Between working and enjoying the MP its taking me a while to get through the SP campaign (just completed Kadara). I enjoy reading during my lunch hour and I want to buy the new MEA book which I assume is a prequel?
But I want to know if it will spoil anything in the main game?

I found the book aided my enjoyment of the game.
Once you've reached the Nexus in the game, reading the book will be fully non-spoilerific as far as I can see.

I haven't read the book, but isn't it entirely about the uprising that happens on the Nexus prior to the Hyperion's arrival in Andromeda? If that is true, then there shouldn't be any spoilers with regard to the game.

The book tells you what happened on the Nexus a year before Pathfinder Ryder shows up; so you learn how the relationships between Sloan Kelly, Tann, Kesh, Kandros, Addison and others deteriorated to the point that people decided to take their chances with Scourge infested planets rather than stay on the Nexus.
I listened to the audio-book twice and it gave a level of depth to the characters you meet in-game that you simply can't get without the book.
