 points ahead and it still won't be on the same level the DA:O chatter is. If not for the logos and stuff, I would never thought that this game was made by Bioware, because their games had always strong character and dialogue writing, but this... this is lower than low.

Yeah I noticed that too.
Peebee: "Hey V... Vetra... V! Hey!" Vera: "Huh, what is it?" Peebee: "Oh, you're awake... uhm... I forgot"

This is why I stuck with Vetra and Drack for the vast majority of my playthrough. The banter between those two seemed to be the best.

Also fire Mac Walters. That's a start. Quotes. "we can now portray how a person feels through eye movement and all these subtle little things. In general, we want relationships to be less formulaic, less about checklists and more about growing feelings in a very organic way, that feels natural and right. We know that our fans want that and we are ready to give it to them." Bring it on."
"In Andromeda our animations are at an all-time high".

Add the option to change your squads weapons again. Also the ability to give them orders in combat like the other games. More outfits for them as well. Giving less options than the original trilogy was a joke.
Add paragon and renegade back, or at least the option to do more evil and heroic things with the interrupts.
Less SAM. Found him to be a bit overused and sometimes took away from the game.
More squad mates, 8 would be nice. Maybe even include your sibling as one.
More new races. Only 2 in Andromeda was a bit of a joke. So hopefully the Milky way races discover and uplift a few new species.
Better animations! Do we really even have to add this? The days of janky Bioware animations need to come to an end. It was okay back in the day, but games like BOTH and Witcher 3 have risen the bar.
Less fetch quests. Put more into the main question and less on filler.
More ambient music. There simply wasn't enough in Andromeda. What little it had was good, we just needed more.
Better character creator. The one in Andromeda has to be one of the worst I have seen in years. It honestly feels like one from 2 gens ago that you would have seen on the PS2. That isn't acceptable in this day and age.
No more same faces. Every single asari besides Peebee shares the same damn face. This is not okay in this day and age either. Same goes for the Angara. They all also share the same face. More body types would be nice too. Could separate them into 3 different classes, thin, average, large.
That is just my wish list off the top of my head. If I really sat down and thought it out, sure I could find more things.
