Being a service provider / industry, requests such as yours are designer's nightmare. You really ought not say "Make me something cool, great, awesome" for a few simple reasons:

1) Your definition of cool and their definition of cool greatly differs
2) You do not set any form of boundaries nor parameters for the said designers to work in (which brings to the next point)
3) It usually results in this: "You know what you don't want, but you don't know what you want"

Whose to say a designer comes up with a Mass Effect avatar for you that features furries and futa? To him/her its great and awesome

TLDR you have to specify some form of parameter, even as little as a color scheme helps.

You don't go to a cook and say "Make me food". He's gonna cook you Rocky Mountain Oyster then, are ya gonna eat that?

OK, OK in your defense. Loosely speaking your train of thought should be something along the lines of

Is there a particular character from Mas Effect that you like? Y/N
If N then are you looking for wallpaper stuff (planets, environment, landscape)
If not then are you looking more of a customized logo with N7 (caricature drawing, sleek and stylish, Hello Kitty Pink Theme 
Or maybe you want a fan art drawing of some sort.
An animated GIF of part of a cutscene?

After you narrow it down then you also have homework to do, source the material be it from deviant art, or wallpaper sites. If its a certain look and feel you like you can give examples (Back in my days 2advanced.com was used too often as a benchmark for sleek design, I don't even know if they are still running today)
