As far as Mass Effect boss fights go, this one gets a pass, although I didn't even bother trying to revive my squad after a while. I was disappointed by not being able to shoot the Archon, even if it was just to make sure he was dead.

The one or two hours leading up to the finale fight are epic, the ride on Meridian as well, the epilogue is pretty cool too, but the boss fight.. I wanted to shoot or hit that Archon. That's my thoughts as well. I wouldn't call the final battle bad but that's because I enjoy Architect fights. My problem with the final fight is that it's basically a reskinned Architect with console activation and the Archon's commentary added. That's why I selected Good, but procedural.
To me, it follows the trend of the previous boss battles in the Mass Effect: not bad but not stellar either. For me, it tends to be all the other things in the finale that makes the finale feel awesome.

Should've just let us Charm or Intimidate the Archon into committing suicide like in the other games.

It was kind of a "really, BioWare" moment for me. After killing so many Architects before it was frustrating having to do it again. It was just boring because you already done it before. That being said getting there was good/interesting.

Good but still weak especially with no culminating boss fight. I'd rank MEA final level as better than ME3 but weaker than the rest.

It was a boss lifted straight from Contra, and it never made sense why a Reaper would look like a person in an early stage of its development.

Worse I still don't know what its purpose is for. Beyond the Remenant being protecters of the vaults.

I'm gonna go with someone at Bioware just finished watching the terminator movies and thought it would be cool to have a giant size terminator. Maybe it was done as a shout out to Arnold? Don't know.

I liked it and it was definitely better than the Corypheus one from DAI. I certainly found it more challenging than the Cory one anyhow. It was probably the kind of level of difficulty that I'd expect from a final fight personally. It was at least at the same level's I'd say to Saren and the human reaper from ME2

Let me shoot Archon in the face and I'll be good. Everything else is pretty decent except the way Archon dies.

The actual final bosses in the ME trilogy were always kind of odd. Super Hopper and Contra 3 were not exactly inspiring. The suicide mission was going so well….then it appeared. I would have rather taken on a legion of Praetorians, or even a giant praetorian. I mean, why weren't there any Praetorians anyway? It's the friggin base for C'thulhu's sake.

ME2 lifted straight from Contra. ME3 lifted straight from Deus Ex. Is it really that hard to come up with an original ending?

I guess I'll be that weirdo and say that despite ME3's various failings, there were some things that I greatly enjoyed about its ending, particularly the final confrontation with the Illusive Man. Sure, his character was diminished by indoctrination, and then we had the glowworm up top ruin everything, but the tone and Martin Sheen's delivery of his lines that made it oddly satisfying, especially if you use the Renegade dialogue options that actually force you to shoot him before he shoots you. Seriously, if we had been given a rundown of our options through Vendetta rather than that shitty thing above, I would probably have loved the ending.

It FEELS plenty epic to me, and I appreciate the generous autosaves (for once).
Analyzing it critically, however, it appears to do little more than throw the same old 'dudes' and mechanics at you. And no role-playing opportunity / choice whatsoever (like keeping vs destroying the base in ME2. Didn't amount to much in ME3, but when it was fresh it was SOMETHING).

It was fun, but I felt that fighting all the Remnant Architects on previous planets somewhat took away from the intrigue and uniqueness of the fight. That being said, the Remnant Architects were by far the most entertaining fights in the game. I would have enjoyed fighting the Archon, but final boss fights are really hard to pull off. The Saren one was okay when you were a low level, but I was able to take Saren down in less than 10 seconds at level 60 on Insanity due to having maxed out gear.
I enjoyed it, and it certainly was a step up from the Human Reaper in ME2 and no final boss in ME3.

I voted lame, with a big BUT: The final missio as a whole was great! that's how ME3 shoudl have been. Except for the part where you get to push a button instead of shooting the archon in the face. We really should have had an interrupt or something. Where's my double tap?
