Guess I'm writing up builds today.
Charge: Radius, Melee/weapon damage
Offensive Biotics: Power efficiency, weapons and melee, biotic warrior
Barrier: unyielding barrier, barrier drain, saving barrier
You charge. You melee. Rinse and repeat. Very fun. Bring equalizer with melee mod, but you'll never really shoot it once you get to rank 2.
If you have this girl at rank 2 at least, put your points into shock trooper for charge and you will have a blast. Don't take the full shields restored because shock trooper synergizes so much better. With shocktrooper, your cooldown is almost a perfect circle where you can go into another charge almost immediately after a melee hit, which gives you 20% more shields. Put up Backlash for half a second to stave off incoming fire and charge again.
You can take two berserkers head on with this strategy. The will often break your Backlash with a melee or flak cannon, but it doesn't reset the cooldown, because it was disrupted, not broken and you'll still take non of the damage.
You won't top, but you'll stay alive and have a lot of fun with this kit.
Got it to 10? Good for you. You can put the rest into literally whatever else according to your play style.

Rather boring kit to play in my opinion.

The damage resistance from Bastion is quite good. Add in all the i-frames and why waste time charging all the time with Shocktrooper? Just Charge, melee 2x, Backlash to proc Biotic Warrior, melee 2x, Lance to stun/proc Biotic Warrior, shoot for a second, melee gap close, Charge to reposition, ...
How can you possibly Charge more than that? It sounds like a huge DPS loss if you do since the melee animation is way longer than on the Human Vanguard.

Leveling this up now for the first time. Need backlash to complete biotic mastery. Basically a vanguard but cooler....
Through walls is awesome, Melee is awesome and it's fun as hell to let enemies kill themselves....

I agree that 75% may not be needed on this class but it's all about play style. And in gold an instant shield reboot that's virtually always available can be useful... but I know I'll sacrifice a few seconds to weaken an enemy and let him kill himself because I find it entertaining. Not everything is about DPS or speed running.

With all the i-Frames Bastion is better, if you are in danger just evade/melee again. Also, I'd take Bastion over Biotic Warrior at Rank I as the full shield regen is better than damage on Gold.

Which skills did you concentrate on first while levelling? I'm up to level 9. Playing silvers now. I went with barrier first. The shields and melee boost on a melee build. 5b and 6b make you pretty durable. With jugg shield and a strength enhancer I think you can play gold with just the last tree maxed...and the second option of charge for cool down... I suppose whether you do charge or offensive biotics next or together is debatable. I'm leveling offensive biotics. I suppose charge gets you extra gold ready quicker but I have a crutch-i-cane 6 so it doesn't matter for me. Get charge to 2 and level up the last tree fully to start.

Very squishy on gold at level 10...even with melee mod on weapon and strength enhancer its a charge and 3 melees to kill a sharp shooter...I find an anointed just more or less installs you from behind on gold...have to strike and move very fast... trying it with the DR and extra shields from charge....'
Definitely a fun class but I find I have to be far more mobile and tactical than with a vanguard which to me is just button mashing...
Also, sometimes these melee attacks miss completely or send me i na weird direction which opens me up to fire...

Using incendiary 3 ammo. My god the fire explosions are epic. Prime, charge, melee, backlash, dash around repeat.... having a lot of fun with this.
Sadly I will only be able to get backlash up to 3 since I only have the character at 5...

Bastion at rank 6 because on peepee4 her charge is mapped to R1 + L1 + triangle + share + down swipe on touchpad + rotating controller counterclockwise twice. The less frequently you have to charge the better.

The less frequently you have to charge the better. Yeah, why games in 2017 don't have some mapping options is beyond me. Would it really be too difficult to let us reassign which button the powers are assigned to even if the options are fixed?

Bastion makes it so you can actually put some work in after you charge into the fray. Without it, you're just going to get shredded on gold if there are multiple enemies in the area. I mean, you can probably get away without running it in bronze/silver...

While I'm not 100% on the pure dps numbers on one vs the other, what is attractive to me about shocktrooper is that it allows you to get your melee damage bonuses from charge and the combat passive in under the allowed time for one full swipe. Melee again and you won't get them because of the animation time for the asari sword. Again, not sure on the full average dps of bastion-melee-melee over shocktrooper-melee, but at the very least, I would argue that it's comparable. With this in mind, comparable damage output considered, it's just flat out more fun to do charge melee in repetition. Charge double melee just draws more attention to the slow animation speed and adds boredom to the mix. The charge revitalizes the excitement/uniqueness of the kit you're playing. Also, keep in mind, for as long as you need to use backlash in one vs the other, shocktrooper pretty much promises a full recharge for backlash the next time you use it. If you need to keep it up longer if the situation is too hot for another melee as an example because you have bastion, the recharge speed will be higher, if not total, and you risk not being able to use it when you need it. ALSO, if someone isn't quite dead, raiders, for example, a rank one lance will finish them off giving you that half second to charge into the next victim, rather than using another slow melee. Variety is the spice of life, after all. Don't forget how you're getting your shields to, basically, 70% after a melee not just 50%. That's the other thing, bastion negates the bonus from that passive that gives shields back with melee. because you're already at full shields and in your iframes from attacking. Again, I never go down in gold with her. I'm not topping, but I'm having a lot of fun while not being a burden to anyone, that's the key. TL:DR Shocktrooper charge and one melee repeating is more fun than bastion charge and double melee which also invites complications.
