So I played ME3MP for about two months after the launch. I remember having a gigantic blast with it. I played MEAMP for about three days and left. For reasons just read the MEAMP threads on this hallowed site, most people feel the same about the current state of MEAMP.
Now I've reinstalled ME3MP and holy crap, it's chock full of new classes (I can play as a Volus now? lol), new maps, new enemies, new weapons....apparently Bioware kept this game going for about a year. Impressive.
Anyway, even tho I sunk dozens of hours into the game back in the day I feel like a beginner now. Any good tips for me to follow, for a better enjoyment of myself and my squadmates? If I remember anything it's how annoying completely clueless noobs can be. What classes should I avoid, which are the most fun, what should I prioritize in the store, what maps are beginner friendly etc. Thanks!

To start out, don't worry too much about avoiding certain kits. At this stage of the game's life, they've all been figured out well enough to work. If you like a kit enough, look up some guides on it, and you'll be able to make it work for the difficulty that suits you. Obvious stuff would be to get your feet wet in bronze, and then move to Silver as soon as you're comfortable. You should have a head start on gear and probably a few of the old promo weapons, which have been reclassified as Ultra Rares. Depending on where you are, you're probably best off with with the Uncommon and Gold packs. Spectre Packs have a guaranteed Rare and a better mix of consumables than the premium pack, so I'd prioritize the regular Spectre Packs at first, until you have built up some spare equipment. Speaking of equipment, suiting up will have a big effect on your performance at this stage, so I'll close out with a few generalities about early strategy: - You'll want armour-piercing somehow, either through a gun mod (if you have the appropriate one) or by using AP or Drill rounds. Drill Rounds are excellent for Bronze/Silver, but the lower armour mitigation can make it slightly less useful in Gold, depending on what you're using it for. - If you focus on powers, go for a lighter load. It makes a difference in ME 3, which apparently it does not in MEA. Of course, to some, this is blasphemous and all damage should be caused by guns, but if you enjoy powers, they work just fine. - Ask questions, no matter how seemingly dumb. Many weird facts are behind almost every power, kit and mechanic in the game, and you'll never find it all on your own. If you see something weird, ask about it - odds are something obscure is happening, and this forum is full of people who know that shit and have no one to show off their knowledge to! Mostly have fun. Peruse the ME 3 MP Library stickied at the top of the forum. I say peruse because reading it like a novel will drive you crazy, but it's not a bad idea to see the titles of the links, just to know what kind of thing you can search for in there.

First thing, shoutouts! Welcome back to our community As I am a Nooby Mc Scrubs myself, I don't think I can give you all the pro tips. You should ask more experienced, better players than me But if I may suggest you something it would be going to the thread where all the MP bugs are written. It will help you a lot, trust me. When I first saw what is wrong with many powers I shaked my head with disbelief. Maps: with a good team any map is easy to be honest but the most beginner friendly are imo: Giant and White. And of course it depends on what enemy you play against and on what difficulty. Maps like Condor, London, Hydra could be very tough. But as I said - it all depends on many things. Tips I can think of right off the bat: Do not use your casting powers on flying Praetorian (you're gonna activate his bubble which give him damage reduction), shooting Abominations in the head prevents them from blowing up in your face (you must be precise ofc), also N7 Shadow heavy melee cuts their heads off so it works as well. Help with the objectives, that's the most basic thing. You will do escort much quicker when your full team is doing it rather than you split to 2 & 2 (well, it depends tbh). Do not nuke extraction wave unless it's a matter of being dead or alive Do not camp at the EZ on extraction too. The best thing to do is going to the opposite side of the map and rush to the EZ like 20 s before the extraction. I think many people will bring more tips for you and be aware, even if you do everything by the book, pugging life is hard sometimes. But you'll find it out on your own haha. I was in the same situation as you, like a year ago. I didn't know a thing. Now thanks to my local friends and awesome people I met here, I think I'm not that bad player anymore Also I wish BioWare could add maps like Horizon, Geth Dreadnought, Citadel, Palaven, Cerberus HQ, Rannoch etc. It would be so awesome to have a chance to play on these maps imo. And would help a lot those amazing people who creates incredible challenges for us. Right HamleticTortoise ?

Welcome back! I'd suggest at first using a class that can prime and detonate its own powers, so you won't have to depend on guns, mods, consumables you might not have to be effective; for example, Human Engineer can chain overload and incinerate; Human Sentinel's warp/throw combo is great, and tech armour gives you the extra tankiness you might like while you get back in the flow of the game. I guess the best tip would be to send friend requests to people posting here any of us still defending the Milky Way will be happy to answer any question you might have, and help you get all the shiny new toys in your manifest Edit: thanks Sonashii for reminding me! Visit the Themed Challenges Thread jokes aside, the Halls of Fame (all accessible here) are chock-full of videos with excellent gameplay! Checking out a few of those featuring your favourite kits, or kits you are looking forward to unlocking, could be a good way to get yourself back up to speed!

Wow, thanks for all the tips, seems ME3MP community is still kicking What a change of tone from the MEAMP threads mired in gloom, despair and disappointment. Seeing what Bioware managed to do with ME3MP I now have some hope they'll pull it off with MEAMP too, eventually, but for now I'm gonna have fun for a change. For starters I think imma take on Brutes with a Volus. Should be hillarious.

For starters I think imma take on Brutes with a Volus. Should be hillarious. It can take a while, depending on a few factors, but can be hilarious. Hold down heavy melee during the Brute's charge. The heavy melee will mitigate the stagger (Shield Boost doesn't prevent stagger.) After the charge, release heavy melee and fire off shield boost. Assuming you're keeping Shield Boost's Refresh close to three seconds or under (for the purpose of this particular trick, you'll want to check your loadout power screen to see what the refresh time under Shield Boost is) you can keep cycling between Heavy Melee and Shield Boost back and forth. This creates a three-second(ish) cycle where you spend 0.5 seconds in damage immunity, followed by diminishing damage reduction and shield restoration for a second, then 0.5 seconds of damage immunity, followed by diminishing damage reduction and shield restoration for about a second. Technically, this works on a lot of enemies, but the brute is the one it works best on (and is the most impressive-looking.) The danger is in the synch kill, which is telegraphed by the red eye animation. I believe you can still get around this by carefully timing the immunity (the first half-a-second after activating shield boost or heavy melee.) The heavy melee's lingering damage reduction is higher, but the shield restoration is lower, while shield boost is the reverse - significant shields are restored initially and for the duration, but less damage mitigation is in effect after the initial immunity ends. In combination, however, they render the Volus nearly invulnerable, at least when facing a single enemy.

Here are my dos pesos.
Watch some youtube vids of classes you don't understand or aren't comfortable with. Learn some of the major "game features" and try to learn the maps/enemies by playing unknown map and enemy. TGI and the sexbot are pretty common beginner classes since you have lots of "get out of jail free" packs. Although branch out to other classes when it seems to easy or boring. because many can do more damage and aren't as boring.
With anything just play and you will get better, just don't get stuck in the rut of TGI harrier and picking map/enemy because that is boring and dumb.

Like others have said most is in the Library and learn the bugs/Working as Intended mechanics
Some quick tips off the top of my head. Learn to reload cancel, it can make the difference between life and death and turns the Claymore into the best weapon in the game (high damage, single shot weapons become really really good). It was funny reading all the anti reload cancel shitposts on Reddit like a week before ME:A came out and now people want it back.
Shotguns are awesome and the smart choke is necessary on most. Adrenaline mods can be better than more shields depending on the character, i.e. fat Turians always get AMIII when possible.
Don't use HVBs if you plan on using AP/Drill rounds as you will lose out on damage when shooting through cover, unless the gun you are using has built in armor pen (Javelin, Widow, B. Widow, Crusader, Executioner). If you have enough piercing you can get double/triple hits on certain enemies.
Lots of powers have hidden attributes, that's a good thread to peruse through. Learn about your/your enemy's health/shield gates and why phasic rounds are awesome.
Do objectives, revive if Infiltrator, aim for the head, kill shit before it can kill you. I had more thought out, but alas, I forgot what I was going to say. Feel free to ask questions, it's the only way to learn.

What URs do you have, at any level, right now?
With that info, I will present to you a build in the class of your choice, which will destroy them. Asari like to say that.
