Assuming neither of the Ryder twins were capable of filling the role, who would you choose as your successor? Cora is the obvious choice (for me) since she was groomed for it, but who else could do the job?
Imagine how someone like Reyes Vidal would react to the news.

I hate to say it, but Reyes is the only person who comes to mind. You need someone smart who can get things done, he would obviously be more on the renegade side than the twins though.

She's good at being bossy, but she still seems to need somebody to tell her what to be bossy about. She admits as much herself, but Cora was never put into a situation where she needed to take the reins. I like to think that her character would go down a far different direction if she were made Pathfinder. Even if the game shows that us new blood is more successful in Andromeda than Milky Way veterans. |

Ryders is more like a verifier, not a pathfinder;) That's why I picked both Sloane and Reyes. They are both antagonists, but intentionally not written as villains. They're out for themselves and the exiles who seem to have gotten a semi-raw deal. Like I said, they both lean renegade, but that's how they got where they are. They both seem to be intelligent and more importantly they seem to have the skills to rally people to their cause.
An important skill Ryder demonstrated when...
He sent out the call for help in the final mission and his "friends" and "allies" came to help. |
