Eh, while I'd have appreciated a remaster for the sake of my trilogy replays, I have to admit there are other things I'd rather they devoted the resources to. Just generally, I'll pretty much always take a new game over a remaster of an old one, even if the old game is particularly dear to me.

LOL. Sure as hell they are, but they can always charge twice for games like they're doing for BF1. 130 dollars? for the game plus the mandatory DLC pack? 60+70 for a multiplayer only game? They don't joke around, do they? ______ Anyways, back on topic. I guess it's easy for me to say "who cares" because I played the trilogy enough times and wouldn't probably play again remaster or not. And I agree, instead of remastering why not better use those resources elsewhere on some other IP or whatever. But I do understand if people is a bit disappointed, probably some "new fans" that will jump into ME:A without playing previous titles would have liked the idea of the trilogy remastered. Still, I insist. Those games are not nearly as old to justify a remaster. But then again you have Bethesda remastering Skyrim... but obviously that was more of a console service (again) situation.

<<<<<<<<<<(0)>>>>>>>>>> A total reboot makes sense to me. A remaster can just be adding high resolution text with some new DLCs... easy money there. EA, an investor oriented company, turning down easy money is an oddity.

If they aren't going to do a remaster, then I hope they finally get to making the rest of the Shepard Trilogy backwards compatible.

I wonder if that would change if Andromeda doesn't do well? Good point, we just have to wait and see, although I don't think MEA will sell poorly. That's the only upside of dealing with EA: they're fairly predictable, always about profit.

Remaking ME3 would be their money winner in my opinion. Give us the cut scripts with the better storyline to the rushed cut one that's now official.

I would greatly enjoy a remastered Mass Effect trilogy. Just not right now. Mass Effect 2 -- which is the one I would replay most -- is only around six years old; ask me in four to nine years. I would like it to feel like an actual anniversary/remastered; not an improved port-over.

I'm going to say here what I did in the twitter thread. What the hell, EA? Get our hopes up last week for nothing to string us along and then backpedal? What kind of meetings did they attend in this last week? Keep your mouths shut if you're going to backpedal. I would have rather had a clear "no" last week than a "we're strongly considering it," and then a "no." (I normally am very neutral and happy go lucky on this forum, I know. But I'm mad!)

I miss that show, Ryan and Collin especially. FYI, its on the CW now..its pretty much same (games and such) except no Drew. The irony that it would end of on the CW especially considering the jokes about said company before they changed their name. Back on topic... I'm confused do these people not communicate to each other? How can one week say "were actively looking into remasters" to no remasters? Unless they decided that quickly, but to me that sounds like miscommunication between them. I forgot who the guy was that said we are actively looking into remasters. Unless this is an old story.

It's a bit disappointing for me considering ME is literally the only remastered series I would drop serious cash on (and a DA remaster, but that is even more unlikely). But it's whatever. I'm just not sure if I fully get the reasoning Moore gave for why they won't go that route.

I'm glad EA/Bioware are not wasting time and resources on remastering M.E. I only want the devs to be completely focused on making Andromeda a great game, with a well writen and longer main story (at least 25h) - no repetitive side quests - and, ultimately, a good PC port (despite the fact that Denuvo is killing piracy on AAA PC games, PC version of games are all f*cked up... laggy even on high end rigs)

I'm sure EA marketing are delighted that these guys are falling over each other... What's also interesting to me is that in EA's "player-first" model -- which they've been talking about since 2014, they emphasize showing off games much earlier in development. This is in stark contrast to the idea that marketing is taking a hush hush Fallout 4 approach to marketing. This early exposure of games, and not waiting until the last minute was also highlighted by Andrew Wilson current head of EA in 2014, guardian“ Our objective now is to bring players in much earlier. It gives us a better sense of what we’re investing in and whether there is demand for it, and it gives players an opportunity to say, ‘we like this, we like that, but it would be cool if this happened’. Here is the reality of games development. When you sit down and talk to the great creative leaders we have in the industry, the vision they sell is often intoxicating and contagious. However, what often happens is that either the vision doesn’t manifest in the game, or the player never gets to the vision because of a dumb HUD or a poor UI or some other fluff that gets in the link between the idea and the gameplay.
“This whole concept of the industry hiding everything until the very last moment is an outdated way to make games. Invite people in as early as you can, deal with the feedback and build that back into the game. What you get two or three years down the track are amazing games built with the help of the community.” Moore and Wilson seem to be on the same page. Other than those two...uh..

They don't need MEA either. It was conceived as a trilogy. Not a franchise. There's a difference. This will prove itself again in time, I think.

in me3 the characters hint at the fact they sent a fleet out into the unknown in case the reapers cant be beaten so they can ensure some remnants of each galactic civilisation survives, so they were clearly queuing up for a new franchise, and then changed their minds and then changed them back again, and when ME:A was officially announced as happening it was already a forgone conclusion it was well underway
what I don't understand is why the 3 choices of which only one really results in survival for what remains of galactic civilisation at the end of the reaper war (destroy) and how that works with the ark ships and so on for ME:A, it would be nice if they had already released some sort of dark horse comic affair especially given the fact they've pushed the release date back to 2017
