I was one of the people disappointed to discover that ammo-types in this game were no longer permanent....I was also delighted to discover later that there were ammo-type augs under the Remnant research tree, so i quickly researched and added them to my Revenant.
Now as I only have one of each of these augs (not looted any more), I had you use normal ammo consumables on other weapons...and in comparison the consumable (in this case heat/incendiary) seems to set enemies ablaze more often than the aug. Is this correct or am i just imaginng this?
Im sure when i first used the aug enemies burst into flame quite often, now they dont.

Yup the ammo based augments just make that ammo type more effective on your weapon. They are not permanent ammo mods.
