and the black hole from this trailer:
Both were in the Andromeda briefing videos and so were not in gameplay. So I can't say I'm surprised they were not present in the final game, but still, did it have to be so much worse? The black hole from the game looks so uninspired... and all the space shots from the Tempest (and when it lands on a planet) are cheap. Which matches the rest of the game I suppose.

The first video is one of my biggest issues with this game. I thought a Pathfinder was going to be first boots on the ground, making first contact, testing the planet to find where the best place to start a colony was.
But this never happened. By the time you get to Andromeda, Nexus people are already on the ground living in places, first contacts have already been made. It was none of what they made it out to be.

But the rest of the marketing made it pretty clear that Ryder wasn't going to get what she signed up for, didn't it? |

It was none of what they made it out to be. *Slightly spoilerish* Agree, I think MEA lost a lot of what it was supposed to be because by the time the Pathfinder even shows up settlements have already started, even if some failed not all did. Heck the first friendly alien species you meet already speaks English by the time the Pathfinder meet them. All that wonder of first discovery and first contact is gone before you even show up in the game. |
