The little bases have generators in them giving you life support.

Don't remember my life support dropping in a matter of seconds, I could go a good 30-60 seconds till having to recharge. Anyways there are heat lamps scattered all over the place on the platforms to get your life support back.

This Architect is a nightmare.
I've just stumbled across it on insanity today, with a Lv 14 Ryder who's biotic focused with pull and throw powers. The result haven't gone my way so far.
To build up your life support just go into the Kett structures and this will boost your life support to the max again. As for a battle strategy, I've survived longer when moving out of it's electricity attack range (when the ground flashes red) by pressing O to warp to the side. Hiding behind cover (avoiding it's front missle(?) attacks) to focus on the legs is probably best.
I'm having more difficulty with the summoned observers which are called in as support. These always spawn no matter how many you take out!
Does anyone know if it's possible to defeat it at level 14 on insanity?

Finished 2nd play through, first hardcore, 2nd Insanity. A level 14 biotic would be hard for sure, so look to who your squad mates are. You have to have control of the remnant spawns. I find Drak with Peepee or yes, even Liam are good for controlling the remnant. But bottom line you have to be able to do a LOT of damage very quickly on the Architect, so if with a pure biotic build have lance and as powerful a weapon that you can get. Lance creates biotic explosions and if you direct the team toward the Architect at the right time you should be able to get better combos. Also Cobra RPGS are powerful and can take down the toughest enemies quick cutting down Architect battles by half. Buy them whenever you can and save them for tough bosses. Also you have to MOVE, always be on the move, you cannot camp esp at lower levels. Stay out of the Architects AOE's for the love of God they will strip your shields and then you're dead. Also Turret mode, as soon as you hear that rat a tat tat get cover! He has a rhythmic routine, learn it and move. Re: life support, that's pretty obvious develop a habit of moving toward heat throughout battles. It's part of your overall battle strategy.

Are you playing on insanity? That's the only time I noticed my life support drop quickly. Stay near the pods that revive your life support Here's a video. It might help

Unfortunately, I've brought along Jaal/Vetra and they have a habit of faceplanting straight away. Ryder's skills are focused on pull and throw only with a passive barrier so it takes him awhile to whittle down the health of the legs.
I'll probably persevere with this team because I'm so stubborn and can't be bothered to go to the forward station to switch it up.
It's as though the Architect is Ryder's very own suicide mission at this point. Died loads of times

Seriously though switch Jaal out. Veta and Drak are good together at least. Save yourself a lot of time and trouble. But I hear you, I can be stubborn like that. Cutting off the ol' nose to spite the face. lol. Oh well to each his own.

Swap to Drack. His incinerate will work with throw and so will Vetras overload. Use cryo or incendiary ammo. I don't remember the legs being armoured so disruptor round might work better for detonations. Focus on swinging in and out of those veranda areas and drawing the small bots into the buildings away from the architects fire.

Basically yeah just stick to the lamps entirely only peaking out to shoot or throw powers.

I actually thought Jaal was a boss when I brought him to the Voeld architect fight. But he was alongside Liam. I had mostly a tech/soldier profile with overload and concussive shot, and an amazing PAW assault rifle.

Just wanted to let everyone know that it is possible to defeat the Architect on Voeld with lv 14 Ryder (with a pistol and biotic powers of pull and throw) because I've just done it .
As soon as I switched Jaal out for Drack, the battle became a lot easier. It still took me a long time though (about an hour and a half).
Thanks for the advice peabuddie and zipzap2000

Hi there pathfinders I tried to defeat an architect but the life support drops to 0 in a few seconds, the planet is 100% inhabitable. Voeld any ideas? Stay inside the buildings; they have heaters. Move buildings when the Architect moves. Edit; you may have to jump out to get rid of the spawned Remnant as they like to congregate on top of the buildings.

Definitely the toughest architect! Prolly the most mobile I have ever been in a battle (I tend to snipe), because I had to dodge his attacks AND keep warm! I felt great once I took that thing down!
