Sticky Poll

Doesn't matter whether you sticky popular threads or not - they'll float up on top on their own, just as they have so far. Sticky is for important things that don't get much traffic, but you don't want them to sink (resource library, looking for group).

In fact, stickying threads that are already popular might have have a bad effect on other stuff that gets seen and/or posted in when people scroll to get to their original destination. For example, with the themed challenges thread stickied, I and a lot of other people who mostly post just there, might never notice any new threads that pop up below.

Just my two cents, I'm not really bothered either way.

The MP Resource Library should be divided into sub-forums (such as the missile thread below this started by a particularly handsome user) and should be stickied. Maybe Looking for Group as well. Or the resource library could be revised so that all of the important info is linked on the first page (as on old BSN). It should be stickied in any case.

Agree with SMR that the "daily reporting" threads such as Highs/Lows, Last Pug, Last Solo, etc. don't need to get stickied as they are always going to be bumped to the front page.

I agree that pinning is for threads with important stuff that are in danger to get lost.

This is yet another thing that makes the forum confusing to use. Please don't sticky non-important threads.

I also believe there's no need to sticky the most popular/frequently updated "social" threads, they'll be up the top due to their nature. DragonRacer's resource library on the other hand, the BSN by platform compendium, LFG are the ones do need to be stickied due to their reference nature. Personally I am hoping that Themed Challenges will remain stickied, it has a very niche place now in lieu of the official ones. it's the original post that gets updated and read first when the new challenges come without trawling through the pages of the posts, whereas the regulars i'm sure tracking the new posts in it anyways. and I think at some point Prestacious mentioned, if my memory serves me right, that'd they'd consider removing stars from the title should it be stickied which would be nice

Consider this a plus 1 for that idea. I like the idea of information being stickied, but "social" threads being not stickied.

Honestly not sure why you didn't just sticky the one other thread I requested several times and got a bunch of "likes" doing so in the process. Themed challenges. That's it.

Everything else made no sense, unless there was a magic thread I missed asking for everything to be pinned?

So on my clan forums a little program called "Facemaker" was all the rage a number of years ago, and we made a thread about it, and it got stickied, and on this forum where it says "Pinned" on that forum it says "Sticky" so the thread title was literally "Sticky Facemaker".

We leave it up even though nobody uses it anymore
