I'd skip Contagion. On my second play through, I ignored the email and still got nailed by Dunn when I returned to the Nexus. The first play through, I tried boarding the Tempest from the Nexus and she still tags you. The 1st time, I thought this should have been in the Priority Ops - you know, a highly contagious disease that can jump species, but no, it's just a Nexus side trip. I'm going to complete it because I don't know if there's a negative consequence if you delay or skip it; I doubt it since it's not a high priority. This one is a prime quest to be zeroed out with the Gibbed Editor, or modded with a skip.

it's one of the best side quests ( that shows how bad side quests are) i completed it and liked it
there are thousands of others which i would skip, i skip most of the "tasks" like sanning or killing architects

I'm on my second playthrough now and I'm probably going to skip every side quest. They are not interesting. I also don't think the Tasks are actual quests, they're busy work that make you run around and hope to find the stuff to fulfill them. Irritating as hell.

All of the tasks.
Theyre all the ME3s "ive heard of this y thing on planet x in the z cluster, id like to have it" "ok ive brought it, its waiting in bay D24" variety.

All the ones with random spawns. I hate those so much.

Contagion is absolutely right. All it does it point out so many problems with the game. I really almost stopped playing the game after that one.
Issues it highlights are:
- Slowness of watching the stupid tram go down its track - Slowness of moving the ship around the cluster - Having to always land through the old exile port on Kadara and then trek through it, even though I had an outpost there - Stupid driving around and following the trail on the Nomad - No real consequences for anything in the game.. you could let any quest wait around forever and it has no impact
I think right after that quest I actually had a couple other nuisances it rubbed in my face.
I will most definitely not ever do that quest again.

I did not do Contagion, and mostly quests on Nexus and Eladeen - i.e. planets I did not like. I also skipped a quest I was actually curious to finish, with the grow-op in the far away corner of kadara, but I had no idea where to get a Grow Glo for them. Next run maybe!

I literally told my friend to skip anything under additional tasks last night so I'm happy to see that everyone else finds them a waste of time.
That Contagion side mission. It was the worst quest-line I have ever done. It made Elder Scrolls quest-lines look good. I think what made it the pinnacle of putrescence was the fact that it had a great sense of urgency and importance that made me feel like I must complete this quest. Normally a great thing for any quest unless of course that quest is to hunt down a bunch of bread crumbs across like 20 fucking load screens to end up at load-screen planet to have to then drive to the most remote part of that planet to initiate what turns out to be a meaningless quest that will have no impact on any story line. Did I kill that bitch and that Cerberus wanna be Angaran? You bet. Was it satisfying. No, fuck no. It was the 9/11 of quest-lines.
9/11 Contagion, Never Forget.
