I'm having a bit of a problem with this mission - more than half the ammo doesn't fire! At least 12 of the rockets for the 1st wave are duds. I don't recall this being the case in previous play throughs and have watched a couple YouTube clips of people doing the mission - they seem to have only 2 duds on average. Is this a known bug and has there been a workaround figured out for it?
Not a huge deal, I really just wanted to feed Urz. (Cuz who doesn't?)
Tried restarting and returning to Normandy. Going to try running a few missions and then return to see if whatever is causing the problem has reset, was just hoping to get all of Tuchanka done in one swoop.
It seems like once the second dud hits, everything after that is a dud. Could this be an ini issue that could be edited to correct?

Hmmm. I can't recall really ever having a dud in that little minigame.
I have no idea if there is a coalesced edit for this or not. I would imaging that there might be a plot flag in the save for completing Ratch's Quest, but I don't know what the number for it would be.

I've never had a dud at all, in over 40-something playthroughs. The only thing I've had happen with them is that a round may hit one of the tires or tire stacks and fall short of the intended blast location.
There should be a flag that can be tripped using Gibbed, but I am not sure. I'm on a work computer and can't look in my folders

Well, after doing everything in game I could think of, I ended up taking the above advice and using Gibbed editor. I didn't find the quest itself, I don't think, but I did find BioD_KroHub_106DefenceGame and set both values to True, which made the pyjak meat purchasable even though the quest is still in my log. Regardless, I got to feed Urz which was the goal. Thanks guys. Really not sure what's going on with this quest giving me so many duds, but I'm really glad to have found a work around. Maybe I'll try in a different save to see if my game has been corrupted somehow in just the files concerning that quest, or if it's something to do with that particular play through.

The only "duds" I have encountered in the minigame is when you fire into a place that the angle of your current left/right turret can't fire to, and the game has to reload the missile into the other side. (And, of course, as tonymac said, bad aim hitting the tires/etc), I don't think the angle reload uses up a missile though. I'm on PS3 though, so it could be different for you.

The only "dud" for me is that quick little bastard that jumps out close on the right.
He got by me so many times, I have to go punch the one in the researcher's store...

I could upload a video later. When I say I have 12 duds, I'm being 100% serious. I've counted several times. Not sure if that will help in any way.

I'm not saying I doubt you, just sharing my experience. I KNOW how buggy BioWare coding is, I believe you.

back on homeworld we used jaspers to clean up any organic life on a planet, i suggest you should focus more on creating more of them if genocide is your priority

I'm not sure if this relates at all since I'm playing on the Xbox 360, but I have encountered a problem with this mini-game a couple of times where the gun has failed to fire any projectiles at all. In that case, reloading has always rectified the situation. The only other thing I've noticed is that firing from the gun diagonal from the run the pyjaks are coming out of can result in the projectile hitting the "debris' between the runs rather than the pyjak. I think this is likely distinguishable though from a dud projectile, so it's probably not your issue either. Otherwise, I'm out of ideas. Sorry.
