I have 2 newbe questions regarding the Heat Inducer Augmentation that provides incendiary ammo.
1) If I have a weapon on which I have an augmentation such as Electrical Conduit or Seeking plasma and therefore its not shooting normal "bullets" - does using the Incendiary aug or consumable even work ?
2) I have the Heat Inducer augmentation in my inventory and available to use. I can develop an A/R and apply the aug to it, however if I develop a new Black Widow sniper rifle, Heat Inducer is not even listed as an augmentation that I could apply. Is there some limitation as to weapon type this aug can go on ??
many thanks

This augmentation doesn't "provide Incendiary Ammo". In line with its description, it enhances the effect of Incendiary Ammo, which is only available via the consumable.

A missed opportunity in my book. Augmentations with ammo types would have made so much more sense. Also, in regards to your second question: depends on what other augmentations you put on your weapon. If, say, you already have a bio-converter on your weapon, you won't be able to put a heat inducer on it. Some augmentations are mutually exclusive.

Thanks very much to both of you. I completely misunderstood the Ammo type augmentations and their worth seems reduced since it only bumps the damage temporarily.
Pillar B: Heat inducer was not available in the select list even for the very first aug to be applied to my BW (even though it shows up in my inventory and was not already on any other weapon). But now that Im learning more about heat inducer and that it only lasts for 3 clips, I dont think Id want it on a sniper rifle. I'll go Battlefield assist, double mod slot, and 2x kinetic coils instead.
Thanks again

Actually, since you have essentially unlimited incendiary ammo via the buy console on the tempest, I have found myself running with it active nearly all the time, and both my weapons have heat inducers in them.
I have noticed that if I use Turbocharge, which bumps clip size, the heat inducer adjusts and you get 3 clips of the new, larger, clip size. Which means I get 21 shots from my Black Widow per incendiary ammo, and something silly like 150 from my Valkyrie. Turbocharge plus the heat inducer is an extra 60% damage on top of the BWs already high damage number, allowing me to one-shot some things without even getting a headshot. Turbo plus incendiary with a heat inducer lets me take out an entire architect leg with one Valkyrie clip.
I dunno, YMMV, but I love the thing.

This was also my biggest disappointment the first time I crafted something I wanted. Thought my great Mattock II would have full time IA, and it didn't. Also didn't help that the rate of fire was all over the place prior to the patch. At least on the legs you always get fire burst when you jump melee which is at least rule of cool good.
I also started hoarding IA and DA in my first run, but didn't quite run it all the time, mostly just in fights with elites where I wanted more combos and more damage. The only two consumables I really even like in this game, although Overdrive or whatever would be good if you actually want to switch favorites in the middle of the fight.

I haven't used it, yet, since I've mostly used Biotic and Tech builds. It could definitely be very effective for a weapons-focused Pathfinder. Focusing mostly on powers thus far, I only use ammo consumables in tough fights, like those against Ascendants, Elite Destroyers, etc...

The Life Support consumable doesn't even function. Consumables are definitely completely ignorable. I often forget I have them. I've not even remembered to use the RPG, yet. It probably could have helped me in a few fights.

I tried to use Life Support in a particular annoying place with level 2 hazard and thought it didn't look like it worked at all. Good to know it wasn't just my imagination. Reloading that area took away the hazard though.

I was trying to mess with a puzzle and it was really pissing me off watching the meter drop so fast. Actually in my first game it bugged the first time because I didn't even realize it was supposed to have a hazard in it until my second run.
